My partner and I did this tour with our 12- and 14-year-old kids, and everyone had such a fun day exploring the countryside! The e-bikes were awesome and really well maintained, and our tour guide had a great vibe and spoke excellent English. The lunch was delicious, and the fresh fruit and a nice cold drink at the end of the tour were a lovely bonus! We’d definitely do this tour again if we’re ever back in Chiang Mai, and we highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys the outdoors. Oh, and don’t forget to ask your tour guide to take you to **Chamcha Cafe** for a break! It’s a lovely treehouse-like cafe, and the frappes and ice cream are the best! ☕🍦

Itinerary
Wat Ton Kwen is an old Lanna style temple and is located at the end of our morning adventure. Of course you see more than only Wat Ton Kwen, which is the most well known stop on our way. For details of Wat Ton Kwen we recommend to read their own description. Let yourself get surprised by the beautiful way to get there and further, including some more interesting stops. This is a great ride through the beautiful scenery around Chiang Mai in the hills. We cycle mostly in slightly curved land on paved roads. Focus is on the cycling experience on our E-bikes and seeing interesting places on our way like orchards, beautifull views and some villages we cross. Distance: 35-40 km
Several other, less touristic stops all over the tour area. Stopping times depend on interest of the group.

We loved our trip this morning. Everyone was super friendly and the bikes and route were a lot of fun. Hockey was a great guide and even took us to a lovely coffee shop for some well needed caffeine. I can’t recommend this trip enough. The lunch when we got back was fabulous too. Was also lovely to meet the owner.
Brilliant tour from start to finish. Hockey was an excellent guide & the tour is a lovely way to see the hills & scenery around Chiang Mai. The bikes are in super condition & are great fun to cycle. You don't need to be a regular cyclist to enjoy this tour.
Even in the rain it was still very good. Bikes in good repair. Guide spoke English. Felt very safe. Roads all paved
Great guide and an interesting way to see some of the country side surrounding Chiang Mai. Very friendly and helpful company to deal with.
Great morning bike ride with Hockey. Perfectly paced with breaks and stops to see temples and views. Bikes were in great condition.
Efficient tour with an enthusiastic team. E-bike worked perfectly and getting up hills in 37 degree heat, the assistance was very welcome! Be mindful of the haze this time of year which meant the views weren't as far as you'd get at other times of the year. Recommended!
We had a brilliant morning out on the fat bikes, exploring the Thai countryside, visiting the national park, coffee, great bikes, great food at the end and an all round great experience. Guides know lots about the area and the owner is a great friendly guy. Definitely recommend. Book direct through their website.
We had a fantastic day e-biking through the hills with our professional and knowledgeable guide, Tor. The scenery was simply divine, and visiting the beautiful temples was magical — especially with Tor’s engaging explanations of the local customs. A lovely highlight was stopping for coffee at Chamcha to feed the koi carp and enjoy the stunning gardens. Finishing the day with a delicious lunch at Buzzy Bee Bike was the perfect touch. An unforgettable experience — highly recommend!
Beautiful ride through countryside. Lots of water & rest breaks. Guide very knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend.
It was a great experience. We were picked up on time from our hotel lobby. The ride guide was very helpful and ensured everyone was okay. I recommend this tour.
Super fun day! Our tour guide was sick so the owner took us and gave us some beautiful insights to the country and lifestyle of the people of the area. The e-bikes were excellent to ride and the places were revealed through absolutely gorgeous - HIGHLY RECCOMEND THIS TOUR!
Lovely attention to detail and would highly recommend this trip to anyone! It’s our 2nd time doing this trip as we loved it so much 2 years ago. Our expert guide was Oki (sorry if I spelt it wrong, you know who you are!) The whole experience is slick with the perfect balance of professionalism and personalisation!
E bikes were great quality . Cycling was fun and tour very interesting. Our guide was excellent - very informative.
Fun outdoor experience and a small group. We rode to see a beautiful temple, had a few stops along the way to look at the beautiful views and learn about the area. We stopped at a food cart for some delicious fried pumpkin and banana; I guess the woman that makes it is well known and people come up there specifically for her cart. Our tour guide was the owner of Buzzy Bee, friendly and knowledgeable. Bikes were new, well maintained. Hilly ride but an Ebike makes that easy to handle. Lunch was provided and was so delicious! We recommend this tour.
Our tour with Buzzy Bee Bike tours was a fantastic way to see the beautiful countryside near Chiang Mai. They use electric fat-tire bikes, which makes the ride super easy and fun regardless of fitness level. Our guide was excellent—very knowledgeable and great company—our routes were manageable and interesting. The short breaks and stops they take along the way are really nice, and the lunch provided was really good. Overall had a fab time and would recommend to those even if you are not a cyclist!
Nice relaxe bike ride. Guide was nice and attentive to all needs. I would recommend buzzybeebike. E-bikes well maintained, good quality. Our guide Hockey was realy good and knologeable.
This is a great way to get out of the city and enjoy nature. Rice fields, bamboo, teak trees, plumeria…so much to take in. Definitely a hilly ride, but with an electric bike it was super easy even for two retirees. It was nice that they ended the tour with a homemade meal of pad Thai (they heard us sting how much we like that dish). The only think I would have changed is the weather which was completely out of their control. I would have rescheduled for a sunny day if we could have.
The tour was fantastic! I had never been on a fat tire E bike before, and it made the whole experience so much easier and I was able to pay more attention to the scenery. I like biking, but it was nice to have the option of how hard you wanted to push yourself, particularly in the hilly parts. Our guide was very knowledgeable and pointed out some local temples, and even explained how a local crematorium worked! We stopped for coffee at a hidden Café /restaurant that I never would have found on my own. I also enjoyed meeting and chatting with a family from Beijing, who was also on the tour. My pick up from my hotel was very prompt and I cannot recommend this tour highly enough!
A fantastic day cycling through the countryside just outside Chiang Mai. The guide was the Dutch owner, Josephus, who is very knowledgeable about Thai history and customs, so it was really, really interesting as well as being visually gorgeous - while getting a good workout. One of the highlights was a walk up to a stunning white temple with incredible views ... and very loud bell ringing! The bikes are excellent quality. The lunch at the end of the ride was very tasty. I'll definitely do another ride with them.
We had an amazing e-bike adventure through the back county roads around Chiang Mai. Our guide Hockey, was excellent. He was personable, funny and knowledgeable. Our tour was as described. No surprises. They picked us up at our condo and took us south of the city to their property which is away from the traffic. Our bikes were brand new fat bike e-bikes and they worked very well. We live in Kelowna BC and love to bike and this experience didn’t disappoint. The route was a mix of flat and rolling roads. The route was a loop that wound through fruit orchards and the jungle. We stopped at a lovely temple and did the optional hike to the top. We had to climb 900 stairs but the temple and the view was worth it. You can choose to take a shuttle as well. We stopped to look at some rice fields, a temple, and a local food vendor. We then had a nice lunch with the owner-operator back at the property at the end of the ride. The bike ride and the views were much of the focus and we loved seeing this part of the country. The beauty of e-bikes is that you can make the ride as hard or easy as you want. You could choose no assist to full assist if you needed the extra help or if it as really hot out. We recommend this trip to anyone who wants some exercise, like to ride and want to see the country side and a very nice temple to boot. Have fun.
3-4 hours is the time spent on the activity, however there' s significant travel time and squandered time on the tour. We spent about an hour at a temple (one of the adult riders didn't feel well and we had to wait with her for the support van. She was able to wait by herself). The guide spent too much time having private conversations with cyclists, while the rest of us stood around.. He should know how to move things along. That said, the riding was gorgeous and interesting. The bikes were in great condition. Lunch was awful. Again, we had to wait 15 minutes after the meal to go home. I went and fetched the guide.
Well run spin from start to finish, guide very helpful on our route on the bikes and knowledge of area, 6 of us on the ride I believe this could have been a bigger number. A tasty lunch when back at start/finish spot and plenty of water available. No complaints thanks for a good day out.
We were picked up at our hotel on time. We met other travelers from other countries and had a lovely conversation. Once we arrived, we were given thorough instructions on the use of the bicycles. The guide was knowledgeable and spoke multiple languages. When we returned, we were surprised to find a nice lunch and soft drinks. And we were returned to our hotel on time. Perfect experience. Exactly what we were looking for.
So fun! We loved our day e-biking outside the city. It was a perfect activity for us, a married couple with one teen son. We were picked up at our lodging on time and driven about thirty minutes outside the city where we got our bikes and a brief rundown. We rode for almost four hours with just the right amount of stops. We stopped at a Buddhist crematorium, a beautiful temple, a roadside vendor selling delicious fried bananas and Thai tea, a rice field, and a couple of other brief-ish stops as needed. Our guide spoke pretty good English and was very attentive to everyone’s well being. We did this excursion in February when the temperature is a bit cooler than when we came in August, which might have been too hot for our son. This was my favorite day trip we’ve done in Thailand over the course of two long visits (I have family retired in Chiang Mai).
I had a great day out, enjoying the beautiful hills and scenery on this ride. Hockey our guide (hope I spelt this correctly) was ever cheerful and encouraging the entire ride. Great to get out of the city, and explore on these great bikes, really did make the hills mostly effortless. Enjoyed fast paced last 3 kms on the flat with a race using level 5 assist, great fun. Healthy, tasty lunch served at the end before being taken back to my hotel. Worth every cent.
It was incredible! The service of the staff was second to none! The route was lovely, not too difficult at all and the bikes were very well maintained and safe! The owner(Joost) who picked us up from our hotel was amazing! He went above and beyond when dropping us off as he offered to take us to our next hotel with all our luggage!! Class guy!
Fantastic trip, highly recommend. They accommodated us as a last min booking, everything went smoothly from pick up to drop off. Bikes were great quality, guide was brilliant, views and ride was amazing. Rather than just a bike ride I felt this was a cultural trip, allowing us to ask questions about local traditions and customs. We loved it so much and were so engrossed we didn't take many photos but enjoyed it all. Highly recommend, professional business.
This was a great experience, with a very good guide. Roads were quiet mostly and felt very safe. The bike is good, and the distance was about right for me as an over-60 rider. Wonderful to get out in the countryside.
Great bike tour. The whole family had a fabulous time. Leader made sure we all stayed together and was very knowledgeable. Highly recommended.
This was the highlight of our stay in Chiang Mai. We had our 19 year old daughter who enjoyed it as well. Loved that it was a small group and we were away from all the crowded tourist areas and got to ride through gorgeous scenery. Loved the fried banana on side of road at one of the stops. The half day was just perfect!
Good bikes that were easy to use. Personal, knowledgeable and committed guide. We had the company owner as a guide. Nice and safe roads in a fantastic environment. Visited various attractions and received adequate information. Can really recommend this 3.5-4 hour tour.
We took a leisurely ride on a thick-tired e-Bike through the lush suburbs. There was plenty of shade, so it was comfortable even on hot days. The guide was polite and told us some fun stories.
Excellent fun ride with good guide. Only four customers on good bikes. Course was hilly in parts but not too challenging for most riders.
This tour highly exceeded our expectations, we were just hoping to go around town and get to know the place on our bikes but it was much more than that, we went up and down hills and mountains, rice fields, learned about the culture and ate good food, the service and hospitality were outstanding, visited temples and the nature was amazing
Cycling in the National Park on paved roads. Guide was knowledgeable and kind. It was a good experience. Bikes were easy to use and comfortable.
Had a wonderful morning on the bike ride. Our tour guide Hockey was very friendly and knowledgable on the tour. Ensured that we were comfortable with the ride and managing with pace. Was an extremely enjoyable ride and an amazing way to explore a different part of chiang mai. Highly recommend, was a highlight of our trip to chiang mai.
Loved this bike ride. Our guide Hockey was excellent. We saw some beautiful countryside and temples. Lunch was delicious. All a lot of fun.
Was great trying out these bikes and we were guided well. The trip, however, is largely busy roads with not a great deal to see.
Great guide. Excellent way to travel around and through the small villages. Delicious home cooked lunch after the ride. Thank you for a nice morning
It was great, picked up and dropped off at hotel. Bikes are big and maybe heavy for some. But I am small and it was okay for me. Some bike experience is to be recommended. Saw some country side, hilly but fine with e bikes. , guide good. Biked bout 40 k. We are couple in our 60s and managed fine. Lunch lovely, freshly cooked. Well organised.
Trip was changed from the afternoon to the morning due to the heat, quite sensible and route changed to follow the Ping River, a 42k ride. Plenty enough for this 68 year old!
Great friendly Ecycle tour! Thoroughly enjoyed our experience. Highly recommended 👍 well informed cycle guide. Fab lunch after our trip.
The owner happened to be our guide and we went through small hills and curves of road, with some stops en route, and to a temple where we walked up stairs to the viewpoint. During few stops along the way, the owner explained some history of the local place. He was very nice to wait because I was the slow one of the small group. At the end, had a home cooked lunch prepared for the group. I am recovering from food poison so I personally did not eat but lunch looked lovely. Overall, this is a pleasant way to spend a morning. Would recommend this tour to others.
This was an amazing experience. the bikes are super cool and easy to use, you can do as little or as much as you like. The guide was fantastic and are Very professional 5star experience. Thank you.
A mixed experience really. The bikes were good and the time cycling in the countryside was enjoyable, however there was a lot of time wasted during the pick up process, at the temple stop and after the lunch before being dropped back at our hotel. It was explained that the pick up would normally be quicker but it was basically our bad luck. Joost did provide good information on the tour regarding what we were seeing and the local culture which was interesting and gave a better understanding of the Thai people. After returning we were served a pleasant lunch but then sat around for a long time before the return to our hotel.
This bike trip was outstanding. Our guide Hockey was charming and funny and did a fantastic job leading us, and explaining various points of interest along the way. Neither my husband and I nor our friend had ever used e-bikes and the team explained how to work with them very well. It was a great time, can’t recommend it enough!
This is a tough hike / mountain bike for us older folks as we are closing in on 70. However, we enjoyed it a lot and the guides Denie and Tony were great and fine with our pace which was a bit slower than the younger riders. Lunch was in a lovely spot up in the hills in a Thai Mountain village. We are road bikers and managed quite well but this is not an easy trail unless people are cyclists.
I hadn’t been on a bike in 2 years so was nervous how I would make out ~ the ride was very good, although hilly the assist with the e-bike was perfect. Riding thru the countryside was amazing and I highly recommend the tour. My only negative takeaway was that I’m a 5’3” woman, 58 years old with some hip flexibility issues, so getting on and off the bike was challenging, as the bikes were too high for my frame, by this end of the ride, I was unable to lift my tired legs over the high bar on the bike, so I had some tip-overs getting off ~ I’d sure like to see the bike company get some smaller bikes for us shorter gals.
Great. So much fun. Very safe and professional. Saw how the Thai people live and worship . Guide was great. One of our best excursions.
