Elegant Gem in the Heart of Coimbra – Tivoli Coimbra I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Tivoli Coimbra—a refined blend of classic charm and contemporary comfort in one of Portugal’s oldest university cities. 🌟 Highlights: Central & Accessible Location Just steps away from iconic landmarks like the University Library, Santa Cruz Church, and the Old Cathedral. You can walk everywhere, with Coimbra‑B station only a 7-minute stroll away ([turn0search0]). Freshly Renovated Rooms & Stylish Design Following a recent overhaul, the rooms now boast elegant, neutral décor, smart TVs, Nespresso machines, and thoughtful finishing touches. Family rooms and executive suites offer extra space and comfort ([turn0search1]). Comfort & Amenities Rooms include air conditioning, free Wi‑Fi, flat-screen TVs, in-room tea/coffee makers, and spacious bathrooms. Free bicycle rental and private parking (around €10–13/night) are added perks ([turn0search3], [turn0search2]). Dining at Simone Coffee Shop The trendy on-site café—open all day—serves everything from artisanal coffee to pizzas, burgers, pasta, risotto, and varied brunches on weekends ([turn0search1]). Business & Event Ready Ideal for meetings or conferences—five modern meeting rooms are available, with full audiovisual support and catering options ([turn0search0], [turn0search3]). Highly Rated by Guests Boasts an overall score of 8.3/10 on Booking.com, with outstanding marks for cleanliness (8.7), comfort (8.7), location (8.7), facilities (8.3), and staff (9.0) ([turn0search10]). ⚠️ Minor Notes: Some guests have described the property as older in appearance, with occasional musty odors in the rooms and limited variety during breakfast service ([turn0search10], [turn0search8]). A few mentioned that while the rooms are clean, furniture feels slightly dated, suggesting the hotel feels more like a high-end 3-star in appearance ([turn0search10]). 🧭 Final Verdict Tivoli Coimbra is a great choice if you're after comfort, convenience, and a central location. Its design-forward renovation, helpful service, and in-house dining spots make it perfect for both leisure and business travelers. If you’re sensitive to hotel aesthetics, you might notice some older elements—but overall, it’s a solid stay with excellent service and amenities.

Spacious and modern room with a comfortable bed and excellent blackout blinds. Shower/bath had a curtain which is a bit messy. Breakfast was okay and very limited with gluten free options. Staff was quite rude, Sat on the bar for 30 minutes and didn't receive table service whereas other tables did. Overall, would not recommend
The rooms are really big although somehow old (especially the carpet), the breakfast was good although strict with the horario. Also, the first night we arrived and made check in, even if it was nearly 15 minutes before closure,in the bar, they refused to serve us. The price and the location were good.
Really big rooms. Decide is a little tired and could use some updating - carpets in the room need to be replaced asap. Very helpful staff. Location is good close enough to centre and they have a car park with electric charger right by the hotel which was convenient. We had connecting rooms which was great as travelling with young kids. Really good value for money.
Stayed for 5 nights. All the staff we encountered during our stay were lovely. The room is spacious, the shower was hot and the bed was supremely comfortable. We didn’t have breakfast but occasionally dined at the bar where they made great coffee and snacks. Recommended.
