Great spot for the littles. It was the perfect way to spend an hour or so. We went on a Saturday late afternoon and it was not over crowded or hard to navigate. All the different rooms kept the kids engaged and it is a cool atmosphere. The staff were kind and fun. Overall a great experience for the kids.

I wasn't quite sure what we were going to see. It was started as something to fill in the time. I was so glad we did this. It made me feel nostalgic, like I was both a young parent and a kid again myself. So much fun
Professional staff yet relaxed. Each room/space was a marvel and unexpected. Great experience for kids and adults. Free pictures for download also a huge plus. We shall go back again.
Dangerous, my child slipped on the slide and needed to get staples in his head, I was sitting right next to him and can’t believe they haven’t done anything about it. The people working tried to give me a bandaid after I asked numerous times to call for a paramedic. I would caution anyone with kids or elderly people to avoid this.
About an hour or hour and a half visit. Great staff…and I only ran into 2 mirrors. 🤪
My teenage daughter and I went to this and had so much fun! All the interactive parts are the best and we have some great photos and awesome memories!
Best for young and early grade children. Had a couple interesting rooms, but our 11 year old was not very impressed (neither was I from the description). I really think it’s well suited for younger children.
We were highly disappointed. This is also not that easy to find. You will go into what looks almost like a food court. You need to find the escalators in the back and go down two floors. This is not that large and there are a lot of mirrors. You do get to try a couple different taffies, choose a colored fortune cookie (mine just tasted like a regular fortune cookie) and get a bag of candy if you want. There is a floating ball room that you can have your picture taken in and a ball pit section with two slides but is not a large area. I will say that the employees are super friendly so A+ there but I would not recommend this.
Almost everyone in the audience got chosen to participate in the magic. It was amazing and he was a great magician. No matter how hard you watch, you’ll never be able to catch just how he does it. It is family friendly but you should expect frequent jokes that your kids may not understand.
Very fun, interactive experience, while also giving some history into Chicago. As people who are musically inclined, it was interesting to read about what different instruments and sounds communicate through color. We had a lot of fun and will do it again!
This was the highlight of my Chicago trip! This museum is absolutely interactive! You also get free pictures from the rooms you experience.
This was such an interesting and unique experience! Worth the time spent there. There were so many unique artistoc expressions that are unique and definitely deserving of the place. The colors sights sounds are phenomenal. They do cater to persons sensitive to over stimulation as well it is such a well desighned and curated experience with heaps of fun woven in. Definitely worth it!
I loved it. It’s a very cute and sweet spot for you and your partner. The scenery and displays are always stunning
Very good experience of the senses. Workers were helpful and we enjoyed them. The artist and creative rooms are awesome
Very cute experience, had tons of photo opportunities. Didn’t like the fact no one was enforcing the rules and children ran wild moving photos props tat were it to be touched.
The Color Factory in Chicago is a *Must See*! Great for all ages! Located in the Lower Level of Willis Tower, The Color Factory does not disappoint! Interactive exhibits are well presented. The ball pit is a great way for kids to release extra energy and there's a spacious area for parents to take a break. The ball pit is also where the ice cream sample is available. The ice cream is exactly that...A Sample. It was yummy, but don't expect a regular size serving. Staff at Color Factory were great withh our kiddos. Defiantly want to recognize Natasha & Michael for being so welcoming. We visited several museums during our visit to Chicago and Color Factory was definitely our favorite. Enjoy!!❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
My two girls (9 and 5) loved it! Roughly 1.5-2 hours and perfect location in the Willis Tower, made options for lunch really easy. I also thought it was very educational for both of my girls, learning how different senses work together. Highly recommend!
Building close unexpectedly for work . No phone to call the company. Tickets bought through you. Hoping for a refund
It was a really neat idea, just felt like it fell a little short when looking at the overall cost. For the price charged for a ticket, it should have been more immersive and more rooms to see. I was understandably unimpressed as a parent and an art teacher. Had so much potential!
We loved this experience! It was a great way to start our vacation. Great way to spend time with family and friends and plenty of opportunities to take photos! Love this colorful experience!!
This was so much fun. It was great for kids and adults. There are learning activities as well as just running and doing playing.
Awesome experience so much fun. I would definitely recommend to anyone
We loved the photo setup in each room. Most places will try to make you buy professional pictures but this attraction included pictures in the cost. It was a great experience.
What a fun, immersive afternoon at the Color Factory! From the balloon room to the ball pit, there was something for everyone. We especially got a kick out of drawing each other. Haha. Highly recommend stopping by the Color Factory next time you’re in the city.
The color factory was so fun I would recommend this for adults even if you don't have kids it had unique rooms that tied color two different senses. My favorite part was they offered a QR code and had spots throughout the exhibits where you can get your picture taken and all the pictures were emailed to you for free.
There are several rooms, you can stay as long as you want in each room, but there is only one-way, so you can't go back to previous room once you left. The good point is you can get a code, then scan whenever there is a camera, then it will email you the link for the photos taken there, and you can take as many photos as you want. But the food there is limited, I see there was macaron before, but now is just fortune cookie and limited one per person, besides that, only 1-2 candy, and the ice-cream is added-on that you need to pay extra for. For the rooms, I like the balloon and the ball pit most, we spent much time there.
Great experience for our 2 year old. All of the different rooms are fun for all ages. The ball pit was definitely a favorite
This was a great experience! I loved that I was able to take pictures by scanning a card especially since I came alone.
Color Factory Chicago was such a fun and immersive experience! I loved that it was completely self-paced, letting me take my time in each room without feeling rushed. Every exhibit was interactive, creative, and full of photo-worthy moments — perfect for anyone who enjoys hands-on experiences and a bit of nostalgia. What made it even better were the sweet treats sprinkled throughout the tour — a cute surprise that added a playful touch to the whole visit. From start to finish, the staff were friendly, the colors were vibrant, and the experience felt thoughtfully designed.
Loved all the colors and all the activities that they had and all the stuff they gave you while going in different rooms. Kid friendly good for all ages.
Great place a good vibe just go and be a big kid. Everybody was friendly even met some nice ppl and had some good laughs.
It was a fun couple of hours. Smiled the whole time! There was a lot of interactive stuff to do. A lot of picture spots.
It is a great experience that any age can enjoy. I went with my 21 year old daughter and we had a ball!
Very fun and hits all the senses. Hardest part is people who don’t mind their kids, but that’s anywhere. Inside the Willis Tower (formerly the sears tower), so easy spot to get to and plenty of food options if you want before or after. They even have some treats along the way during the visit.
super nice place to visit in Chicago! Loved everything about this place. Kids & family friendly. Amazing experience!
Incredible experience with my young son and husband!! So many unique rooms and photo ops. You get all of the photos sent to your email at the end of the experience included with the cost of admission. 🥰 I feel like things like this can be a gamble because you never know if it’s going to be worth the time and money but we had an amazing time - the highlight of our Chicago trip so far!!
Look for parking ahead of time, 30-40 minutes so u want have to walk too far from location. Don't buy nothing. Extremely over priced. They even charge $16 for keychain. $40 for a logo bag thinner than my real eyelashes,Baby bye
There’s nothing really Chicago about this, but it was a sweet thing to do for an hour. We had been told by friends that it was better than the ice cream museum in Chicago. It was adorable. Much better bang for my buck than Chicago 360 or Tilt, which was stupid. It’s in the basement of the Sears Tower, but you forget that. Each room is different. Let the cameras take all the pictures… You get a free download of all of them. No need to use your own camera.
We had a great time. Lots of photo opportunities! There's something about color that makes you feel happy! Great family bonding! Loved the little treats in various rooms. Go check them out
OMG! So much fun. More fun than I expected. We added it to our Chicago weekend just for fun and didn't expect it to be that much fun, even for the adults. We all really loved it. Very cool experience, lots of fun pictures.
Had a great time! Very unique exhibits, my 6 year old was obsessed! Love the free QR code pictures, sent to email. Great treats along the way as well!
Fantastic experience! Lots of activities & treats during the experience and the photo stations worked really well 🙂
There's activities here for all ages. The color glow rooms are quite warm, but then they offer an ice cream treat! Don't forget to look in the wall mirrors (glow rooms)!
It was a fun experience for a early Sunday afternoon. It was an interactive experience for my grandson who’s 9….he loved it. The colors and patterned rooms with the mirrors were a great sensory experience…The interactive experience in each room was stimulating for the senses ie music room, drawing room and confetti! The people working there were considerate and kind. The gift shop was fun. Definitely would go back. Whoever thought of The Color Factory put a lot of thought into it and it was really appreciated! Chicago needs more of the thought provoking experiences for kids and teens
Good experience from the start with a convenient coat check. You can go through the displays and take as much time as you like. There are some little "gifts" along the way. Pictures are taken for you at little stations but it uses a flash, and your own smart phone pics will turn out better, but it's still fun. You do get digital copies of all the pics taken at the stations for free. This is a good one time experience, try to go when it might not be busy. Super convenient parking garage across the street, save money by buy parking in advance. Go the the skydeck before or afterwards?
Super fun! Loved the ball pit and all the photo opportunities. Definitely would come again with friends and family.
Either you love to take pictures for social media, have new sensorial experiences or just have some fun, the Color factory made my visit to chicago just unforgetable
This is a delightful, bright, colorful place to spend approximately an hour of your time. It is located on lower level 2 of the Willis Tower. The route through the Color Factory is unidirectional, so once you finish a room you can’t return to it. They give you a QR code so that you can scan it at different photo stations throughout. Photos are automatically sent to your email free of charge. The art installations are creative. The rooms are fun, and they include a small mirror maze, a balloon room, a patriotic confetti room, and a room with a large ball pit with two slides. They also offer sweet little treats such as jelly bellies, macarons, blue taffy, and mini ube ice cream with cones. They also offer you the chance to pick a small souvenir. My least favorite rooms were the ones with the stationary white ghosts since these were the least interactive. There is also a room where you can try to guess the various scents, but some of the scents were very faint or nonexistent. I have also been to the Color Factory in New York City and the rooms here in Chicago are mostly different.
Neat place for a kid maybe 7 to 12 years old. Took a big group of exchange students, age 16 and 17 and spent $53 EACH person to get in. Wayyyy over priced!! The ticket purchase process was TERRIBLE, took a long time and you have to give them A TON of personal information and now I get a TON of junk emails from these weird senders, scam type things. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this place due to this fact. If there is a way to not give your email out then that would be best, but they send your purchased ticket TO YOUR EMAIL- so they got ya if you want to go in. Ya, I regret doing this 100%.
We went with our grandchildren and son-in-law and it was a wonderful experience. The different rooms are cleverly thought out and a fun mix of science and goofy fun. We have no regrets about spending our time here, and lunch was readily available in the same location (Steak and Shake - other options too).
