Our Colombo City Tour was one of the best experiences of our trip. The driver arrived exactly on time, was very friendly, and shared interesting stories about the city's history and culture throughout the day. We visited beautiful landmarks, enjoyed the ocean view at Galle Face, explored busy local streets, and had enough time to take photos without feeling rushed. The vehicle was clean and comfortable, making the journey relaxing from start to finish. Everything was well organized, and we felt safe during the entire tour. If you want to see the real beauty of Colombo with a professional and helpful driver, I highly recommend this tour. It was an unforgettable day and definitely worth every minute

Itinerary
Meet up with your group in the early morning at your Hotel, Before boarding your tuk tuk for the day, take a short walk through the city’s central business district, where you’ll admire a number of colonial buildings.
Continue aboard your motorized ride as you check out city sights like Colombo Harbour, the Fort Clock Tower, Colombo Lighthouse, and the President’s House. Then pass by Chatham Street, a now-trendy area that was off-limits for many years due to Sri Lanka’s civil war. Proceed from there to Pettah, a Colombo neighborhood that’s known for its diverse range of market stalls and the Red Mosque. Stop for 20 to 30 minutes to grab some street snacks or shop for bargains. As your nimble tuk tuk ducks and weaves in between people, buses and bikes, you’ll zoom onward to visit Wolvendaal Church, a colonial-era Dutch structure that dates back more than 360 years. Take a look at the church’s collection of old tombstones from the city’s historic Dutch governors and then have a talk with the church keeper, who can share insights into city history and culture.
Head next to Sri Kaileshwarm Kovil (Captain’s Garden Hindu Temple), the main worship site for Colombo residents, and then proceed to Independence Square, the location where Sri Lanka proclaimed its independence from British rule in 1948.
Srilanka has its finest Gem Industry and the Island was called "Island Of Gems" at Ancient times. You will be taken to a Gem Museum to see the History of Gem with Cutting and Polishing experience
Head to a Tea Factory where you can get the experience of pure Ceylon Tea with tasting it (Chocolate, Vanilla, Strawberry) are very famous flavours among them
Make the last stop of the day at Gangaramaya Temple, one of the most important Buddhist temples in Colombo. Explore the architecture and paintings of this religious site before cross the street to Bera Lake, where you can learn more about the some of the contemporary issues like pollution facing city residents. Finish the trip with a drop-off back at your original starting point.

A great tip around Colombo with Aashik. He was very knowledgeable and pointed out many sights. Lots of stops and places visited, no way would you find them on your own. Definately worth the money and highly recomended.
Aashik gave us a really nice Tuk tuk tour of Colombo, covering all the main sites. He gave also us a good description of some of the history of areas of the city. The driver he had was quite adept at navigating the Colombo traffic. He was very adaptable to change the tour to suit our requests. Since we are birders we wanted to see some of the bird life in the city so he led us through Victoria Park and stopped at a river to see some of storks and pelicans there. I would recommend getting Aashik as your tour guide
Not what was advertised. The tour guide left me with the driver about 5 minutes into the tour. The driver drove me around to a couple sites…not sure what we were passing because there wasn’t any information about the locations. The gem museum and tea shop were just tourist traps with high pressure sales. Then the driver dropped me off at the hotel after 2 hours and didn’t take me to the most interesting stop on the itinerary. But I bought the driver a coconut so we enjoyed that together. All in all it felt like a scam. I would not use this company.
Our trip was enjoyable. Our guide and driver were pleasant and knowledgeable of the city. They tried hard to take care of us. Only complaint was that too much of the tour was dropping us off at a tea shop and a gem store that they said was a museum but it was just at store with very persistent salesmen. We got good pictures at highlight spots. Booking with Viator was good. When we had confusion on pickup spot tour company answered the phone and worked it out.
I booked about $1000.00 in tours this trip with Viator. Had to cancel this tour because our ship arrived very late & all of our scheduling needed to be changed.I gave King fisher tours 20 hrs notice & not 24 because we were on the ocean with no internet or calling ability. They refused to give a refund based on their 24 hour notice. HOW INFLEXIBLE ARE THEY? 4 hours !!!!! I have tried to speak to a CSR to no avail. Everyone is at a call center in the PHillipines with a scripted response. I am very frustrated & can't imagine we have NO USA management to address this issue!!!!!
We had a kind, professional and attentive driver. I highly recommend this tour. Our itinerary took us to all of the highlights. We especially enjoyed the temples. And it was wonderful taking a tour of Colombo in a Tuk Tuk. Definitely try this if you are in Colombo.
Good communication pre tour .Driver didn’t introduce himself .No commentary ,said was Englishspeaking guide .Would have been better if explained route, points of interest ,looked intetested in his job.Asked for tip at the end .Such a shame as Viator always use excellent companies .
Good service from Aashik, a young and knowledgeable local entrepreneur! Pick up right at the cruise ship, great city tour, extra time at no charge. We highly recommend this tour
I booked this late on a Friday night for the following morning, and the communications worked well and my driver, Feros, was in contact early so I was reassured of the booking. The tour was fun! Tuk Tuk travel is like nothing else, and it’s amazing how it all works. Feros was very knowledgeable and attentive to my needs as a first timer in Colombo, and he took care of all aspects of the activity. He took me to each of the major sightseeing attractions and as I was a single traveller he kindly took photos of me in a various locations and sent them later via WhatsApp. This was very helpful and has allowed me to share my experience with family and friends. The tour ended, as with all these tours, with visits to shops where goods were demonstrated in the hope that I would buy. There was not, however, a very hard sell, which was a better experience than I have had before. I was dropped back at my starting point some 3 1/2 hours or so later, better for my experience!
Got a nice TukTuk driver, who gave e some valuable background information and made this trip much more amazing.
What an absolute tour we had! I have no words to thank this company and Aashik who accompanied us with all our requirements regarding the tour in Colombo and Aashik planned everything and arranged us a tuk tuk to sightsee the busy hustling city. We visited Local Markets, famous Temples and Gem Shops for purchasing. Our Guide was perfectly handling us being flexible with all our requirements and making sure that we are comfortable. His english was so fluent and his guiding is very clear. Thanks to Kingfisher and Aashik for this tour. We will definitely come back and visit this country on a round tour soon
My friend and I elected this tour before arriving. The day before, we noticed we booked the wrong date! Not only did the owner help us reorganise the tour promptly, he also ensured we could both afford it and that we had the best service possible. Our tour guide Farahmasi was super lovely and knowledgable. He arrived promptly and offered us many services outside of the tour inclusions! Near the conclusion of our trip he also offered to drive us to Hikkaduwa for a great price! Not only did we have a lovely tour, but we had a lovely day travelling and meeting locals along the way! We thoroughly enjoyed the tour and service offered by the company, the personable nature of staff and owner and the prices! Highly recommend! - Georgia (Australia)
The tuk tuk tour was thoroughly enjoyable, and my driver was very well informed and a lovely companion throughout the tour.
We took this morning tour as an introduction to Colombo as we just moved here for a year. Quick response from the company when I had questions about a pick-up place since we were not at a hotel. Our guide, Shiyam, was awesome. Pick-up was right on time. He explained sites as we drove by and was an excellent guide when we went into temples, quietly explaining the traditions, etc. We did not feel rushed and he said several times that he could take us to other places of interest if we wanted. He is an experienced driver (20+ years) and we felt safe as he weaved in and out of traffic along with the rest of the tuk tuks and cars. It was enjoyable to talk with him about many things throughout the morning. He also bought us a bottle of water, refusing payment, when we mentioned we were getting thirsty. I highly recommend this tour!
Excellent tour. Our driver Shyam, spoke very good English and was very knowledgeable about the city. Tour was 4 hours long. Shyam was extra diligent to tailor the tour to our interests. We visited temples, the museum and a tea shop and never felt rushed to move on. I recommend this tour- remember to ask for Shyam!
I'll start by saying that the Tuk Tuk is an experience that anyone going to Sri Lanka should make sure they experience. Combine that with a tour of Colombo, and you're in for an interesting time! My guide, Shaya, was very knowledgeable on the area and made sure I got a thorough feel of the area. He was very accomodating, allowing me to spend as much time as I liked at the stops we made, and took input from me as to anything in particular that I was wanting to see. He went above and beyond, though, allowing for me to make a quick pit stop at a Mobitel shop to sort out an issue with my travel SIM, and even helped me arrange a car to drive me to Unawatuna that evening. Highly recommend this tour for anyone that wants to get a feel for the city of Colombo in a short time, without the hassle of trekking around on your own.
Perfect organization and timing. Very nice and experienced driver and guide. Guide is happy to respond to individual requests without further ado. Can only be recommended.
