Minneriya National Park is a national park in the North Central Province of Sri Lanka. The area was designated as a national park on 12 August 1997, having been originally declared as a wildlife sanctuary in 1938. The reason for declaring the area as protected is to protect the catchment of the Minneriya tank and the wildlife of the surrounding area. The tank is of historical importance, having been built by King Mahasen in the third century AD.
Sri Dalada Maligawa or the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is a Buddhist temple in the city of Kandy, Sri Lanka. It is located in the royal palace complex of the former Kingdom of Kandy, which houses the relic of the tooth of the Buddha. Since ancient times, the relic has played an important role in local politics because it is believed that whoever holds the relic holds the governance of the country. Kandy was the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings and is a World Heritage Site mainly due to the temple.

The Dambulla Golden Temple, located in central Sri Lanka, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a renowned cultural and religious landmark. Dating back to the 1st century BCE, the site comprises five ancient rock caves adorned with stunning frescoes and over 150 Buddha statues. The temple complex was established by King Valagamba, who sought refuge in the caves before transforming them into a Buddhist shrine. Its vibrant murals depict Buddhist teachings, historical events, and mythological themes, while the statues reflect the island’s rich artistic heritage. At the base of the site stands a modern Golden Temple featuring a towering golden Buddha statue. This sacred site remains an active place of worship and a major tourist attraction, celebrated for its spiritual ambiance and historical significance.
Nuwara Eliya is best known for its tea. Due to its geo-climatic attributes, Nuwara Eliya is known to produce tea of particularly fine quality. With the highest altitudes at over 6,000 ft, cool climes, and moderate rainfall the region possesses a highly conducive environment for tea cultivation. Two seasons arrive here namely the eastern and the western, and the climatic conditions vary from one estate to another although located short drives apart. The liqueur produced from unusually small leaves characteristic of the region is the lightest among the regionals varieties.
Ramboda Falls is 109 m (3This unique and beautiful sight can be seen in the Pussellawa area of Nuwara Eliya, at the Ramboda Pass. The Ramboda Falls in Sri Lanka or Ramboda Ella or Puna Ella as these falls are called is created from Puna Oya, a tributary of Kothmale Oya. It makes a twin with Dunsinane Falls which is created by Pundalu Oya, also a tributary of Kothmale River, and combines at the base to form a Y shape.

The Nine Arch Bridge in Ella is on the Demodara loop and spans 91 meters at a height of 24m. The beautiful nine arches make it a very picturesque spot especially as it is located in a dense jungle and agricultural setting. Behind the railway, a forest is booming, and below, tea leaves are being cultivated.
The most visited and second largest national park in Sri Lanka. The park consists of five blocks, two of which are now open to the public, and also adjoining parks. The blocks have individual names such as Ruhuna National Park (block 1) and Kumana National Park or 'Yala East' for the adjoining area. It is situated in the southeast region of the country and lies in Southern Province and Uva Province.
The falls have been named after the legendary king Ravana, which is connected to the famous Indian epic, the Ramayana. According to legend, it is said that Ravana (who was the king of Sri Lanka at the time) had kidnapped princess Sita, and had hidden her in the caves behind this waterfall, now simply known as the Ravana Ella Cave. The reason for the kidnapping is said to be revenge for slicing off the nose of his sister by Rama (husband of Sita) and his brother Laxmana.
The Bay of Galle on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka was built first in 1588 by the Portuguese, then extensively fortified by the Dutch during the 17th century from 1649 onwards. Galle’s earliest historical existence is traced to Ptolemy’s world map of 125–150 AD when it was a busy port, trading with Greece, Arab countries, China, and others. Its mention as a "port of call of the Levant" is made in the cosmography of Cosmas Indicopleustes.
Together with the smaller Randombe Lake, which is connected by two narrow channels, it forms the Madu Ganga wetland. Its estuary and the many mangrove islets on it constitute a complex coastal wetland ecosystem. While on the boat ride you can get fish therapy and watch the biological authenticity.
The Turtle Care Centre at Kosgoda beach is one of 18 turtle hatcheries along the southern coast of Sri Lanka. The center is located in the South Western coastal village of Kosgoda and was established in 1981. It is also very popular as all five species of turtles that visit Sri Lanka nest in Kosgoda. This is not so with many of the other hatcheries around the island whose beaches host only some of the species.
The monument was built at the location where the formal ceremony marking the start of self-rule, with the opening of the first parliament by the HRH Prince Henry, Duke of Gloucester occurred at a special podium on February 4, 1948. Located at the head of the monument is the statue of the first prime minister of the country Rt. Hon. Don Stephen Senanayake's "The Father of the Nation". Most of the annual National Independence Day celebrations have been held here. Apart from a monument, it served as the ceremonial assembly hall for the Senate of Ceylon and the House of Representatives of Ceylon until the parliament was moved to the new parliament complex. Currently, it is the venue for religious events and annual national day celebrations.

Gangaramaya is one of the oldest Buddhist temples in Colombo, started by the famous scholar monk Hikkaduwe Sri Sumangala Nayaka Thera in the late 19th Century. It is one of the most important temples in Colombo, Sri Lanka, being a mix of modern architecture and cultural essence. Located on Beira Lake, it was completed in the late 19th century. After the Venerable Sri Sumangala, his chief pupil Devundera Sri Jinaratana Nayake Thera took on the administration of the temple. It was he who laid the foundation to convert the little temple to an institute of international reckoning.

WOW! Where do I start?! What a company to trust in and to deliver you the most perfect trip during your time in Sri Lanka. In October to celebrate my 40th birthday my husband surprised me with this amazing trip for us both and our 9 year old son. After the long journey from the UK we arrived in Columbo and stayed in a hotel overnight. The following morning we were picked up by our tour guide ‘Dhanuka’ where we began our 7 day tour around the central province of the country. If I am completely honest we were pretty sceptical having booked direct with Hellow travel, rather than a company such as Trailfinders, Travelbag etc back in the UK. Also a little apprehensive about spending the next 7 long days with a complete stranger in our company. I would say this was probably something out of our comfort zone and especially having our 9 year old boy with us. But rest assured we were put at ease from the get go. Wow !! We wanted to do something special for our 50th wedding anniversary and boy was this it!! Sri Lanka really is a wonderful place to visit. There was a genuine “ nothing is too much trouble” feel from the outset All arrangements were by Pavithra.. she couldn’t possibly have been more helpful .. sending an in-depth itinerary proposal with descriptions and pictures of each activity on offer, which we whittled down and added to until we were happy with our nine day guided tour itinerary with beach stays before and after totalling a 16 day trip .. all hotel costs were included in the booking On arrival, our new friend and Guide Dhanuka was an instant hit .. extremely knowledgeable familiar with every inch of the islands history with friends and contacts at each stop reducing wait times and picking the best spots ., and best of all we enjoyed his company and wicked sense of humour Overall comments ., Faultless !!

We had a fantastic visit to beautiful Sri Lanka. During the planning stages our guide Dhanuka was so helpful and answered all my questions. We arrived at the airport late at night to be welcomed by Dhanuka with beautiful flower necklaces. For the next week Dhanuka kept us safe as we toured the country. We tried things we never would have otherwise…water buffalo curd (it was delicious) and asked him a thousand questions. On our last day he gave us each a personalized framed photo collage which was so well done…it will help us cherish our trip. Looking forward to coming back.
We wanted to visit Sri Lanka, we preferred to do it with Hellow Travel, we contacted the office and Mr. Dhanuka helped us in all the steps to plan our trip, everything was perfect, from the beginning when our driver Kasun picked us up, who was polite, a very careful driver, spoke perfect English, explained everything to us on our trip and made everything we wanted happen. Everything was perfect. On our next trip to Sri Lanka we will choose Hellow Travel again.
We had tailor made itinerary including all sights we wanted to visit. The guide/driver was very friendly and profesional. If we wanted to stop somewhere outside the program there was no problem to visit additional towns. We highly recommend Hellow travel for first visit od Sri Lanka.
Dhanuka was such an amazing tour guide, he made our trip so memorable! He was great at spotting the animals on the safari and we got to see leopards, elephants and more! He took us to lion rock and the dambulla temples and knew so much information and all the answers to our questions! The hotels booked were lovely and he stopped along the way for us to try the king coconut along the road. When he dropped us off in Columbo he took us around on a tour and took us to the markets and food spots for us to get dinner before dropping us at the hotel! We had such an amazing trip! We booked our honeymoon trip in Sri Lanka with Hellow Travel and it was the best decision we could have made! Our guide was Dhanuka and he made sure we knew all about the history and the information about the places we were visiting and the perfect times to see them, so it really felt like we were in good hands at all times. This was a once in a lifetime experience in all the right ways. Sri Lanka and its people are truly special, and I do not say that lightly. I’ve been lucky enough to spend time in wonderful places around the world, and Sri Lanka and its people are absolutely top of the list, thanks to Hellow Travel and especially to Dhanuka. Abundant wild life, spectacular scenery, magical temples, and beaches to rival the nearby Maldives, all packed into a country that is small enough to travel comfortably from north to south and less than a day, make this the perfect place for a holiday. But why would you do that, because every hour or so there’s a spectacular place to visit, something to see, or something special to taste or to experience. We had a private tour over two weeks of beautiful 4-5 star hotels, Glamping, safaris, great meals , and the best driver and guide you could ever hope for all for a very affordable price. But I leave the best for last - Dhanuka is an amazing person and thanks to him we really got to know Sri Lanka in a way that I have not done for any other place that I have been. He is fun, funny, smart, thoughtful, 100% trustworthy, and most of all patient and always has a smile. My friend and I did 13 days in Sri Lanka. It is a fabulous place to visit. We were extremely fortunate to work with Dhanuka of Hellow Travel who worked with us patiently as we had some of our own ideas about where we wanted to stay and what we wanted to do. He helped tailor our private tour with us with great patience and attention. We begged Dhanuka to come with us as our guide /driver for our 13 day jaunt around the island. Fortunately he came with us and he was amazing. Always flexible, always cheerful with a big smile, ready to do anything we wanted at any time of day, including many very early morning starts and always making sure everything went smoothly for us. So glad we decided to go to Sri Lanka instead of somewhere else this year. It’s a magical country with lots to offer. Warm humid beaches and misty cool mountains are all within a couple of hours drive. Our tour guide, Athula, took great care of us and went to great lengths to makes feel welcome and happy. He catered to all our needs. The program was nice and diverse for a short 7-day trip like ours. We travelled with 16, 11, and 4 year-olds and all had fun. Hotels were nice and staff were very friendly. Expect changes to the itinerary according circumstances.
We booked this trip pretty last minute, less than three weeks and everything was set up very well. It was an eight day trip which is doable but you will miss out on some sites. Our driver Athula was a wonderful man. Always concerned about our well being and making sure we understood what was going on and ensuring we had a good time. Only three of us on the trip and we upgraded to the larger van which was nice (we had some large luggage and concerned about trunk space). Booked the 4 star hotels and all were great, we did get some upgrades due to the current lack of tourist here and would recommend this or possibly the 5 star hotels as I don’t think they are that much more. Remember it is your trip and if you want something changed or dropped from the itinerary just ask.
SriLanka is a country of wonder and amazement, From the ever changing landscapes, wild animals and the delicious food. It is a country that has something for everyone. From originally booking our trip in 2019 Hellow Travel went above and beyond to assistance us rebooking our holiday in 2022. They ensured we had a memorable adventure with high quality hotels, car and even supported the purchase of a car seat to accommodate our six year old daughter. Our Driver Mr. Thushara was fantastic and knowledgeable, we had many conversations during our journey between destinations.
Lion's rock and mini Adams peak were our favourites. The journey and adventure was well worth the hike. Our driver provided thorough knowledge and background around each and every attraction and landmark for our resource. T was always willing and able to help in any way possible. Always going above and beyond, especially since having our 6 year old daughter with us.
On a very short notice the team organized a custim program to fit my budget and my plans. They were so fast to respond and flexible enough to accomodate all our needs. Once landed in Colombo all we had was to let them lead us and execute the program. Some hidden gems along the way are memorable and unique exleriences, the spice garden and the authentic village experience are a must do for any traveller. The choice of activities and hotels were spot on. We highly recommend them for anyone looking at exploring what the island has to offer while being assisted 24/7 by a team of local connoisseurs. Last but not least high credits go to Renuka our guide who combines humbleness, knowledge and hospitality. It would never have been the same without him and we will definitely come back for him as host!!!

I'm very glad i chose Hellow Travels for my 9D/8N (28th Dec 2019 - 5th Jan 2020) family trip to Srilanka. Mr. Dhanuka Prasad is a very knowledgeable and friendly person. He was available 24x7 round the clock and helped me a great deal in finalizing my itinerary, getting me ETA(visa) and clarifying any doubts i had. I was travelling with my parents (60+ yo) and an infant (3yo) and hence i specially asked Dhanuka to provide me with a very caring driver. He totally did his 100% in this matter. We were allotted a Tourist board approved Chauffeur Mr. Ahamad who is GEM of a person! We felt very safe with him all through the tour and he went out of his way to help us all through the trip especially in getting good deals at sightseeing/activities and finding decent indian restaurants for lunch and dinner. He also very punctual and made sure we covered the entire itinerary and a few extra sightseeing places too! We visited Colombo, Pinnawala, Sigiriya, Trincomalee, Dambulla, Kandy, Kitugala Nuwara Eliya, Ella, Galle, Bentota. The White water rafting at Kitugala, water sports at Bentota, Zipline at Ella were highlights of the tour. Mr Dhanuka booked very good hotels offering breath taking views from the hotel rooms/windows and a very tasty breakfast in a decent budget. He even managed to get 6 train tickets for us on the Nanu oya - Ella train which was a beautiful train ride offering amazing views of tea plantations and waterfalls. Only one major hiccup i had in the tour was at the hotel in negombo - Hive 68 Hotel. Despite Hellow Travels requesting them for accessible room for my parents, the hotel staff allotted rooms in 2nd floor which was very upsetting. I hope Hellow travels' management takes the necessary action against them with regards to this matter. This was the first international trip to 4 of my family members and Mr. Dhanuka really made it a memorable one for them. I would 100% recommend Hellow Travels to any one planning to visit Sri Lanka without a second thought. We’re couple of experienced travelers, visited ~70 countries, but for sure this trip we’ll remember. We had the really amazing guide Thushara, who took care about us as we were his guests. We were able to rely on him and relax without focusing on organizational issues. He is really professional, knowledgeable, knows his job very well and really outstanding person. We miss you. Now we have the same type of tour in India and wish the current guide could be even compared with Thushara. From organizational point of view we really would like to thank to Hellow travel and particularly to Dhanuka: he double checked all details as soon we booked, find perfect hotels, mostly on hb basis (which were convenient, as hotels were mostly remote due to the specificity of the tour), great car for 2 (Toyota Prius), checked multiple times if we are ok on the tour. We visited Sri Lanka for 8 nights and 9 days through Hellow Travel. It was nothing less than perfection. It started even before we started our trip, from Visa suggestions to personalising our itinerary to suggesting what places we should and should not visit, they covered it all. Everything from the pick up to the drop off was taken care of and we had nothing to worry about. Special shout out to our travel guide Chinthakala, he was fabulous. Sri Lanka is a wonderful country rich in nature. The food is delicious and it's a nice country, so everyone should definitely go to Sri Lanka. The adventure with our guide Danuk was fun. Over the course of nine days, we covered the main spots. It was an exciting trip to Sri Lanka, filled with mountains, rivers, oceans, animals, and ruins.
Sri Lanka was more fun than I expected! The food was delicious and the people were kind. There was a lot to see and it was a fulfilling experience. Danuk was a very good guide. Thank you for a wonderful time.
Four families and eight couples went on an eight-night trip to Sri Lanka. It was my first trip to Sri Lanka, but I was very satisfied to experience authentic Ayurvida as it was a trip filled with ruins and nature and filled my heart.‼️ In particular, this time I asked Hello Traveler, who was very responsive and wonderful, and told the president what they wanted, and he listened to most of them. It was the most fulfilling and enjoyable trip I have ever had. In particular, Mr. Danuka from Hello Travel was very helpful, We have a few friends interested in going to Yukon, we had an amazing time! It was also the first time to experience Ayurveda, Shirodhara was also mystical and very pleasant and relaxing. We've had Seagulliers, we've had safaris in Jeeps.
