The room was clean and everything about the hotel is mostly fine, except the workers are on strike and making tons of noise outside the hotel. Unfortunately woke me and my family, including my two young kids up very early. It also frightened them a lot coming and going from the hotel. Do not stay here while the workers are on strike if you want to sleep.

We crawled off a red-eye like zombies in pain, With bags under eyes and no fuel in our brain. We dragged into Chicago, prepared for the worst, Expecting a lobby where hopes get dispersed. "Check-in is at four," is the rule of the land, Instead, the Westin front desk raised a hand! Like angels disguised in crisp hotel attire, They saw we were running on fumes and crossfire. "Here's a room right away," they declared with a smile, Saving our lives by a Chicago mile! We collapsed in the sheets with a glorious thud, Reviving our spirits and circulating our blood. A nap of pure luxury, quiet and deep, Turns out Westin beds know the meaning of sleep! We woke up reborn, not a shadow of dread, Ready for events with a functioning head. And the victories kept coming, one after the other: We dodged hotel valet prices, oh brother! Found parking across the street—cheap as could be, A good deal on the streets of Chi city! Then right round the corner, what caught our keen eye? The sleek Rivian showroom, shiny and fly. We drooled on electric trucks fresh off the line, Feeling well-rested, thrifty, and fine. So here’s to the legends who gave us our keys, Who brought two worn travelers straight to their knees. Five stars for Michigan Avenue’s best— They saved us from burnout and gave us our rest
So the hotel was fine. Here are my issues. First, they've got a $30 a day Resort fee. In theory, you could get all that money back with what they offer, but you won't. Each recognizes being a bit of a ripoff in general, doing that. Just charge $30 more for the room. Also ran into some issues with service. Sometimes get asked for something from the front desk and it doesn't show up. That's fine if it happens once twice. With us, it happens several times, almost consistently. In the shower head crabby pressure, all on our floor we found out. Finally, went to the front desk and asked somebody for help, she said "well you have to go down there to get that done, I can't help you with that." That's a bunch of crap. Just walk over and get what I need. If you were there, you'd understand what I'm talking about.
We had our wedding room block at this hotel, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations. From the very beginning, Sanela and the entire team were an absolute pleasure to work with. They made every part of the process—from setting up our room block and securing great rates to seamlessly adding additional rooms as our block filled up—so easy and stress-free. What really stood out, though, was how genuinely invested they were in making our wedding weekend feel special. They went above and beyond to make sure both our guests and we had a wonderful experience. They even personally distributed our welcome bags to each guest's room before arrival, rather than simply handing them out at check-in, which was such a thoughtful touch and made our guests feel so welcomed from the moment they arrived. We were also so touched by the welcome goodies waiting in both my room and the groom's room. These little details made us feel incredibly celebrated and cared for. Knowing our guests were in such great hands gave us one less thing to worry about during an already busy weekend. We are so grateful to Sanela and the entire team for their kindness, attention to detail, and exceptional hospitality. We couldn't recommend them more highly!
We had an excellent stay at The Westin Chicago. From the moment we arrived, the staff was welcoming, organized, and clearly focused on guest service. We arrived early before our room was ready, but the team made the process easy by securely storing our luggage, providing claim tags, and texting us as soon as the room became available. That level of convenience made a strong first impression. The hotel itself is spacious, clean, and well-managed. Our room was quiet and soundproof—we never heard neighboring guests, which made for a very relaxing stay. The on-site restaurant had great food options, which was convenient after a long day of exploring the city. The location is another major plus. You’re within walking distance of great spots like The Cheesecake Factory, Water Tower Place, Starbucks Reserve Roastery, and several other restaurants and attractions. Transportation was always readily available right outside the hotel if needed. You can tell this is a well-established Marriott property, especially with the number of airline crews staying here, which speaks to its reputation and reliability. Whether you’re visiting Chicago for business or vacation, I would absolutely recommend The Westin for its location, service, comfort, and convenience.
