We spent nine days traveling around Sri Lanka with Imwaaz, and from the very beginning his service was professional, clear, and extremely reliable. He was always punctual, managed the time very well, and drove safely and responsibly at all times. You genuinely feel that safety comes first with him.
The car was always very clean and comfortable, and the air conditioning was kept on unless we asked otherwise. He always helped us with our luggage and simply would not let us carry it ourselves.
He was incredibly flexible with our plans. We changed destinations, hotels, and activities several times during the trip, and he handled every change patiently, professionally, and always with a smile. We even changed our original plans and went to Trincomalee partly based on his advice, and it turned out to be a very good decision.
What we appreciated most was that he never pressured us into choosing any restaurant, shop, hotel, or activity. He would give us options and honest advice, but the final decision was always ours. Sometimes he would even warn us when he felt a place was overpriced or simply not worth it.
After around nine years working in this field, his knowledge of Sri Lanka is impressive. He knows the roads, cities, local areas, attractions, restaurants, and many small details extremely well. He also has a wide network of contacts, so whenever we needed information or help, he could usually find an answer very quickly.
His recommendations were excellent. One moment that really showed how well he had come to understand our preferences happened when he recommended a place that we initially decided not to visit. He simply asked us to give him five minutes to show it to us, saying that he believed we would like it, and that if we did not, we could simply continue. We agreed, and it ended up being one of the most beautiful places we visited during the entire trip. We loved it so much that we would genuinely like to return there again. That moment showed us that he was not simply recommending places randomly; after spending several days with us, he had actually understood the kind of places we enjoy.
He was always available when we needed him, but at the same time he completely respected our privacy and personal space. He never interfered or asked unnecessary questions. During long drives, he was attentive to our comfort and always made it easy to stop for food, coffee, restrooms, photographs, or simply a short break.
He was consistently polite and respectful, even in the smallest details. If he needed a quick stop himself, even just to use the restroom, he would always ask very politely. He consistently addressed us respectfully as “Sir” and “Madam,” which reflects his courteous nature.
His English was very good, and communication was always easy and clear. He is patient, generous, and has a very pleasant and respectful sense of humor. He knows when to joke and when to remain professional. He also has a warm, genuine smile that rarely leaves his face, and it immediately makes you feel comfortable and at ease. Even when plans changed or situations became complicated, he remained calm, positive, and smiling.
On several occasions, he even bought small things for us using his own money, which was incredibly kind and showed his generous nature.
Two phrases of his quickly became part of our journey: “I will manage” and “I will show you, and you have the choice.” They actually describe his personality and working style perfectly. He always tries to find a solution, gives you his honest advice, shows you the available options, and still leaves the final decision completely to you.
We also had a very good experience with Sri Lanka Personal Tour Driver, the company that arranged our driver. The company was professional and well organized throughout the trip. They maintained regular follow-up with both us and the driver and received daily reports, which gave us an additional sense of reliability and reassurance throughout our journey.
By the end of the nine days, we did not feel that he was simply our driver. He became an important part of our experience in Sri Lanka and made the whole journey easier, safer, more comfortable, and much more enjoyable.
We would absolutely choose him again on our next visit to Sri Lanka and would recommend both him and Sri Lanka Personal Tour Driver without hesitation.
