I dressed special for this occasion, northern Thailand style according to Noom my tour guide. Who by the way was a phenomenal guide. The temple’s historical significance and history was covered well in a fashion that was easy to follow. The views were astonishing and we were able to take a few stops off the beaten path to catch some jade bling and righteous coffee. Would recommend this tour not only for the views but for the company. I mean Noom was awesome and he even took me to see a monk. What else does one need!

Temple of the tunnels and Buddha Dhamma garden - or Umong Temple located just west of Chiang Mai city near Doi Suthep mountain. The temple was abandoned during the 15th century. In 1948 the temple was restored and was reopened as a center for meditation and Buddhist teachings. The temple’s setting in a forested area with a natural lake makes Umong temple an excellent place for meditation.
While most people head to the top of Doi Suthep to visit the golden chedi of Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, many don’t realize there’s another gem hiding part way up the mountain. While it is not a particularly beautiful temple building, it features magical temple grounds including a waterfall, forest paths and stunning views of the city.
One of northern Thailand’s most important and beautiful temples, located near the top of Doi Suthep (Mount Suthep). It is place of worship, dates back to the year 1373 when the first Chedi was built. It is an important pilgrimage spot for the devout and is sacred site to many Thai people. Visitors can take the 306 steps staircase or ride on a cable car to reach the pagodas. Experience the monks chanting which is a very spiritual experience. Enjoy the magnificence of the temple with its Golden Chedi glowing and spectacular views of Chiang Mai City and its surroundings at sunset. A must visit!

Gobi is the perfect guide, full of interesting stories, and Mr Boo ensured a perfect trip! Thank you both, we learned a lot about Buddhism and Thai history. We liked this trip a lot!
My Tour Guide June was simply divine. She has such a lively spirit and shares a passion for Chiang Mai History and Culture. Her story telling skills together with her cheerful nature made this tour the highlight of my Chiang Mai Trip. Will definitely come back for visit again!
This excursion was worth every penny. Confortable air conditioned mini bus. Great driver and guide. The three temples we visired were so interesting and all very different. We were impressed with all of them but especially Doi Suthep. It took our breath away with the gold glistening in the sunlight. Hearing the monks chanting and getting a couples blessing was a great experience. Our guide Noom was exceptional. So knowledgeable and took lots of photographs which he kindly sent to me. Also giving some very useful tips on how to get great shots with my camera. Highly recommend this excursion.
Noom was fantastic! The stories and lessons about the temples, Thai culture, and Buddhism in general was worth it.
What an amazing experience with a wonderful tour guide Noob was engaging and extremely knowledgeable. An advocate for Thailand and went out of his way to answer any questions.
Mr Nan our tour guide did a fantastic job. He told us all about the culture, explained the history of the temples, and made sure we had plenty of time at each location. He positioned us well to see the Monk’s chanting and explained it in detail. It was a perfect ending to a wonderful tour. Thanks Nan.
A really great trip with our guide Gobi and driver Nam. Gobi had excellent knowledge and personal experience of the monks and the temples. Nam's minibus was very high spec, clean and safely driven. We had a really great time and experience.
This tour was an ideal option for us staying in a remote location 25 minutes drive from Chiang Mai. It allowed us to visit the three most spectacular temples located around the city, which would be otherwise difficult when relying on a taxi or tuk-tuk.
All I can say is wow! The temples we were privileged to see were so very interesting and very different. What made this tour extra special was our guide Gobi! He was such an intelligent, interesting and great story teller! Our driver was also added a lot as he was also a photographer so he took so many fantastic pictures! Perfect amount of time, highly recommended
Our day began with Noom who was an outstanding guide. He provided all of the information we were interested in knowing and graciously responded to all of our questions. He was respectful to take cues from our pace, understood what was of interest to us, was sure they we always had the best vantage points, photo tips, and valuable information. Noom always made sure we were comfortable and happy. He also satisfied our intellectual curiosity. He had great communication with the driver to ensure he was at the ready for us as well and we had plenty of water and refreshing cool wipes. We had a memorable experience visiting the temples and understood the connection between them, the city of Chiang Mai and the people. This tour felt so personal and enriching. We felt so lucky to have this experience. Would highly recommend and suggest you request Noom. He will ensure your experience is meaningful to you.
Our family of five had a wonderful afternoon/evening touring Wat Umong, Wat Pha Lat, and Wat Phra That Doi Suthep. Our guide, Gobi, was exceptionally friendly, knowledgeable, and patient with all of our questions. He provided us with so much useful information not only about the temples, but also Thai history and culture — and all with a great sense of humor. Both he and our driver were very thoughtful and polite every step of the way. When it was time to watch the evening prayer chant at Doi Suthep, Gobi even saw to it that one member of our group who needed it had access to a chair rather than sitting on the ground. He even left us with restaurant recommendations! I would highly recommend this experience to anyone wishing to learn more about Buddhism and the area’s rich history. And definitely ask for Gobi if you can! You won’t be disappointed.
We arranged this trip through our hotel concierge at short notice. Out guide Pe was very good and the driver Boo was courteous. Pe explained everything patiently, did not hurry us and one of the best guides we have seen. I really recommend this company for your local tours
We loved our trip to the temples with our guide Gobi at AP tours and our driver Boo. They were both knowledgeable about Thai history, the temples, and Chiang Mai culture. Not only was Gobi kind to us but he was helpful, kind, and outgoing to other travelers around us. We would take a tour again with them anytime. The air conditioned car was a real blessing. All three temples were a valuable experience because each was quite different from the next.
It was an amazing experience! Nikki the guide was incredible knowledgeable, friendly and professional . Truly enjoyed our afternoon!
One of the best tours I have been on. Nikki and Jack were amazing. Keep up the great work. Nikki’s personal touch made the day amazing. It’s great to see someone passionate about their work.
We liked the variety of the temples we visited and our guide was very enthusiastic. Glad we went as we learned a lot and was just the right amount of time.
This tour was wonderful! Our driver & tour guide picked us up & dropped us off at our accommodation. Peter, our tour guide spoke great English & gave us so much history about Chiang Mai & Thailand & the temples there. It was incredible to witness the monks chant & go inside all of the temples! Thank you Peter!!! We had a great time!!
This was an AMAZING tour. When I booked it I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. Our guide was wonderful. We went to 3 temples, and each one got better and better. It was such a great break from being in the bustling chaos of the temples in Bangkok. These temples are 100s of years old very quiet and meditative. The icing on the cake was at the end when we got to experience monks chanting at Doi Suthep, which is on top of the mountain overlooking Chiang Mai. A very beautiful and spiritual experience. Highly recommend!
Great choice if you want to learn more about the Buddhist philosophy. Out tour guide was very knowledgeable and we learned a lot from her. Money well spent for such a great afternoon we had. Thanks so much for great time
Our guide Bonnie was so knowledgeable and accommodating and the driver, Jack was excellent. They made our trip amazing.
Fa, our guide, was spectacular! I really enjoyed seeing the temples and the beautiful scenery. Thank you for a very pleasant afternoon.
Our last Temple tour of our trip to Chiang Mai with the BEST guide Mr.Noom who was punctual, VERY knowledgeable and fun! Our driver Mr. Boo was courteous, friendly and always had a new bottle of water and hand towels for us after each stop. We couldn’t be happier with our experience.

Pick up and drop off were on time. The driver managed the conditions up the mountain well. He had a good sense of humour. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and spoke English well. The first two sites were very interesting, not so touristy or busy even on the weekend. The tunnels were a bit too busy for meditation so we meditated at another place which was extremely quiet and peaceful, allowing us to take in the sounds of nature. I previously visited Doi Suthep earlier in the same day so I wasnt expecting much but I got to see a lot more compared to the morning. We saw monks chanting at around 6pm and the view from the viewpoint was much better.

Visit of 3 temples, very unique, completely different from one another... I was most impressed by the one of Burmese origin... which is the second one in the middle of the forest! But the last one is from the 1300s and is considered one of the most important temples not only in the city but in all of Thailand... the guide is very good, experienced, never stops talking, is also very curious about our habits... a war machine, let's say... the driver is top-notch, van-style car, very comfortable, very clean, and he drives impeccably... compliments
