Itinerary
Wat Sri Suphan, also known as the Silver Temple, is a unique and visually stunning temple in Chiang Mai, famous for its intricately handcrafted silver decorations. Located near Wua Lai Road, the city’s traditional silver-making district, the temple showcases exquisite silver carvings that depict Buddhist teachings, Lanna culture, and mythical creatures. Wat Sri Suphan is a must-visit for those interested in Lanna heritage, traditional craftsmanship, and unique temple architecture.
Wat Chedi Luang, or the Temple of the Great Stupa, is one of Chiang Mai’s most historic and revered landmarks. Built in the 14th-15th century, this ancient temple once housed the Emerald Buddha, Thailand’s most sacred relic. The temple’s massive brick chedi (pagoda), though partially ruined by an earthquake in the 16th century, still stands as an awe-inspiring structure, showcasing the grandeur of old Lanna architecture. Surrounding the chedi are beautifully adorned temples and the City Pillar Shrine (Inthakin Shrine), an important spiritual site for locals. Visitors to Wat Chedi Luang can explore its rich history, stunning architecture, and serene atmosphere, making it a must-visit cultural site in Chiang Mai.
Wat Phra Singh, one of Chiang Mai’s most important and revered temples, is renowned for its classic Lanna architecture, intricate wood carvings, and sacred Buddha images. Built in 1345, the temple houses the highly revered Phra Buddha Sihing, which is believed to be one of the most significant Buddha statues in Northern Thailand. The temple complex features beautifully decorated viharns (prayer halls), golden chedis, and detailed murals that depict ancient Thai folklore and Buddhist teachings.
The Karen Long Neck Village offers a fascinating glimpse into the traditions and way of life of the Karen Padaung people. Known for their distinctive brass neck rings, which symbolize beauty and cultural identity, the women of the village have preserved this tradition for generations. Visitors can observe traditional weaving, interact with the locals, and learn about their history, customs, and craftsmanship. A visit to the Karen Long Neck Village is a unique and culturally enriching experience, offering insight into one of Thailand’s most fascinating ethnic communities. *The duration included traveling time from Chiang Mai City*

We toured the 3 most beautiful temples in Chiang Mai and the village Karen (Long Neck) with Nancy, our guide, who was very good! Super prepared, she explained everything to us in detail and told us a lot of interesting things. She was very kind and helpful throughout the day and also took a lot of photos, making the experience even more beautiful. A really fantastic experience, which we absolutely recommend, especially thanks to Nancy's skill and friendliness! ❤️
Took a tour with our guide Jane, she is very sweet and explained us everything very well. Worth every buck spent.
Highly recommended! Jane our guise was terrific, very nice and friendly. 100%
Nancy from WanderSiam gave us an excellent tour, explaining the history and culture in detail. She was exceptionally flexible and adapted to our personal interests. She also showed us how to respectfully support the people in the Long Neck Karen Village. This tour is an absolute must for anyone visiting Chiang Mai !!
Good experience. Good trip. THANK YOU YOU JANE.
We booked this trip because it was 4 hours and that was plenty of time to see the temples and visit long neck village. Jane was our tour guide and she did a fantastic job explaining everything to us and taking our time at every location. We got lucky and we were the only ones on the tour. I would highly recommend if looking to see temples but not wanting to spend an entire day. Thank you again Jane!
We had hotel pick up which was soo convenient. Had great explanations by Jane at the Karen village and temples. Jane was knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. She also checked I with how we were all doing since it was such a hot day. She gave us the option of skipping the last temple which was a good call and all of us agreed since it was such a hot summer day! Fun to talk with Jane.
This tour was great and we learned a lot about the history of the long neck tribe as well as got indepth knowledge on the temples. The guide was really sweet and explained everything clearly, she also took pictures for us and made us a short video based on them at the end of the tour. Would highly recommend.
The experience was amazing, Nancy was very careful and explained everything about the Karen tribe and the long neck culture. Very recommended experience!
Jane was a joy of knowledge. I will book the tour again.
Really great, short but very interesting tour for any new commer to Chiang Mai.. 4 must see places, very convient transportation, enough time to wander around the temples, great tour guiding :)
We were picked up right in time and headed to the long neck village. Our guide spoke great English and answered all our questions. Note that the ride to the village is 30-40 minutes. On a really hot day, riding in the back of the truck might get uncomfortable. That said, it was an authentic experience. Very happy with the tour.
My visit to the Karen Long Neck Village in Chiang Mai was both educational and ethical. It was a genuine pleasure to be welcomed into the village and gain a small but meaningful insight into their way of life. Our guide, Maggie, was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and engaging. She shared detailed stories about the families and children, helping us better understand their traditions and daily experiences. Afterwards, we visited several temples, which offered the same authentic and insightful experience. Maggie continued to share her deep knowledge and passion for Thai culture and history, making the entire day feel truly special. Overall, it was a respectful and enriching experience that I would highly recommend to anyone looking to learn more about the local culture in an authentic way.
We had a wonderful and super-informative day with Maggie. It was incredibly interesting to learn so much about the cultural background. We were especially lucky to have the tour just with her, which gave us the chance to ask plenty of questions. Maggie was very friendly, polite, and also a great photographer. Absolutely recommended!
We enjoyed the trip. It was perfect. The guide was very professional and interesting. They picked us up on time and took care of all our needs.
We did this with a tour company and had a private car and hide. He did all that was on the itinerary plus much more. Very long day but fantastic and well worth doing. She another way of life.
We went on a temples tour with our guide Samman and our Tuk Tuk driver Tae. Samman provided the link to this tour for us to review. Our meeting point was at the Burger King in the old town, Samman was waiting for us when we arrived at 9.30am with bottled water. Our first stop was to Warorot market where our guide pointed out the different products they sell in the market and what the uses for these products were. Next we stopped off at the three kings monument it was only a short stop to take a few photos and for Samman to speak through the history. Next were the temples of Wat Chedi Luang, Wat Phra Singh, and the silver temple (Wat Sri Suphan). Samman spoke through the history at these places but also took photos for us and sent them over via WhatsApp at the end of the tour. He was on hand to answer any questions we had but also gave us some free time at these places to explore. Tae our driver was very good and she was always waiting for us ready to jump on and head to the next point. The Tuk Tuk was big enough for the 3 of us in the back and had comfortable seats although a little bumpy at times. The tour was a relaxed morning tour and lasted around 3 hours. Instead of going back to the meeting point they asked us where we would like to be dropped off afterwards so we opted to go back to our hotel.
I took a tour with this company and the driver stole $740.00 US from my backpack! I called the company who then blamed me for leaving my back unattended in the LOCKED tour bus! I went to make a police report at Chiang Mai police and tourism and they “ALL LAUGHED”, and said I was “RACIST” for accusing the driver who was the ONLY person with my BAG! BEWARE of these THIEVES in THAILAND!!!
This tour was perfect for me. It was short but had all the things that I wanted, 3 temple visits and a trip to the Karen-Padaung village. Tu was very knowledgeable and patient in answering my questions. He even encouraged me to have interactions with the children.
I felt well taken care of at all times. My guide's name is Ata, he is very friendly, caters to all requests, and has extensive knowledge of history and culture.
He also explained the temple in detail and was kind and very kind. I also enjoyed the village of the chiefs.
Jane's guide was very easy to understand and very kind. I recommend it to everyone.
Despite the bad weather, Nancy made it a nice afternoon. Temples and things we wouldn't have seen otherwise. Good explanation and enthusiastic guide.
I think if it’s worth doing this excursion, I just didn’t like the long neck village because it seems super touristy. I guess it's also the only thing you can see without going to a remote town. The history of the temples we visited if it is interesting and our guide (Jane) was amazing, we asked her many things and knew how to answer them all! Recommended and reasonable quality/price.
Very nice tour. Beautiful temples and village longneck was also very nice and educational. Our guide Eny was totally top, I would advise her.
I am very grateful that this time there was only one participant, and even one person, who carried out the tour. We had a wonderful guide (Ms.Nancy) who explained in fluent English what we wondered about Chiang Mai, temples and ethnic groups. They also taught us how to pray at the temple and gave flowers and incense for the first time in Thailand. Also, since it was my first time in Chiang Mai, besides this tour, I was kindly told about the sights of Chiang Mai and recommended restaurants there. I recommend it because I think it's a very good tour to get to know ethnic minorities (especially kids) that I've only seen on TV and understand the unique Chiang Mai temple.
