I stayed at The Thompson Denver this month while touring colleges with my son. From arrival, the valet team was friendly and courteous. Location: The hotel sits in a busy part of town, but LoDo is one of the most appealing areas of downtown Denver. It's highly walkable, and I felt very safe throughout our stay. Lobby & Public Spaces: The design is modern with a Western influence, but not country. Think of it as a refined, contemporary take on the American West. Natural materials like wood, leather, stone, suede, and metal give the space a sophisticated feel. There are multiple seating areas with lovely lighting, an upscale bar, and a French restaurant with optional outdoor seating. I thought the breakfast was pretty average but the service was excellent. I had a server named Bailey. There is an extra service charge on the bill and it was explained to me the tip was included but it was split up between all the workers so I felt encouraged to leave extra gratuity. This maybe off putting to some clients, but I appreciated the headsup and explaination. The service is the bar was slow for me I was alone at a table by the bar but they were very busy and my server had a big table. The wine list was top notch, I only had wine and the French Onion Soup which was reallly tasty. Room: We stayed in a City View Double Queen, which overlooked a pedestrian street in LoDo. To be honest, In comparison to the lobby and bar area I may have been a little underwhelmed by the décor, but the room was spotless and the linens were a 10/10, which matters a great deal to me. The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was really nice, with excellent shower pressure and high end toiletries. Housekeeping did a very good job with our room everyday. 10/10 Service & Perks: The staff was courteous throughout. I beleive Danielle was who helped me at the front desk. I booked a Hyatt Privé rate, which included my food and beverage credit and complimentary breakfast x 2 and I earned my World of Hyatt points. I didn't receive an upgrade, but as I was traveling with my son, the double queen was exactly what we needed. Good to Know: There is no concierge, which I found unusual for a city hotel. There is no spa, but the team was happy to recommend nearby establishments for restaurants or personal care services they even have discouts with certain local businesses. Final Thoughts: The Thompson Denver was a very nice stay, and I would happily return. I drove around Denver quite a bit and this area of Dever was the nicest by far.

Nothing bad to say about our stay whatsoever. Hotel is in the perfect location. Near plenty of restaurants and stores and within walking distance of Coors Field and Ball Arena. Our room was perfect and clean. The hotel lobby had a great restaurant and bar. Service was amazing from valet to the front desk to the whole restaurant and bar staff. We will without a doubt be staying here again. Thanks for having us!
The hotel is beautiful. My flight arrived early and my request for early check in was honored. I checked in before 9am. The only concern with the hotel which may be a reason for me Not to book again is, the room air conditioning system. During my stay the temperature in Denver was 95 degrees and higher. I tried to set my room thermostat to 60 degrees. My room was on the 8th floor. The system would not set below 65 degrees. My room never cooled under 70. Hot sleeping on vacation is not ideal. I asked about the temp and was offered an old school box fan. I accepted because, I-needed some relief. Three nights with a loud window fan on a chair was not what I expected at a high end beautiful hotel. Well at least the fan was modern black. Others may have had the same problem. Other than the room temp, the hotel experience was nice. The manager was very attentive and welcoming to guest. She maintained a nice reception area and was always present.
Incredible. Booked with Amex Platinum hotel credit for quick staycation. Stayed for my wife's birthday, was upgraded to higher room at check-in. Also had a six pack of beer on ice and macrons waiting for us in our room! On top of that, we were given unlimited minibar ! Super cool. Breakfast and dinner was very good. The new 16th street mall in Denver is amazing, what an addition! Thought we were in another country. Will definitely be back!
After a 3-week vacation throughout Denver and Colorado, the Thompson Denver has been, without question, the absolute best hotel we have stayed at. The level of service here is truly unmatched. Every detail, from the incredible food to the professionalism and warmth of the staff, has exceeded our expectations. A special thank you to Kerolyn Hamilton, who has made our experience unforgettable.
