J is a very knowledgeable guide. We visited a family restaurant and 2 non-touristy night markets and sampled some interesting local fare. He encouraged our participation in a fun and educational way. Definitely recommend.

Our guide Mr Goal was first class, very welcoming, engaging with the entire group. Our group was 5 (max 8) we were collected from our hotel and taken to a locals market, (we were the only tourists) 😎a great combination of casual restaurants, market snacks and street food experience. A tasty mix of family style northern Thai dishes to share along with delicious road side snacks I wouldn’t have thought about trying! If this is the only tour you are thinking about in Chiang Mai, DO IT! Skip lunch and come hungry!🤤
Mister Jay was superb! He took great care of our group, catered to our preferences, taught us to order and communicate with the food vendors in Thai and really boosted our confidence. He gave us great tips and local insights and was funny and personable. He lamented his English wasn't better, but it was excellent. Would highly recommend.
Definitely come hungry. You get to sample so many foods. We went to 2 sit down restaurants and sampled many street foods. Our Tour Guide was Mr. Goal. He explained about the different regions of Thai cusine and there influences. I wouldn't miss this tour. You won't regret it. Thank you for a wonderful evening Mr. Goal.
This was a great experience! Local favorites that you wouldn't get just exploring the area on your own. A bit of history on the foods of the region and an excellent variety and quantity of foods to eat. Our host Mr. Goal was absolutely amazing!!
There is so much food... pace yourself! :). Goal was a great guide and even took lots of action photos to share. Food was outstanding.
Goal was a fantastic guide, so knowledgeable. The food was plentiful and delicious! Highly recommend this tour if you are coming to Chiang Mai A++
Mr. Goal’s food tour was fantastic! Everything we tried was absolutely delicious, and we got to experience so many different flavors and local dishes. Mr. Goal was fun, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience even better. I am SO stuffed—in the best possible way! Come hungry and be ready to eat. Highly recommend!
Such a great time! Incredible food, incredible wine, and a fantastic host. The best way to kick off a solo trip to meet new friends and learn the city while having fun.
Hotel pickup and drop off was a bonus, Jay arrived on time and we travelled in air conditioned comfort with two fellow travellers. First stop was in the ‘university district’ not often frequented by tourists, we had four dishes in a local rahn ahhran, then sampled another four dishes at a street vendor across the road. Then travelled to another street market where we sampled four more dishes including the famous slow cooked soy pork, followed by a selection of desserts. We were also offered to sample dishes that we walked past. You will not go hungry, even got the opportunity to order a dish in Thai and some takeaway treats for the next day. Jay complemented the food journey with interesting information about Chiang Mai and Thailand. Highly recommend this tour and it was great value for money
Mr Goal is an excellent guide. He is very knowledgeable of Thailand and he knows EVERYONE and everyone loves him, this added to the experience. The price was right with all we ate. I plan on taking more tours during my visit which ends Friday.
This Thai food tour was designed to allow and develop a better appreciation of the differences of Thai regional cuisine. What we know as “Thai” food abroad is a curated version of the Central cuisine Thailand (centered in Bankok). NE, NW and S Thailand has its own kind of cuisine, nuanced based on the abundantly available ingredients based on geography, the cuisine.& fllavors from the neighboring countires/kingdoms, and so on. Our guide, Mr. Goal (easier to pronounce than his full Thai name, because he was a soccer goalkeeper at the Don Bosco school where he studied) is a true ambassador of Thai culture and food. He not only introduced us to the great variety of Thai food, but also made sure we had our fill. Thanks Mr. Goal!
Our guide Mr Goal was hilarious and very helpful. I'm not sure if he was trying to make us explode with the amount of food he gave us. But it was all amazing so it was worth it! I even learned how to say not spicy in Thai! 10/10 I would do this again!
Lots of yummy food, so please go hungry and pace your eating! Our guide, Mr Goal, had lots of interesting info to share. He was friendly and professional. Definitely a great tour to get an authentic taste of Northern Thai food.
Would highly recommend. The quality & amount of food was exceptional. We couldn't even eat it all. We didn't even stop at the last tasting as we were all at bursting point!! Great way to visit street food off the beaten track. Would definitely seek out this street food again if I return to Chang Mai.
Our guide, Mr Goal was excellent. Very knowledgeable and informative and fun to hang out with. We started out at a restaurant and had a meal then we were driven to a market to try various local food
Can I give this tour more than 5 stars, please??!! Mr. Jay was a fantastic guide. He’s very knowledgeable about Chiang Mai and he seemed to know everyone in the markets. I lost track of how many dishes we tried and how many places we visited. Every time I thought we were done, he took us to one more place! All of the foods were delicious and he taught us how to order in Thai so we could have our own adventures later. I would recommend this tour to anyone who likes to try lots of different foods. Thanks for a fun night, Jay!!!
Jay led an awesome tour for us! Soo much incredible authentic food! It was crazy how much food we had- we both couldn’t even eat it all. But everything was delicious. And Jay was very knowledgeable about the cuisine and Thai culture. He even taught us how to order in Thai!
A fabulous night. Tip: There was a LOT of food, 3-4 main stops plus little bits along the way, so just try a little bit of everything even if it’s delicious! Kids loved it too.
Picked up on time but frustrated that we were the only participants, so missing out on the Songthaew ride and the social aspect of the tour, we would’ve cancelled if we’d known this and feel we should’ve been given the option. Guide was knowledgeable and friendly, the tour started ok in a small restaurant but was soon moved onwards to the night market near the university, which then started a relentless tasting of savoury & sweet foods plus various drinks, all the time having to juggle bags of food, drinks and our rubbish whilst trying to walk through large crowds, it felt too hectic, rushed and intimidating. The large amount of food in a short period of time left us feeling incredibly full and nauseous with the pressured expectation of visiting another night market! We refused and asked to be dropped back at our hotel after 90 mins. For us more isn’t necessarily better and would look for a relaxed tour as opposed to this, if you have the stomach capacity then go for it, if you want more sophistication then go elsewhere.
My family did the night food tour with Goal as our guide. We had a fantastic time and would highly recommend this tour to others. Goal took us to three main locations (with a few quick side stops) that let us explore food from different regions in Thailand. This allowed us to try SO many different foods. By the time we were finished, we practically had to roll home. The pick up/drop off was seamless and we got to ride in the back of a covered truck (it was fun!!). Goal provided us with a ton of information about ingredients used and food that was typically seen in each region - we learned a lot! This is not something we would have done by ourselves, so it was perfect to get a taste of night life and street markets in Chiang Mai.
Pick up is in a red taxi truck end to end. All of the choices were sensational. Stunning flavours and non-spicy to mild to spicy mix. Great to do on our first night as it introduced us to a lot of dishes we wouldn’t have known to try. We went back the next night near the north gate. It’s a LOT of food in 3 hours. Struggled to eat it at the end. Our guide also does other tours he can organise for you, so just ask.
A really good evening with a wide variety of delicious food and nice company. Interesting as well as tasty.
We enjoyed our time with Goal. Too much food and only one small night visited. Value for money poor.
Great street food tour! Knowledgeable and fun guide + great food! What more could you want? Book it! You won't regret it!
Great way to spend an evening in Chiang Mai! Eat so much wonderful food and the guide was great! 10/10
Lovely guided tour of the various food markets showing the different food styles from each region of Thailand.
So much good food! I loved every dish and we thought the tour guide was joking when he took us to 2 more places! Just enough food to taste but more than enough for us!
Great tour highly recommend. Amazing food and the guide was interesting and very knowledgeable
Jay did an amazing job explaining the super delicious (and plentiful!!) food we had, and really gave us a local experience at night markets I definitely couldn’t have done on my own. Extremely happy with the experience!
We did this evening street food tasting experience with Jay and it was phenomenal. We were two of five total travelers, along with our guide, so was easy to travel with and eat together. We had such a variety of eats, learned to order in Thai, and learned lots about the different types of food. It was a very exciting atmosphere and we enjoyed the tour and the food! Thank you to Jay, he was an amazing guide!
This was the perfectly sized food tour! Mr. Goal is an enthusiastic and knowledgeable guide. He explained the different regions of where certain dishes originated. We had a wide variety of delicious dishes and ended on a sweet note. My wife and I both left the tour very full and happy! Mr. Goal was very communicative about timeline + meeting point as well. We would come back and do this tour again :)
You will go places and eat food you wouldn’t go to if just wandering around. Great host and knowledge.
JK is an excellent guide for this tour. We sampled so many items at so many places that all of us could not eat another bite even though we wanted to keep going. I happened to mention to JK that I'm interested in seeing Muay Thai while in Thailand. He volunteered to accompany me to the stadium immediately after our tour, sat through all the fights with me and even arranged to have my pictures taken with the fighters. What an evening. What a great guide!
Had an absolute amazing time trying so many different dishes!! Goal was a wonderful guide and so knowledgeable about the food.
Amazing experience, we got to try so many places we would’ve never found on our own, highly recommend!
Mr Goal was brilliant. He created a fun atmosphere at all the food stops. Yep the food choices were incredably tasty and he knows everything about food and Chiang Mai. I really had a great night and I was with good company as well. Must do this foodie tour with Mr Goal.
It was good way to supple different foods to learn what actually liked and you buy later on your trip. Tour guide was great!
This is a fun way to see multiple markets of street food and learn about the different types of food. It gives you more confidence to explore street food. Mr Goal is a great guide who wants you to have a good time. Come hungry as you will sample about 15-20 different things!!
Mr. Jay was a fantastic guide, and the food was sensational! Very wide selection of dishes, nobody left hungry.
Great street food tour. Lots of variety. Would highly recommend . Our guide and tuk tuk driver were excellent!
I took 3 street food tours while in Asia and this was my favorite! Jay our guide was fantastic and I LOVED the food. Highly recommend. Even tasted food featured in Anthony Bourdain's show.
This experience was absolutely perfect for our first day in Thailand, but even if we had been here a week I still learned more from this tour than I ever would have on my own. Amazing food, host, and group made for an incredible time! Thank you, Jay!
I loved this tour! I got to try so many new things and experience the markets thoroughly. Mr. Goal was a great guide — I appreciated the packet we received with an overview of Thai food and eating etiquette. Highly recommend this tour. You really get a taste of everything!
We had such good fun on this tour and tried food we would never have tried and tasted on our own. Also we were in places all over the city which only a local would know and have the ability to take us to. I’m quite fussy and didn’t think I’d eat much but I did! We were in a group of 6 but got on well with the other couples despite them being quite a lot younger than us but that made it fun! An experience we’ll never forget.
The tour guide takes to to experience different taste of Thai food. He accomodates the tourist request in terms of the level of spiciness. For a first time tourist visiting Chiang Mai it is a must on the bucket list.
We like to do a food tour when travelling and this was one of the best A fabulous, memorable evening led by Jay who was caring, knowledgeable and fun The tour flowed effortlessly as we sampled food in 3 different markets and by the end of the evening were completely full of many different foods from different regions of Thailand. A great group of five from three countries who bonded quickly The tour has given me more confidence to eat in the markets encouraged by brilliant Jay. I really recommend this tour. Communication before hand was faultless We missed out on the whiskey as it was election night and the sale of all alcohol was banned
This was a fantastic evening fully worth the price that included a worry free pick up in a very nice suv from our hotel. We were a small group of 5 and immediately clicked. Our tour guide Jay was efficient, funny, and took care of all our needs from finding tables, water, cutlery, napkins, he was on it. He always explained the ingredients and taught us how to order dishes in Thai...which we had to put in practice at one of the food stands. The food: so much variety and plenty of it. We were all very full by the time dessert round came. There must have been 12 dishes and 6 different desserts ..we had to take some home. I would recommend this hands down. Took away the hassle of knowing where to go, transportation/parking, seating...and also no waiting in line. Thanks Jay!!
Great tour with a ton of food. I really enjoyed the tour as we went so many places. I wouldn't have found these on my own. The tour was in a minivan so we were able to cover multiple areas. Highly recommend this tour!
We decided on this tour as we only had a few days in Chiang Mai and were so glad we did . There were 5 in our group and our guide Jay collected us and drove us to the night street food markets. We visited several locations . All were scrupulously clean , offering a wide variety of local dishes.Jay came well prepared with a folder of information for each participant giving detailed info on the ingredients in many traditional Malaysian dishes . A highlight was when he encouraged us to order a dish for ourselves , supplying the relevant vocabulary . The food was tasty and varied . Jay advised on dishes for anyone who prefers less spice . We finished by drinking to each others’ health with a shot glass of Malaysian whisky . Jay is excellent company and he quickly got tour group , from different countries , to bind together . Take this tour - you won’t regret it !
