This hotel is rated as four star, however it barely passes as two star. Very old, dated and run down. We had two rooms. Both rooms we couldn't adjust the aircons. One room freezing, the other hot. My room had a ceiling light that didn't turn off. After one night trying to sleep with the light on, they removed a globe leaving a hole in the ceiling. Pool area very underwhelming. Need to make it more appealing with nice pot plants and deck chairs. The buffet breakfast was ok. We had to change rooms for our last night as we booked late. The room was so mouldy we could literally write our names on the wall in the mould.
I had a pleasant experience at Mirage Hotel Colombo, especially at the restaurant during lunchtime. It is a great place to stop by for a good lunch, with a comfortable and welcoming atmosphere.
The food was tasty and well prepared, with good flavours and satisfying portions. Everything we tried was enjoyable, and the overall quality of the meal made the lunch experience quite pleasant.
The ambiance was another highlight. The restaurant has a calm, comfortable, and elegant setting, making it suitable for enjoying a relaxed meal with family, friends, or colleagues. It doesn’t feel overly crowded, which adds to the overall dining experience.

I stayed at Mirage Hotel Colombo in Wellawatte and had a very pleasant experience.Clean and comfortable rooms with beautiful sea views. The staff were friendly, professional, and always helpful. Check-in and check-out were smooth. Food was tasty with good variety and the infinity pool with ocean view was a highlight. Location is perfect, right near the beach and close to the city with lots of dining options nearby. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Colombo and would stay here again.
My overall stay was okay. 😊 The rooms were quite good, clean and comfy but it's very old. Bathroom fittings was not up to the mark. The service was alright; some staff were helpful, others less so. 😐 However, the location was fantastic, really convenient! 🗺️ It was easy to get around. 🚶
I stayed at this hotel for one night. The room was spacious and had the basic amenities required for a short stay.
However, I was disappointed with several aspects of my stay. When I called to book the room, I was informed that it had a city view. After entering the room, I realized there was no view at all. When I opened the window, all I could see was the apartment building next door, which was very disappointing.
The air conditioning worked, but it was quite noisy. There were also noticeable train sounds coming into the room, which made it difficult to relax. Only bath towels were provided — there were no face towels. In addition, the hot water was not functioning properly.
Overall, while the room was spacious, there are several areas that need improvement to ensure a more comfortable guest experience.
