⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had a wonderful experience at Sofia Colombo City Hotel! The atmosphere was lovely, and the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and professional. The service was excellent, and we truly appreciated the warm hospitality throughout our stay. Everything was well organized, making our experience comfortable and enjoyable. A big thank you to the entire team for making us feel so welcome. We would definitely recommend this place and would love to come back!
Extremely disappointing experience and an absolute ******* disgrace in terms of hospitality, professionalism, and respect for guest privacy. On one occasion, the reception staff attempted to demand payment simply because I wanted to visit a friend who was already staying at the hotel as a registered guest. The staff, including Sadeesh, appeared unable to provide a clear and reasonable explanation for this demand. Even more disturbingly, staff reportedly entered my newly married friend’s room at night without knocking while he was inside with his wife. This is a serious concern regarding guest privacy and professional conduct. A security policy should never be an excuse for disregarding basic manners and personal boundaries. On another visit, I experienced an unnecessarily complicated and time-consuming identification process for a pre-booked massage appointment. Reception demanded my NIC photocopy, full name, and signature, causing unnecessary delays and disrupting my schedule. A hotel claiming to offer quality hospitality should prioritise professionalism, efficiency, and respect. Management urgently needs to investigate these incidents, review its procedures, and properly train its staff. Absolutely unacceptable. I expect better standards and accountability from a professional hotel.
Had an amazing dinner experience at Sophia Colombo City Hotel! The food was excellent, the atmosphere was lovely, and the service was truly top-notch. We had a wonderful experience at Sophia Colombo City Hotel for our bride-to-be celebration. There were eight of us, and we ordered four high tea platters (Rs. 3,800 each), which were perfect for sharing between two people. The food was delicious, and the portions were just right. What made the experience even more special was the exceptional service. The staff were incredibly friendly and supportive, and they even helped us decorate the venue for our celebration. Before the event, they invited us to visit the location so we could check the space and confirm our reservation, which was a thoughtful touch. The hotel also has a private area that can be reserved for intimate celebrations. It was peaceful, beautifully maintained, and included a lovely balcony with a stunning ocean view, making the atmosphere even more memorable. I highly recommend Sophia Colombo City Hotel for private celebrations such as bridal showers, birthdays, anniversaries, or high tea gatherings. Thank you to the team for making our day so special!
I went to Sofia Colombo City Hotel for a two-day workshop yesterday and today. The whole experience was outstanding, especially because of the exceptional service of the staff. Right when I arrived and the staff learned I am blind, Ms. Jayalatha Mendis from reception came over and offered her elbow in a very professional way to guide me. I was honestly surprised to see such well-trained help right from the beginning. She checked on me again in the evening yesterday and today as well, always asking kindly if I needed any assistance. Her genuine care and consistent help made moving around the hotel easy and comfortable. This kind of thoughtful service really adds huge value to the hotel. Today, supporting people with disabilities is not just kindness, it’s good business that brings in more guests and creates positive experiences. I strongly recommend Sofia Colombo City Hotel to everyone, especially local and international visitors who are visually impaired or have other disabilities. You will feel welcome and properly looked after here. Thank you to the team. I will definitely come back.
