Khampan Rafting: White Water Rafting Guided Adventure In Chiang Mai

This was a great rafting trip. There was a mix of action in the rapids and a calm stretch for scenic elephant nature park viewing. The post lunch activity is a waterfall slide and a slight swim. I really liked our guide. Mike was epic - good sense of humor, fun to be around, and very relaxed! Highly recommend!

From the start to the end this experience was fabulous! We were picked up from our hotel in a comfy van and drove about an hour and a half to the base for the rafting. The rafting itself was great fun - the guides very hilarious! But also we felt safe in their hands. The last section is a paddle through the elephant sanctuary which was beautiful. The elephants looked well cared for and free to roam around within the large area. We had a delicious lunch and then a short walk to a waterfall where some people jumped down into a pool. All in all a fabulous day out!

This was the worst and sadest experience I have had in a long time. When you book, you are not informed that this tour includes seeing elephants; if we had known that, we would never have gone. The elephants are chained to trees and trained to pose for tourists. The entire experience with river rafting and the beautiful nature was overshadowed by the unbearable conditions these elephants live under. Elephants are not animals that should live in captivity—they have emotions on a level comparable to us humans. I cannot describe the feeling I am left with, and from the very first elephant we saw, I wanted to go home, because I in no way agreed to support such an ethically wrong place that is so indifferent to the lives of these beautiful elephants. If you want a clear conscience, I would advise you to never go anywhere near this place.

Such fun! Well organised and stress-free experience run by a team with good humour. I felt safe with the equipment, safety briefing, and support crew on hand. Lunch after the rafting was tasty and there was more than I could finish. And the waterfall sliding was a fun way to finish off the day before heading back

These guys were fantastic! Great communication during pick up. The water levels were low but they put us in two man kayaks and kept it fun and exciting. The lower part of the trip we did ran through the elephant sanctuary- there were elephants in the river as we floated by and water buffalo. It was extraordinary. It also felt very safe and well thought out. We went with two families, four adults and 4 teenagers. Everyone had a great time! The lunch was really nice as well. Highly recommend- absolutely would go with these guys again!

I was a solo traveller to chiang mai and booked a trip with these guys. Thomas picked me up from inside the old town square and drove me to there base. On route Thomas told me that I was there only booking today. (Probably because of burning season). When I arrived I was made very welcome by the team and introduced to Em (definitely spelt wrong) who was going to be my raft guide. We got kited up and drove approx 15 mins upstream to the start. A quick safety briefing and we was underway We used the small raft as it was just me but with low river levels the Larger rafts would have struggled anyway. During the experience we encountered some good white water in places and elephants bathing in the river as we passed. Lunch was served at there base before heading up the hill to a waterfall and played about on a natural slide Whist rafing a photographer was chasing us and got some great pictures. ( I was expecting the hard sell but they simply sent them to me on what's app.) All in all I cannot recommend this company high enough. I think it just goes to show that one customer is as important to them as a raft full of customers. THANK YOU GUYS

This tour was so SO much fun! The scenery of the river was beautiful and when the rapids came up it didn’t feel dangerous but still gave us juuust the right dosage of adrenaline and sense of adventure! The guides were also so funny and playful and the food was yummy. They even took us on a short hike afterward and we slid down a waterfall! Then we rode back on the top of the truck and it was just the perfect end to our wonderful honeymoon! Highly recommend if you’re looking for fun and adventure!

This was excellent. The leader was passionate about our seeing everything and he even swam pulling me by the hand so I could see a few amazing fish!

The tour was amazing!! I am absolutley amazed by the family who runs the Business- they were all so cute and funny! Even though I was the only one doing the tour because two other guys didn‘t show up, the tour happened and I was so glad!! Saw some elephants down rafting, relaxed and swam a bit. Such a beautiful nature, the lunch was amazing too!! 🥰

Fantastic full day out and great value for a full day of rafting with the kids. We had 3 boys (8-11) and 3 adults across 2 rafts - really nice and friendly guides and a nice Pad Thai for lunch. Tip for booking is to contact them directly as you get mega discount

Best day in our entire month in Thailand, it was amazing to do the rafting through such beautiful surroundings, it was a good length and the river was a perfect balance of being exhilarating but not scary. Our guide, Mike, was really friendly and very funny! Thank you Mike for an amazing day 😊 After the rafting the natural slides were good fun, and Mike also was great at showing us animals and plants through the jungle. Highly recommend.

I took my 14-year-old nephew rafting, and we had the best day! Tom, Meme, and Momo from Khampan Rafting made a great team, well organised from the hotel pick-up to the rafting safety briefing. We knew exactly what we were doing, and they explained the small changes that were being made to keep us safe with the current conditions on the river (post-floods). We had a great group of outgoing international travellers that made the day, too! We rafted for about 12 km, a mixture of rapids and calm stretches, right down to the elephant sanctuary. Lunch was simple and tasty, with freshly made Pad Thai (vegetarian) & fruit suitable for all taste buds, bottled water was plentiful, and a short hike to the waterfall to complete the day: home late afternoon, seamless service end to end. Tom, our guide, shared all the photos he had taken of us from various vantage points along the way, airdropping 98 pics and 11 videos - free of charge, a nice touch when lots of companies charge you extra for this service. If you like adventure, fun, nature and time off your phones, get out and go rafting!

Thanks to the friendliest and most helpful guides this was a great day out of the city. The tour was organised, safe and lots of fun. We were also sent a heap of photos from the day which was an unexpected bonus. Highly recommended as a family outing.

We had such a beautiful day rafting with this company. The rapids were fun but not scary, and the scenery was beautiful. Floating down the river watching elephants play in the water was truly magical. The guides were very kind. Highly recommend.

Such wonderful people and a wonderful experience. I felt like a part of the family all day. The rafting was exciting and fun! I fell out of the boat on one of the rapids and loved every minute of it 😅 The food was incredible afterwards on the deck overlooking the river I just rafted. If you're a spoiled princess that wants 5 star everything, book somewhere else. But if you're an authentic person that wants an authentic experience, this is the group for you.

This was absolutely the best day and so much fun. The team that guided and supervised the rafts were so personable, funny and really engaging. Tom is such a character and the whole team worked brilliantly together, you could tell How much they loved their jobs. They were very professional with all the safety briefings and we really felt confident in the rafts with them. Going through the rapids was brilliant so much laughing from our teenagers! I would definitely do this again if I am in Chiang Mai, a magical experience rafting along the river with elephants by the water, beautiful scenery and also a natural water slide to try after a fantastic lunch provided.

This was hands down the highlight of our three week adventure to Thailand. Tom picked us up and drove us up to Khampan Rafting where he gave us a great safely run down. Then we set off in our raft with guides Aun and Bank with Tom as a kayak guide right beside us. We could tell they all love their jobs and they were so inclusive. We rafted for 10km and had a blast the whole way, plus we got to see tons of elephants near the waters edge. There were also plenty of staff near by the rapids to take pictures and for additional safety measures. After rafting we stopped for a delicious lunch and then Tom took us out to go for a small hike and see a waterfall. Everything was as beautiful and Tom taught us a ton of about the local flora and fauna. We had an absolute blast and would recommend this to anyone that was looking to do some rafting in Chiang Mai!

I just did the half day rafting and waterfall slide with Khampang Rafting and I have to say that I loved it! The staff were fun and friendly, the rafting was exciting but not too challenging, and we got to see elephants at the end of the rafting adventure. I recommend Khampang Rafting!

Absolutely amazing experience river rafting! Our first time and it was spectacular. Special thanks to Yu who picked us up from our hotel, and all the guides were amazing, laughing and keeping us at ease! They made sure we had a fun time and were safe the whole time down the river. Water levels were reasonable to enjoy class III rapids but slowly descend, which was great as beginners. If we return to Chiang Mai we will 100% do it again! Thank you!

Transportation, driver was polite and respectful,safety guideness about rafting was professional, I recommend to take 10km rafting for more fun.

What an amazing day we spent on the river. Our whole family had a blast, from 62 to 13 everyone had fun. Tom and his crew made us feel welcomed and safe from pick up to drop off. The river was beautiful, the rapids were exciting, the food was delicious, and everyone had fun on the water fall hike, especially the kids sliding on the falls.

Super nice rafting tour with lots.eye for safety. Today a part had to be skipped because of the amount of water, but the rest was still super nice. The last part was much.calmer and we saw a lot of elephants. Delicious simple lunch where they also took into account my son's gluten-free diet. After lunch sliding down the waterfall which was just as much fun.
