Private Half-day Colombo City Tour

This was a wonderful introduction to Sri Lankan history as well as an excellent tour of the city! Our guide’s English was good and he took excellent care of us on this first venture! 💖

Had a great half day driving tour, particularly because of our tour guide Kuma. He was exceedingly knowledgeable about every site we visited and gave us a tour. He was also very flexible with the changes we wanted to make.

Perera was fantastic - a wealth of information along with all of the sights to go with it. We came in at 12PM, he picked us up with a sign at arrivals, and took us out on a great adventure. We were back to the airport at 6PM, right on time for our next flight.

excellent tour. driver was a great driver, nice air conditioned van. Got to a LOT of sites, which was great. Guide was excellent, great english, very informative, let us stop several places we had little stops we needed. Read our situation and could tell when we had seen enough and wanted to goto the next thing. Was happy, smily! Very informative lots of information. Acutally one of the best guides we've ever had. Highly reccomend.

We had the most amazing tour with Priyantha! He went above and beyond to make sure we were fully satisfied. We wanted some specific food so he researched restaurants for us to find the perfect place for us. He tailored the tour so it was absolutely perfect for us. He is a genuinely kind and thoughtful person who loves Sri Lanka and is incredibly knowledgeable about the country. We learned so much from him. I can’t recommend Priyantha enough!

Shimaz was an excellent tour guide. He was extremely friendly, has lived in the UK so is completely fluent in English and is an official government registered tour guide which was clear to see by the quality of the tour. He was very knowledgable about Sri Lanka and its history and very flexible on timings and itinerary options. We would thoroughly recommend to anyone looking for a great tour of Colombo!

I only had 12 hours in Colombo, so the Tour by Car was the perfect way to experience most of it in a short time! Kamal picked me up from the airport and drove me to the best sight seeing spots - always making sure where I want to go. The highlight was a drive to the beach where I could watch the sunset and even had a little swim. I don’t regret booking this tour with Sri Lanka By Car!

It was my first time in Colombo and Ushan really did a great job touring me and my friend in a private aircon car. Learned a lot about history of Sri Lanka and visited beautiful places within half day tour. The tours was brilliant, our guide was Ushan and he was so knowledgeable, we learnt so much, we just hope we can remember it all. The Gangaramaya Temple was definitely the highlight. A private tour was a great option, if you book this tour ask for Ushan.

We chose a private tour of Colombo and our tour guide was Ushan from Sri Lanka Car. It proved to be a wise decision as Ushan was a perfect tour guide and his car was a wonderful cool oasis. We either visited or drove past the usual spots, Independence square, the Lotus Tower, Khan clock tower, world trade centre, Old Dutch hospital, St Lucia's church, Berla Lake and the Red mosque. But the highlight was the Gangaramaya Temple which was magnificent, so much to see, so much history and we learnt so much from Ushan. A great tour, thank you.

The driver was very courteous and informative. He explained very clearly the history behind each sites and answered our questions. He was also very flexible with our requests and took us to an amazing gem store.

Our guide Tharaka M Perera picked us up from our hotel, our first stop the Aśōkārāma Temple. Tharaka told us about the history of Bhudism and how it came to Sri Lanka 2400 years ago, as well as the history of the temple. We also visited Independence Square and spent lots of time in the local markets - truly amazing. Tharaka never rushed us, was always helpful and showed his true love for Sri Lanka and its people the entire day. He is one of the best guides we've and highly recommend you request him by name if possible

Tour guide and driver not located at cruise ship or gate to port as noted in announcement by Viator. Tour never given or taken. Guide texted well after tour scheduled he/she was now at separate gate a long way from ship. Full refund requested and expected.

They truly respected my feelings and intentions, allowing me to enjoy my time at my own pace. Chiranth also took plenty of photos for me. From the time I began exchanging messages with this agency on Trip Advisor, they went above and beyond to accommodate my requests and make necessary arrangements. I already miss Sri Lanka and I'd love to spend more time there. Hope I can go back there again so soon! Highly recommend!

My driver Shimaz was fantastic at taking me to a range of very different sites, whilst giving me lots of information about each site and Sri Lanka in general. I didn’t have much time in Colombo, but this tour gave me a fantastic insight. Shimaz is also a fantastic photographer, capturing the day for future memories.

I booked this half day tour as I had one free day in Colombo and wanted to try and see as much as I could. I was lucky enough to have Shimaz as my tour guide- who made sure I made the most of my time in Colombo ! Shimaz took me to so many sites, while giving me lots of information about each site- and also about Sri Lanka in general. He was very kind, helpful and made my trip really enjoyable. The tour was amazing, as i got one of the best guides in there, Mr.Shimaz. He explained everything brilliantly and knows alot about the history. Best part is, he is very good photographer and will capture the best for you 👍🏻.
