This was our first time visiting Chicago and we chose this hotel for the location. We liked our stay overall. Pros: this hotel is in a very good location. 2 min walk to the riverwalk. Room was clean. We somehow got an accessible room when we didn’t request it and it was spacious and nice (we expected a closet) Staff were nice and helpful. Cons: you are right by the roads so you constantly hear loud cars and ambulances. I had trouble sleeping the first night. The room has a “mini fridge” that looks like a drawer but it was barely working. Didn’t keep my drinks cool enough. Water pressure (shower) was really weak. Also the shower being right by the door and floor being flat (due to accessible features) made us nervous the water could get into the room even with towel down. This hotel is very very minimal. If you like it that’s fine, but it was a little too basic for me at times.

We had such a great stay at citizenM Chicago! The hotel was modern, comfortable, and in such a convenient location for exploring the city. What really made our experience special, though, was the hospitality. A huge shoutout to our front desk friend Paige! She was incredibly welcoming, friendly, and hospitable from the moment we arrived. She made us feel right at home and was always so kind and helpful whenever we saw her. Great customer service truly makes a difference when traveling, and Paige definitely helped make our Chicago stay even more memorable. (Much love from the east coast!) Would absolutely stay here again on my next trip to Chicago! ❤️
Euro-style hotel just south of the Michigan Ave bridge. Blink on Wacker Place and you will miss it. Efficient rooms. The use of space is great. Plenty of area to hang items, get ready. Refrige. iPad controls. Lighting that makes sense. Rarely felt small. Sound proofed. We stayed during Lolla, didn’t even hear the elevator ding at night. Good food. The brunch was very European. The snacks American. Both were better than expected. Common cool. There are a lot of areas to hang out. Eat. TV. Meeting space. Outdoor space. Waiting space. Updated. Comfy. Never felt small.
★★★★★ CitizenM Chicago was easily one of the highlights of my trip. From the moment I checked in, everything was smooth, efficient, and well organized. The hotel has a modern, stylish design that feels unique without sacrificing comfort. Every area was exceptionally clean, and you can tell the staff takes pride in keeping the property in great condition. The location is outstanding and made it incredibly convenient to explore Chicago. Many of the city’s top attractions, restaurants, and shopping areas were within walking distance, so I rarely needed transportation. It was the perfect home base for my first visit to the city. The room was thoughtfully designed to make the most of the space. Even though it wasn’t large, it had everything I needed and never felt cramped. The bed was extremely comfortable, the room was quiet at night, and all of the technology was easy to use. Every detail seemed intentionally designed to make the stay as comfortable as possible. The staff was friendly, welcoming, and always willing to help with recommendations or answer questions. The entire experience felt seamless from check-in to check-out, which made the trip even more enjoyable. I would absolutely stay at CitizenM Chicago again and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, modern hotel in a fantastic location. It exceeded my expectations in every way and made my first trip to Chicago even more memorable.
We had a great stay. The rooms were small, which we knew before booking, but note this isn't the best option if you are not travelling solo or as a couple. Despite its size the room was well appointed, clean, and functioned well. The bathroom was really clean and nice, and the shower experience was definitely fun with the two shower heads and customization of the jets and lights. The bed was firm, but not overly so, and the pillows were comfortable. We had a great sleep. The room was comfortable during the heatwave, and we never thought we were too hot. The TV was nice and worked well too. But honestly? We spent most of our time on the terrace, which was so comfortable with a wonderful view of downtown. We'd recommend the breakfast too, as you get good coffee, lox, and a reasonable selection for an American budget chain. The only downside for us was the lack of bedside outlets. We'd stay here again without hesitation.
