Driver spoke NO english. We wanted to cut our tour short. Asked if we could go to shopping and back to hotel. Said yes and dove us very far to shopping where they GREATLY OVERCHARGED for what we bought.

Itinerary
The tour starts with an exploration of the canal that surrounds the Old City and stops at the historical gates of Chiang Mai and Tha Phae Gate which once protected the ancient city from foreign invaders centuries ago.
For your next stop, your tuk tuk ride will take you inside the Old City where temples and other historic sites reside. Make your stop at Wat Chedi Luang, the 'Temple of Big Stupa'. Constructed between the 14th and 15th century, this temple was the home of the famous Emerald Buddha which can now be found in the Grand Palace of Bangkok.
The Three Kings Monument Square in Chiang Mai Thailand is a large open square in the heart of the walled Old Town. The statue portrays the three founders of Chiang Mai, King Mengrai, King Ramkhamhaeng and King Ngam Muang. King Mengrai ruled Lanna, King Ngam Muang was ruler of Phayao and King Ramkhamhaeng was King of Sukhothai Kingdom, purported founding fathers of Chiang Mai.
Or better known as the 'Silver Temple'. Made from alloy and zinc silver, the Wat Sri Suphan shines the brightest in the afternoon. Inside, you'll see modern silversmiths at work, all using techniques handed down by their ancestors.
The most beautiful architecture in the northern style is reflected in the chapel.
For your last stop, check out the Muang Mai Market or Warorot Market, where the local Sunday Market and Night Bazaar are located. Find the cheapest items in the city here and see products of all kinds; fruit, vegetables, souvenirs, seafood, jewelry, beauty supplies, a large flower market, and a whole lot more!

The driver she was very nice and helpful
Not blaming anyone but myself, I didn't realise it didn't come with a tour guide until after I had already paid (it was last minute so couldn't cancel). My driver was lovely but being dropped at sites without the history and background made it rather boring. Only book if you don't need the additional information (I used chat to explain the history to me which helped).
Oy was my tuk tuk driver. Took me to many temples. Lovely to get back to old city after many years. Crowds low cause low season which made it nicer.
We expected a guided tour, but it turned out that we had only rented a driver. Her English wasn’t good either, which made communication difficult,
The driver was great! Very personable and knowledgeable about Chiang Mai, provided water and food options at the market we visited. Had a blast traveling around this beautiful city with her!
Whilst there was no ‘guide’ our drivers were the guides. They tailored the trip to what we asked for- local market lunch, a couple of temples and some shopping. They were super knowledgeable. The tuk tuk experience is a must
Our experience was amazing. We enjoyed our Tuk tuk ride while exploring wonderful places in Chiang Mai, especially the temples. Would highly recommend the experience.
It was quite a dismal experience. I only realised after the activity that the ticket/ booking only included the driver of the tuk tuk and not a guide. It would have been nice to have an informative guide and I used chatGPT to teach me about the temples I was seeing. The driver also didn't inform me that the 3 King's Monument was closed. I had to ask to be taken to the market which was on the itinerary. I was dropped off at my hotel an hour before the stipulated tour ending time. Quite disappointing as most of what I saw could be arrived at on foot.
We just booked the temple tour no guide and it was spot on. Good way to see around town and a few temples at our own pace. For $45 it was well worth it. He even stopped at pharmacy and supermarket for us too. Very accommodating
We had an amazing experience with Non as our guide. He was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and made the visit truly memorable. Watching the sunrise at Wat Phra That Doi Suthep was absolutely breathtaking and definitely a must-do in Chiang Mai. What made it even more special was Non’s thoughtful explanations of Buddhism—he brought so much meaning and context to everything we saw. Highly recommended!”
Great tour, highly recommend. Traveled the complete old city wall with moats. Great explanations at all stops.
driver is not interested by what he does
Our driver was Dio and he was so awesome. He shared the history of the sites we visited, gave us flexibility to choose where we wanted to go, and even picked out an amazing restaurant for lunch. He was amazing! We also got picked up and dropped off to our villa. It was way more than I ever expected. We made some great memories. :) Be sure to generously tip your driver. Don't be the dude that gives Americans a bad name.
Was super fun and the drivers were very flexible so we feel we got to see a lot and in the most fun way!
Great way to explore Chiang mai’s old city. Even had a tour of the silk factory which was impressive! The lunch spot was amazing with the best khow soi! Only down side was that the ‘craft’ tours included a home store which was very pushy for sales - I like to browse round a shop and I’m very put off when people are push or escorting you round
It was vey good. I definitely recommend the jewellery store. The driver spoke little english, but everywhere we went was amazing.
Arrived on time. Helpful in offering options for the city tour
I had a wonderful tour and the driver was very friendly as well. He said if I want to go somewhere else we can go and he will wait for me. 👍
Our half-day tuk-tuk tour in Chiang Mai was fantastic! The driver spoke good English & shared brief local history while we zipped around the old city in a colorful tuk-tuk—such a thrilling, breezy ride through vibrant streets! We visited stunning temples like Wat Chedi Luang, explored a lively market, and discovered hidden spots at a perfect pace. Hotel pickup/drop-off was seamless, the driver was safe and professional, and it felt authentic and fun. Great value—highly recommend for an unforgettable introduction to Chiang Mai!
Great way to get between the sights in the heat of the city. Driver good and on time with hotel pick up and drop off.
We enjoyed our Private Chiang Mai Old City Half Day Tuk Tuk Tour. Our driver Son was very pleasant and spoke enough English to give us information about the historical city of Chiang Mai. He drove us to three different temples and at our request, took us to a restaurant of his choice. We recommend this tour.
Great way to get a feel for the old city. Visiting temples and zipping in and out of the traffic. The driver spoke a little english, enough to get by. Definitely a trip to take if it's your first time in Chaing Mai.
Certainly not a 1/2 day tour - it was closer to 2 hours long. Went to a couple of nice temples. A taxi would have been better.
Prompt collection from our hotel and a flexible approach by our driver made this relaxing way to explore the city. Driver was friendly and, despite limited English (but still better than our non-existent command of Thai language), was able to show us around the bits we wanted to see. He also demonstrated a good standard of driving, and we always felt safe in his vehicle.
Our driver Wat was early for pick up and gave us a wonderful 4 hours, stopping where we asked and delivering us when finished to our destination.
Our tuk tuk tour of Chiang Mai was one of the highlights of our two weeks in Thailand. We were taken to magnificent temples and interesting places only a local would know of by a friendly driver who was patient to go at our own pace. He also took us to a fabulous restaurant for lunch in a glorious setting. Our four hour tour was extended as we requested, and this day will be in our memories for a very long time. Highly recommend this great value tour!
A great way to start our exploration of Chiang Mai and surroundings. A must visit to the main three temples in the old city. Our guide Vasit was very knowledgeable and friendly. Would definitely recommend.
First 1.5 hours were spent visiting “Thai handicraft” stores east of the city (silk factory, jade factory, silver, housewares). This was not part of the expected or paid for “experience”. Clearly a blatant attempt to encourage the purchase of products of dubious ”Thai artisan” origin. Time spent wasted at stores resulted in arriving at “Silver Temple” (Wat Sri Suphan) 15 minutes before evening closure - insufficient time to explore the grounds and temple. The subsequent stop at Wat Chedi Luang was enjoyable, but guide provided no explanation here or at any other stop beyond a cursory indication of the site name and general significance. On a positive note, the tour provided a quick view of several areas of the city that looked promising for future exploration. The Tuk Tuk was clean and the driver was very pleasant. I do not recommend this tour for anyone looking to gain any historical knowledge of key sites or value for money.
This is a great way to see a lot in Old Town without having to walk all over the place. While our driver had limited English speaking skills, we appreciated his effort and we were able to tailor the trip to our desire.
Our driver spoke good English & took us round 3 temples & then a tour round old town. We then went into another area of the city & to a restaurant near the river. Had a nice meal, it was optional. We saw quite alot of the city.
Very enjoyable the guild was early to pick us up and spoke very good English with good information about the area. The trip was around chiang mai & its temples, we also visited the main gate into the walled area. I enjoyed the trip the only downside was the outlets we were taken too although very interesting especially the silk factory. Sales people followed you around and there was an aspect of the hard sell. We were taken too silver factory, a wood carving factory, jade factory & jewellery factory every factory sales staff followed you around trying to get you to buy stuff.
I’ve been having back problems so wasn’t looking forward to a lot of walking between the temples and other attractions of Chiang Mai, and trying to decide what to see on our first day. So getting our own tuk tuk was just perfect. Having your own transport that took you directly to where we wanted to go and waited at each location was excellent. Our driver, Kit (?). Was fantastic, very accommodating and suggested alternatives if parts of the ‘standard’ tour didn’t interest us that much. The temples were amazing and so much more enjoyable to see them with your own transport. Highly Recommend
The original driver never showed up. The tour started 40 minutes late with a replacement driver. He was very polite, could speak enough English and expertly drove me through this wonderful city. I loved the tour except for the extra initial wait.
Our driver was great. He was on time and drove us to various spots. We also had our own requests which he accommodated. My only issue was with the air quality in the city. If you have asthma or lung issues you might want to skip the tuktuk and take a taxi with air conditioning instead.
The first half was really good, seeing the sights around Chiang Mai. However, the second half was not so good. We had lunch and then went miles out of town to tourist trap shops selling stuff. We could certainly have skipped that bit. Ask your driver to skip the sales pitch and tourist shops out of town if thats not your thing.
They never picked us up. Be aware, the site will set your hotel as pick up point but will not show. They will want you to meet them somewhere else last minute, very deceiving
The tuk tuk arrived at our hotel on time. The driver did not speak English . There was no 'tour' as it states . He had a plastic card that he pointed at to see where we wanted to go. We ended up going where we didn't want to go because he did not understand English. At one point we hopped out of the Tuk Tuk for about 10 minutes and returned to him sleeping . We had to physically wake him up . Don't bother with this .
We booked 3 tuk tuk for a group tour. Had a great day. Didn't feel rushed looking around temples. When we said we were getting hungry they took us to a lovely restaurant. Thanks guys
Travelers must pay their own minimal interest fee at all the watts. We had three tuk tuks, between the three Drivers there was enough English for us to get by and have a great time..
Fun tour around temples and shopping. The driver only gave brief information about the temples and so good to read up before you go
We booked this 4 hour tour which the driver told us we had had our full time after 2.5 hours. We asked to be taken for some shopping. We were very specific. However we were only taken to showrooms that were expensive for tourists on buses and coaches. Not local shopping. We also saw a temple which we enjoyed and went to a market but we wanted to stay longer but were told we couldn’t. Not the best.
I highly recommend this tour. The tuktuk driver was nice and easy to deal with. He drove us safe to temples and places and even give us tips on where to score for great deals for souvenirs.
Very good value done at a leisurely pace & very educational & interesting.Collected from the hotel at a reasonable time
We enjoyed our tour! There was some much to see. Chiang Mai is an amazing city and Tuk Tuk is the perfect way to see it! Our guide was flexible and adjusted our tour to fit our interests
The driver was great (safe driver) and he provided a lot of history of the city and the temples. The admission fee to the temples were reasonable, not super crowded and overall pleasant. What I did not like was the shopping tour. The driver kept taking me to severely overpriced stores. When I asked about taking me to places like the markets that were reasonably priced, he did not provide a response. The tour lasted about 2 hours after I declined to continue going to the overpriced stores and I requested to go back to my hotel.
Great way to get around Chiang Mai and our driver Diem was so kind and helpful- took us all over the place- loved it! Definitely recommend
My Tuk Tuk tour was everything I hoped for. My driver took me to see all the temples I wanted to see!
Driver was a lovely older fellow. He showed us ahead of time on a card which temples we would visit, and remembered my special request about not visiting the tourist trap silk and silver factory. We hopped around to a few temples and markets. When dropping us off at a location, he showed us where we would find him.
My driver was amazing. He kept the drive safe. He took me to the most beautiful temples and let me take my time, even took my pictures. He let me experience Chiang Mai street food as I requested. I asked before the tour started if he can take me to Starbucks for a much needed coffee and he went out of his way to get me there. Thank you for a great experience.
