Today’s tour takes us to Chiang Rai’s most iconic attractions and high on this list is Wat Rong Khun, which is also famously known as the ‘White Temple’. This is a lifetime project of renowned artist Chalermchai Kositpipat. The amazing architectural masterpiece combines a traditional Thai temple-design with a fine blend of traditional Buddhist art, plus contemporary themes and it is finished off with thousands of pieces of small, mirrored glass which substantially adds to its dramatic beauty. Next, we visit ornate Wat Phra Sing which houses a replica of the Phra Sing Buddha, a highly revered image, as the original was removed from the city of Chiang Mai. We also take in Wat Phra Keow, which during the 13th century housed the famed Emerald Buddha. This informative and enlightening tour continues with a pleasant trishaw ride back to the hotel
