Most Roman ruins are not visible; the tour requires a lot of imagination. Had trouble with the maps linking to the GPS, which made navigation difficult.

I had an amazing time on the audio tour in Cologne, diving into its rich Roman history. The narration was super engaging. Definitely worth it!
We started in a place other than the cathedral and it was hard to figure out how to walk backwards with this audio tour (other tours make it much easier to map out and choose beginning places). Also, the tour was a bit boring truth be told.
We were looking for something to do on New Year’s Day whilst most things were closed and this was perfect. Got to see some hidden gems in Cologne that you wouldn’t have otherwise come across and the app is really easy to use once you get used to the voice directions. Would recommend to anyone that would rather take a tour at their own pace.
I really enjoyed learning about the Roman history of Köln with extra information that I wouldn’t have had if not for the tour. Highly recommended!
Disappointing, because I thought that it would be available once downloaded on our phone, but it required constant data/internet access as it was supposed to track your location. Didn't work for us, though, since we had no internet access.
I live in cologne for almost 30 years and there were a few things I didn't know.. like the Höherstraße and the Gürzenich
Thank you for the history to at helped me understand what I saw when I walked around Cologne. So many layers of history!
Really want to give a better review but spotty GPS and weak instructions detract. App and contents were pre-downloaded, so that wasn't a problem. It simply took a lot of time to get used to quirks of the app experience. One suggestion for the developer is to add a few more pauses, i.e. "After viewing the arch, turn back towards the stairs [sugg: long pause] go down them [sugg: pause] and turn to the right. [I will wait a few moments before continuing...] Now, look for the blue P sign above a doorway and go inside." The historian's lectures and voice were pretty good. The route seemed to take me a longer than 90 minutes. Thank you for an inexpensive tour of Koln (Cologne).
Really enjoyed this great little walking tour, I wish it would have been even longer. The walking instructions worked great, although I had to check the GPS location in the app frequently. The commentator and creator has done an excellent job as well.
Difficult to start at the beginning and find our way from 2nd stop with underground wall ruins to the next stop but we finally figured it out by the time we got to the Roman museum beside the church and had no other issues the rest of the way. GREAT info and tour, so glad we stuck with it and listened and walked the entire tour. It's better if you have wifi and data to start.
the app that is used is quite professional and works well. the voice over was clear and understandable. One member was not able to down load the files over cellular, so make certain you not only download the app with wifi by also the tour files.
The listener really gets a tour through Cologne 2,000 years ago. You often even walk on original Roman streets that still have the same course than today. Really exciting to experience history in a modern city like Cologne. Rome's remains can be seen in many places in the city but easily overlooked. This audio guide helps you tom find them
I bought this audio, but I had a hard time using it. My English is very basic, so I got to the first stop, period. I searched on my own, and at the information office in Cologne you are given a map with a tour of the Roman ruins, much easier to follow than in the audio... and free. Unfortunately in the places of interest marked on the map, there is no information sign, no indicator plates, nothing....
Doesn't work as you would expect, doesn't stop when you want to go to the next point. Therefore, it is not recommended to purchase this
Wirklich sehr gut gemacht, man kann wirklich das Handy in der Tasche lassen und taucht komplett in die Welt des römischen Köln ein. Sehr empfehlenswert und eine äußerst angenehme Stimme
