There were problems with the billing and the pick up. Good tour guide overall. Likely wouldn't do it again though. It was stressful.

The Chicago Explorer Pass is a great option if you want to enjoy several attractions and activities during your visit. I purchased the 7-attraction pass because I was visiting Chicago for nine days, which made it easier to spread the activities throughout the week instead of trying to fit everything into just three days. The selection is extensive, with plenty of options to choose from. I visited Skydeck Chicago, rode the Hop-On Hop-Off Big Bus, visited 360 Chicago and the Field Museum, took an Architecture River Cruise and a Skyline Lake Tour, and participated in the Spray Paint ‘n’ Sip Chicago Street Art Workshop. The workshop was my favorite and is absolutely worth every dollar and every minute. I highly recommend it! I especially appreciated the complimentary upgrade to a second day on the Hop-On Hop-Off Big Bus, as well as the discount at the souvenir store. Booking attractions through the app was easy and convenient, which made planning the visit even simpler.
Everything went smoothly, my pass was accepted on every location, and I even got a nice discount on a Skyline Tour (7 USD/person) with my Architecture Boat Tour ticket. I was absolutely happy with my pass.
We did a girls's trip and loved this pass, we saw and did more than we ever would have without the pass. All of our attractions, tours, etc. were top notch. Because we took full advantage of the pass and toured sun up to sun down, we saved over $450 per person!!
Saved so much money going to all attractions and exhibits
A great way to see the city. The relaxation as you see the sites and the ability to get on and off.
I got the 2 day pass with 35 activities to choose from we did 10-11 activities so the pass was well worth it. At times i felt rushed though trying to fit as many as we could to get our values worth. Since the 2 day ticket requires you to use them on consecutive days. Most of the places just scan and go, some however required you to grab your ticket before entry for example the aquarium and the field museum. We left the freeactivities/shopping for the last day we were there when the pass was over. Overall it was great i highly recommend if you plan on cramping as much activities as you can in one trip.
A wonderful experience with a magnificent view of all of Chicago, the river, and Lake Michigan.
It was a great experience in one of the greates cities of the USA. The information was clear.
It was such an easy experience and a great deal. The only downside was the food tour was boring and our ghost tour was cancelled. Even with that we saved money and had a blast.
Chicago is beautiful you can’t deny that. City Go is good, however their site can use better updates and warnings. Yes, we get it there are fine prints for certain activities, but you have to look really hard before you catch that, the Tour Cruise - for example does not operate at the Navy Pier location. Also the Big Bus Tour mentioned about the 3 location options to board the cruise the day before. Also, the Navy Pier carnival rides had multiple advertisements to buy/select the activities as options as if they are open now, but when we got there it is not open. Not sure if this is a deception but it sure seems like it. We ended doing activities we didn’t want to do because it was nearby. So we kinda bought too much of the activities.
Shedd aquarium wasn't included with gocity explorer pass. Pissed waited in line just to get turned away. Bought the 4 pack but had to spent another 145.00 just for the aquarium. Pissed me off no refunds.
Great and hassle free. Acceptable in most places but yes couple of attractions life Tilt, colour museum etc are not covered. Also time is less to cover the services offered in 2 days.
Purchase was only possible online or on APP. While I tried to make purchase, I kept getting error messages indicating payment was not successful. I had to make multiple attempts to pay. Then I ended up getting charged twice for the same 3-activity pass. I contacted customer service and explained it was a duplicate purchase and asked for a refund for one of the purchase. Request was declined and I had to do the similar activities twice in order not to waste the money spend. If I want to do 6 activities, the total price would be much lower, why should I buy two 3-activity passes? Disappointed!
The pass is worth it! Got a 5 day pass and did maybe 12 or more things in 4 days!! Great value and no hiccups when redeeming. Make sure you do all of your Navy Pier rides on the same day!
Both passes offer great value for the money, but if you can afford the explorer pass, it is well worth spending the extra. There were a few attractions included that we hadn't planned to see, but found we had the time to, and we are so glad that we did. You need to plan ahead to optimize the use of the hop on hop off bus.
Seadog cancelled two architecture trips that we went to Navy Pier for because of too few customers. We told them our Go City pass expired that day and they said no problem, just come back and show your unused ticket. We did come back, after confirming with Seadog by phone, but Seadog refused our tickets at the dock even though that tour was sailing and they had space. I called GoCity and they would't help, saying there was nothing they could do, though a phone call from them may have solved it. Go City should drop Seadog from their lineup, since Go City's passes are not being fully honored. Also, in addition to hurting Go City's reputation, Go City probably paid Seadog for the unused tickets for scheduled sailings cancelled at the dock. Seadog doesn’t seem to record who actually boards and who is turned away at the dock due to tours cancelled while customers are standing in line waiting to board. $450, hours wasted, and three wasted trips to Navy Pier. I probably wouldn't buy Go City passes in another city.
Lots of options and most of the options are a good value for money va biking it directly. Also booking the GoCity pass on Viator was super convenient and easy to add it to your go city app as well. Once you add the pass you just have to go to the attractions you want to go to and scan it. Some attractions need a reservation on the app so remember to do that before going to the location.
The hop on hop off bus service is useless. Looks like Chicago has only 2 buses and they don’t show up even once in an hour. We purchased 2 day gocity all attractions pass. We wasted hours on day1 waiting for bus and were able to cover only 2 attractions, second day we used Uber and were able to cover more attractions. The pass does not cover tilt in 360 Chicago and we have to buy it paying additional cost. Don’t buy all day pass, go with explorer pass and never take hop on hop off bus.
The Go City Explorer Pass was amazing! We were able to have three jam-packed days going to a ton of different attractions. The Shoreline Skyline and Downtown Architecture cruises were a highlight. We also enjoyed seeing the city from above using the 360 Observation deck tickets during the day and the Skydeck tickets at night. Add in some nature and culture at the Shedd Aquarium and Field Musuem and we experienced a little bit of everything. We visited 10 attractions and easily could have worked 2-3 more in with the time we had! The Go City Pass was a great deal and we'll definitely purchase it again the next time we visit the city.
I visited New York, Washington, Chicago and Miami together with my son. A lifetime experience. We used Go City passes in New York and Chicago, excellent in both cities! We used the explorer pass , it was the best choice as we visited many attractions in both cities. Totally recommend it.
We went to Chicago and bought 4 passes with 4 attractions each It was easy to use, easy to make reservations for the tours tgat require reservations It was easy to cancel a reservation and reschedule Good price better than other similar passes Definitely worth it
All of our attractions were perfect. Got to see the city from three different perspectives…the street, the river and the sky. I loved every minute of it.
This is a must if you want to do the sites of Chicago. App is easy to use and we found it great. Just had an email saying we saved $351.00. Dont hesitate just do it!
The views were amazing and we took so many photos! Chicago is such an architecturally rich city and the tour guides on the Hop on Hop Off Bus, as well as Seadog Chicago River Architectural tours were so well informed. We learned so much!
We chose the 3-attraction pass for GoCity. We were here for a long weekend. I’m glad I didn’t chose more because it didn’t force us to feel rushed to use our passes. We used one for an architectural cruise, another for Chicago 360, and another for the science and industry museum. It worked out well. I was a little concerned not having a time slot reserved for the cruise, but we had no issue getting a seat on the boat.
Great experience.. Good view of the city in a round trip. Worth buying.. Enjoyed a lot. Staff assistance was great. Definetly would try one more time.
Overall is good. If I recall many years ago these Hop on/Hop off were part of the ticket and wouldn't count as 1 activity. This bus not just is only one day but ends at 5 independently of where you are. They don't allow to onboard after 5, while the bus is still circulating. I thought this was pretty bad. We had a lot to walk due to that.
Loved the pass, I didn’t have any problem making valid the pass in any attraction. The app is super useful as well to plan your visit.
The Go City pass was super easy to use, the app was very user friendly and I could pick and choose which activities I wanted to do! I was also able to prebook some activities so I was able to secure sunset spots for the towers! Overall I’d highly recommend, especially as it’s saving you money!
I loved the Go City ticket options, We chose to visit 7 different places in 3 days and enjoyed all of them. So much to see and do in Chicago. I just love this city. I highly recommend using the Go City pass.
Really good way to see the sights and save money while you’re doing so! We enjoyed everything that we saw and was very easy to use the pass.
Good way to organize the trip, save money while visiting Chicago. Easy to use and good options to choose from, will definitely get it again.
The attractions were good, the pass was easy to use, and have no trouble getting in the places. And you save money. The bus include with the pass should be more than one day
The Go City Pass is an excellent way to plan your trip. We took a trip to Chicago and used it to plan the majority of our events. Entry to events was very smooth. In fact, in many situations there was a dedicated line for those using the pass. I was very impressed by the usefulness of the Go City app. It helps you sort attractions, find background information quickly, and check hours and locations quickly on your phone. Checking in to events was very quick and smooth, by simply flashing a QR code generated within the app. It then tracks what events you have been to, and what is left on your itinerary.
Excellent value great way to choose your places of interest found the go city app very helpful super choice of sights to see
I have a complaint, in the Navy Pier, is not clear if you can go to the wheel several times as the other atractions were closed in winter. We ask several persons there and all said no, except one that was not in the whelle e trance. The app says this: Show your pass to the attendant directly at the Centennial Wheel or other rides for scanning. Please be aware that all rides must all be used on the same day. Your pass lets you ride the Centennial Wheel plus three additional rides. If you decide to skip the Wheel, you cannot choose an alternative fourth ride. With your three additional ride choices, you can go on the same ride multiple times, if you wish.
Everything was good at the Field Museum except the African exhibit. Things were not labeled. Artifacts needed to be dusted. The informational monitors were not on, not to add not plugged in. VERY DISAPPOINTING since all the other exhibits were put together well. This needs prompt attention! Adler Planetarium was very educational if you have interest in astronomy. 2 movies included with the visit. Gift shop as well.
This review is more about GO CITY PASS and VIATOR, not the attractions themselves, which were great. HOWEVER, the passes didn't load through Viator, and barcodes didn't scan and at times it felt like I had been scammed. All the tour operators were helpful and still gave us access but it was frustrating. My suggestion would be to buy direct from the people that provide the pass and not the intermediary company (Viator).
The electric ticket was invalid at 2nd day and took a lot of time to resolve this problem by online chat. Navy peer wheeling is just 3 round of couple minutes. I thought it is not worth.
Chicago is amazing! The pass worked perfectly. The only downside is that it does not include the Institute of Art, which is a must in Chicago. Besides the museums and towers I loved the Flyover, a different way to feel the city. It was a bit stressing to take 8 attractions in 4 days (including the Institute of Art which we had to pay for), but it was worth the experience
As first-time visitors to Chicago, the Go City app was wonderful. It was recommended to us by our hotel and it didn't disappoint. It was easy to use, and the flexibility of choices at various price points was also helpful. It made selecting from overwhelming options less stressful, and we of course appreciated the discounted price points on tickets.
I am always skeptical about good deals, but this one was well worth it, both for cost and convenience. No issues with the sites that needed to be prebooked.
The city is amazing!! The passes actually saved us some money, I highly recommend it!! Looking forward to new experiences:)
From the purchasing process to redeeming the passes at the attractions, it was safe, fast and easy. Plus you save some money. This is the second time we have used Go City, and once again we are satisfied.
We had a great trip to Chicago thanks to the easy way Go City Passes gave us access to various attractions. I highly recommend getting them when traveling.
Worked perfectly - 5 attractions easy to book and visit . Great value on the savings and such a great city to visit. Will use again at next city i visit
Everything was awesome. I definitely think everyone should see chicago! I definitely didn't want vacation to end so fast they have so much to see and do !! Everyone is so nice !!
We used the pass in Chicago and last year we did a similar one in New York City. The pass works very well. Its very reliable and easy to navigate. In this case we did 5 excursions with it and each place had no issues scanning our pass and off we went. In the end it does save you some money. The amount of savings depends on the number of places, cost per place etc but we found it saved in both Chicago and New York. Some events you can't sign-up as if you were buying the tickets direct however we had no problems with any of the activities we attended.
BAD experience. Purchased passes for myself & son. Mine worked fine, son's did not. Per Co City, my son should have been able to activate via QR code at first vendor visited. HOURS on the phone with zero resolution. The manager of the boat site, Nico, refused (later a vendor had no problem). Nico blamed it on Go City - neither he nor Go City was being accountable. I ended up having to pay for my son's boat ticket since I wasn't about to have him wait onshore for me -- $58!! Then -- another event we'd reserved was canceled, and GoCity's system refused to let me rebook it. And then the movie tour was also canceled. Be aware that several of the offerings are only available on weekends or just one day a week. It's a racket, deceptive, but mostly - they are absolutely not helpful, do not honor their policies. Would never, ever use this again.
