PT is an amazing guide. She is super knowledgeable and friendly. Tried a lot of local foods and it’s something we wouldn’t do ourselves going to these local night markets because how intimidating it can get.

Last night my husband and I did the evening food tour with Pt. The tour was excellent. She took us through some very interesting markets and restaurants. The food was so good. She also told us a bit of the history of Chiang Mai. I highly recommend doing this tour.
We did not get to actually do this tour. A mistake happened, but the company issued a full refund. While I cannot speak to the tour itself, the company has very prompt and good customer service.
Great food tour for a group of 6! Our Vegan family members were very confident with PT checking all ingredients with all stall holders. Getting this care without speaking Thai would be very difficult. Our guide PT was amazing, blending culture, food and seamless conversation. The restaurant for dinner is a hidden gem! Ask for PT when booking!
Amazing, knowledgeable guide Nancy look us around the local markets, temples and food stalls including Michelin star food. Food was delicious and while there was so much to eat, was able to take some home to have later. Would recommend for couples, family's and solo travellers. A bit of walking but took a tuk tuk for the longer leg which was a good option on a hot day. Would have liked to try some more diverse food options but only so much you can eat in a few hours.
Loved it… PT was a local, shared tons of info, just a nice person! As for the tour, saw lots …ate lots. It was more food than anyone could ever eat… so much variety with good background to each dish. Would highly recommend this tour!
Oh my gosh, all I can say is the customer service from the Chiang Mai Foodie Tours team helped make a stressful situation less so. I had booked my tour with them directly. Then the super fun winter storm of 2026 hit half of the States and my flight was delayed by 24hrs which would cause me to miss all of the tours I had booked in Chiang Mai, including this one. I knew the terms and conditions of their cancellation policy and was happy to just write it off as a loss to respect their company. Imagine my surprise when they still refunded me the full amount while I was stuck at the airport. That would be 6 stars in my viewpoint as they went above and beyond.
What a great tour! We met our guide in Warorot market, a 3-story indoor market filled with clothing, souvenirs, produce, and, of course, FOOD! Our first tastings were a combination of delicious fruit and prepared foods: Thai sausage, fermented ground pork, & Khao Niew Tua Dum (Sticky Rice with Black Beans in Coconut Milk). After the market, we went to a "proper" restaurant where we ate four different dishes, from vegetarian to larb to pork stew. Thank goodness we shared each portion family style... there was SO much delicious food! Our final stop was a night bazaar near the north gate. We shared 2 more savory dishes (including stir-fried noodles) plus 3 desserts. In all, I think I counted 17 or 18 bites! We loved every minute of our tour, and felt like we really had a thorough sampling of so many Thai flavors. Thank you!
We thoroughly enjoyed our food tour without guide PT. We were able to try a lot of traditional northern Thai foods that I am sure we would not have tried on our own. We started in Warorot market & sampled different & interesting fruits & Thai tea. Afterwards we went to a traditional Thai restaurant & tried several main dishes, then to the northern gate market to try several more main dishes & have dessert. The portions were very large. We had to pace ourselves but thankfully, PT took us on some sightseeing tours in between places to give us short breaks between tastings. We loved it. We highly recommend this tour if you’re wanting to experience true Thai culture.
We had an amazing food tour with PT, our delightful guide from Chiang Mai Foodies. We learned a lot about the food, culture and people of Lanna/Northern Thailand. We ate SO much! More than 15 items from the Wararot Market, a local restaurant specializing in Northern Thai dishes, and the night food market. She had a plan in mind, but easily adapted based on our interests and the availability of items in the different stalls.
We had a wonderful time learning about Northern Thai cuisine! We ended up having a couple of our fav dishes during this tour in the 3 weeks we've been in Thailand. Our guide spoke great English and she was very polite. A fun day and adventure! Highly recommend.
Pp is a great guide that knows absolutely everything about the city's food and culture, I took the evening tour and tried more than 10 exceptional dishes across town. Very recommend, come hungry!
Loved our tour. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable. The tour was paced perfectly. The food was amazing. Don’t eat beforehand because they are very generous with the amount you eat.
I took the evening foodie tour and it was one of the highlights of my trip to Thailand. We visited a covered market, a restaurant, and a street-food market. PT is an excellent guide, and speaks very good English. She explained about the specific food items that we ate, but also about the wider Thai eating-culture and approach to food. What I liked best about this tour was the opportunity to try items that I would have been daunted to buy for myself. One hundred percent recommend this tour. I also suggest booking it early in your trip if possible, to get the most benefit.
This was the best tour I have ever been on. Our tour guide PT was kind, attentive, and informative. I learned so much about Thai culture on this trip. We gorged ourselves on excellent foods and were transported all around Chiang Mai. Our favorite part was ending at the market with dessert and Thai tea. PT bought us roses because it was our honeymoon. Book this trip!
It is a nice experience, our guide PT is informative, friendly. I learn more about the Thai food and culture, especially Northern Thai culture!
Top notch food tour. We had a great time and appreciated all the authentic food options in addition to all the local history. Make sure to pace yourself--they go to quite a few places and there is a lot of food. Our guide PT was terrific. She was friendly, fun, and knowledgable. I've gone on food tours all over the world and this was one of the best. Highly recommend!
This was a brilliant tour (although there was some confusion as to the meet point, seems tours starting at different times start in different places - anyway we caught up in the end but other travellers should be aware and double check). We visited indoor markets, outdoor street stalls and a tiny restaurant which felt so personal as if we were dining with a local family. And the culture and history of Thailand and Chiang Mai were woven into the tour too. Despite a food allergy I was well looked after and the tour guide ensured everything was safe for me. Highly recommended
Excellent informative tour with our tour guide, Sky. She educated us on the variety of spices and ingredients of Thai cooking and took us shopping at the local marketplace. Then went back to the cooking school and taught us how to prepare the raw ingredients, mix the slices and cook each dish. I was pleasantly surprised that I cooked a descent Thai meal in spite of not knowing how to cook at home. This tour has inspired me to try some of these recipes when we get home. Thumbs up for this tour.
We had a blast with PT and Po on our food tour. We ate so many great things and learned so much about the food and culture of Chiang Mai. We can’t recommend this tour enough!
We had an absolutely amazing food/history tour with PT. Her knowledge of the food culture as well as the history of Thailand and Chiang Mai was very impressive. We went with another couple and it was just us 4 which was really great because we had some flexibility on our stops and food choices. PT took us to restaurants and markets that locals eat at and ordered us some local dishes. We tried so many fruits we never see in the states. She also gave us recommendations for dinner and shopping hints. As much fun and informative the tour was the crown jewel was learning about how it all started and how the owner is instrumental in improving so many lives (can’t give away specifics, take the tour and hear for yourself). Highly recommend. Thank you PT for sharing your time and life with us.
Fantastic food tour! Even though we did a food tour in Bangkok, we decided to do one in Chian Mai as well. That was a good decision because the food in northern Thailand is different from Bangkok. Every dish we had was new to us with different flavors.
Just completed this evening tour with PT definitely a 5star experience. We travelled to a number of different places including local markets, michelin restaurant and a night market and tried a huge number of fruits, drinks, desserts and northern Thai dishes. PT was considerate, spoke exceptional English and was very knowledgeable on local history and gave us a number of recommendations for other activities. We couldn't recommend this tour more highly.
What a wonderful way to see Chiang Mai and gain an appreciation for the culinary and cultural differences. Our guide was knowledgeable and so friendly. We really appreciated the care she provided us and being able to sample the sights and sounds if the different markets.
My husband and I did the morning tour with PT as our guide and one other traveler. Thoroughly enjoyed it. PT provided an overview of the fruit, vegetable and general markets, restaurant dishes, and more. We sampled a fruits uncommon in our countries including a durian. PT has a lovely way about her. We enjoyed learning about the food and about her life in Chiang Mai. Recommended for anyone new to Thailand!
We really enjoyed this evening out. We got to explore a new part of Chiang Mai along the way. And each food stop was delicious! Definitely recommend this as a great way to get dinner!
Excellent tour. Really flexible guide who managed our family being 30 mins late (do check your start point for the 4pm tour as it isn't the same as the 9am one!!) and a family with very young kids. We ate really diverse variety of foods and the host ensured all dietary requirements met, she amended the menu as we all wanted to try duck as well!! All in all 5* from start to finish.
Not a great experience. I was expecting a better itinerary to try out local Thai cuisine that was not easily available at night market. We went to the market to try sticky rice, spicy sausages, etc. had a milk tea, then went to a restaurant and had some simple dishes and then to a night street market to try some food and for a family of 3, we shared a portion of each dish. I think its not worth paying SGD 150 plus for the experience and it's something I could have managed on my own without a food tour.
Go hungry. Very great way to learn more about Thai food and the history of Chiang Mai. PT was an amazing tour date and very knowledgable. We went to a Michelin star restaurant for Khao Soi which was unexpected but sooooo yummy. I loved getting to try fresh fruit from the markets, like Mangosteen and Durian. I loved walking around and learning about the temples and the art in the temples.
I had the most amazing experience! Not only was it a culinary experience it was a cultural experience. We were able to do food samplings from one of the largest markets in Chiang Mai as well as go to multiple restaurants to taste of variety of food. I appreciated that we were able to experience the food in multiple areas. The tour leader, Pondtip was knowledgeable, attentive to our needs, and a wonderful guide!
Firstly, 5/5 for our guide, Mui, who was great - knowledgeable and engaging - and the food, which was delicious of course! But I can't give it 5/5 overall as we didn't enjoy the set-up as much as we have done for previous food tours: others we've done have been street food based, whereas a big part of this was at a restaurant, and I've also tended to go for walking tours, but this included quite a few songtheaw trips. That was all clear in the description and seems to be the style in Chiang Mai, so I'm not complaining, but it just wasn't quite right for us. Still a solid 4/5 though!
Great tour guide, the restaurant dishes were amazing as was the final market dishes. Just a lovely intro to Chiang Mai food and culture
I did the 4pm version of the tour with the night market. Even though I had done 2 food tours in Bangkok, this tour had all new food for me to try.The guides were knowledgeable and spoke great English. And when I showed them what I had eaten already they suggested alternatives so I could try new foods. I believe my favorite had to be Khao Lam, but all of it was very tasty. So much food, that I ended up needing to bring some of it home instead. Would recommend.
This was the highlight of our trip to Chiang Mai! Best way to get an authentic feel for the culture and food of Northern Thailand. My partner and I had the most amazing evening on this tour experiencing Northern Thai bites at a local market, TukTuk ride across town to a DELICIOUS restaurant, visit to a stunning temple, and tasting our way through the night market. Our guide PT was wonderful and we’re so lucky to have shared this evening with her. Thank you PT for sharing the cuisine and history of your region with us!! Everything was delicious, come hungry!! We are foodies and have done street food tours across Europe, Asia, and the Americas and this evening in Chiang Mai was a standout!
PT was wonderful… we enjoyed touring the market, trying new foods and exploring Chiang Mai. She easily accommodated our large group of 9, along with vegetarian diet needs. She was thoughtful and attentive, and personalized the tour to us. This was a great tour to do at the beginning of our trip, to better understand new foods and how to navigate the markets. Highly recommend!
An amazingly good restaurant near the Station in Arras. Fantastic food, amazingly good staff, marvellous ambiance. What else can I say?
Have just come back from the evening Foodie Tour with PT. Due to a group cancellation it ended up being a private tour which was great. She met me as planned, took me to many places and tried lots of dishes, she also gave me the option to try other things. I was so full at the end, it was a great night.
Excellent food tour around Chiang Mai with PT. I got to try a bunch of things I've never had before, understand more about the ones i had and learn more about Chiang Mai and Northern Thailand in the process. Weather was less than ideal, but that was no issue - PT had everything organised and adjusted to suit. I happened to be the only one on the tour so ended with some leftovers to take back to my hotel. Would absolutely recommend this tour - great food and a chance to see parts of Chiang Mai that you might otherwise miss.
PT, our Tour guide was amazing! She showed us really great local food spots, my favorite was the Isan style sausage street food. We got around the area quite easily and ate so much food until we couldn’t eat anymore. Learned a lot about the history of the area as well. Would highly recommend this tour!
This was the Highlight of our stay in the old city area of Chiang Mai. Met PT and was an excellent evening of food, local culture, great experiences and true Thai exposure. The guide was just wonderful. made use feel comfortable in a unique setting and would do it again without question. she had wonderful explanation of the how and why of local foods and local people. Highly recommend.
PT was such a great food tour guide! Not only did I learn a lot about Thai food but I also learned a lot about the history of Chiang Mai. PT was also so friendly and welcoming. I definitely felt very full at the end of this tour, it was a good selection of authentic Thai dishes from places locals actually eat at! PT was also very considerate about the spice levels and comfort levels of trying new foods. Overall a really great experience!
Our tour guide PT was amazing and the food tour was definitely fun coz we got to experience the street foods that only available in Chiang Mai. But I think it’s expensive for the food tour coz we only went like 4places and most of us in tour group couldn’t even finish our food towards the end of the tour. And the tour didn’t even offer hotel pick up/ drop off service. So to pay $70 USD for the food tour, definitely not worth the money.
Our tour with Pim was amazing! We started in the local markets with Thai tea and a few snacks at various stalls. We went to a super good, authentic “locals” restaurant and had dishes we had never seen before. Ended with one more meal at a street stall. All of it was delicious. Pim was friendly and fun and took pictures for us freely.
PT was an exceptional tour guide! The market tour was great. All the food was delicious. Come with a huge appetite!!! We recommend 100%
Great experience with our tour guide, PT! This was a great way to spend a morning in Chiang Mai. We did this tour early in our trip to Chiang Mai and it was an excellent way to orient ourselves in the city and see some initial tourist sites while also tasting a great variety of foods. PT was very informative and both PT and her intern (can't recall her name, unfortunately) had a great grasp of the English language, which was helpful of course. All of the various food stops were great and we enjoyed every bite! We ran into PT as she led another tour the next day and she was so sweet! We would recommend bringing some small bills or change if you want water or anything during your walk - everything food-wise is included and we did tip our tour guide, but you could also buy other food or drinks or souvenirs if you brought extra baht.
My husband and I absolutely loved this tour. Beautiful food, lovely tour guide. We had an awesome 4 hours. Thank you :)
ATTENTION! Having foodie tour with Chiang Mai Foodie Tours MUST be in your must-do list if you’re in (or you're going to) Chiang Mai! I’m not kidding, it, literally, a MUST-DO stuff.
