We visited the Illinois Holocaust Museum Experience360 in Chicago not quite knowing what to expect, especially since we’ve previously been to the Holocaust museums in both New York and Washington, D.C. While those are incredibly meaningful, this immersive media experience offers something uniquely powerful. The way the stories are brought to life is deeply moving. The opportunity to engage in an interactive discussion with a Holocaust survivor was unforgettable—personal, emotional, and incredibly impactful. Hearing firsthand how individuals endured and navigated such a tragic chapter in history was both heartbreaking and inspiring. The 3D portion of the experience was equally remarkable. Wearing the goggles and feeling like you were walking through history alongside a survivor created a connection that goes far beyond a traditional museum visit. This is a sobering but meaningful experience that stays with you long after you leave. Five stars and two thumbs up. I highly recommend it for everyone—especially high school students—to truly understand the realities of the Holocaust.

It was a deeply imprinting experience. So many times in history class, we are given dates, names, & numbers. They are never connected to faces or communities. This experience connected me to faces and communities. It pulled me in and helped me see and understand.
It was a truly touching experience to review the history of what my family went through, who are no longer here to tell their story.
The museum was simple but very informative. The price was worth it and we attended both the VR and the hologram presentations. Overall, very eye opening and sobering experience.
Very informative and inclusive exhibit, we were given a tour of the main space after our vr experience. I liked that it included info on multiple genocides rather than just focusing on the holocaust.
Both the hologram and vr were very engaging and interesting. I’m very happy I attended. Don’t be afraid to ask lots of questions in the hologram exhibit.
It was a very eye opening experience thanks to MJ and Val because they were very informative and kind, they answered all our questions and told us even more, thank you for this experience.
The length of the visit depends on how much you want to see/do. I really enjoyed my first time experience and the VR. Price is reasonable.
Such a moving experience! I have visited other Holocaust exhibits and this one had the most personal connection, including Michael who is a second generation holocaust survivor! He spoke with my friend and I, telling the story of his mother and father. I found myself speechless so many times and had goosebumps.
Space was larger than expected, staff were very friendly and accommodating. Very multi modal and interactive experience. Really enjoyed how the real life experiences of survivors was portrayed!
My friends and I work nearby and when we saw the signs for the museum go up, we were interested in seeing how this branch of the museum would put things together. We were only able to go over our lunch-break, so we didn’t have enough time to do everything, but the displays were well put together - informative and insightful, but also very emotional. Please don’t forget your Kleenex like I did! We will definitely have to go back to see the rest.
A very somber and heartbreaking reminder of a not so long ago past and how we still feel it today. I am so glad I got a chance to go and learn more.
Excellent experience. Very informative. Tom our guide did a spectacular job. Definitely recommend you visit. The virtual experience was definitely the best.
Tom and the entire staff was so helpful and knowledgeable! We highly recommend and plan to go to Skokie to see that one next !!
Great place and the staff is very warm and welcoming. The place is so accessible right in the city of Chicago. It is worth a visit
Tom Hoskinson was a wonderful tour guide and the museum was a sobering reminder. Enjoyed the VR and the hologram rooms as well. Thank you!
A great place to remind us all of our shared humanity and how precious and fragile it is. The use of technology and storytelling, mixed with tangible artifacts conveys the resilience of humans in the face of horrible ugliness. It will ground you and give you hope for the future. It is an unexpected gem to visit downtown.
The virtual reality experience is profoundly engaging - an incredible way to see a holocaust survivor’s sorry in a new way. And the museum’s exhibit’s are outstanding.
Meaningful and so very relevant today. Everyone should visit and experience the museum. The VR movies and holograms truly connected with our whole group.
Incredible museum with a very moving and well produced exhibit of artifacts and a super powerful VR video sharing a survivors experience. Not to be missed!
Amazing exhibit showcasing a rich history through captivating artifacts, vividly narrating a story in time that is truly unforgettable. Thank you for this memorable experience.
The whole experience was so powerful. I got to see the stories of survivors told in their own words I would recommend this to anyone who cares about humanity.
VR tour was emotional and an experience that everyone should take. Getting to learn about not just the holocaust but broader genocide was a very interesting experience.
This was a very meaningful museum visit as a Jewish person today. The exhibits and experiences were emotional and important to see.
This museum offers a truly remarkable experience. The cutting-edge digital exhibits—especially the immersive virtual reality and interactive holography theater—are both innovative and engaging. They bring history and storytelling to life in a way that’s both fun and thought-provoking. One of the most memorable parts of the visit was the exhibition that paired personal artifacts with the stories and memories of the individuals who owned them. It’s a deeply human and emotional way to connect with the past. Set aside 60 to 90 minutes for your visit—you’ll find it incredibly rewarding and well worth your time. Highly recommended!
A completely immersive and moving experience. Experience360 was one of our destinations on our recent visit to Chicago. We were curious about the interactive VR and holographic experiences which really made this visit exceptional. The interactivity provided a moment for deeper understanding of these moving stories of resilience. We left feeling optimistic and inspired.
