My observation and experience: This hotel is majority run by young immigrant people in the service aspect. They are not trained properly and they don’t speak the best English for easier understanding. Very concerning when it comes to non English speaking employees working in such services. It seems the only American employees are the managers. The lack of English speaking makes it hard when ordering food or having conversations. Speaking about managers, Kym at front desk was very unfriendly, rude and not welcoming. She looked very dead in all expressions - the fake’ness was too obvious. Check in was the worst and she did it so quick as if she wanted to get rid of me. No recognition of my wedding anniversary stay. Very poor service I must say. The hotel’s ambiance feels dead with low energy, from the employees all the way into the rooms and outer facilities. Everything is overpriced with the worst quality especially the food. Rooms are old and outdated. Only positive was the last day into finally checking out and regretting ever deciding to stay here for our wedding anniversary. Nothing positive about my stay at all. Very disappointing and very scary for the future of this property as it is understaffed and I was told from an employee there about the large employee turnover during June-July this year - which speaks for itself because it seems like a miserable place to work which automatically leads to such poor customer service. Absolutely the worst place.

My husband (back then fiance) had a wonderful time here with my family and friends when we visited last year for a trip and to do our engagement photo shoot in Vail. The property is clean and the breakfast was good. The rooms were nice and the living areas were a nice touch to hang out and relax after a long day walking around. The parking might be a little full on busy days and hard to go in and out which is the only downside but not much you can do when the hotel is located at the top of a mountain. My now husband and I can’t wait to go back someday hopefully for our anniversary!
visited this place on 7/2 over the fourth of july long weekend! loved the stay here, amazing amenities and great food! however, me and my husband faced a slight racism here which is unexpected form a brand like hyatt. we had arrived for our breakfast (7/3) in the morning, the entire place was empty however the lady server offered us the seat exactly behind where dishes were being collected and was pretty much causing disturbance to have a meal expecting us to be fine with the spot. we cleared said no, we see the empty place around and will choose one the place that has view.
Stayed at the Grand Hyatt Vail and had an outstanding experience from start to finish. The property is beautiful and feels very well maintained, with a warm, mountain-luxury vibe that fits Vail perfectly. One of the biggest highlights was the sushi restaurant, Makoto — absolutely unreal quality. Easily some of the best sushi I’ve had at a hotel restaurant, and it alone is worth the visit. The hotel’s location is also incredible — it sits right on top of a walking trail along the river, with stunning views right on the property. It’s perfect for peaceful walks, morning coffee strolls, or just taking in the scenery. The pool area was another standout: relaxing, scenic, and a great place to unwind after a day in the mountains. Breakfast each morning was also excellent with plenty of options and solid quality across the board. Rooms were spacious and very comfortable, and the bathrooms were a real highlight — modern, clean, and stocked with Balmain products that made the stay feel extra high-end. The hotel check in could’ve gone smoother is the only recommendation I’d have for the hotel. Also want to give a special shoutout to Kym from Australia, who was incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful throughout the stay. That level of hospitality really makes a difference. Overall, a fantastic stay and I’d absolutely come back again.
This was my first time staying at this hotel since it was the independent Vail Cascade Resort and Spa, and unfortunately rotating corporate takeovers haven’t been kind to this place. Our first impression was the chaotic and expensive valet process, the guy who seemed to be in charge was rude, unhelpful, and very disorganized. It took us nearly an hour to get our bags after valet wouldn’t let us simply carry our own stuff to our room. In the rooms, the thermostats reset multiple times throughout the day and the temperature was either too hot or too cold our whole stay. There is sketchy electrical wiring throughout the room as other guests have noted. Our humidifier was moldy and dirty. The doors are way too big and we were unable to close the bathroom door without standing over the toilet. Downstairs, the staff was mostly disengaged and checked out. There were dogs without leashes running around the lobby and pool area. The pool area is very undersized for a hotel this large. Chair 20 was closed (low snow year to be fair) but the hotel is still advertising as ski in/ski out. Everything from food to drinks to snacks were overpriced and low quality. Overall very disappointed with our stay, we expected to get nickled and dimed at a “luxury” resort but expected a small amount of luxury in return.
