A really good day out the guides were very helpful and able. The track was good for me but fairly difficult for beginners ok if you take it steady. The lunch was nice by the lake. All safety clothing supplied was in good condition as were the bikes would recommend. Only complaint no chance to see the video taken on the way down.

Had a great time!!! Im a beginner mountain biker and the ride was the perfect amount of challenging and fun! The guide was great and made sure we all had a really fun and positive experience
After booking I was immediately informed by the owner (Adon) that there will be a slight change to the route which was accepted. I was picked from my hotel by A (tour guide)and Rin (driver)really cool and welcoming guys. Cycling with A was amazing, it was cycling with a mate, we had so much fun and laughter that it didn’t seem like a tour. A’s friendly demeanour, character and knowledge are simply priceless. Overall, I’m glad I booked Chiang mai mountain biking and kayaking. Highly recommended!
This was a fun day if you can ride a mountain bike on gravel trails. It's mostly downhill except for one 400m significant uphill. Bike is good and safety gear was adequate. Lunch good, bring your own electrolyte drink and snacks for energy.
The guides are really friendly and professional. Spoke English well. The bikes are hard tales and the run is not smooth at all so your body acts as the shocks instead of the bike. I’m an experienced mountain biker and I would say it’s likely an easy run for Thailand but it will be most enjoyable if you have a little experience. If you have your own helmet use it, theirs are a little shady. It’s steep terrain with switch backs and a little uphill/flat. My watch clocked it at about 15kms. I got a little woozy going up in the truck. But over all it’s a super fun run and worth it. Beautiful views along the way.
Guides were great, bikes were good but owner doesn't maintain the safety gear, the velcro on knee pads was worn away, came lose often - when trying to adjust I crashed (I should have stopped but I was already trailing the group), trip to the hospital was the safest part of the adventure, do not recommend.
This is anything but a beginner run. Going to the top of the hill the guide said we would do pavement going down hill but after 100 meters it turned into dirt ruts covered in slippery leaves and very steep. I’ve ridden lots of trails and this is a 4 out of 5.
Like you I performed my due diligence and assessed the various reviews of this business. Let me be categorical, the post claiming inferior bikes and poor staff is pure, adulterated rubbish. Our bikes were new and certainly not purchase at Walmart. I walked through the storage area on my way to the bathroom and saw no bikes that were of the quality claimed by some moron. Likewise, the safety equipment provided was in good condition. As far as the staff, we found everyone from the owner to our guide to be professional and attentive. The transportation was punctual and without incedent. The tour itself was a blast. The hike up the mountain was an enjoyable ealk and hardly challenging. It was our first time mountain biking and while I found it thrilling my wife found the bike down the mountain challenging. We are 64 and 63 respectively and above average physical condition so the physical exsurtion of the trekking up and the biking down the mountain were not a problem. As pure novices to mountain biking the challenge was navigating the rough terrain while going downhill. We both made it without incident. We highly recommend taking in this activity, it is well worth your time.
Make sure you confirm where you going and what is in store. We spent over 1.5 hours at Hmong village that seemed really excessive, we were all bored. Additionally, going down hill on a paved winding road with scooters, tuk tusk and cars is not mountain biking. Rather just get a scooter if we were not going to trail ride. Buyer beware.
Perfect beginner downhill bike from the national park. The crew was very experienced and gave good recommendations and made sure that safety was the main priority. At the end, there was an excellent Thai lunch at the lake. Highly recommended.
We booked route #1 (the 'Eagles route') which is advertised as being suitable for beginners. I was somewhat surprised when in the briefing the manager asked if we had done mountain biking before ( we had) and described it as 'quite difficult'. It did not seem suitable for beginners given how steep and rocky it was. The large covering of very dry leaves over hard ground made matters a lot worse. Even when applying the brakes it just carried on skidding down.Several of our group fell off, 1 with quite a serious injury. One lady just go off her bike and walked it down. Even the group doing the more advanced trails described the dry leaves as a big problem and quite dangerous. I guess it depends on the time of the year but i ended up feeling misled about what i had booked. Not exactly fun....I ended up cuts and bruises which impacted the quality of the rest of my holiday. Also, the guide's English was not the best. I had hoped to learn a lot more about the plants in the jungle or the Hmong people for example.Oh well....
The expereince was fun and quite adventurious but the only reason I am giving this 4 out of 5 stars is this was definitely not beginner. The trail we went down was quite tough and at times dangerous. The trail had been trenched out due to rian and cars so with any rain the trail was slippery. Definitely not for someone who hasn't ridden a bike on anything besides the road. Nonetheless, the guides were great an patient with everyone. I had a blast and was sore for a few days after. The scenery was incredible and the lunch at the end with a beer was just the way to end off a tough day.
Ok, so first off I can’t review any of their regularly scheduled tours cause the Royal Princess was in the park the day we rode. That meant that we were not allowed on the trails we should have gone on. The guides adjusted! It did mean that the entire group (beginners and all) did the same ride. We ended up on a longer ride, more uphill but of course you always have to come down. The trail hadn’t been used in a while and some spots were washed out, but 95% or more of the trails were rideable (for an experienced rider). We had some Jeep trails, some really old Jeep trails that had turned into single track, and some true single track. I have a feeling this is quite typical of the trails in the forest. I had a blast, the other riders that day also had a blast. I would definitely do another ride with these guys. The guides speak English, have a sense of humour, and obviously all are friends. They took care of us and had fun doing it. The bikes are either Trek or Kaze. I rode the Kaze, all had deore rear derailleurs and mine was in great shape. All had hydraulic disc brakes as well. I loved my bike, well balanced and responsive.
My family of four went on one of the Doi Suthep mountain bike trips (beginner level) in December 2018. We enjoyed the day, due to the great guides and interesting terrain and fun trails. A few caveats: keep receipts (we paid cash in full in advance, but when the day arrived they didn't seem to have a record of that). Also, carefully check the bike you get to ride (my wife's bike had a rear derailleur that wasn't functioning properly and the bike my son used had brake issues that needed tending twice on the trail). And lunch was so-so. Recommended for the great riding, helpful guides and scenery.
It’s taken a couple of days of contemplation (and ice for my butt) for me to review. I signed up for the “beginners” mountain bike ride. We were collected and taken to the central base where we paid/got helmets and gloves and a briefing. The Thai guide was very funny and terrified most of us with a big screen 3D presentation of the treks. He gave us all the option to change treks or withdraw! He also said things like -number 2 is for elite athletes, and the hospital is excellent 🤣 From there it was about an hour trip by car to the top of the mountain to collect a bike, elbow and knee guards. This was my first ever mountain bike (MB) experience and I thought that being a regular bike rider would suffice! OMG I was so wrong. I also expected that it would be a scenic, casual, easy ride down hill! Wrong again! I didn’t really notice the scenery as I was too busy bouncing my way downhill trying not to fall off! Other more experienced MB riders thought it was great. Staff were excellent and supportive. We stopped for coffee about one third down. We also stopped along the way to let everyone catch up. There were a few options along the way for some harder side tracks. It was mostly downhill with one large incline that most of us walked up. We finished at a beautiful, huge touristy lake and had lunch. Sadly lunch was awful, but lake was lovely. From there it was back to our hotel. These guys are very professional and well organised. I would say though if you aren’t a confident bike rider or if you don’t have a reasonable level of fitness and courage this is not for you. I am really glad I did it but it is more about the MB riding than it is about the scenery and nature. Have a crack though 👍🏽If you don’t have a tough, “riders butt” then expect to have a very sore one by the finish line🤣 It was cold at the top, warm at the bottom. Take sturdy shoes and a small back pack with water and a snack. Lunch wasn’t till around 3pm. 👍🏽 Enjoy and good luck 🙏🏼
My husband and I really enjoyed this day trip but I would say that this is more of an advanced beginner track. You share the road with trucks, motorcycles and other bikers quite frequently and the path, while very wide, is poorly maintained in some areas. I wouldn’t have been comfortable doing this track if it was my first time downhill biking. That being said - we loved it and would recommend it!
We went on trip #1 which you can choose when you book one of their excursions. Number one is for people with less or no experience and just want to enjoy their holiday. This route was up and down hill. Number 3 was for even more adventure and a more difficult route. We had a very rainy day what made it a lot more difficult to follow the route. But it also made it more exciting and the rain was refreshing with all the heat. The guides Jane and Pamm were great! They had a lot of humor and were very carefull with al of their customers! We enjoyed the whole day. From the trip up to the mountain untill we ended our trip at a beautiful lake where we enjoyed a great meal with little huts on the water with a great view. You have to try this when you are staying in Chiang Mai!!
Because we wanted to try downhill biking, we chose the beginners tour, which turned out to be perfect for us. Not too scary, not boring and the guide definitely knew his way through the mountain. We were picked up at our hotel at 9:20. Along with everyone else you then go to the office and get your safety instructions and your equipment (which is totally sufficient btw, I read another review that criticized this part). The bikes are already mounted on top of the buses, so there is no chance to check them or to be fitted beforehand. Then everyone spreads out onto the buses for the different tours. Turns out that my girlfriend and I are the only two doing the beginners tour that day, which is really nice. The trail itself is great and fun. Nothing else to say here :-) You enjoy the view, some fruits right from the tree (delicious!) and the local coffee during a few stops. There are plenty of opportunities to take pictures. Unfortunately, our guide was not really able to talk to us since he just knew very few words of English (mainly the commands and bike related words for doing the tour). Smalltalk and additional info about the countryside was impossible to get. He was very nice and helpful though. Also, we noticed that other guides were able to speak better English so don't take this as a common factor. For beginners, the instructions "how to move/behave on a downhill bike" were also pretty brief and lacked a few things (e.g. put the pedals parralel to the ground on tough territory, move your body more to the rear of the bike when riding steeper downhill trails) - probably due to the language barrier as well. I am a newbie to downhill bikes, but I know my way around with bikes a little bit. That being said, I think the type of bikes being used are high standard. Unfortunately, the bikes we had were a little worn off... The bike of my girlfriend was missing the numbers, showing what gear she was in on the right hand side (which is essential to have, esp. for beginners. Also her back tire/wheel wasn't straight anymore. The hydraulic break on my bike needed fixing twice during the 2 hour ride (again, crucial) and the front fork suspension needed some oil to work smoothly. The pedals were worn off on both bikes. So overall, the bikes could definitely need an update/some fixing. On the other hand, you don't really need the best bikes in the world to ride a beginners trail (besides the crucial parts mentioned above - that shouldn't happen). That being said, we still had lots of fun and kind of wanted to go right back up to do it all over again :-) The tour finishes at a scenic lake where you get to enjoy a really delicious thai meal in a hut right at the water. Perfect conclusion of a fun bike tour.
I had an awesome day biking the mountains outside of Chiang Mai. Beautiful scenery and challenging single track terrain. I was the only person in my group and my guide Pom was awesome. He had an extensive knowledge of the terrain and it was a pleasure riding with him all day. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their trips as well and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to explore the mountains surrounding Chiang Mai. Thanks Pom and everyone else at Mountain Biking Chiang Mai!
Me and my friend (two out of shape dudes in our thirties) did the beginner downhill course and it was perfect. Hard at times bit fun all the time. Short enough, was dead at the end. Shout out to Pom, great guy and great guide!

Wow, what a tour. It was crazy cold, wet and muddy the day of me tour. The staff are awesome. It was nice to be out there with a bunch of guys who seemed to be having as much fun as the group. The pads are a little wonky, but no big deal.

We were a mixed ability group of riders (1*advanced, 1*intermediate, 2*beginners) who signed up for the beginner / intermediate downhill trip 3. Unfortunately, it had been raining the days before, so the guides informed us that they were changing the routes and warned us of the dangers. By the end, the guides told me that they ended up taking us down route 3a (intermediate) after scaring some of our group and taking half of us down 6x (advanced). What worked well: +I had a great day mountain biking. My friends eventually enjoyed themselves after the initial scare. +The guides mixed up their style of leading to suit the terrain. +The website is very informative with maps, photos and details comparing each route. +The initial briefing had great Google Earth visuals and a solid pinch of good humour. +When I realised the company also does kayaking (grades 1 - 5), I checked out the storage shed and was impressed with their whitewater kayaks. Even better if: -The bike helmets need replacing. It took me 5-10 minutes to find a helmet that was not cracked and fitted OK. I don't know if the cracked helmets ended up being used. -Kayakers should also have well maintained specialist whitewater safety equipment (helmets and buoyancy aids) for whitewater grades 2+. The photos in the shop showed customers kayaking in whitewater with bike helmets! +The bikes need to be better maintained to suit their intended use. I was riding a hardtail Trek mountain bike down steep, rooty and rutted off-camber switchbacks, but it felt that I was about to go over the bars (handlebar stem was the wrong length) while the bike was rattling and I couldn't access half my gears or the lowest gears kept coming off the rings and jamming (need to index the rear derailleur). +Guides need to do their job of guiding / leading, rather than going out for a ride with their friends. At one point, half our group got separated by traffic, redirected by a policeman in a busy village and missed a turn. The tail guide then shouted abuse at us in English(!) until we turned around to follow him and return to the group. It's shameful for him because he lost control of his own temper and failed to lead us through a busy village.
Our family is active but had never mountain biked before. We chose the Eagle route (1) for “motivated beginners.” We paid 1500 baht, plus 250 to enter the park. Got picked up at our guest house at 9:20 in a songthew and taken to the outfitter to get an overview and equipment, then taken 35 minutes up the mountain. Began biking at 12 as a group of six, guided by Jay in front with another guide in the back. The more advanced route 3 and ours began together and intersected after the first segment at a hilltop snack bar, at which point four group 3 folks dropped back to our group 1, and we got an third guide. Then a bit further on, group 1 was able to split again, choosing either the flatter road or the steeper one. Six of us and two guides chose the steeper, which gave us a thrill (and a wipe out). My 12-year old led the pack. Our bikes were high-quality and well-maintained, super light. We finished biking after 2h45 mins, and enjoyed a meal of curry chicken, egg, and rice in a series of charming huts jutting into the lake in Mae Rim. We were dropped back at our hotel by 4pm. The scenery was great, but we didn’t stop for many photo shoots. Our guide spoke great English and was attentive and helpful.
We had Jane as our guide and he was the best!!! So funny and kind and helpful. We did a day of mountain biking and saw the most beautiful scenery we’ve seen yet on our trip...and the ride was challenging but so much fun. We did “course 1” and had a lot of support and care and enough breaks to feel energy throughout. I went pretty slow and steady and since there were two guides with us it was fantastic as some could go ahead faster and some of our group could go slow. There were only 4 in our group. We will definitely be back for riding and kayaking! Thank you June for making our trip so special! 5 stars for you!!!
Loved my mountain biking with Art and the team here. As a complete novice i am now a convert to dirt roads. Great safety briefing first all the equipment is in great shape and the route was breath taking. This is not a chilled 3 hours on 2 wheels. But if you're up for the challenge it will be truly rewarding. Adrenalin rush to the max!!

Fantastic experience with Pom and Art as the perfect hosts

I went for level 1ride which still requires a reasonable amount of bike skills. The bikes were very good. The guides patient and encouraging offering excellent advice. The views were great . Lunch was good. Although challenging and even a bit scary at times your guides will get you through the ride and only take you to where they believe you can handle the ride. It gave you a sense of doing something special.
We start our biking tour a little bit higher than cloudy point on the left side of the first pic and finish at the lake point (the one on the second pic). 23 km mostly downhill (but this doesn't make it easier) - 3 km of nice road so that u can enjoy the view of jungles and listen to its peaceful sounds, the rest 20 km is the real challenge and adventure (I am not experienced in biking) Rocks, mud, there was rain before that so the road became slippery .... completely OFF-ROAD!! Despite everything I did not regret I tried it. I enjoyed the feeling when we were already at the finish. Amazing Experience and our guide was very kool and supported us during the whole tour If you are into such things then it is a must-try
Three of us organised a mountain bike ride last minute one evening while we were trying to decide what to do. The company was very quick to respond to our email inquiry and confirm the booking which was great. We chose the level one (beginner) downhill ride as our group ranged from almost zero experience up to an intermediate level. The pick up and drop off by the company was very handy, as well as the lunch provided at the end of the ride. Due to recent rains the track was quite washed out and actually a lot more difficult than expected. This was fun for the more experienced riders, but not so much for the beginner. However the guys who were taking us on the ride were very professional, coaching everyone along and making sure nobody was left behind. Towards the end of the ride, the experienced riders in the group also got to separate slightly and try some more advanced tracks which was great fun. The bikes were of good quality and we were given bikes appropriate for our size too. Free drinking water was also provided. Overall a very fun experience, would recommend if you enjoy mountain biking and/or are up for a challenge!
Our group had a great day riding with Chiang Mai mountain biking. The staff was great, the equipment was good too. And the ride itself was a great experience. We rode in trucks to the top of the hill, then descended 1500 meters to the bottom, along a combination of paved roads, dirt roads and single track. All of it was very doable for our mixed skill group. A SAG truck followed to help when needed. 26 students and instructors had a great time.
We booked the tour at our hotel and decided to take Route 1: easy. The route which was planned for easy was closed so we took another route which was, let's say, level 3-4😂 We made it and just felt so happy. Some scratches and little other damages but it was worth it. The nature in Chiang Mai is just beautiful. We also got lunch btw. Highly recommended.
We had a really fun day today on a mountain biking trip. Our tour guide Jane was great, stopping at lots of places to point things out to us and tell us about the local farms and fruit growing around us. He was really knowledgeable about the area and a good laugh. We originally booked route 1, however our guide changed this for us half way through as we were managing well and he took us on a more challenging route that suited us better. We were able to cycle the route at our own pace. Bikes were in good condition and the included lunch was really nice.Would recommend the tour company to others.
First things first...It was super easy to book and the tour guide picked me up at the hostel as scheduled. The office is clean and, besides being used all the time, the bikes are well kept and work just as expected. And they are all equipped with Shimano Acera and Tektro hydraulic brakes, at least. The one I randomly got had a combo of Alivio/Deore. Nice! I have a ton of experience with xc, trail and downhill mountain bikes, and the trail it self was not that challenging, but I gotta say it does have some nice downhill sections with roots and loose rocks. Some people had difficulty and got a few bruises, but that's ok! The guides are super friendly and experienced as well, and can help you if you are not that confident, or, if you are, they lead the way to the most challenging single tracks and dh sections. Well, either way if you are a beginner or experienced rider, this is a must do in Chiang Mai. I am definitely going to see them again.
Our guides were lovely and everything was almost exceptional, my only picking point would be that it was advertised for beginners but I would say you'd need to have done it before as it was very hot and pretty far to go. But other than that I enjoyed seeing a different part of chiang mai!
All the guides were super friendly and helpful. They take care of everything for you from picking you up at the hotel to safety gear, lunch and more. The #1 ride was really enjoyable, but be prepared for some serious downhill with lots of bumps if you aren't used to mountain biking. Could be a bit unsettling if all you are used to is casual bike touring.
We really enjoyed the day. It was a great way to see the beautiful national park! My girlfriend and I are both confident cyclists, reasonably fit but haven't done much mountain biking before. We are glad that we chose the easiest tour (#1) - it was challenging enough for us! The bikes seemed good quality and modern. We had a couple of small issues but the guides fixed them quickly. This route is almost entirely downhill (a couple of short climbs) and mostly involves riding on bumpy double track paths, with around five small sections of technical single track that some people in the group chose not to do - there was always an alternative route. The guides were great. One lead the group and one followed at the rear. The day ended with a delicious lunch of Thai curry by a beautiful lake.
Here's my profile so it can help you judge if this is for you: First time mtb, road cyclist, good skills on a bike, 6'3" and good cardio. My gf, first mtb ride and not really a bike enthousiast. So we chose the easy mtb ride (#1). They come get you at your hotel and on time. We booked via the website. When we got there, they were fairly well organized. Note that you have TO PAY CASH. They give water so take a couple of bottles. There's no water bottle mounts on the bikes so bring a backpack. Our guide was Hart (sorry if i mispell his name). Really cool dude and speeks perfect english. We had lots of fun with him, funny and loves people (especially beautiful canadian girls! ;-) He even gave me is BMC bike for the day coz he thought mine was too small. You get up the mountain in the trucks and when you get there, you are given protection gear. New velcros on the elbow and knee pads would be a great amelioration. When you get to go down, start slowly and get used to your bike. The ride is a bit challenging but really nice if you go at your pace and respect your skills. There's some climbing that could challenge your cardio, but it's less than 5% of the ride. If you want more, you'll probably have the chance as i did to do some single tracks while the others go down the easy route. The single tracks are not very long so the group will rejoin you quickly or vice versa. I had a blast in those (probably a bit more than i could handle, but again, i went at my pace). You may find that you don't have lots of time at the view points and i tend to agree with that. My gf and others thought the same thing. Being a bike lover, i just wanted to go down! Get out your camera quickly! The ride ends at the beautiful lake and lunch is real nice (not a very big portion though). After lunch you are brought directly at your hotel. So there you have it. I loved my day and would do it again. I hope you get to meet Hart before his mom let's him go back to the US. Is it risky? This is mountain biking so yes, but you'll be golden if you respect your skills. Have fun! David
A well organized, knowledgeable organization and fun guides. I had a great time with Art and his men. It had just rained and the men made sure that everyone was safe during the slippery downhill tracks. The day starts with a route & safety briefing. After the briefing you drive to the top of the mountain (west of the city, past Doi Suthep). The routes take you through beautiful scenery and Hmong rural villages. Depending on your skill level there are various routes to choose from (I choose route 3). The bikes are good and the shop provides a helmet, short gloves and knee- and elbow protectors. The tour exceeded my expectations!

Great trip but very disappointing booking process. It was only luck and another person at our accommodation on the same trip that we were picked up, despite having paid online.Apparently our booking had not reached the company

I booked a last minute downhill trail ride. It was awesome. Fun all the way from the shop to the top of the mountain. Great trails on the way down. Ask for Palm to guide you. Speaks good English and he rips on the downhill. Can't wait to get back! -Luke.
Beware. We were sold hike n bike as suitable for beginners. Whilst I have a fair bit of mtb experience I still found route #1 moderately tricky. It's great fun if you're experienced but terrifying if you're a beginner. There was virtually no instruction at the beginning. Certainly no roll by practice for beginners. This was in no way suitable for inexperienced bikers and really damaged my girlfriend 's confidence. Luckily, she abandoned and didn't hurt herself. We really feel like route #1 was mis-sold. Whilst I enjoyed it and thought the guide was nice I can't help but feel disappointed with the way this company sells tours and puts inexperienced bikers at risk
Headed out with five friends for the basic intro level. While the tour said whole day it's a 45min drive to the summit, took about 1.5hrs of riding down with lots of stops and breaks on the way including a coffee shop/plantation. Don't stress it's not 4hrs of riding. (Route 1). Water, lunch and safety gear is provided. You need to pack snacks, Sun cream, glasses and insect repellent. The beginner level was challenging but not crazy. You need a bit of fitness to do this as mountain biking is quite full on. Maybe select cross country if you're not happy going down hill. The track wad muddy with recent rain which made it a bit harder. Views were amazing and it wad great fun. Worthwhile for adrenalin, views and fitness.
I did 2 days full activity with mountain biking chiang mai and it was by far my best days in chiang mai. First i did the mountain biking which is quiet hard but also procur really nice feeling ! It was my first time ever and for sure not the last one ! The staff were nice and we had much fun ! My second day was kayaking in the jungle.i was alone so i had the luck to go there with the owner of the company and also have a private course. The weather was perfect and we had really much fun ! U should definately go to one of them if you are in chiang mai ! If you are looking for nice activity, fun and sporty, u should definately book it there !!! Greatz, Jammy
Although fit I had only been mountain biking once previously so chose trip 1. Absolutely loved it. It had rained the day before so still a bit slippery but that added to the fun. I was the only one on that trail so Kung took great care of me & no pressure to go too fast. He was super patient when I came off a few times. The views from what I saw when I wasn't concentrating were gorgeous. Lunch by the lake was lovely.

Had a brilliant day out with this lot. Very friendly, helpful and looked after us all really well.

Please can crazy man send us some of the photos he took to our email address - thank you

Went out for a 50th birthday boys week away with the intention to spend most of the week mountain biking both cross country and downhill riding. Had made contact with Aidan before we left. Great feed back and quick response from initial questions etc. We did 3 cross country rides and 2 downhill rides. First day was on the route that took in the mountain furthest away from town, poured down for a good 2 hours on the ride but we had great time. trails are great although with the rutts and general gradient you encounter it can be tough if you are a novice rider but the guides will not let you get beyond your ability. For us we were more than able to ride the trails, a few crashes etc but all down to us. The guides taking us out were great and had a good sense of humour and the whole 5 days were great, each day different routes. For the serious rider i would recommend taking your own bike out if you are used to riding Full Sus trail or Enduro bikes as the cross county route are on Hardtails which are fine and do the job but i would have had a better time on my own full sun (in fact Aidan did recommend this if it was an option). The downhill bike (konas) were fine for the kind f riding we would do for downhills. Give these guys a call as they can taylor a route to your ability.

Excellent fun and games! But not for absolute beginners, there's a steep climb near the end of the ride of course that will severely test your skills - Other than that as said, great fun, great crew. the scenery is fantastic. A great day was had by all, just remember to take and drink enough water.....you will need it!!

Great fun. It's a great service to be driven to the top of a mountain without having to ride up and just enjoying the trip down. Be conservative though. A moment of over confidence can cause problems - speaking from experience. The team were great when I came off though and made sure I was sorted.
So ok - I am a slightly tubby unfit middle aged woman so I did find the hiking and the mountain biking somewhat challenging. But I did manage it all (just about). I wouldn't say that the mountain bike route was 'introductory' in anyway. I could certainly have done with it being a bit easier. However, the guides were awesome, really patient and made sure everyone was ok and briefed properly. The bikes were also in good condition. Lunch at the top and then down by the lake was really good as well. The rest of my group certainly seemed to enjoy it.
best route for biking and explore the city and nature, very safe and the driver here respect the cyclist too. at the peak you can have beautiful look out of the chiang mai city. There are few stop and enjoy the coconut drink :)
