This is the most special in this tour. Sri Dalada Maligawa or the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is a Buddhist temple in the city of Kandy, Sri Lanka. It is located in the royal palace complex of the former Kingdom of Kandy, which houses the relic of the tooth of the Buddha. Since ancient times, the relic has played an important role in local politics because it is believed that whoever holds the relic holds the governance of the country. Kandy was the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings and is a World Heritage Site mainly due to the temple.
from the view point you will see whole aria of Kandy city
you can visit around Kandy city for your shoppings
You will visit a tea factory and plantation in giragama to learn about ceylon tea processing and growing.
A theme park, symbolising an ancient village of Sri Lanka under the name "Ape Gama" was commissioned recently at Pinnawala, Visit other attractions where you need to visit

👍me and my wife had a excellent experience with anjushan on kandy day trip. We can highly recommend for others. Thank you❤️
We had an exceptionally fantastic experience in Sri Lanka. The guide Mr Yuraj Anju Shan made our stay an unbelievable one. His knowledge of the country and visit areas were well documented by him. He really went the extra mile to make us feel very comfortable. He is a thorough gentleman. At this rate will definitely reach higher levels. God bless him abundantly.
The whole trip was prepared perfect. We traveled group of four and timming Ana places were selected very good as well as accommodating. We had very good time together.
We had an excellent trip to Sri Lanka. Yuraj, our tour guide was very prompt and friendly. His car was very clean and spacious. He suggested visits based on our preferences and made sure to point out interesting places. He was very attentive to our needs. We will definitely recommend his tour services and he’ll be our ‘go to’ when we visit Sri Lanka again.
Yuraj is a fabulous driver and tour guide. He went above and beyond to make sure that we were all well taken care of. He made sure to check on our preferences, communicated to the vendors and gave us suggestions based on what we were looking for. He was timely, patient and pleasant. He is a safe driver and made sure that we were all comfortable . Our trip was made extra special because of him. We will definitely visit Sri Lanka again
Wonderful guide. I enjoyed the stops we made. The driver even customized my request. Definitely recommend for solo or couple.
Awesome private day tour with Dimuth to Kandy today. He is a tour guide/driver, provided lots of information about the places we were going, spoke better English than our previous driver from another company. Clean van, he is a safe driver in the country’s crazy traffic. We were looked after well with needs for washrooms, coverings to go inside the temple, umbrella for the rain. We had to pay to see the orphan elephants in Pinnawala, can pay extra to bathe the animals, bring spare clothes for this. Usual route to Kandy had a landslide, so we had to take a longer windy road, we then lost couple of hours because of the heavy traffic and missed some of the attractions. Temple of tooth relic need to remove shoes, cover arms and below knees; shawls at the entrance were arranged for us by Dimuth. He also took very nice photos of us. He toured us around the temple and explained lots of things. Buffet lunch had a great spread of food, you pay for drinks but there’s free coffee and tea. Bring spare money for tipping for the short massage at the herbal garden. 3-4hrs each spent on the road to Kandy and back to Colombo, raining in the afternoon to night, long day, got back to hotel past ten; still highly recommend this tour with Dimuth. Good to be prepared.
Thank you so much for giving us amazing experience. Our day trip from Colombo was excellent with Harsha, he was our driver and guide too, his knowledge about the country was perfect. Always smile and funny person. We can highly recommend them.
An unforgettable day in Srilank, thanks to Dimuth. He was adorable honest, and always caring. He introduced me to the history of the city kandy and all unique place with magical experience: feeding elephants, preparing their energy mixture, walking alongside them and even swimming with them... a dream awakened! Dimuth thought of everything, even taking great pictures for me. And the icing on the cake: the food was excellent, varied, consistent and absolutely delicious! Everything was perfectly organized and authentic. I would highly recommend Dimuth to anyone who wants to have a memorable experience in Srilanka Thank you for a fantastic day.
Thank you very much Dimuth , for you gave us really unforgettable a lot of memories whole our trip , I highly recommend to all your service and use the way of your valuable experience ,🙏
My special thanks to the excellent tour guide Mr. Dimuth, who gave me a collection of unforgettable and beautiful experiences in my life, the time I spent with beautiful people in a beautiful country. I will never forget getting up close to beautiful animals, especially elephants, and experiencing their way of life. I will never forget to visit Sri Lanka again.... Best regards, Dimuth, we will meet again.... Jonathan Auburn.
I booked kandy day trip with this company for my family, it was excellent with the well experienced chauffeur Dimuth He is a reliable, honest and knowledgeable person, gave us more experiences than the tour itinerary. We can highly recommend them. Thank you.
Wow, crazy traffic to and from Kandy. The local buses speed and are have their own road rules. I could see myself on the RH passenger side being wiped out, but thankfully Dimuth was a good driver and got us back safely to the port in the thunderstorm. It’s over 3 hours each way to Kandy, so we didn’t have a lot of time there, just mostly nice viewpoints, around the lake and Big Buddha. It isn’t really the highlands and is still very hot. Lunch was good in a restaurant dedicated to tour buses and day trippers. The Spice Garden 23 is OK, but don’t believe the owner’s claims of university qualified masseurs and government owned/sanctioned operations. Head, neck, backs and hands massage is ‘complimentary’ but a substantial tip is expected. Products other than straight spices are expensive and unproven. It’s one of those commission stops. The elephant walk to the river for a bath is a nice spectacle at Pinnewalla and we enjoyed the tea factory visit, where we bought too much! Good gifts though.
The trip itself was good, elephant Orphanage is a must they are beautiful. My issue is upon return & looking at what should have been included we didn't visit Ape Gama therefore no tickets purchased (no refund either) We also booked an over night stay in Kandy with Sigiriya & Dambulla we did not go to Dambulla (this time our choice) again no refund as they buy tickets on arrival. Therefore around $52 £40 or 16000LKR was pocketed by the guide or company. We also didn't get any time in Kandy to walk about and visit any shops.
Thank you very much for giving me a excellent service for m'y trip. My second visit to Sri Lanka was amazing with you. Aging thanks for all services. All the best
We had a great day visiting Kandy and sites along the way, Dimuth tailored the tour to our needs - would highly recommend
This was an excellent day trip. We fed the elephants at the pinnawala orphanage ( amazing expwrience) then went to the tea factory which was really intetesting. Next onto Kandy and spent a lovely couple of hours in the beautiful botanical gardens before going to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth. Driver was helpful informative and flexible. Would highly recommend this trip...excellent value for money and passed through some stunning scenery.
Our guide and driver Dimuth was very keen and attentive to ensure our tour delivered all we aiming to see and do. He was flexible with the plan to suit us and offered great commentary with excellent English about the area, and life in Sri Lanka. We'd recommend Dimuth and tour company.
I booked them for a friend of mine. Have given the excellent service. My friend were really happy with ceylenese tour. Thank you very much
The tour was successfully done. It was very efficient and professional tour arrangement and service indeed. The tour sights are interesting and the Elephant ride was incredible. Lunch is very clean and delicious in traditional taste. Tour Driver Mahesh is sincere, charming, patient, service minded and professional. He is the best. Thanks indeed for your kind management and arrangement. We will recommend your tours to our friends for sure. Thanks Dimuth…
We had a great day outing to kandy which is the most exciting experience in Sri Lanka. Good tour guide with safe driving. And highly recommend. Thanks a lot 👍
I felt verry safe as a solo girl traveler. Dimuth was a very knowledgeable, honest, Friendly guide/driver. Language skills is very good. Visited many places over the itinerary Thank you very much for giving a great experience. Highly recommend the best tour company in Srilanka
Specially thanks to Mr Dimuth to arranging the best tour guide Pasindu. he is a person who have good knowladge about srilanka, verry friendly, helpfull person. Our day tour to kandy from colombo with this tour company was excellent. we visited pinnawala, tea factory and plantation, temple of the tooth relics, all kandy city from one view point, few other places and back to colombo, gave us a good buffet lunch in oak ray restaurant.
Me and my friend visited Sri Lanka on December, wanted a tour to Kandy. we contacted Dimuth true a friend, he gave us all details and made the tour as we wished. finally he became our best friend in Srilanka. thanks and highly recommend.
Thank you for all helps. We are a couple visited to srilanka in December and booked kandy day trip with sanjeewa, gave us a good experience of tea factory, herbal Garden, temple of the tooth relic. Enjoyed an Excellent buffet lunch in Oak Ray restaurant. Our driver very knowledgeable and always in happy mood. Thank you very much for Good service. Highly recommend.
Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by dimuth.our names were mentioned on the board and we felt welcomed and with such a friendly atmosphere we had a fantastic start! The guide and tour was extremely good, very flexible (appreciate this!) Dimuth is such a warm personality and highly motivated guide (recommendable!). I truly enjoyed Kandy tour. The atmosphere is so special that it really felt like home to all of us. All respect for dimuth who does a great job there; a true sample of excellent tour guide! Many thanks again and I recommend Guide to everyone!
Very good experience. Good service and humble man. Very friendly. He did more than expected. This is the place to visit srilanka. Highly recommend
The tour guide was friendly & flexible on start time since this was a private tour & we arrived late previous night in Colombo. We went to Elephant Orphanage, Kandy & Tooth Relic Temple. The tour guide also took us to Spice Market which was a waste of our time since it seemed to be a way to con tourists into buying expensive ayurvedic herbal medicines otherwise available everywhere, the prices were 3 times here! The guide also took us to a mediocre lunch spot which is where all tour buses were stopping by for buffet lunch. The meal was also finished by the time we got there. At the Buddha temple, we got a temple guide who apparently only shows to diplomats & was free that day for a tour. He also was expecting crazy tip for narrating the story of Buddha. Overall the trip could have been better, the best part was the elephant orphanage which was not on the itinerary and we requested to visit.
I booked the tour through TripAdvisor n I am glad I did because I had such a wonderful experience! The drive to Kandy from Colombo is about roughly 3-4 hours depending on your itenary. Pasindo my chauffeur cum guide reported sharp at 6.30 a.m at the hotel for my trip. Since i couldn't have breakfast so early in the morning Pasindo stopped enroute at a local diner/restaurant for a buffet bf and water/snacks. Along the route Pasindo explained to me the USPs of each place and what they were famous for such as known for their pineapple produce, cashew production, local mask and crafts production etc. Our first pitstop was the Pinnawala elephant orphanage where we saw the elephants heading to the river for their bath. Next we stopped at the Spice Garden where a demonstration of local spices and herbs endemic to Sri Lanka and especially used in Ayurveda was shown. Buying products is voluntary but I did buy some medicines for my sinus and migraines. Best part about this is the complimentary foot massage I got ! The next stop was a stop at the tea factory.... A good presentation and tour of how Ceylon tea is produced was given. One has the option of buying premium Ceylon tea as well. It was already noon time by the time we reached Kandy after these tours and so I had lunch at around 1 pm at the well known Oak way hotel. I had a sumptuous lunch at a table facing the grand Mahue river. After this we headed to the Temple of Sacred Tooth wherein a detailed guided tour of the temple premises was provided. Unfortunately because of the afternoon timings I couldn't view the inner sanctorum where the original tooth relic is kept. After presenting my offerings at the temple we headed for a quick tour of Kandy Lake....by this time the Weather Gods had become impatient and it started pouring cats and dogs. Due to this and since it was getting dark i couldn't explore any more of Kandy city and headed back to Colombo. This tour is well structured and one gets a chance to experience the diferent socio cultural aspects of Sri Lanka.Though the pitstops are obvious sales pitches the option to buy is voluntary. Pasindo was very cordial and gracious all through the trip and ensured my comfort and interests were taken care of during the entire trip. All in all highly recommended 👍
Great Trip . Pasindu was a good guide and helped in getting everything we wanted . Only lunch at oak bay could have been better . Staff at the hotel were not welcoming of tourists . Otherwise , had a superb day of visiting temples ,heritage village , tea factory , watching elephants .
I contacted the tour company after my original company let me down to arrange an excursion for the following morning. Dimuth was able to save the day by arranging a full tour within a few hours. He was very accommodating, professional and easy to speak to. The tour guide went beyond the call of duty and adapted our day according to our changing needs. He put all of his heart and soul into making sure we had the best experience. The tour guide even added items to the agenda which took the overall tour at least four hours after the allotted time. We went to the Elephant Orphanage, the Spice and Herbal garden, Tea fields and factory and The Tooth Relic Temple. At each stop, Dimuth ensured there was a tour guide with expert knowledge to ensure we got the most of the experience. The tour started at 06:30 and we lasted until 22:00. We used the same operator for the remainder of our stay and were not let down. Highly recommend
We made it very very clear to the driver that we do Not wish to visit the Gems factory and complimentary Spice garden...... Also, since this a private tour, you can skip the Cashew market and Pineapple market. This will leave you with more time at the ELEPHANT ORPHANAGE. The Elephant Orphanage has all the usual activities - Feeding an elephant, bathing an elephant, riding an elephant etc etc. Our guide was knowledgeable and spoke fairly good English. He explained in detail, the history of the TOOTH RELIC Temple and also pointed out the scars of the LTTE attacks. He told us the various mythological and colonial stories associated with the TOOTH relic. We went to the KANDY view point and opted to go to LANKATILAKA. Lankatilaka is a very picturesque hill and the hill-top temple is dedicated to King Vibheeshan, the brother of King Raavan.
Day Tour to Kandy from Colombo with Dimuth was excellent and I highly recommend this tour for anyone who is looking for a day trip from Colombo. Dimuth is highly professional and will provide good local information as well.
The whole trip to Kandy was really memorable and since it is a private tour, it suits our needs perfectly. The guide brought us to interesting places along the way to discover more about Sri Lanka.
I really enjoyed every single thing it was amazing and fun I didn't expect it would be thus way And much more apparitions to my friend demot thnx alot for everything
Great day out despite the heavy rain. My guide Dimuth was fantastic, great fun and he really made the day enjoyable.
Dimuth was a great tour guide - he tailored the tour to my preferences and clearly explained the historical / cultural background to sites we visited. I felt very comfortable throughout the tour to Kandy (and enjoyed seeing the Spice Gardens, Tea Factory, Temple of the Sacred Tooth, a diamond museum and the viewpoint in Kandy) and can highly recommend booking the tour with Dimuth - he is very lovely and you’ll have a great time!
Tooth Relic Temple tour was really great. Very knowledgeable and caring tour guide. The situation in Sri Lanka is quite normal except lines for petrol in few places.
This was a very busy, but great day! The tour guide accommodated my requests and we were able to see everything on my list. He was very informative and I had a wonderful experience.
Specially thanks Mr dimuth, gave us a grand day trip in this situation we were afraid to travel but we felt very safe to travel in the country. Still srilanka is a very safe country to travel. We can recommend dimuth to whom searching an honest, knowledgeable, well understanding guide.
The trip was great from start to finish. The guide/ driver was very informative and helpful. The sites were great and we got to learn about some things innate to the culture. It was a good experience
I used this company for all my travel needs during a 2 week period. From the airport to Negombo, then to Sigiriya and Kandy over to Colombo. Then from Colombo to Kalutara and then back to the airport. Excellent service all round, safely driven, and nothing was too much trouble for the driver for our comfort and safety.
one of the highlights of our entire Srilanka trip. 100% worth the long drive from Colombo. Our driver was experienced, thoughtful, knowledgeable and considerate. we enjoyed all of attractions of the tour . we can highly recommend this tour company
Excellent service. We booked kandy day with them, gave us a great experiences of kandy temple of the tooth relics, Herbert Garden, tea factory and plantation, and sow lots of elephant on the road. Specially thanks for driver(he was very safe, and knowledgeable driver) Highly recommend.
We are a fmily with 4 adults, booked day trips in Colombo with this tour operator as my friend recommended. It was a fantastic day tour, he took us many attractive places and view points more than the itinerary. Dimuth was a very friendly, honest and professionals person. Vehicle was very spacious and comfortable. We can highly recommend
Had a solo trip so I had to pay a bit more (as expected) but it was still worth it. The guide was friendly and really nice. As I was alone we had some extra time so the guide took me to a few places that was not part of the package which I really appreciated (self paid) Overall a great trip. A few things to note: It may not seem far, but the traffic is really bad so expect a long day and drive (pick up at 6 am and arrived back at the hotel at 9:30pm (in Colombo). As mentioned in the notes, everyone expects to be tipped and there are also quite a few nice things that you may want to buy (not every place excepts cards) so make sure to take enough cash. It may feel like it but don’t be pressured into buying things you don’t really want. If you have a day to spend in Sri Lanka this one is definitely recommended.
Dimuth is an amazing guy. Friendly, loyal, a man of integrity and good character, an Expert for Kandy day tour. Pinnawala, herbal garden, Tea factory, Temple of tooth, were excellent.buffet lunch was delicious too. Went the extra miles for me as I wanted to see something els. Gave me everything I desired and more. Felt safe on the tour amidst the chaotic traffic and crazy bus drivers :) He looks after you so well. Was well prepared . Highly recommended.
We came to Sri Lanka by cruise ship (Tui Mein Schiff 6). Unfortunately, the cruise ship did not provide a shuttle service out of the port area, so had to pay for a taxi (they accept US Dollars and Euros) to get to gate 1A (asking price is 10 USD). We eventually made it to Gate 1A, where we met Dimuth, our driver and tour guide. The van was big and comfortable and the air conditioner worked well. First stop was the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage - there is an option to either go to a cultural village or the Elephant Orphanage due to some of the controversy around animal cruelty. Reading the Lonely Planet guide book and other news sources, the orphange is taking all measures to ensure the elephants are being treated well (or at least better). The second stop was the Island Herbal Garden. We experienced a quick tour of plants and then a 10 minute head, shoulder and leg massage. Please be prepared to be sold some of the Aruvedic medicine at the end of the tour. Prices aren't cheap, especially for Sri Lanka but best to be prepared of the sales effort. The third stop was a modest but good buffet lunch at a hotel in Kandy, with a nice selection of Sri Lankan vegetable curries. For those not wanting something too spicy, there is also a selection of more Western dishes. The fourth stop was to the Buddhist Tooth Temple in Kandy. You don't actually get to see the tooth - just the shrine, which is still very nice. Because we had some slow walkers, we weren't able to stop by the tea museum. All in all, Dimuth was a great driver and tour guide and went above and beyond to get us back to the cruise ship on time. There were no cabs or any way to get to the ship other than walk (almost 2 km, but too far if with kids or older).
Fially we had a Fantastic day tour with them. Our friendly guide/driver took us many of places on the way to Kandy. We had a delicious lunch in the restaurant located top of the mountain. Dimuth is really knowledgeable and very helpful person. Highly recommend .
