Itinerary
Spend your evening cooking Thai dishes in a beautiful countryside setting. After hotel pickup, arrive at our organic farm just in time to enjoy the peaceful sunset atmosphere. Explore the farm, collect eggs from the chickens, and step inside the mushroom hut for a unique farm-to-table experience. In our cozy open-air kitchen, each participant has their own cooking station. Guided by our patient instructors, you’ll prepare 5 authentic Thai dishes, including Thailand’s most beloved dessert, Mango Sticky Rice. Cooking in the warm glow of sunset creates a special atmosphere that makes this session unlike any other. Unlike other sessions, the evening class focuses entirely on the farm and kitchen experience, letting you cook, explore, and relax as the sun sets over the rice fields. After cooking, share your homemade dishes together, then relax on the ride back to your hotel with unforgettable flavors and a perfect end to your day in Chiang Mai.

Excellent afternoon from start to finish , San was our cooking instructor she was great , great food , great tutor in beautiful surroundings. Also pick up and drop off included .
This session was really interesting, learning all about Asian vegetables and then cooking them! Jimme was absolutely hilarious, they made the session 10 times better
The experience at Grandmas Cooking School was excellent. Everything we made was so delicious. Looking forward to making this at home.
This cooking class was very enjoyable. The location was modern and well-equipped, and everything we made turned out delicious. Our guide was fun, knowledgeable, and made the experience both educational and entertaining. A highlight for anyone interested in Thai cooking.
Brilliant afternoon learning how to cook Thai dishes, Roger was amazing very informative and great with his instructions and ideas on how to cook traditional Thai dishes
I had the most amazing time and experience here. I think it's a must if you love Thai Food. You can bring home the receipt and memories
Well organised, good instructor, fantastic food. Enjoyed being able to choose which soup, curry and pad Thai I wanted to cook and to cook them myself. Have done cooking schools in other countries where everyone helps prepare one starter, one main course etc, which is cooked by the instructor and shared. I preferred Grandma's Home Cooking School! Have fun comparing how your curry tastes compared to everyone else's! Had good overview of herbs and vegetables to be used in the cooking but did not actually pick them ourselves. Not an issue. I highly recommend this cooking school. Pair with a street food tour to have a good overview of Thai cuisine!
Other than some delays for some pick ups the experience was great. We were delayed about 45 min for arrival which delayed our end time. Plus they didn't contact us for a pick up time so call ahead to confirm as it can vary depending where you stay in Chiang Mai. Overall, we had a great time, staff was great, food was great and wasn't too long. Thumbs up !!
Brian, our chef teacher, was both very skilled and amiable. He showed us the garden where herbs and spices are grown and took us through each step to produce a soup, stir fry, curry and a dessert. His instructions and the ingredients provided ensured the food we cooked was delicious - and it was. The experience was a useful introduction to Thai cuisine and one I would recommend to fellow travellers.
If you’ve always wanted to learn how to make a Thai curry or sticky mango rice or Pad Thai, this is the place for you. Chef Garnet showed us each ingredient from the organic garden, taught us how to chop each ingredient and guided us through creating a delicious Thai meal, which we then enjoyed. She did it all with a clever sense of humor and joyful encouragement. Any group trip to Chiangmai would be enhanced by this experience.
Did the evening experience and it was a nice break away from the city. Loved the farm to table approach and cooking our favorite dishes as well as provided the recipes for later use. Definitely built confidence and took away the perceived complexity of making the dishes we love so much and has us excited to replicate on our own in our home country!
Lots of fun and delicious food! Able to accommodate allergies and does drop off and pickup at our hotel. Our guide Jimmie was funny and felt like we learned a lot
Amazing host and gorgeous setting and food experience, we loved this! It’s a definite must do! Best 4 hours spent.
Beautiful and peaceful location, professional staff with good English, saw the herbs growing and held the chickens, enjoyed the cooking and the food was delicious and fresh. Come hungry!
Patty was a great teacher and made it a lot of fun. We enjoyed learning about the fresh ingredients in the garden. The food was delicious and we will recreate the dishes at home!
Amazing experience! Beautiful place, very professional class, the food was delicious! I highly recommend it! A lot of fun!
This class was so much fun. The food was delicious! The herbs were taken straight from the garden. Kiki was a wonderful instructor.
Incredible experience with Mac. He was patient and knowledgeable and the grounds were lovely. The food was all fresh and delicious
Wonderful experience, amazing setting with a fab instructor, so much yummy food, great value for money, 100% recommend!
Highly recommended . Thanks for a great afternoon/ evening of cookery and relaxation. Toon was a good chef and teacher .
Excellent food , easy to make and amazing garden, very beautiful and tipical ! The tools and kitchen are very nice and clean.
A cookery school with Loads of tour groups and work like a machine. Well organised though not for everyone. We were put in a group of 18 with very rowdy families. We asked to change and praise to the staff they were able to put us to another group.
Pick up was easy to organize and timely. Facility was immaculate; everything was so clean and beautiful! The food was incredible, all the ingredients were so fresh and tasty. Great instructors made the lesson very easy to follow and they tidied our stations between each dish for efficient cooking. Super fun experience, would definitely come again if Im in Chiang Mai!
Bryan our chief was amazing , professional, fun .. day starts with pick up from accommodation, straight to food market , where he taught us a few things about the ingredients we would be using then onto the farm were the open air kitchen are , with chickens , rice , herb gardens etc .. everything is perfect & spotless .. we did 3 dishes of our choice.. didnt know i could cook that good , tasted amazing , i wish i didnt eat breakfast before because i couldn’t fit it all in .. wonderful experience, highly recommend,
A really fun, informative and delicious cooking course where we got to cook and eat 4 Thai meals, choosing from a section of about 4 options for each course. Natalie our host was really nice and clear, talking and showing through all of the steps for each meal. Also was a fairly small group of 10 which was nice. I have a nut allergy and there was no problem with this whatsoever. Setting of the cooking course was also beautiful!
Top activity's The pickup is arranged and off we go Gathering the others and arriving at the venue : Nice setting and perfect place and nice host Nathalie Ready to cook and embrace the lovely Thai cuisine Good fellowship and making new friends while cooking and enjoying the company Tasting our food and enjoying ourselves we strongly recommend this venue and concept thanks to all
The experience was amazing ! We learned about shopping at a local market, growing common herbs and vegetables in Thai cooking then how to make several delicious dishes. Bryan was informative and entertaining. Loved it!
Food is really good , and the place is beautiful , i could do it again , we choose the pm class , my 14 years old daughter love it to
the facilities were clean and well kept. instructions were educational and fun. the experience was a great overall experience, and the food was tasty! Joyzaa and Brian were so insightful and helpful with their instructions and experience. We brought home great memories and experience to bring their food and culture to our home in the US.
It was such a great experience. Our Chef Garnet was courteous and lovely! I recommend to everyone to do this school once in a lifetime. A must do in Chiang Mai.
Amazing experience, would recommend to anyone! The grounds are beautiful, especially at sunset. Psa lots of lovely food, no need for lunch before
The whole experience was 10/10, lovely group size, great staff, farm was incredible to walk through and hear about each herb and crop. Definitely not something to miss in Chiang Mai
Highly recommend, our chef was so friendly and helpful. Food was super tasty and lots of options, could have spicy or not and you can add what ingredients suit you!
Honestly really enjoyed it. Super easy and we actually made good food thanks to the teacher, thank you
This is a must do for anyone traveling in Thailand. It’s a great way to connect with culture and have an amazing meal while learning about the food and culture. Do not pass this up!!
What a not to love! High energy, entertaining and hilarious chef with a professional, punctual and very well organised transport team. My wife and I were made welcome from start to finish. The grounds and facilities were top draw, only 15 mins from the centre of Chiang Mai. Everyone that paid to join had the same impression. We met like minded and wonderful people at the class too which is an added bonus. Now to the class. I don’t want to spoil it for you but when they say come hungry, they mean it! Very easy to follow and learn with excellent catering support and equipment. I didn’t realise I could produce the quality of dishes we made!! I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending this to anyone and will visit again when I am back. Best chef ever, who made our evening so very special :) And as an added bonus, a professional photographer who took pics of us throughout, uploaded them to their website and the company provide these as high resolution photographs for FREE. Brilliant.. well done team!
This was a wonderful experience! The instructor was very knowledgeable about the ingredients and clearly a skilled chef. He was also funny and a good teacher. The grounds were beautiful and they had a lot of the ingredients we used in our dishes on-site in their gardens, which were able to tour. It was nice to have individual stations for each person and to have the opportunity to select your preferred protein for each course. They also provided us with local drinks (e.g., Thai tea) and free water with the option to purchase beer. Pick up and drop off at our hotels was also a nice touch and very smooth. Note: The description for the experience was inaccurate since we did not go to a market to buy our ingredients (instead we toured their gardens where they grow the herbs and vegetables for many of the dishes) and there were 12 people in our group instead of 8. However, neither of these discrepancies negatively impacted our experience.
Incredible experience in this farm based cooking school. They picked us up at the hotel and we were transported to the farm. Nathalie our host gave us a tour of the farm and an overview of all the herbs and vegetables we would be using. We then we're introduced to all our class (17 pairs). Nathalie gave great instructions along with her support team preparing all the ingredient's and keeping the class at the correct pace. Each course we prepared ourselves and then consumed in a warm collegial atmosphere. Thanks Nathalie and all involved for such an outstanding evening.
We had a private class. Just four of us (2 in our 50s and 2 in our 20s). I love to eat Thai food back home, but always thought it too difficult to cook. This class was wonderful. It was fun and made me think now that I could actually try to cook Thai food back home. We toured the farm first and then got to choose which dishes to make. We could change things up and some of us made dishes that were more spicy and some less. Food was delicious and great atmosphere.
We originally had the morning class booked however the teacher wasn’t available so they were very accomodating and offered us the afternoon class at the same price. We were picked up from our hotel and we were in awe once we arrived at the property, very tranquil and beautiful. Our class was intimate (3 couples) and we were taken to where their produce grows on sight and learnt all about the northern herbs and vegetables before we cooked, we got to smell, taste and experience the ingredients which we loved. Our teacher Joyzaa was hilarious, incredibly knowledgeable and taught us how to make her delicious family recipes. We were a bit confused as to why there was no market visit as stated however our experience with Joyzaa made up for it - this was the highlight of our trip to Chiang Mai and special memories we will hold close to our hearts forever. We can’t wait to create these delicious meals back home and hopefully we will be back to Thailand again soon to visit again and learn more. A very special place that we highly recommend experiencing for yourself.
This tour was well organized and so much fun! Our guide was informative and friendly. We loved seeing all the ingredients in the gardens and then making our own creation. The rest of the staff was cleaning up after us as we went and the entire evening went very smoothly! Highly recommend!
This cooking class was one of the highlights of our whole trip! The farm was beautiful and our guide, Garnet, was so much fun. She gave us a tour of the farm and let us try the fresh herbs they grow there. We learned so much about the traditional Thai dishes we made. The instruction was very thorough and the food was delicious! Very highly recommend, great memories!
This was highly organized and a great cooking experience. They made the dishes seem extremely easy to prepare on your own. Not sure if that will happen! The classes are outdoors which is great for air circulation purposes but it also brings the elements of bugs.
My boyfriend and I did the evening cooking session. We booked 1 person to cook and the other as a visitor. This worked great for us because you cook 4 different dishes so you get so full and need another person to help you eat! They also gave him some of the meals they prepared as an example. They picked us up and dropped us off at our hotel, gave us an apron and hat to wear, we did a tour of the farm, and then started cooking! The food was delicious and they were nicely prepared, efficient, and organized for us. They also had a photographer and provided a link with free photos, as well as a link to the PDF on their menu. Great experience!
Really good and tasteful food. The whole farm is wonderful. Only a bit too comercial and staff not so friendly.
Super experience, great food and great conversations. Our chef Best was super fun and helpfull. We recommend 100%
The place was in a sprawling property away from the city. It has its own mini vegetable garden where we picked our vegetables and even got to collect fresh eggs. There were a number of simultaneous cooking lessons happening in different cabanas. Our cooking station was complete with all the ingredients and our instructor, Tey, is very knowledgeable and her instruction very clear to understand. We were able to cook our Thai favorite dishes like Tom yun, Phad Tai, Green Curry, and finished off with sticky rice and mango. I must say that we are glad we took this leason and count it as a highlight to our Chiang Mai trip. I can’t wait to re create them back home. Highly reccomended! .
All I can say is what an amazing experience! If you can get Joyzaa and Natalie teaching your course, you are in for a treat. Both have great humour and are so so lovely and helpful. If I could give 10 stars I would. A must do experience!
Great experience! Well run. We visited with our kids ages 11, 9, 6. They had appropriate menu items and helped the kids cook. Highly recommended.
