Our unique tuk-tuk tour takes you on a fun-filled journey that reveals an authentic side of Chiang Rai. You will pass the King Mengrai Monument, which commemorates the monarch who founded the city of Chiang Rai in 1262. Next is the golden clock tower. Built in 2008 to honour His Majesty the King Bhumibhol Adulyadej, this clock tower bears the signature of Chalermchai Kositpipat, the renowned artist who conceived and built the city’s famed White Temple. Every evening at 8 pm and 9 pm, the clock tower comes to life with a light-and-sound display. Next stop is the fresh market and afterwards we will take you to the famous Chiang Rai Night Market where you can buy superb souvenirs of your trip. After shopping, take a seat and enjoy a plethora of food and drink options. There is also the opportunity to enjoy a performance of classical Thai dance (extra charge). Our dedicated guide will also enlighten you about Chiang Rai’s history and culture on this excursion.
