Thank Lek for the professional guiding and patience with us and thank Kom for the caring and backing along the way. Views and services are all the best. Miss that ice watermelon already TT Hopefully we’ll meet again in another trailhead tour someday!

This was the best half-day trip (and our first 5-star review too) in Chiang Mai. They're the best provider we've booked with so far. We found the uphill parts hard, but still enjoyed the challenge and thought that it was all worth it for the joy of the downhill parts and the scenery. We also felt assured that the pick-up truck followed us and we could choose to rest if we wanted to. Because of the challenge with biking, we felt extra refreshed at the sticky waterfalls; it's a must-visit! They provided a complimentary drink (coffee/matcha/smoothie) before the trip, plenty of refreshing fruits, cold water, electrolytes, and even tissue and wet wipes throughout the trip. Our guide, Kom, also frequently took photos and videos while we biked and sent it just a few hours after the trip. The only thing that could be improved was the lunch; we didn't enjoy the food there. A few of the helmets also smelled a bit, but that didn't affect the overall experience.
Best experience! awesome ride through the jungle with knowledgable and experienced guides! They were so helpful and I learned so much throughout the ride! Snacks and lunch were delicious!
This was our second trip with Lek and Kung. They are great. The route was fantastic with wonderful scenery, appropriate amount of challenging hills, well thought out breaks and almost zero cars! Their local knowledge and attention to our safety and wellbeing were unparalleled. The two of them are great riders and also wonderful guides. They both took wonderful pictures of us during the ride which will provide memories into the future. We are planning to do another ride with them when we come back to Chiang Mai next year. I would highly recommend Trailhead to anyone who wants any level of outdoor activity.
We had a great time with our guides Lek, Kom & Chai. Our family (two kids 8 and 12) did the Sticky Waterall trek. It was challenging, with large uphills, but the guides warned us and gave our youngest a lift in the van through the hardest part. The single track through the rainforest, the red hills, and the bat cave were awesome. We also experienced heavy rains during the second half, which double the fun! If you like biking, this is definitely the best way to get to the sticky waterfall.
I highly recommend Trailhead! My husband and I did two phenomenal cycling tours with Trailhead. This is a very professional, well-run company with high-quality bikes and exceptional guides. We did the Fields of Gold tour and a week or so later the Sticky Waterfall Explorer tour. Our guide for both tours was named Com and he is very experienced and attentive. The first tour was easier than the second tour. The tours are not technically difficult and you are never riding in traffic- but you need to be physically fit for both tours and comfortable/confident on a bike for the Sticky Waterfall Explorer tour.
Had a fabulous day with Lek as our guide and Kip behind the wheel of the vehicle. Most of the terrain is easy to moderate with a few places you can walk the bike or ride in the truck. Lek was great at managing our experience, letting us know what to expect every step of the way. Kip took care of us with water and snacks along the way. Highly recommend for some great exercise and getting scenery. The sticky waterfall and delicious lunch were a nice treat at the end of the day.
We had a great day with Lek on the bikes. It was such a fun way to see more of Chiang Mai outside the city. The uphills i struggled with (not a frequent rider) but my partner who enjoys mountain biking loved it and felt it was a good level. Lek was great at sticking with me and there was the option to rest in the car, though there were regular breaks and snacks. The trail in the jungle was really fun and we even came across some monkeys in the trees. Finishing off at the waterfall was a great way to cool off. It was a great day, thank you!
We were picked up from our accommodation and taken to the TrailHead cafe to start our day. After a 40 minute drive to the start of the bike we started out in a national park with amazing views. There were a few kilometres of ups and downs to provide a bit of a challenge but plenty of stops with fresh fruit, snacks and cold drinks provided. Fun boat trip across the dam with the bikes to the jungle (take bug spray for this bit) and bat cave. Lots of exciting things to look at, glad I was biking fit to enjoy it all! I would definitely recommend this biking adventure, not to mention the sticky waterfalls which are great fun to climb up. We got a little bit wet doing this but no need for a change of clothes. Would recommend this activity for moderate fitness level but the truck is available to help out and drive you up the hills if required.
This was the highlight of our trip to Chiang Mai! Epic day biking through the beautiful countryside, riding across the river in a long-tail boat, biking through the forest and visiting a cave with bats! And finally, ending with the Sticky Waterfall cling and a delicious lunch! Highly recommended!
Experienced and friendly staff and guides. We had an epic experience biking through the countryside and forest, visiting the bat caves and the Sticky Waterfall! Awesome way to spend the day in Chiang Mai!
Excellent full day adventure! Mountain biking through the jungle was such a challenging but super fun experience! The trail riding was awesome. We stopped at a beautiful bat cave along the trail that people were free to explore if they wished. There was a lot more cycling than I realized, but there were a lot of breaks, plus refreshing fruit and mango sticky rice. When we finally arrived at the waterfalls, we were treated to ice cold fresh young coconut. Climbing the sticky waterfalls was so incredibly cool…it was so perfect that it didn’t even seem real. We literally climbed up the rocks through the falls! I hope they do whatever it takes to preserve this magical piece of Thailand’s natural beauty. On the way home we stopped for a delicious Thai meal before making our way back to Chiang Mai. Our guide Lek was so kind and helpful, and the whole team took such good care of us all day. We were exhausted and happy at the end of this amazing day!
We did the sticky waterfalls ride and it was brilliant! Definitely a big highlight of our trip. Lex and Kom were lovely. Some of the hills were quite tough but Lek kept our daughters motivated and guided them through it. The landscape was just beautiful and really varied. Loved cycling through the red sands! The bat cave was terrifying but great and then the girls loved the trip to the sticky waterfalls. Amazing photos too. Thanks so much. Highly recommend this!! A must-do activity in Chang Mai!
We had a great time on the Sticky Waterfall tour! Some of the uphill cycling bits are tough but rewarding! Kom and Vivi were great hosts and took lots of videos and pictures for us :)
I loved every part of this: the jungle, the red sands, the villages, the boat tide. And Sticky waterfall was a refreshing and fun way to end the tour. The guides looked after us with snacks and the option to get a lift when tired. I'd recommend this to anyone who enjoys the outside and likes a moderate challenge.
Fantastic mountain bike trip with Trail Head to Sticky Waterfalls. Very well organised from start to finish, high quality bikes and an amazing route including a boat ride across a reservoir, cycling through the jungle (visiting a bat cave) and ending at the waterfall for a refreshing swim. Kom And Chu were excellent hosts, really looked after us and took many fantastic videos and photos for us that were emailed to me. Highly recommend
Great family ride with professional guide and support. An easy ride for the family and inexperienced riders taking in some stunning scenery. Quality hardtail bikes provided. Khun Kom was a great guide and K. Lek followed all the way in the van providing drinks and snacks along the way and guns option to skip the toughest climbs if needed. Would highly recommend as a great activity in Chiang Mai.
Great ride to the sticky waterfall, one to remember. The guides were fantastic, they made the difference with patience and eye for detail of the flora and fauna around us. The ride was sometimes challenging for the youngest one, but we did it. They shot great photos along the way that were shared for free.
Great tour (a little bit more heavy than expected), good quality bikes and lovely tour guides! We got multiple snacks, drinks and a lunch which was all included. The guides were very helpful and considered.
My husband and I joined the MTB tour with Kom. It was one of the most amazing trip! We participated in March and it was really hot, but our guide, Kom and the driver, Tum was really thoughtful and caring. We loved the choice of the route. We also loved the atmosphere at the base/ cafe. Maybe we will participate in a bit cooler season next time. Over all, we highly recommend this tour! Thank you!
I was spending some time in Chiang Mai and came across Trailhead when I rented a city bike for a few days. I decided to try one of their mountain bike tours. It was run very professionally, with a safe, friendly, challenging and adventurous feel. All the staff at Trailhead were very helpful and friendly. you guys rock and thanks for making my stay in Chiang Mai even better. I am coming back for more coffee.
This tour is absolutely the highlight of the whole Thailand trip. The trip is so well organized, and the timing of snacks is just perfect, we have ice water, cold coconut, and watermelon. So thoughtful! I love riding in the jungle, it's just the right amount of challenge for a beginner mountain bike rider like me. The sticky waterfall at the end is like a reward, perfect for the summer weather.
Really well organised tour. Excellent quality mountain bikes - disc brakes, decent gearing, well maintained - guide was superb and so were the rest of the team. Ample snacks and drinks throughout and a yummy lunch to finish with. Will definitely look to use them again, do not miss out if you enjoy ACTIVE holiday experiences.
Great guide (Kom) and support staff and great route. A good day trip. Also at the shop everyone is very helpful and friendly. Very good vibe all around. Highly recommended 👍
Highlight of our trip to Chiang Mai. My kids 13 and 12 loved the adventure through the jungle. The tour guides were very helpful and knowledgeable. The mountain bikes were in great condition. Walking up the waterfall was amazing, great photo opportunities. Tasty lunch too. Highly recommend Trailhead
From impeccable organization to free morning coffee, this mountain bike tour exceeded expectations. The use of a comfortable air-conditioned van for the trip was a welcome departure from the norm, ensuring both comfort and safety. Throughout the tour, a sense of security prevailed, with the thoughtful option for participants to follow in the van if needed. A truly professional and enjoyable experience—highly recommended!
It was my first time on mountain bike and off-road cycling (I do mainly roadbike). Lek is very experienced and he knows that I only needed to get comfortable with the bike first. He knew to lower the saddle and to increase later for better power in cycling uphill. I loved that Lek also shared his experiences, what to look out for and his humour is definitely one way to kill off jitters! Thew who was the guide at the back, took care of me well - calling out for areas to turn off and look out for in the off road course. Both Lek and Thew are very patient and made my first time experience wonderful and less intimidating. Nope, I still will not do off-road bike when I return home 😅🫣
Great ride. Excellent bike (both my son and I were given a TREK, gears shifted properly and breaks were excellent as well) . Good mixed of dirt trail in forest and quaint roads. On top of the ride, I would also highlight the boat ride which makes the experience even better and the finish on the waterfall makes it really fun. Visit of a cave was also fun for the kids. Guides were super helpful and very gentle in ensuring everyone was following along. There is car following up with water and soda and fruits. So no need to stress about any of that.
We had the most fantastic time with Trailhead. They picked us up from their hotel and took us to their office for a safety briefing and a coffee (included in the price!). We had two vans following us for the bike ride (the passenger van and bike van) and the guides were fantastic. It was a really great ride (albeit quite exhausting!) and fantastic experience. There were lots of water and snack breaks too! Sticky waterfall is beautiful, and lunch was at a really delicious noodle restaurant. An absolute bargain! We'd definitely take a Trailhead tour again without hesitation.
We can’t say enough great things about this trip. The small group allowed us to connect with our guides and fellow travelers. Snacks and rest stops were perfectly timed and the guides gave just the right amount of support to ensure that everyone had a great experience. This was the best tour activity of our entire time in Thailand thanks to the care and attention to detail in planning the trip. Our guides were kind and generous- thank you!
We started off with a very enthusiastic pickup at the hotel. After a short drive we were at the shop where we got some coffee or refreshments and a briefing and introduction to the team. A half an hour drive to the starting point, getting our bike (very good quality bikes from TREK) and off we were... A very nice route, first on some local streets, then the boat ride and then the steep uphill... And steep is steep.. but if you don't manage to get to the top, no worries, a truck is following and you can always ask them to take you and the bike a little further uphill... A flat tire from a group member was quickly fixed by the guides, and off we went again.. off-road this time, a little bit muddy but what is off-road without some mud? Very nice trail to the bat cave, a little stop in the forest for some edible mushroom picking and the ride continued... Very often you get a break, water and other refreshments at your disposal. From time to time a healthy yet delicious snack to get back some of the used energy.. At the end of the ride you get to the waterfall, lovely place! During your visit the staff prepares a good pad thai and some chicken, or veggy if you want. We also got the mushrooms we picked earlier. Delicious! This activity is worth a 5/5 rating! Very friendly helpful staff, you get a load of pictures and videos of yourself mailed to you as a souvenir the day after the activity. Great experience, would recommend it to everyone who likes a little adventure and some healthy sweating 🥵😊
The bicycle route was excellent, with great views and not much car/moped traffic. The stops were well timed (arriving at the waterfall at the end is a treat and much needed along with a cold coconut after the sweaty half day of biking). If you get tired or want to skip some of the hills you can go in the van. My only suggestion is to add bottle cages on the bikes so we can easily carry our own water and drink when we want.
We booked a trip to the Sticky Waterfall. It was an amazing experience! Our guide Tom did an excellent job to guide us through different kind of terrains. We would 100% recommend this trip!
Our family of three had the pleasure of spending a day with Trailhead, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. Their professionalism and sense of humor greatly enhanced our day, making it all the more memorable. Their companionship was truly appreciated, and the professional pictures they took for us along the way were fantastic. We have cherished and saved every single one of them. What made our experience with them even more special was the personal touch they added to our day. They not only facilitated our cycling adventure but also made us feel like we were part of their club. Their commitment to providing a memorable experience was evident in their attentiveness and care.
We had a great day, thank Kom and colleague (sorry, didn't remember his name!). Would definitely recommend it as long as you have a bit of endurance....
We enjoyed our whole day with trailhead. The organisation was great, the service awsome, the trip very nice, beautiful and interesting thanks to all the explications from ViVi and Kom the powerfull guide. Our kids (13 and 14) loved this adventure day - the best day in their holidays as they said in the evening. Thanks for everything. Michaela & Philippe
Extremely experienced and kind guide named Kom. Perfect for all fitness levels as those unable to take the long ride are able to ride along on a car. Very thoughtful and generous as they prepared Thai snacks and drinks to enjoy during the breaks on the trail. We managed to see many interesting sites and have a good time. Highly recommend choosing this option.
The trip was very well organised and run. Kom and Vivi looked after us very well and ensured there was plenty of fruit, water, coke, sticky rice and fantastic food available. Kom is a machine and I suspect he did not break a sweat the whole trip, however he paced things well for the slowest member of the team - me!! It was really hot and toward the end I was struggling so jumped in the support car with Vivi. Great to have that available. The sticky waterfalls were way better than I thought they would be and so refreshing!! If you have some fitness I would recommend this trip
Sticky waterfall is amazing. And the roast chicken is quite delicious 😋 Thank a lot to Vivi and Kom for the trip arrangement.
Our incredible tour was tailored to suit our family and it was perfect! Our children (5 & 9) are confident riders but the distance originally planned would have been too far so Trailheads drove some of it,boated some of it and then we rode the best 5 miles. They took us to Caves, taught us so much, stopped to show us interesting wildlife, fed us so incredibly well, led us to the Sticky Waterfalls to cool down and then topped it all off by being our photographers for the day. They made booking so easy, adapted so much to suit us and even fed us a cold drink at the shop before we left for the tour. Our guides were amazing with the children, thoughtful and so knowledgeable. Cannot recommend this company enough for families looking for a little thrill seeking away from the city.
Absolutely one of the best organized tours we took in Thailand! VV, Kom, Ben, and Fa were an exceptional crew. We felt completely supported with guides at the front and back of the group, plus a trailer that met us for water and healthy snacks. Bags can be stored in the car during the ride. Beautifully documented by photo and video the whole way by the crew. The ride is best done with a good fitness level and some biking experience—but novices we’re well supported. Ending at the waterfalls was a real treat after a day of riding!! Bring swim suits 😊
Great, long, day out. Kom, our guide, was terrific and inspired confidence. The journey had a good mix of exercise (sometimes strenuous) and breaks (for snacks, views, cave etc). If you have a desk job, but are embarrassed to get into the van when tired - be ready for some sore muscles... but all worth it! The variety of jungle trail, rough roads and beautifully paved rural roads made for a great mix. Scenery amazing, camaraderie terrific and sticky waterfall a super fun end point - all added up to a great day. Thanks Trailhead!
Participated in the sticky waterfall cycling on 23/12/22 There were 6 of us (4 from same family) so there were 3 cycling guides, photographer and driver. Very friendly and professional staff in teaching the family on operating the bikes and covering us (since we move different speed). Cycling route is a mix of trail and paved road with some climbs (esp one section after the reservoir), there is a option to get up the vehicle and i continued with the other 2 guides. Would recommend for those who wants a good MTB ride while in Chiang Mai Thanks to Kom, VV, lungchai, fern and the driver.
The waterfalls are really sticky ! The kids really enjoyed to climb them after a great cycling experience. It was not too difficult but enough to feel the effort. Akhom and Bon (the tour Guides) have been very nice and patient with us ; we are very happy to have all the pictures and videos taken by them during the tour. Thank U
Really wonderful ride! Lek is amazing on the bike and guided us well throughout the ride. Lots of good direction and riding tips on the hills and rougher terrain. Their driver, Vivi, was also wonderful and followed along in the support vehicle. She was very friendly and provided us with a lot snacks and encouragement. There were well timed rest breaks and the boat ride was nice. The waterfall and lunch afterwards was amazing! Do bring a change of clothes and slippers for after the ride and waterfall. Would highly recommend!
It was a great experience for us, we saw the great nature of Thailand! The tourguides were very good, for both the mental and the physical support (drinks and foods during the tour).
This is our 2nd tour with Trailhead Thailand in Chiang Mai, and it was yet another enjoyable and memorable experience! We cycled on dirt tracks & undulating slopes, scaled a summit, and even took a boat ride across a lake. Every scenery we passed by was simply breathtaking. A big thank you to our guides from Trailhead Thailand, Lek & Dan, who were very professional & patient. The photos they took for us were also beautiful & artistically taken. In my opinion, some of the photos are competition worthy!
Such a great day enjoying the scenery while getting exercise. It was a challenge for our kids who are good riders but the team was so encouraging. Our 7 year old wanted to keep up with Lek and rode most of the 30km. The truck was always available if they needed it. We loved the boat ride also and cooling off in the waterfall. Our daughter loved looking for mushrooms with Vivi. Fantastic day!
Lovely hosts - thank you Kom and VV! Really like the cycling route (despite the uphill cycling.. Kom was very encouraging throughout the journey and he even made multiple stops to get photos of us). Highly recommend this to anyone looking for an adventure in Chiang Mai :)
We had a fantastic day doing the Sticky Waterfall cycling tour! 💜 Lek and Vivi were excellent guides and hosts, giving tips on riding and plenty of yummy snacks to fuel us throughout the day. Lek cycled with us whilst Vivi followed in the car so that you could hop in for a rest if any of the hills were too challenging. We visited a bat cave and the sticky waterfall which was really beautiful and Lek and Vivi send you some really professional photos the next day which is a really nice touch. 100% recommend this tour and company and would ride with them again 😊
