Tanner, our tour guide, was very informative and enthusiastic. The walking tour focused on Chicago Gangsters (but mostly Al Capone) and tragic events that happened in Chicago with ghost sightings. The tour was about 2 hours, with a fifteen minute break at the Palmer Hotel. There was about a mile of walking, but the tour was well-paced and informative. I would highly recommend this tour as it gives you a different perspective of Chicago.

Tanner was a wonderfully entertaining guide with mad knowledge of Al Capone.

A very nice way to see the city and learn about some of it's dark history. The guide, Cris, were clearly passionate about the subject and entertained us with thrilling tales about....well, you have to book a tour to know that ;)

Our tour guide, Matthew, was a very good communicator and knowledgeable about Chicago history 100 years ago. The tour was well paced and we had a beautiful fall day in Chicago. I was thrilled to see the Palmer House lobby, the Chicago Cultural Center to name a couple of jewels in history.

Wear comfy shoes as you’ll be walking a good distance. Bring cash if you’d like leave a tip for the tour guide. Be ready to hear stories of Chicago gangsters, ghost, and history stories. You’ll have a great time!

Really enjoyed all the gangsters and ghost stories of the tour. I learned some history and fun facts too. Walking distance was good with enough rest stops for us to really appreciate the city and the history behind it. Matthew was a great guide and story teller. I want to join the walking food tour next time I’m in Chicago.

The tour itself was great. My only reason for the 4 stars was the distance between the start and end points. It was a 30 minute walk back to the starting point where our car was at the end of our tour. After walking for almost 2 hours, we didn’t want to do another half hour of walking just to go back to our hotel. Other than that, great experience.

Tour on Halloween was an absolute hit with our family! Tour guide Matt provided so many spooky and historical stories with perfect narration. Kept us engaged throughout. Can’t say enough about Matt’s outstanding performance. Walking distance felt satisfying. Cool to explore the city above ground on foot.

Extremely Disappointing Chicago Gangster Walking Tour** What a tremendous disappointment! We were looking forward to an entertaining and informative walking tour exploring Chicago’s notorious gangster history, but the experience fell far short of expectations and not spooky at all. Chicago has such a fascinating history involving Al Capone, organized crime, Prohibition, and legendary gangsters. Unfortunately, this tour failed to bring any of that history to life. What should have been an engaging, memorable experience was instead underwhelming, uninspiring, and a complete waste of our time. When you book a historical walking tour in a city as iconic as Chicago, you expect compelling storytelling, interesting historical details, and an experience worth the time and money. You would expect engagement, suspense, crowd interaction. I would not recommend this tour. * Chicago has far too much incredible history and too many wonderful attractions to spend your time on an experience this disappointing. I wanted it to be fun, spooky stories told with knowledge and trivia. You are walking in silence in bad neighborhoods with a guide not equipped to help you if anything happens. It was really sad.

My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed the Chicago Ghosts and Gangsters tour! Our tour guide, Aimee, did a great job and shared all sorts of stories that I, born and raised in Chicagoland, had never heard of before. From Al Capone’s South Side gang to the Congress hotel poltergeist - anyone is sure to enjoy this scenic and spooky walk. Would recommend!

Great story telling by out guide. Lots of walking and stairs so wear comfortable shoes. Nice views of the river and skyscrapers

Best tour ever — truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience! The guide was an amazing storyteller with such a great personality, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. This is the perfect Halloween Eve activity before the big day, but honestly, it’s a great tour for any occasion. The history, the stories, and the beautiful views of Chicago make it absolutely worth it. I highly recommend it to anyone visiting or looking to experience Chicago in a whole new way!

We had some time to kill last week so we booked the Gangsters and Ghosts walking tour, with minimal research, not knowing what to expect. I must say we were very pleasantly surprised! Our guide, Baylor, was knowledgeable, interesting and fun. The walk was pleasant and stories fascinating. I would absolutely recommend this tour!

Max was an incredible guide and super knowledgeable on the city, it felt like we were guided around seamlessly and two hours flew by! Thanks again for a great experience, i’d recommend to anyone interested in paranormal activity or spooky stories!

This experience was probably one of the best parts of our trip. We were so surprised. Tanner was really engaging with his story telling, he made you want to keep listening and learn about the history of Chicago. I would highly recommend this to anyone that loves history and/or Chicago. We really loved our experience. Give Tanner a raise!!!!!!

Loved the Palmer Hotel stop, we should get sample brownies ;) Amy did a great job and we loved hearing about Al Capone history.

We took a 10–15-minute break and were instructed to meet the guide at 2:15 p.m. in the lobby of the Palmer Building. We arrived right on time, only to discover that the guide had already left. As a result, we missed half of the tour, which was extremely disappointing. The meeting time should have been communicated more clearly, and we expected the guide to wait until the scheduled time before leaving.

Took the Chicago Gangsters and Ghosts tour on the 22nd of October and Chris was our guide. He provided amazing insight and was extremely entertaining. Highly recommended!!

25 persons group for one guide with a low voice level. It was not adapted, even more for non -English native persons. The stories had an average interest. Too expensive for the experience
