My wife and I came for a 4 night stay and couldn't be more pleased with our stay at the Madeline. The hotel is beautiful and has everything you need. The entire staff was incredible during our stay. It was nice being in mountain village for more relaxing down time. Strolls around the area, fresh mountain air, and amazing views. The free gondola is a three minute walk from the hotel and it will get you down into town in less than 15 minutes. This was a child free trip for us but there were tons of families around and we definitely talked about what a great place it would be for a family vacation. Regardless of the type of vacation you are taking, the Hotel Madeline is a great place to make your home base. We will ve back, hopefully sooner than later.

I was honestly shocked when I first walked into Room 704 at the Madeline. Calling this a hotel room simply doesn't do it justice—this was an incredible residence. The experience actually began before we even reached the room. We arrived on our motorcycles after a day of riding through Colorado, and the gentlemen attending to us out front were absolutely outstanding. They immediately took care of our luggage and allowed us to park our motorcycles right up front. We didn't have to lift a finger. After spending the day on the bikes, that level of attention and hospitality was incredibly appreciated and immediately set the tone for our stay. Then we walked into Room 704. Wow. The residence was amazing. We had a large dining room, full kitchen, spacious family room with a pull-out sofa, two bedrooms—one king and one queen—two and a half bathrooms, in-room laundry, maid service, and a massive balcony. The entire residence was beautifully appointed, exceptionally comfortable, and far beyond anything we were expecting. And then there was the view. OMG! Walking onto that enormous balcony and seeing Telluride and the surrounding mountains was one of those moments where you simply stop and take it all in. Pictures can capture the scenery, but they can't reproduce what it feels like to stand there surrounded by those mountains. The view from Room 704 was absolutely spectacular. The exceptional service continued throughout our stay. Every interaction with the staff was first-class. From the gentlemen who greeted us and handled our luggage, to the concierge and everyone else we encountered, the level of professionalism, friendliness, and attention to detail was remarkable. The restaurants, stores, amenities, and services surrounding the property were equally impressive. Everything we needed was right there, which made the Mountain Village experience even better. I've stayed at many great properties over the years, but Room 704 at the Madeline was something completely different. The space, in-room laundry, amenities, enormous balcony, breathtaking views, location, restaurants, and extraordinary staff combined to create an experience we will remember for a very long time. If I could give the Madeline 10 stars, I would. From the moment our motorcycles pulled up until the moment we left, the entire experience was 10 stars across the board. Telluride was already an unforgettable destination—the Madeline made it extraordinary.
Overall, the stay was okay, but there were a few issues that were quite surprising and disappointing for a hotel at this level and price point. One of the biggest concerns was the constant smell of kitchen exhaust while sitting on the balcony. The smell started when the kitchen opened and continued throughout much of the day, making it difficult to actually enjoy the balcony. We also found dirty cups in the room, and some of them had a noticeable dishwasher detergent smell. Another surprising detail was the lack of a recycling bin in the room. These may seem like small things individually, but at a high-end property like this, I expected much more attention to detail. The hotel is nice overall, but the experience did not fully match the level or price point I expected.
I recently had a 2-night stay at the only 5-star hotel in Telluride. I like the location in Mountain Village which was nice and peaceful. It is near the center of Mountain Village right next to Fairmont. Valet was the biggest flaw, often had to wait 20 minutes for cars to clear. However rooms was spotless and clean, very high-tech too because the TV is in the mirror! The bathroom is also huge and spacious. Dining at both restaurants were fantastic and the waitstaff were super friendly. Receptionists also welcome guests with welcome drinks and also exit drinks too! Overall very memorable stay.
This is a bare bones, minimal staffed hotel. While they say 5 star…. They cut staff so thin you might as well stay at a 1 star. No valet, 1 front desk ok matter how busy. The front desk is also the main call center so they won’t help you. Zero services. Don’t valet unless you have an hour. One valet who also is the bell hop taking stuff to rooms.
