Casas Do Arco

We stayed in a large, one bedroom unit overlooking the courtyard. If you bolt or uber from coimbra b train station, tell your driver you want to go to Caixa Geral de Depósitos bank on Rua de Sofia. Putting the address of the apartment in caused our driver to drop us off at the coimbra university museum. No where near the apartment location and we had to navigate a lot of steps through back alleys to get to the apartment and it took over 20 minutes dragging our luggage for no reason. If you get dropped at the bank you simply walk down the wide pedestrian street, and use Livraria Almedina Arco, a book store, as your directions and the door to the apartments is right next door to the bookstore. The restaurant, Taberna D'Almedina, is also in that same courtyard. We were there on a day the restaurant was closed but would have loved to try it. Or had a nightcap there. The apartment was great. We communicated through both email and WhatsApp with the landlord and it was perfect and we would rent from Atlantic days again. Super great, safe area. We had a snack at Empório do Tuca before exploring and highly recommend. Lovely owner, there. The only downside is that the apartment will not hold bags. So we were leaving the next day but planned to explore until the afternoon so we had to use the bounce service to store our bags.

Great place. Very welcoming and spacious apartment. It is difficult to find though. Our phone gps sent us to the top of the hill to a random street. I would recommend going to the main square and walking north. It is right off of the main road. Have fun.

The coolest accomodation you ever heard! We stayed a night, but it was awesome. Beautiful design, clean and simple. And this is in the city center too much! 😃
