The Legend has mixed reviews, but I decided to experience it for myself and I’m glad I stayed here. The room was cozy and had everything I needed, including a huge shower room and a separate toilet. I also felt genuinely welcomed with a welcome juice, fruit, chocolates at turndown, and thoughtful touches like the towel decoration. The highlight for me was the breakfast buffet. There was a wide selection of both Western and local dishes, plus live noodle and egg stations. The General Manager, Eric, and his team took great care of the guests and were always warm and welcoming. I really enjoyed the Thai hospitality here. There are plenty of international chain hotels in Chiang Rai, but I’d happily choose The Legend again. It also felt like very good value for money. The only downside was the fitness center, so I decided to skip the workout and enjoy the river view instead.

We went in September and had the resort almost to ourselves. The service was amazing and so friendly. If there was anything they could help us with, they were there. Very clean and specious rooms. It was even better than we expected. Good variety of breakfast foods and also a clean swimming pool that we enjoyed a lot. Would very much recommend.
This was my third stay at The Legend in 4 years & as usual, it was wonderful. The location next to the river is perfect, it’s not too far from the cbd & it’s fascinating navigating the narrow streets that lead to its spacious & well kept gardens & ponds. The entrance is beautiful especially at night & the reception area is nicely laid out & sets the tone for the stay. The staff are very friendly & professional, whether the gardeners & cleaners or the wait staff & chefs. Eric the manager is a charming host & I enjoyed his interest in his guests. The rooms are very comfortable & well laid out, the pool is refreshing, the gym is cool & private, I have nothing negative to say about The Legend and would happily recommend it for anyone, whether a family or a couple looking for a romantic break.
We stayed in the Pool Villa for 3 nights and had a really nice, relaxing stay. The villa was spacious, clean, and well maintained, and the private pool was spotless. The whole property had a lovely ambience, and the staff were all super friendly and welcoming. We also loved that the villa had a big TV, which was a nice bonus! The only downside was the breakfast. It wasn't bad, but the spread was quite basic and repetitive over the three days. Other than that, everything was great. We'd definitely come back for another relaxing getaway!
Could not ask for a better hotel. The grounds are beautiful and kept in the most perfect state of nature without disorder. The entire resort is lined with trees and at night the lamps provide a warm ambiance. The manager and his staff are all incredibly kind. It is the type of place that is elevated but does not feel pretentious and cut off from local culture. In fact the entire resort embraces Thai architecture and hospitality, and mixes it with western comforts. Looking forward to my next stay!
