We had an absolutely outstanding tour guide. Unfortunately, I can't recall her name, but she was a young blonde woman who was knowledgeable, engaging, enthusiastic, and genuinely passionate about Chicago's rich history. She had a wonderful ability to make everyone in our group feel included, nd her storytelling kept us interested and entertained throughout the experience. In fact, we spent much of the tour wolking in the rain, and nobody seemed to mind! That's how good she was. She truly deserves five stars for her exceptional work. Unfortunately, the food was another story, and it's the sole reason for my four-star roting. For a tour advertised as the "Chicago Favorites Ultimate Food and Walking TouriạI expected the food to be a highlight of the experience. Instead, it was lackluster at best. The Chicago-style hot dog was delicious, although it was served somewhat cold. The pizza was surprisingly bland, and the supposedly iconic Italian beef was essentially a roast beef sandwich served with au jus and hot peppers on the side. Nothing 1bout it felt particularly special or representative of the incredible food culture Chicago is known for. To be absolutely clear, none of this was our guide's She was terrific and made what could have disappointing evening genuinely enjoyable. My suggestion to the company would be to seriously reevaluate the quality and authenticity of its food offerings. Chicago has an extraordinary culinary reputation, and a tour celebroting its iconic foods should deliver an experience worthy of that reputation. Five stars for our guide. Four stars overall because the food simply didn't live up to the experience. With better food, this could easily be a five-star tour!

The tour was a great introduction to Chicago and the food scene. Our tour guide Gabe was great - he gave us lots of info about the city and we enjoyed the food we were given . Would recommend this tour to anyone looking for a walking tour of Chicago, with the added bonus of sampling some food!
Get experience. Cassandra was a fun and informative guide. Food was delicious.
My fiancé and I did 5 walking tours during our time in Chicago this weekend. This one was BY FAR the best one. Lots of information about the city, and delicious food. The walking route was super easy terrain despite being 3 hours. We loved it! We’ll be doing it again when we come back. Good for the food, but also just as a city tour.
Gabe was an awesome tour guide! We thoroughly enjoyed the classic Chicago food staples, and learned a great deal about the city. I highly recommend the tour, and we found some hidden gem food spots along the way.
Nora was amazing and her knowledge of the city was impressive. Food was amazing! It was a perfect amount of walking and stops in between to share history..
Jacob was a great guide! Took some fun detours when he learned about out interests! Saw a ton of wonderful sites in 1 afternoon! Great intro to Chicago!
Gabe was an amazing tour guide. Very informative. It is a lot of walking but worth it. Highly recommend.
Gregory was great and the food was excellent. Portions were big so the walking tour of the city between stops was great to keep your appetite up.
Great experience. Enjoyed the food and the history behind it. Thanks to Molly who gave us tons of historical tidbits that made the tour all that more interesting! It was a fun evening.
Lots of great Chicago foods. Lots of interesting Chicago history. We had a fantastic time walking the city, eating yummy foods, and learning some interesting information about The Windy City❣️
This was a great way to learn more about Chicago history and try all things that make the city unique! If you are looking for a gourmet food tour, this is not it, but you will definitely try all of the famous foods from Chicago. Our tour guide, Molly, was fantastic!
Excellent food tour! Our guide was Gregory and he was engaging and fun. Enjoyed his insights and stories about the foods and how they became Chicago favorites. He was excellent! Definitely 5 stars for Gregory!
A great way to pack a day’s worth of food and history into a few hours. Food? Delicious! Tour? Awesome! Guide? Epic! Cassandra (Caddie) brought the history of Chicago’s food, architecture, and art to life with her energetic and entertaining delivery. She was friendly and funny, making the hours fly by. As a solo traveler I was made to feel part of the group which was so comforting. I also can’t wait to take a bike ride around the river and lake with the included bike rental! This tour really packs in so much bang for your buck! 20/10 Highly Recommend!
Cassandra was an awesome guide! She was a wealth of knowledge about Chicago and very funny. As a former stand-up comedian that came naturally to her! We saw a lot of Chicago landmarks, and ate a lot of delicious classic Chicago dishes. I would highly recommend this tour, especially with Cassandra as your guide.
Fran was a fantastic guide! We got to have perfect portions of all the Chicago staples in one go. It was awesome. Food provided: 1 slice of Deep Dish to start, 1 Chicago style hot dog, a small bag of Garrett's style popcorn, half of an Italian beef sandwich, and a brownie
Except for the pizza place, the restaurants were mainly hole in the wall joints. The food was very mediocre consisting of one precooked no meat pizza, a skinny hot dig, and a beef sandwich. Only water provided. If you want tea or soda, you pay. The tour guide was very knowledgeable about the architecture and history, but did not allow us much time to stay at restaurants as he appeared to be in a hurry which didn’t allow much time for visiting other guests.
So much food! Attend hungry! We had Gregory as our guide, and he was enthusiastic, funny and knowledgeable. It really was a fantastic three hours and I’d happily recommend it to anyone visiting Chicago.
First tour and it was a great experience. Our tour guide Gregory was very knowledgeable and was very charismatic and friendly, I would definitely recommend 👌 😀
Fun facts about history of Chicago food history.
I didn’t have a lot of time to explore the city and wanted to see as much as possible in a short amt of time. Since I was solo, I decided to book this tour. Wyatt, our guide, was excellent! He was very personable, knowledgeable and interesting to listen to. Two of the food stops were red meat and I don’t eat that. He arranged for me to have a veggie alternative, which was very thoughtful. I highly recommend this tour to anyone that is a first time visitor to Chicago (like myself).
Jacob was a great tour guide! He was very knowledgeable and friendly! We loved all the food options and don’t have a single complaint about any of the food. It was great to learn some history along the way. We also loved the bonus stop to see the beautiful ceiling at Macy’s!
Braden was an amazing tour guide. His passion for Chicago definitely made this a "food and more" tour. Super glad I skipped breakfast, the food was great and everything was paced just right.
The tour guide was incredibly knowledgeable about the city’s architect and was so understanding in making sure our needs were met during the tour. The food was absolutely great! My favorite was the Chicago dog, remember? When in Rome, do as the Romans do! Don’t ask for ketchup on a Chicago dog! 😂
Great tour! Gabe was really great and very friendly and fun. The food was so good. Come hungry and save some room early so you’re not too full for the hot dog toward the end.
This was more than a food tour. great history and facts of Chicago. Food quantity was generous and establishments were inviting.
Wonderful guy very knowledgeable, funny energetic
Fran is a friendly informative guide. We learned about Chicago history and architecture along with fun food tastings.
I booked the tour based on the high ratings of the tour company. I was travelling solo and wanted to see the city and enjoy some food! Gregory was a fantastic guide. Very knowledgeable, funny and made the tour a ton of fun! Great group of people on the tour and definitely a highlight of the trip. Would recommend.
This is a must do tour! Our tour guide Wyatt was outstanding. All the food stops were great (pace yourself - the portions are generous!). We really enjoyed the history associated with the food and just all the Chicago history in general. Definitely put this tour on your to do list!
I’ve been on tons of European food tours, so I was skeptical about Pizza hot dogs and a steak sandwich! What a boring American tour. But no! Greg was great. Even though it poured during the walking tour, he found us shelter and talked about the city. Portions were big! Great way to taste Chicagos faves. Great tour for arrival night.
Molly was wonderful! She gave us information about the food, Chicago, and other great information. Plus she didn’t walk too fast so we all stayed together.
This was a wonderful way to explore Chicago - the food stops were awesome. So much interesting history and general Chicago chit chat too. Made even more enjoyable by our Guide Cassie who was a superstar! Definitely do this if you get this opportunity.
Fran was a fabulous tour guide. She guided us through the history and architecture of each area of Chicago we visited and connected that with the origin and ingredients of the foods we enjoyed. Each food and stop was a deep dive into Chicago history.
This was a lot of fun, and yummy, too. A good way to see some of the city and hear the history but with a casual flair and plenty of tasty, local food. Definitely worth it!
This tour was a great kick off of my Chicago trip. It was an excellent way to get familiar with the area, see a lot of attractions, and figure out what to do next. A big thanks to Gabe for a great tour and wonderful suggestions!
Fantastic guide, very informative and tasting portion sizes very large.
Fran was engaging, kind, interesting and a genuinely nice person to introduce us to Chicago. The tour was nicely paced - short walks with breaks for a lot of tasty food and information. My only suggestion is that it would be nice to have water when trying that spicy Italian sandwich relish.
It was a great tour! Good food, and lots of Chicago knowledge shared by Steve! Our group of people we were with were also a fun group, and everyone friendly! Highly recommend!!
Braiden was great!!! Fun, knowledgeable and shared a lot fun facts of Chicago
Our guide, Greg K, was wonderful, full of stories and history. Our group from NY, AZ and MN had fun with a lot of laughs.
Enjoyable even though it rained
Gabe was an excellent tour guide! He was funny, knowledgeable, and he answered everyone’s questions. I would recommend this tour to anyone traveling to Chicago.
What an amazingly delicious tour! Jacob was a phenomenal tour guide. His knowledge of the city and adding his personal stories made the tour delightful.
The Food Tour was excellent. Our guide, Cassandra, was knowledgeable, energetic, and friendly. The food was delicious and we learned a lot about the history and architecture of Chicago as well as the origins of some iconic food items. A great way to spend a few hours walking around the city.
Steve was the best!! Had a great time.
Great experience! Our guide, Wyatt, was excellent. A tour of Chicago, eating and chatting and learning about its history. Highly recommend.
We thought this would strictly be a Food Tour, but it really was a walking tour of downtown Chicago with great food. Our tour guide Cassandra was amazing. Very knowledgeable on the history of Chicago and took us to many Historical sites in the city.
Very good information and food. We enjoyed ourselves. Lots of walking and time to get ready for the next food.
Good variety of Chicago Foods. The restaurants were in good locations which gave us the opportunity to also see a lot of Chicago. The guide really made the experience for us!
