We were looking forward to a relaxing day at the space and we left very disappointed. The pool looked as though it had not been cleaned overnight or that morning, and we were there all day without ever seeing anyone cleaning. Leaves covered the surface and floated in the water, and a plastic lid sat on the bottom of the pool. Several tiles were missing, and we saw visible mold in multiple areas. No one tested the pool water the entire time we were there! The first seating area we chose had rice on the table, open ketchup packets with ketchup spilled, and dirty tables. When we moved to a second area, we found a used tobacco chew packet next to our lounge chairs. The first hot tub we tried was broken and unusable because the jets wouldn’t turn on. Another had several flies and a wasp floating in it, which discouraged us from using it. With one hot tub out of service, the others were also more crowded than they should have been. The spa robes were in poor condition and stained, and I found a long hair in mine. The pool towels were also stained and worn, with fragments coming off of them. We received no poolside service until about 2:00 pm, when we picked up a menu ourselves and placed an order. We ordered our cheeseburgers medium, and they arrived well done. There was no salt on our fries. We contacted two management-level staff members at The Ritz and never heard back. Overall, a very disappointing experience from a 5-star hotel.

My wife and I stayed here for the 5th time last weekend and were extremely dissapointed in what the property has become in a short period of time. What was once a favorite long weekend destination, and one we reccomended countless times, has seen better days and is far from the 5 star resort they claim to be. This review would be too long to list all of the issues we faced, but these few should caution you when looking for your next mountain retreat to spend your time and money. -Upon Check in several hours late, we were presented with a plate of fruit that was excessively soft to the touch, rotten and inedible. That sat on the counter in the entryway of the room for the duration of the stay and was never removed. -Upon checking in to the onsite restuarant, Sakaba, we informed our waiter that there was a food allergy - The food allergy was disreagrded, My wife fell ill and was not right for that evening and a good portion of the next day. -Last and most importantly, my wife checked into the spa, and was greeted with a robe prior to her service. Upon putting the robe on and reaching into the pockets, she pulled out a pair of another woman's underwear. When she informed the desk, they nonchalantly handed her another robe and said, "Oh, we never check the pockets" as if this was perfectly fine and normal. It led us to wonder had the robe even been washed after a prior use. Attempts to reach out to management regarding these issues went unanswered and why I feel compelled to share this experience with others. Go to The Four Seasons in Vail or any of the other amazing 5 star mountain resorts across the US. Avoid Ritz Carlton Bachelor Gulch at all costs!
Beautiful property conveniently located near Beaver Creek and Vail. The hotel is more tucked away than other properties in Beaver Creek, which gives is a private and relaxing feel perfect for romantic getaways, business trips, weddings, or special family trips. From the moment of your arrive, the staff will make you feel very accommodated and looked after. The interior of the hotel feels very Western based including the lobby and lounge area. We saw several guests walking around with cowboy hats. The pool was very heated and perfect for a family swim. Hotel guests get also access to the spa, which includes a relaxing co-ed grotto, sauna, and cold plunge. The Bachelor Gulch area offers a complimentary on-demand shuttle (think a Uber-style app) but bringing a bus. As a tip, check the fitness class schedule ahead and sign up for any classes as needed. All the staff is very well informed including the front desk and valet, which can provide insights into any local area attraction. We visited during the summer months and hope to be back soon.
As an interfaith wedding rabbi and officiant, I have had the privilege of celebrating weddings in some of the most breathtaking mountain settings in North America, and The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch is one of those rare venues where luxury and natural beauty come together seamlessly. Nestled on Beaver Creek Mountain in Colorado's Rocky Mountains, the resort feels like a refined mountain lodge on a grand scale. Surrounded by alpine forests, dramatic peaks, and sweeping mountain vistas, the property offers an atmosphere that is both elegant and deeply connected to its surroundings. From the moment guests arrive, there is a sense of retreat, tranquility, and occasion that makes the venue feel extraordinary. What I especially appreciate is the authenticity of the mountain experience. Rather than simply placing a luxury hotel in a scenic location, The Ritz-Carlton embraces its alpine setting through its architecture, stone fireplaces, timber beams, outdoor terraces, and breathtaking views. The result is a venue that feels luxurious without ever losing its connection to the landscape that makes it so special. From a ceremony standpoint, the mountain settings are simply spectacular. Whether exchanging vows surrounded by towering evergreens, overlooking the mountains, or celebrating on one of the resort's outdoor terraces, couples are immersed in the beauty of the Colorado Rockies. The scenery enhances the significance of the moment without overwhelming it, creating a setting that feels both intimate and unforgettable. I also appreciate that Bachelor Gulch naturally lends itself to a full wedding weekend experience. Guests can enjoy hiking, skiing, spa treatments, fine dining, and all the recreational opportunities that make Beaver Creek such a beloved destination. The result is a celebration that becomes a shared experience for family and friends rather than simply a single-day event. Of course, the hallmark of any Ritz-Carlton property is hospitality, and Bachelor Gulch exemplifies that tradition. The combination of attentive service, exceptional accommodations, and remarkable surroundings allows couples to focus entirely on celebrating with the people they love. For couples seeking a venue that combines luxury mountain hospitality, breathtaking Rocky Mountain scenery, and an unforgettable destination wedding experience, I am delighted to recommend The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch. It is one of those places where the beauty of the setting and the quality of the experience are equally extraordinary.
We recently (May 2026) stayed at the The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch for a special family celebration, and the experience exceeded our expectations from start to finish. What truly sets this property apart is the people. Every staff member we encountered provided warm, genuine, and highly personalized service. Rather than feeling scripted, everyone took the time to get to know us and made us feel like valued guests throughout our stay. A special thank you to the concierge team, who helped coordinate a wonderful surprise in our room for a birthday and graduation celebration. Their attention to detail made the occasion feel extra special and created memories our family will cherish for years. We also had the pleasure of working with Christopher, the resort photographer. He was incredibly talented, energetic, and fun to be around. He immediately put everyone at ease and captured beautiful family photos that perfectly reflected our time together. The images turned out amazing and are among our favorite souvenirs from the trip. Between the exceptional service, stunning mountain setting, and thoughtful touches throughout our stay, this was a truly memorable experience. We cannot wait to return and highly recommend The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch to anyone looking for a luxury mountain getaway with outstanding hospitality.
