We make several interior and several exterior stops to explore downtown Chicago's most famous and beautiful Art Deco buildings from the 1920s through the 1930s.
This two hour walking tour let us see the outside and inside of some of downtown Chicago’s beautiful and still functional old office buildings at an easy pace, led by a very knowledgeable and informative guide.
This experience made me absolutely fall in love with Chicago. My guide was Spencer who is a Chicago local and also had a love for Chicago that was contagious. He made this an incredible experience and made me see things I could have never picked out on my own. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to get an inside look at some of Chicago’s historic buildings and gain a deeper insight into why they were made the way they were and what makes this city so unique.

Enjoyable trek through six building’s interior design history. Henry’s presentation was well paced , interesting and clear. Twenty people were in our group but we had no problem hearing . Well worth the time and money.

Adam gave a wonderful tour of the interiors of some of Chicago’s great buildings that would otherwise be overlooked by the lay tourist. Adam shared great knowledge about Chicago and was very interesting to listen to.

The Inside Chicago Art Deco Walking Tour was terrific. We had a small group of 7 and the Company owner, Hilary, was our guide for the 2 hour experience. What I especially liked beside explanation about the beautiful interiors (and they were), was the history behind the Art Deco movement. Hilary made it come alive. And, although it was a 2 hour walk, it was done at a comfortable, leisurely pace. Highly recommended for a Chicago visit.

Spencer was an incredible tour guide. So knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly had passion for the city. The tour had a good variety of stops and highlighted different parts of the city. As Chicago natives, we were happy to be introduced to overlooked parts of the city, and given deeper explanations of some parts we knew.

Very informative, thorough and fun experience. Spencer was our guide and he was knowledgeable, interesting and very friendly proud native Chicagoan. I felt as though we got an insider's view of Chicago- both literally and figuratively. Good choice of diverse types of buildings and architecture - from Romanesque to post- modern. A very entertaining way to spend a couple of hours.

A really informative tour of some great examples of art deco in downtown Chicago. Our tour guide, Henry, was excellent, giving us all the history and context of each of the locations visited.

One of best and entertaining walking tour
This was our second tour with Henry, and it complemented (with minimal overlap) the Dazzling Interiors of the Loop tour that we took previously. Again, Henry’s comprehensive knowledge of Chicago’s history and architecture was complemented by his training as a structural engineer. Whilst in Chicago, it is recommended that one take both tours for a more comprehensive and enriching experience.

The tours at the Chicago Architecture Center are outstanding. I've been to many. This month I went to the Chicago Women in Architecture which is about an hour and a half walking tour. We went down by the river walk and ended around Millennium Park. Our docent was well informed and such a great tour guide. I went to her Graceland Cemetery tour as well a while ago. Bravo CAC! Highly recommend any of their tours.
