It worked really well. What we appreciated was being able to go your own pace, and when you heard enough you just moved on.

Great option to see Coimbra! No need to pay $100 for basicly same your. Your choice as to weather you wanted to go into various museums or not and a great feature to stop and ho into shops or get a coffee and resume tour!
was amazed at the size of the diggings and the recreation of fallen parts . Much of it was disabled scooter accessible. fountain area was spectacular . Congratulations to the organization managing it . Lots more to be revealed I am sure
very informative, loved being able to listen to the history but take it at our own place too. perfect amount of information
The tour was very easy to follow and gave an excellent overview of the history of the town. I would recommend this tour to anyone but it requires a lot of climbing so beware if you find walking difficult.
Learning about and seeing the Republicas was fascinating. It was also nice to go at our own pace, which allowed us eat lunch, visit some churches, etc. The map function worked well.
Loved the Southgate tour. She was excellent. Would have been nice to have her talk just a little slower so that we didn’t have to pause so frequently but other than that it was great. We signed up for another one!
It was our first self guided tour and we loved it. It is so easy to follow directions and descriptions are totally accurate. For sure I will keep on doing this self guided audio tours
Complete and concise…this audio guide is such a great way to get the feel for Coimbra. Allows you to do it on your own pace. Wish there guides like this for other places in Portugal.
The self guided tour was easy enough to use but I stopped it halfway. It was getting confusing to follow and it dragged on. Didn’t find the points of interest that well, interesting. Maybe it’s the area or the app or both.
A good way to learn about Coimbra. A little more history could’ve been told during the tour for my taste. Overall, a good experience.
The Machado de Castro National Museum is an art museum in Coimbra, Portugal, named after the renowned Portuguese sculptor Joaquim Machado de Castro. It first opened in 1913 and its latest renovation, which included the addition of a new building, was awarded the Piranesi/Prix de Rome Prize 2014. (Quote from Wikipedia). It is wonderful museum to give a perspective from Roman architecture (original) to 1800… through .. going from church to commerce.
This was our first self guided tour, and we were surprised at how easy it was to follow! It was packed full of information and gave great instructions on where to go and where to look. We could stop and spend as much time looking at something or taking pictures, then start up again. We used air buds to listen with, and didn’t have any problems at all. The price so reasonable too! We will definitely do one of these again! Thanks for making this type of tour an option!
We loved this format! Great information. Easy to go at you own pace. Easy to stop and visit locations then resume.
Very easy to use and informative. We bought one for me and one for my wife. In reality, we ended up only using 1, since we shared the one phone to save battery life. BTW, starting with a batter life of 75% or more is highly recommended!
This was a very novel way to take a tour of Coimbra. Because it was a self guided audio tour, we were we were able to pick the day and time to take the tour. The technology of the application worked fairly well; however, there were some times when the audio tour didn’t work when we were in a location where the audio tour should have resumed. Overall, however, we were very satisfied with the audio tour, and we would strongly recommend it to others.
This was a great experience. The hour and a half audio tour lasted 5 hours because we stopped at every museum, every coffee place, had a leisurely lunch in the middle and spent the day seeing the city on our own time.
Excellent self-guided tour. The guide was very knowledgeable and easy to understand and the app's use of GPS to identify your location meant that it automatically started playing the appropriate segment when you reached the designated spot and everything was very easy to find with the map and the guide's tips.
This was the first self guided tour we have done and it exceeded expectations. The directions were very easy to follow, the narrator was thorough and easy to understand and was so nice being able to do it at own pace and stop and linger when we wanted to. This tour ends near the University and would highly recommend continuing on to the botanical gardens (free entry) as they are near by and beautiful.
This was a great self-guided walking tour! It synced with GPS, so the guide gave information cued to our precise location. It allowed for stops & starts at our choosing & made recommendations of places we might like to visit kite extensively (e.g., churches, museums, etc). My husband & I shared a set of wireless EarPods, so we were listening to the same thing at the same time. It was well worth it!
It was enjoyable to have a private tour with Anna. All of my questions were answered and she took the time to ask for my preferences.
It was a new experience but very well worth the money. I took some time to actually get to grips with the way it operated but I thoroughly enjoyed the tour which was really interesting and different Being able to go at ones own pace and also being able to stop off when one needed a break was a great benefit. I took three hours to cover this partly because there was so much of interest to be had but also because at 81 the long climb takes time. But well worth the effort. This is a new concept of travel guides and needs developing well. A great innovation
