Excellent overview of Chiang Rai. We visited several sites including white temple, blue temple, tea plantation, and golden triangle area. The tour leader was informative and provided clear instructions for keeping the tour on time. Highly recommend if seeking a good one day experience.

The white temple was created by Thai artist Chalermchai Kositpipat. With the construction of the temple he has set himself a memorial and made his hometown a great gift. The Ubosot is the absolute highlight of the visit.
Wat Rong Suea Ten is simply called The Blue Temple. The large ordination hall was completed in 2016 and is therefore relatively unknown to tourists. The name Suea Ten literally means dancing tiger. The temple is similarly rich in artistic value and just as fantastic in the execution like the white temple. The creators of this blue wonder were once the disciples of the builder of the White Temples
Baan Dam (Black House) is the unique creation of national artist, Thawan Duchanee. It is a part art studio and part museum. The black house is an eclectic mix of traditional northern. A collection of around 40 buildings of varying shapes and sizes dotted around a peaceful garden.
Longneck Karen is one of Karen tribes. They call themselves Padaung. It is believed that originally they came from Yunnan Province, central China. Later in 1000 AD according to the history, they migrated to Salween River Basin in Myanmar. In 1995, there were approximately 25,000 Padaungs living in Myanmar. They mainly live on traditional agricultural activities. After political incident against the minorities in Myanmar, Padaungs have evacuated from Myanmar and until now cannot fully identify where is the major location they are living in.
The high quality tea manufacturer for half a century. With plantation area of over 1,000 rais in high mountain, all teas are grown under optimal conditions then hand picked at the perfect time.
The Golden Triangle is a region in the Laos, Thailand and Myanmar borderlands where opium poppy is grown and processed into heroin. The significance of the Golden Triangle as a supplier to the global heroin market has dropped significantly as a result of drug production in Afghanistan. The Golden Triangle is synonymous with opium, heroin, and drug trafficking in Southeast Asia. The term dates back to 1971. It goes back partly to the geometric shape of the triangle-forming countries Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam and Laos, on the other probably on the gold, with the Chinese traders initially paid the opium.
The museum was founded by Patcharee Srimatyakul in 1990. Born in the area, Patcharee had a passion for collecting opium paraphernalia and memorabilia. When she noticed that opium items were becoming extremely hard to find — with Thailand cracking down on the illegal drug trade — she turned the collection into a museum open to the public. The exhibits display tools and objects used to plant, harvest and trade opium, including pipes, scales, weights, knives, scrapers. It also includes some lovely poppy flowers, the source of opium production.

The tour is a very fun and jam-packed day! The temples were beautiful! The guide was very good with being both the driver and guide during the off season small tour we had.
Full day tour starting at the spectacular White Temple. Then onto Blue temple which is stunning in a different way. Black House is worth a visit but not my cup of tea. lunch nearby, buffet style. Looked simple but was very tasty. Pace changed in afternoon. Karen Long neck tribe- worth a visit as these traditions will surely die out over time. Ladies in the village are all very friendly. Stopping at tea plantation on way to Golden Triangle and Opium museum. Overall a long day. I felt a few of the stops were a bit long, but I guess when you’re accommodating a group of 8, you need to give everyone their own time. Skye was a very pleasant guide, offering insights as well as taking pictures of the travellers as each of the stops. Definitely worth doing if it’s your first time in CR. Next time I might focus on some more traditional sites in and around the town as well!
Hit every major area, including White Temple blue Temple black house. Then to lunch tea plantation and golden triangle heroin house as advertised. Guide was very thorough. Tried very hard to hit the high points with us. Took a full 10 hours an alternative would be just doing three hours in White Temple, blue temple and Black House in probably almost as good.
The trip went very smoothly and we saw a lot. The guide and the driver were both very friendly.
This is the second time we’ve done this tour with Sky. We enjoyed it so much the first time that we decided to do it again. It’s a very complete tour, and you get to see all the must-see places in Chiang Rai in just one day. Sky has a great personality, connects really well with people, explains everything clearly, and is always happy to answer questions. Bimbim, our driver, was also great and made the trip very comfortable.
Really relaxed day out - both the tour with Sky and the locations. Lots of stops but I felt the time for each stop was adequate with no hanging around. Included buffet lunch to fill up on (vegetarian available) and tea tasting. We were back in Chiang Rai around 6pm
We had an amazing day on this tour, saw the White temple,Blue temple, Black house museum, Long Karen village, Tea plantation, Golden triangle, Opium museum and lunch was lush too! Sky was the guide and Beam beam the driver they were both very friendly and professional and had so much knowledge. We had plenty of time at each place and it never felt rushed. I highly recommend this tour. Thank you Sky and Beam beam!
We were going to do some tours separately until we came across this... full day full of fun and every stop was both interesting and worth a visit. However the most important and amazing part of our trip was our guide Sky and our driver Beam Beam, 100% recommended
This was a great one day trip from Chiang Rai. John was our guide & Sky was our driver, both were kind and patiently guided us through all the attractions. We had a memorable day.
It was a great tour the guys are very friendly and make everyone feel comfortable, great sights 5 stops and they pick you up and bring back. It was a beautiful day
Nice full day tour with a lot of attractions but still with enough time to explore the places visited at your own pace. John, our guide, was very knowledgeable and shared plenty of information with us throughout the day. Recommended!
Highly recommend this tour Sky was top tour guide with a lot of information, Thai lunch buffe lunch was good. Vân was confrontable
Had an amazing time with Skye on this tour! Very friendly tour guide and the sights were fantastic. White Temple looks like something from game of thrones, super intricate and the artist clearly put a lot of thought into the design. Blue temple was also very impressive. We spent a good amount of time at each stop and the lunch included also catered to vegetarians. Thanks for a wonderful trip!
We really enjoyed this all-day tour although the weather was crazy hot 😁 White temple, blue temple were fantastic. We loved tea plantation area and golden triangle the most. l personally did not enjoy visiting long- neck tripe (as seeing women suffering is not something l could support/watch), therefore l would prefer spending more time at tea plantation area than visiting the tripe. Our guide Yok, she was fantastic and fun! The lunch was authentic and good as well.
This was a Very interesting tour in which we saw so many things. It was well organised and Skye was a brilliant guide. Thanks.
Both the tour guide and the driver were fantastic. The guide was very informative and helpful. Highly recommend this tour.
Sky, our tour guide and driver came dot on time, we picked up another couple and drove to our first stop, the white temple. Spent almost an hour in this facnating masterpiece. I feel it was the best temple I have seen. The caves were next. The next was the blue temple,, the ghost museum, the art museum . The golden triangle is where the borders of Myanmar, Thailand and Cambodia meet. This used to be famous/ infamous opium smuggling route. . Sky, our guide com driver was very informative and gave us all the details.
Great full day experience . Enjoyed the tour guides and great lunch. The van was comfortable and we got to see all the major sites.
Sky was a great tour guide. My only critique would be that the van we were in would have been cooler a/c.Lunch was very good as well.
We saw every major landmark in Chiang Rai. Guide Benja went above and beyond. We had a great day, thank you!
Sky was a very nice and kind tour guide. We had a great time together and I even made some new friends! Thank you so much! Highly recommend!
The trip was amazing, it had all the major spots, because it starts off Chiang Rai so there is much more time. The tour guide was very professional, in my opinion. She is local, she knows very well all the historical/traditional aspects, and her tour was in depth. I totally disagree with other reviews, that say it's just a taxi. I had many meaningful discussions about many things related to the places we visited. Her English ability is pretty adequate to explain everything in detail. The pickup and drop off was at our hotel. Overall a wonderful experience.
This tour was really more of a planned transportation to get to sights in Chiang Rai as well as villages and Golden Triangle. There was a little input from the guide about history and sights prior to arriving at each site then we were exited the van and explored on our own. My husband and I enjoyed the tour but it would have been nice to get more information about what we were seeing at each location. The lunch was good though the facility was outdoor and a little hot. Given the price point, though, the amount of information shared and buffet lunch was in line with amount paid. My recommendation would be to bring a guide book of your own if you want more information about the sights.
We had an absolutely amazing day! Everything was perfectly organized, and the experience exceeded my expectations. The scenery was breathtaking, the activities were so much fun, and the staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. I truly enjoyed every moment and felt completely relaxed and entertained. This was one of the best day trips I’ve ever had, and I would definitely do it again. Highly recommended!" Many thanks to Kay and Bim Bim
The tour was good. We went to so many places and kept a timely pace. We would not have been able to see so much on our own. The guide spoke limited English but she really tried to explain things the best she could.
Amazing places and Sky was an amazing guide providing information and taking care of everyone in the tour
A well planned and organised trip. The White Temple, Long Necked Karen's, Golden Triangle and Opium Museum were the highlight visits of the 7 trips for me but of course this is a personal opinion. The guide "Sky" and our driver were excellent even going out of the way to return my husband's smartphone, well after the day had ended, which he had left in the mini bus. Excellent value and would definitely recommend the tour.
Tour was fantastic. Tour guide very knowledgeable and friendly. Explained everything and answered all our questions. He even bought snacks for us.
This tour was a perfect way to dip your toe into Chiang Rai & surrounding area’s. Our guide, Skye and driver Arnold did a fantastic job keeping everyone on track, safe, comfortable and well informed prior to each stop. Skye was fluent in English and kept us all laughing with her great sense of humor. Her information was much appreciated as you really got so much more out of each experience with the knowledge she shared. The vehicle was clean & well maintained with bottled water stocked when needed. You get to see a wide range of people, history, culture and attractions in the 12hr tour. We found ourselves a bit rushed at each stop but would still recommend this tour to anyone visiting the Chiang Rai area. They even offered to drop us off at the night market and clock tower at the end. 100% recommend!
We were able to visit all these places, however, our guide did not know English. It was her first day and she had no information to give us about what we were seeing, other than the name and where and when we should meet up.
Sky was a wonderful travel guide. The ride was also smooth thanks to Bimbim. Overall, a worthy trip.
We had an amazing day with Sky! So much filled into one day. Would definitely recommend, one of our favourite things we’ve done in a long time!
There was a lot of driving but we saw a large variety of places in one day. Lunch was good. Guide was attentive but not great English skills.
Great day with lots of places seen in 1 day. Exceptional value for money, but extra approximately 530 baht in entrance fees to pay on the day. Unfortunately our guide’s English left a little bit to be desired, that made finding out about the places we visited tricky, but heard lots from other guides talking while there. That said we had a great day.
Excellent travel guide. Best I've had so far. Very good English & very knowledgeable about all aspects of the tour destinations. A very kind soul who made the tour my favourite so far. Additionally, the tour destinations are actually very nice. These temples have intricate architecture and design. The golden triangle is fascinating, especially when accompanied by the tour guide's explanation of its historical significance with trade between the countries. Highly recommend this tour.
Pick up on time.Clean and new van. The driver was safe. Guide and drive spoke english. Very knowledgeable. Would recommend.
Long day, take snacks for underway. Very busy in the beginning with lots of tour groups, later more quiet. Varied program, best part in the beginning, later parts (tea plantation and border triangle) not really worth the long drive. All in all nice trip
This is a long day’s trip lasting over 10 hours with some lengthy drives in between but it does the highlights in a day which is great if you are on a whistle-stop tour. Our tour guide, Sky, was friendly and enthusiastic with acceptable English and the driver was safe and careful but quick enough. We hit the White Temple first for 45 minutes then the Blue Temple which were worth seeing. Baan Dom was interesting for the art. The Karen Hill Tribe is an interesting visit but is optional and essentially visiting a myriad of stalls with goods full of mostly Chinese origin although some of the wooden ornaments are made locally. We bought some scarves which were good quality and reasonably priced but unlikely they were made here on the small hand looms. Lunch was unexpectedly good - traditional Thai food - with plenty on offer. Thereafter the tea tasting was perhaps a visit too far and then off to the Golden Triangle to see an unremarkable bit of water, although the Opium Museum was a bit of an education. All in all the day was good value for money but remember it doesn’t include your entry fees which totalled 580Baht if you did all visits (Blue Temple and Tea Plantation are free).
A nicely paced day, with many stops, and enough time spent at each to leisurely enjoy. The temples were amazing, though seeing other things as well made the tour more enjoyable to me. The Long Neck Karen village was quite interesting, the tea plantation was beautiful though that was more of a rest stop and possibly to buy products there. The opium museum wasn't too interesting to me though the gift shop was good. The guide, Sky, and driver, Jason, were very kind and helpful and Sky explained quite a bit before we reached the various destinations as she did not accompany us into all of them. It was a great way to spend the day.
We had a great day with Sky and her team! The trip is great value for money, it’s a long day but worth it because you get to see so much. The lunch was simple but tasty. We would really recommend!
There was no tour guide at the first two points. Both white and blue temples were beautiful but no tour guide to explain what we are looking at. I have to listen from other tour group who was explaining.
Great day with lots of places to visit. Good choice of sight-seeing places, enough time to look around. Great English speaking lady guide
Our tour guide Sky did a fantastic job! Smiling, patient, and flexible, she turned this tour into a memorable experience. Thank you once again! 🙏 Highly recommended!👍👍👍
Our guide, Sky was exceptional. It was a fabulous day our and I HIGHLY recommend this tour. You will be VERY happy you did!
The itinerary is great and lets you see a lot however it is not a tour it is more of a transfer service that takes you to all these places for a predetermined amount of time carrying from 30 mins to 1 hour. I was disappointed when my tour guide didn’t speak much English and didn’t explain any history. If you want to be driven around to all of these places and explore in your own this is a great option. Also the tea plantation and opium museum were disappointing.
If you are a solo traveller, I highly recommend this tour as an affordable way to see the many spectacular sights of Chiang Rai. It’s very good value for money. You get to visit seven different places which would have been very expensive to hire a private taxi to see. I think our guide was new; she tried her best. She was very polite and friendly. As her confidence develops, I’m sure she’ll be great. She lacked confidence answering questions and we could have done with a little more information at the sites. Definitely recommend the tour nonetheless. A great day!
The pick-up from my hotel was a bit late (more than 20 mins). It might be to do with the traffic. Apart from this, the tour has been fantastic. Both the driver and the tour guide Skye were excellent.
We took this tour from Chiang Rai. we are very happy and satisfied with the tour . All the places we visited are beautiful and very interesting. Our guide Mai was very knowledgeable, nice and friendly. She explained all the history and details about every place very patiently. Even though we had several stops she efficiently managed the time so we had plenty of time at all attractions. And the lunch was absolutely delicious. The van was perfect for the group. Our driver was also a very nice and friendly gentleman. Overall the tour exceeded our expectations . We definitely recommend Yada to everyone.
