"There are some fine places to stay in Telluride, but there has never been a great place, a full service luxury resort on par with the best of rivals Jackson Hole (Four Seasons), Aspen (Little Nell), Vail (Four Seasons, Arrabelle) or Deer Valley (Montage, Stein Eriksen, St. Regis).
Well, there still is no such top tier luxury resort, but there is a hidden gem, and in some ways it offers a superior experience. It’s called Lumiere, and I loved it."

One of the best hotels in the Telluride area. The food is amazing and the Hotel is excellent. It is pet friendly. The staff are well trained. Spectacular views of the mountains. Walk a few steps to the gondola and ride down to Telluride. Walk the trails in the summer and ski in winter. Highly recommend this place.
Lumière by Dunton is what all the other luxury hotels in Telluride should aspire to be. The hotel itself is lovely, very clean and comfortable with subtle touches of elegance. The staff are attentive, friendly, and greeted us by name, asking about our day and offering great recommendations for the next day. Our room was very comfortable and well appointed. The food at the restaurant for both breakfast and dinner was delicious and the wait staff was again friendly and attentive. The hotel is small, which is perfect for individualized service, and is close to the central area of Mountain Village and the Gondola, while still being quiet. If you're looking for a luxury stay in Telluride, look no further than the Lumière.
This place is truly special! We chose to stay here for our small elopement wedding and were blown away by the level of service and friendliness we experienced. The facility itself is top notch and I cannot say enough good things about the staff! Superb!
Reason for 4 stars instead of 5: Pool & hot tub are a bit claustrophobic due to location of surroundings buildings. Breakfast selection could use some improvements based on cost of stay. Proximity to ski hill and room comfort was great. Very quiet facility.
We had the best five day staying at Lumiere. The service was impeccable. The room and the Residences are wonderful. The staff were so helpful the boys from black-tie could bend over backwards to do anything for you in the Ski VALET. The breakfast service was fantastic and the selection was great. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.
