Our child had an absolute blast and felt so well cared for throughout the trip! This was a great way to explore the city of Colombo and Sri Lanka culture. My guide Shifan was amazing! He was very insightful regarding the history and culture of all of the spots we visited in the city. The mosques, temples, government buildings, beaches, and sights were excellent. Colombo really is a beautiful city with an amazing history!

My late night departure flight time allowed for space in my itinerary for a day tour of the nation's capital, Colombo. As the rest of our tour had been organised through Red Dot Tours, I asked them to organise this. Red Dot sent through a comprehensive proposed itinerary, allowing me to choose places of interest. They accommodated my request to see some of Geoffrey Bawa's architecture as well, and team member Dhanushika booked a tour of his residence on my behalf. In addition to this, my day included the Galle Face Hotel, Galle Face Green, Dutch Hospital, Grand Oriental Hotel, Red Mosque, Hindu Kovil, Town Hall, Independence Square, Bandaranayake Conference Hall (BMICH), the Lotus Tower, Prime Minister's Residence, Gangarama Temple. Some of the above we visited on foot, some we drove past either by car or tuk tuk. My Driver/Guide Jagath was excellent - not only was he a respectful, polite, educated and knowledgeable gentleman, but he organised lunch at an authentic Tamil Hindu restaurant which was so interesting, and a highlight of the day. He illuminated me about Sri Lanka's fascinating history and culture which further added to my overall experience of this wonderful country. My day ended with a mid afternoon stay (approximately 5 hours) stay at the Granbell Hotel where I was able to rest, shower and have a meal. The hotel was very well appointed but a minor criticism is that it was a bit noisy being close to the railway line. My Driver/Guide then collected me from the hotel to drive me to the airport. Thanks Red Dot for a wonderful day and bonus add-on to my preceding 2 week tour of Sri Lanka. Red Dot is a professional locally based tour group operator whom I heartily recommend.

We booked airport transfers, a day trip, and a multi-day trip outside of Colombo through Rumi. The coordination for each booking was straightforward, and when we needed to book activities for our tours, the team organised this as well and were very flexible with the schedule. Most of the drivers arrived on time, and were helpful. The coordinating team were proactive in sending us updates ahead of time on the type of vehicle arriving for pick-up, the drivers details, and their ETA which we also gave us a lot of confidence in their services.
Great way to explore Columbo if you're short on time. My driver, Dhananjaya, and I covered several points of interest in a few hours. The value was good for the cost of the tour.
This was a custom- private tour for a few hours in Columbo. Our driver was a few minutes late which left us to the harassment of many taxi drivers looking for a fare - which was concerning. But once we connected, the car was clean, spacious, and our driver was excellent! Geemal gets the highest recommendation for safely navigating the traffic and being fully attentive to our requests. We had a nice time recommend this tour. Note: Taxi drivers were offering tours for $10…..but buyer beware!!!

Sudharshan was an incredible guide, 5-stars all the way. He arrived/was waiting for us with a very nice and comfortable vehicle full of snacks and water. As the tour was private, he modified it easily to our liking. Along the way, he offered fresh coconuts in a market and purchased the most lovely ice cream in Port City. We weren’t hungry but there were tons of delicious looking food options I would like to try on our next visit. We arrived via cruise for only the day, but my husband and I plan to return in the future for a much longer visit. Overall, this was a wonderful tour and I would highly recommend it.

Wow! Rumi’s guided tour of Colombo was absolutely amazing. We were able to see everything on my bucket list and much much more. Our recent 5-day trip to Sri Lanka was a delightful experience. We were captivated by the country’s lush greenery, well-maintained infrastructure, and the warm, courteous nature of its people. After arriving in Colombo on April 22nd, we visited a serene Buddha temple before heading to the coastal town of Bentota. The beach was beautiful, and the boat ride on the scenic River Madhu was truly unforgettable, with picturesque views all around. We then spent two days in the charming hill station of Nuwara Eliya, where we visited Ashoka Vatika and the Sita Rama temple. There, we were deeply moved to have darshan of the footprints of Hanuman ji, along with the idols of Rama, Sita, and Lakshman. The calm and pleasant nature of the people we met throughout the trip added to our joy. About the Driver: For the entire duration of our trip, we hired a taxi through TravelBeingdom, and we were fortunate to have Mr. Rumi as our driver. Dhananjaya was great, very courteous, friendly and accommodating. He went out of his way to show us the sights we wanted to visit. Unfortunately we ran out of time to see everything, maybe we should have spent less time at the tourist trinket store which we thought was overpriced (even though we had an 8 hour tour, there was more traffic on a Friday work week than we expected) we didn’t want to miss our cruise ship🤣. All in all we were very happy. The agency TravelbeindoM was great with communication and made sure to send pics of car/license plate and pick up point . This private tour is flexible and covers what I want to see. I skip the shippings and added Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara. Dhanjanjaya was my guide. He is friendly and made sure my visit is nice.
Driver turned up at the port gate late, which was disappointing as we had got up at 06.30 to ensure we were there on time. (08.00 start). After several calls to the booking site to ask if he was due to arrive, he finally did. Strolled casually up, not a murmur of an apology. As we had booked a car and driver we fully expected a commentary to what he was taking us to see. limitedEnglish, very little explanation....dropped off at each place and rather than wait he went away, we assume so as not to have to pay a small parking fee. went to the zoo/botanical garden. (We love gardens) relatively expensive to go in, and tbh we left, my wife was almost in tears at the conditions the animals were kept in. It represented everything a zoo should not be, small enclosures on concrete, ostriches with no feathers, and the birds showing signs of massive distress. We cut the trip short avoiding the shops he wanted to take us to.
This was our 3rd trip to Colombo so we thought we'd pretty much seen most of the city. Our guide, Shifan, really proved us wrong! Not only did he show us a side of the city we hadn't known (and sites new to us), he did it with lots of information and a comprehensive plan. Truly a wonderful day with an exceptional guide.
