A really cool experience with great VR and a fantastic, enthusiastic host! Everything was made interesting and engaging, and you could tell how much they genuinely love what they do. It makes such a difference when someone is passionate about their job. We really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend giving it a go!

Itinerary
On this tour we take you on a 45-minute journey through time to the vibrant Cologne of the Golden Twenties. You will enter detailed recreated rooms : a historic cinema where you will experience a typical newsreel, as well as a hat-maker's workshop where you will be introduced to the world of life and fashion of that time. Together with two sympathetic characters – the hat-maker Tessa and the Cologne tram driver Pitter – you even complete an entertaining “mission” : to save the 1926 carnival. The highlight is a virtual reality ride in a faithful tram replica : You will experience Cologne in a 360° panorama, including a vibrating rail atmosphere and airstream, just as the city was before the Second World War – a poignant experience for visitors aged 6 and over, ideal for families, groups and VR fans.

Great experience . Fully recommend
I decided to visit this place just to pass some time and quite honestly it was the highlight of my trip to Cologne. It was wonderful from start to finish. The guide was very informative and made the whole experience fun and educational. The virtual reality tram ride was amazing. I loved every minute of it. Please do not miss this experience it is fantastic.
Interesting and quirky experience. VR tram was best part.
Absolute rubbish do not waste your time or money. The hat shop presentation is an a joke and the virtual realitity show is terrible
A brilliant trip into Cologne history with two excellent and informative guides. The virtual reallity was amazing. On the Aldstat square.
Interesting. Indoor VR showing old cologne. Nicely made vr video, full of details. The set up before the video was also nicely crafted.
The VR was ok, it wasn't amazing but it was good compared to some other VR experiences I've been on. If it's your first time doing any sort of VR then it may look great, but overall I found the experience quite boring, the hat shop and video before it were particularly dull as well. Not something I would recommend
A delightful experience that lasted about 3/4 hour beginning with a short film then a visit to a ‘hat shop’ and finally a tram ride, using VR headsets, through old Cologne. The tram ride was very well done with the creative modelling team putting in a lot of detail into the virtual world with a lot of interesting scenarios happening along the journey. There was an audio commentary presented by the tram ‘Driver’ which unfortunately didn’t work most of the time for my companion even though an attendant tried to help by adjusting his headset and eventually moving him to another seat. My commentary worked fine so it was disappointing that my companion missed out. Make sure that you arrive in time for the appropriate language tour. We arrived just in time for the English tour. Any later and we would have to have waited 2 hours for the next one. Worth the visit (if everything works!)
This was fun. It gave you a virtual reality look of the year 1926, and what cologne was like in that year. There were silly parts to it like why we need to have a hat making demonstration. But I did like the VR part of it that took us on a tour through the town as it looked like in 1926. I certainly would like to have something like this done for the history of Germany.
TimeRide was a fun attraction, a little expensive for the time that we spent there but it was well put together. Using the video room and hat shop to keep you busy whilst the previous time slot are in the VR tram was clever too. It was our 6 year old daughter's first ever VR experience and she thought it was fun. When you're on the VR experience, definitely keep looking around for some funny scenes. Would recommend!
A highly recommended event. We were really thrilled and would repeat it and recommend it to others at any time.
The organizers put a lot of effort into the concept. As locals of Cologne, we found the idea of sitting in a tram and driving through the - undamaged - Cologne of 1926 fascinating.
Unfortunately, the trip was very short (barely 30 minutes) and therefore did not quite correspond to the information provided. Also, the scheduling of the groups was very tight, so the staff (unfortunately only 3 people) got into quite a time crunch. Our group had transmission problems with two VR headsets during the ride and was dependent on support. Due to the high demand in the entrance area, our guide was unfortunately already back at the counter, which is why the problem could only be resolved with a time delay. Thus, our two friends did not catch the beginning of the ride.
Very disappointing. The idea behind it is good, but the execution is all the worse. In the year 2026, one should assume that the VR headset corresponds to the latest standard; unfortunately, that was not the case. The images were jerky and not smooth. Not recommended.
It was a great experience to look back 100 years! The whole thing is really very well done!
It was a very nice and interesting time travel experience. However, I would omit the film at the beginning and extend the tram ride by incorporating the content of the film and the history of the hat shop into the ride.
Nice guide, a bit of everything, interesting journey through time
Was a nice experience with the family, would love to do it again
It is super and I like it very much 👍 I have already been there for the 2nd time; now I was there with my grandson, who is 13, and he was also thrilled.
Cologne 1945: One receives a superficial introduction to the events of 1945, so clumsy that it would be better to skip it, as it is actually embarrassing. Then there is a compilation of old film clips, nice, but one can comfortably access similar content online; in the screening room, there are a total of five seats. Then one is led to the train, receives no information about disinfecting the glasses, and I did not see anyone disinfecting during the entire time. One puts on the glasses, which I found relatively heavy and uncomfortable, and is supposed to follow a light with head movements, presumably so that the staff can see if all the glasses are functioning. Unfortunately, the staff sees nothing, as the first pair of glasses failed here without the missing head movements being noticed by the staff. One does not know that the presentation has actually already started and waits for the beginning. At some point, it becomes clear that nothing is coming, one calls a staff member and is moved to another seat. The film has meanwhile continued to run. Also, the next pair of glasses fails at some point. Hand signals are no longer noticed by the staff. There were two of us, and both experienced a glasses failure! The film segments we saw were characterized by rather meager animation. In response to our complaint, we were offered to try again at the next showing. However, we had an appointment and wanted our money back. That was, of course, out of the question; instead, we each received a voucher for 30 EUR: "We are even adding something compared to your ticket price of 21.90 €!". Not a chance! The fine print states on the "Time Travel Grant" voucher: "Please note that remaining amounts will neither be credited nor refunded!" and "The voucher code can only be used once, even if the amount is not fully utilized." Redeemed grants cannot be canceled or rebooked. Only one grant ticket can be redeemed per shopping cart." Then the voucher is not even valid for half a (!) year and is only usable in Cologne. One can only strongly advise against this for tourists!
A few weeks ago, we already undertook the time travel to the Cologne of the Golden Twenties. Now it was very impressive how one could experience post-war Cologne in 1945 through TimeRide. Really highly recommended.
Very good representation of the situation and people of the time.
Great experience, excellent staff.
The experience was impressive and moving. Through access via VR glasses, the post-war history of the destroyed Cologne has gained a very personal and emotional quality.
A beautiful experience; from the charming reception with a flexible approach at check-in to the setup with three experience locations and the technically and atmospherically excellent 3D simulation. In the end, the "Floating into the Sky" was a dreamy conclusion!!
It was a truly great experience. Always happy to return
Unfortunately, the time travel fell far short of our expectations. My 14-year-old son found it simply disappointing…
My husband ( Swiss ) and I , Kölsch girls, were very enthusiastic. Will plan another tour on foot.
We did this on a rainy day and it's really perfect for that! Would definitely recommend it!
Informative and well done. You could recognize a lot. Too short, actually.
Made with a lot of passion, absolutely great for children. Quite a lot for adults, too.
Very nice experience. Great implementation. We were there with the extended family (ages 81-13). The “ride” in the tram with the VR glasses was great and a lot of fun. Even the seniors. We were impressed with the quality (we didn't expect so well). Very nice staff, good briefing and quick resolution of technical problems. All in all, the event should have been a little longer. We are happy to participate in a TimeRide again.
Thank you again. It was just wonderful In addition, very friendly staff
Really a fun way to explore historic Cologne. I was fascinated by the VR journey through Cologne city centre in 1926. It can't be compared to a real city tour (but I didn't expect that either), but an entertaining little journey through time. Also the children (11 years old) loved it and you are independent of the weather.
It's not worth the price. Content but also technically very weak. You are well welcomed and picked up into the 20s but then follows a bad newsreel-like cinema screening which constantly jerks and in which half of the participants must stand. Afterwards we go through a hat maker's shop which is good in terms of idea but leaves many chances. Unfortunately, the weakest point is the VR time travel with heavy headsets and weak technology.
It was a fantastic journey through time. Starting with the light playhouse and the great hat shop from that time. The highlight was the tram ride. You felt like you were in the middle of it. My time travel was a great birthday present. Really great
Price and performance do not fit. Simply too short and only geared towards carnival.
We had booked the Old Town tour and were thrilled. Our guide Erin was able to tell us a lot of new things and responded directly to our questions or researched during the tour, which she could not answer directly. The different eras were impressively visualized and you felt in the middle of it - and in the end a highlight for every Cologne resident! Very clear recommendation! The next time travel will definitely be booked again in Cologne
It was a great experience, everything was perfect. A very friendly, nice team. Always happy to. We would attend it again at any time.
Great and lovingly designed experience in all three components. Highly recommended also and especially for Cologne
I found it a special experience: three parts, each part of which is connected. I can only recommend.
Interesting and great trip to Cologne 1926. Friendly welcome, detailed explanation, just beautiful and worth seeing. Cons: The glasses were just too heavy and had to be held in position by hand throughout the "journey through Cologne". No way to order anything drinkable and there was no toilet.
The time travel was entertaining, a movie, a visit to the reconstructed hat shop and ultimately the virtual time travel. Friendly presentation and assistance. All in all entertaining 45 min.
Nice reception, funny side program. Very nice virtual ride through historic Cologne. There is still room for improvement in the technique, otherwise there would have been the full score.
We visited time travel again in 1924 and crowned the whole thing with horror in Cologne. MEGA MEGA MEGA. The staff sensational the tour creepy, the theme great implemented. All very impressive. That's great. Always happy to.
We took part in the Halloween tour. It was an incredible experience. The team is super great, very helpful and attentive. Special attention was paid to participants with physical disabilities so that they could participate in the experience without any problems. The whole thing is very successful and the location in the middle of the old market rounds it off particularly. Can only recommend it.
Have booking and payment receipt at hand The performance overall was great if the inconvenience hadn't been at the beginning
We liked the time travel very much, it was very interesting in the cinema of the 20s, the hat making and of course the tour through old Cologne. Staff were very friendly and amusing.
The rooms are used and used to their limits. The story is very nice only if you follow the characters while driving into the side streets, a bit of fake movement of the characters arises. Otherwise, however, you are in another world.
