The hike was short and fairly easy, especially if you’ve hiked before. The loop is only 2.1 miles, although a few people in our group turned back, so it may be challenging if you’re not used to hiking. We visited in early November, and the trail was still wet from the rain. Unfortunately, we didn’t get the views we hoped for, but it was still a fun experience. The pagodas were amazing, and the waterfall was beautiful. Our guide, Yo-yo, and driver, Top, were both fantastic. Although the tour is listed as 11 hours, keep in mind that about four hours are spent driving around, with roughly two hours each way from Chiang Mai. Overall, it was a great day trip!

Excellent tour that included 2 Pagodas and the NP! Both were beautiful. The hike is a moderate difficulty with significant stairs to climb the mountain so be prepared. There are stretches with soil and mud so hiking shoes are recommended. Bring water and snacks eventhough the van stops both coming and going.
This was my third time making this exact tour! The nature is stunningly beautiful and i never get tired of it! This time around some of the group speedwalked through the hike and me and my short legs, trying to take some pictures along the way got left behind which was absolutely no problem as one the local Karen guides that came with us, a lovely lady named Gaw, made sure me and some other slower walkers were save and sound! Our guide Shin always had all the Infos to the different places we visited and gave us ample time to explore! Can recommend, will probably do again when I get the chance! Oh and buy a scarf at the Karen village, fabulous quality and so beautifully handmade by the village ladies!
Such a memorable day☺️. The jungle trek and waterfalls were amazing, the guides are really lovely and knowledgeable. I loved the final visit where we tried different teas from the region. Would 100% recommend if you enjoy nature. Even though we had no view at the final temples as it was really cloudy, the day was still worth it. If you can, do try to book it on a day where the sky is going to be clear.
i love the way the tour is planned
My favorite activity during my visit to Thailand. Hike was great and we learned a lot about animals unique to the area. The temples at the top were so beautiful and I’ve never seen anything like it. Long day but so worth it!
A wonderful relaxed hike with lots of added extras including temples and lunch. Well led by our engaging guide
Great day with Daniel. We had a fun group and great time! Despite the rain we saw the pagodas and made the most of it
Amazing experience! Great tour guide. Organized pick up and we had plenty of time at each stop. Solo traveler friendly!
Beautiful area, beautiful people but a lot of hours in a van for a 2 hour trek. Glad to help out the local people at their markets.
Yo-Yo was a great tour guide. He was funny and gave us so much information. There are a lot of tours that do these same spots, but I will say no one I spoke to later that did a similar tour knew anything of the history of the area like I did after spending the day with Yo-Yo. Our group was 9 people and it was a good size. It is cool there in the mornings! Wear full length leggings and bring a light jacket you will be surprised that you will need it (March 26)
Nice tour with good food at lunch, good tour guide YOYO, we went on good day with nice weather and love doi inthanon.
A fabulous day out, our guide mett was really informative and friendly. The trek was a bit like a hitt class, wear trainers. The views were beautiful though and worth it.
This tour included visits to the Grand Pagoda Nabhapolbhumisiri. Very impressive! There was a hike to the best view point, and afterwards the peak of the mountain Doi Inthanon. Amazing views and a great hike. Lots of nature to observe as well. Also a local market, lunch in a local restaurant. A visit to the Tribe of Karen who produce coffee and traditional clothing. The final stop was the impressive Watchirathan Waterfall, before returning to Chiang Mai city centre. Our guide Chin was highly knowledgeable, courteous, and professional. I highly recommend this excursion. *A reasonable fitness level is required for the mountain hike 😀
Our guide, Matt, was friendly and had a good sense of humor. He explained the park and related stops well. It would have been nice to learn more about what we saw during the long drive to the park…crops, scenery, etc. The food was good. We are taller people and found the van to have limited leg room for such a long day of riding.
We had an amazing time today, New, our guide was very kind and knowledgeable about the different locations we visited. We had so many different experiences, would highly recommend this experience!
This was a wonderful day trip and a great way to experience nature and see the highest point in Thailand. Doi Inthanon National Park offers beautiful scenery from waterfalls and mountain views to temples and cool, fresh air. Our tour guide, Paul, was excellent—knowledgeable, well organized, and easy to spend the day with. Our trekking guide was also fantastic. The pacing of the day was well balanced, with enough time to take in the scenery and enjoy being outdoors. Overall, a refreshing escape from the city and a memorable way to spend a day surrounded by nature. Highly recommended if you want a scenic, well-run trip to one of Thailand’s most beautiful national parks.
Hike is a little tough but rewarding. Definitely bring a light jacket. YoYo was a great tour guide. Great experience
Nice full-day visit to the National Park. Our guide Reena did a great job keeping us together and on track throughout the day. Walking around the waterfall was a nice way to end the day.
The day is packed. By the end most of the group was tired enough not to do any shopping. Lunch was good and they were very proactive for food allergies.
Fantastic experience! The trekking, however, was not ”easy” as stated - it was quite tough and even the young and healthy ppl were somewhat exhausted. Nevertheless our guide was superior!
Lovely guide, she was the best guide ever, professional, experience, telling of history of the places we visited. We will do it more.
The guide told us a lot about Thailand - not only the nationalpark but also Thailand´s history and some politics nowadays. The hike was nice, not too difficult, but real hiking. It was a mix of stopps: a waterfall, the hike, the twin pagods as well as our lunch spot with a local market and another local village where we tried local tea and coffee.
The 2 hour trek was in a National Park so a real chance to be in the natural environment with wonderful views from the top. The path and stairs were well maintained but we were glad ( good walkers aged75) that we brought walking poles as the first section is a bit steep. Bamboo poles were available and the walk well managed. We visited the highest point in Thailand and a beautiful waterfall. Lunch was delicious.
A great tour of Doi Inthanon which mixed some activity (a short hike) with scenic views and culture.
I loved the whole day! The pagoda’s are beautiful, the hike was very peaceful but some parts weren’t very easy for some people. When you get to the top, it is al worth it tho! The lunch we had was very delicious, it’s like a buffet and they fill up plates when something runs out. All the other stuff was also very nice. We had a great guide as well, Cat. She made sure everyone was comfortable and had a lot of knowledge.
A great day out - very well organised which allowed us to pack a lot into the trip (without feeling rushed). Friendly and knowledgeable guide.
It was very crowded, and we were in a group with people all coming from the same country, so we were the only ones from another. The guide was very nice and enthusiastic, which is what makes it three stars. The nature was beautiful as well.
Completed this trek, just a couple of days back. It was really worth it!! The jungle walk and the hike to the top of the mountain was very beautiful. The trek was not at all difficult, just a few elevation for very shorter period. A person with average fitness can also complete this trek and tour. Go for it, without any second thoughts!!
It was a well organised and whole enjoyable tour. The hiking was quite moderate, a bit of up and down and up again etc. The guide Matt, was knowledgeable and conscientious and made sure he had as many of the group a s he started with. (always a plus😁). Lunch was well received, simple, nutritious, tasty and filling; as much as you wanted. The visit to the local Karen people was quite enlightening and they have a good commercial business with their homemade wares, inc. caoffee, tea woven clothing and household articles. The waterfall was spectacular and a fitting finale ti a great day out
It was fantastic. Dada and Dan were great. Would recommend to anyone. The hike was beautiful and easy.
Would recommend highly. Great day out with a relatively moderate hike, fabulous views, a visit to the spectacular twin pagodas of the former queen and king. In addition a simple, but extremely delicious lunch, with as much as you wanted, delivered straight to your table. Capped by a visit to Wachirathan waterfall, flowing in all its glory. Returned home tired, but delighted by the days events.
This trip makes for a great day out at the national park. We got a good hike round Kew Mae Pai (you don't need to be super athletic, but the first hour or so is uphill and will get your heart going). Some wonderful photo opportunities up there if the weather is good! Then on to the royal pagodas, which I appreciated more than I thought I would, a quick market visit, a really nice lunch, and then a visit to a Karon village for coffee. Our guide Chin made the day run really smoothly, adjusting to the weather and other situations as we went along. Recommended.
This was a good day out, well organised and picked up from our hotel and the guide was great and informative. But I don't think it quite met our expectations. I know I am a tourist but it is very busy with multiple different trips and so many other tourists it takes away the charm of perhaps what you'd expect from a national park. You're all herded through the same route, and when you are driving to the highest peak you pass quite a few signs for other waterfalls etc which you don't stop at, they take you straight to the tourist bit highest part of Thailand. And again with multiple other groups all around it was quite underwhelming. Most of the trip seemed to be lots of waiting around for everyone to take photos and the guide to take photos, rather than actually keeping moving and seeing more. For the 2h hike it was only about 3km long, it was more challenging towards the end so felt like a bit of exercise, but if you like a proper hike, again lower your expectations. Lovely views but just following hundreds of other people does spoil it slightly. It is definitely a tourist hike, stopping every 5 minutes for the guide to show you a check point or tell you a piece of information and take photos, and depending on the people in your group you might end up waiting a while for slow walkers to catch up. The most impressive bit was the waterfall as the last stop which was stunning and made the trip worth it. The coffee village stop was good and liked trying the different drinks, especially interesting to try coffee shell tea and buy some coffee to take home, but again maybe another 4 groups crammed in at other tables and very very touristy. It's a good trip if you want a taster of what the park has to offer but expect it to be very busy, and not a peaceful national park visit. If you want to see it in more detail, I imagine the only way would be hire a car and drive it yourself, or private hire. Final note we went end of November and it was cold up there! Wear long trousers and bring a light jacket or jumper. If you want an alternative taste of the jungle I'd recommend a zipline day if you're not afraid of heights, much more immersive.
Tour was exactly as described! All parts of the tour were very close to one another, the only large chunk of driving was to reach the park initially. Guide was funny, nice and very organized! Highly recommend
A good tour, we really enjoyed the trek which wasn't too challenging but felt like we had had a walk. Sadly we were shrouded in cloud at the top so did not experience the views. The visit to the two pagodas was great too. The Karen village and lunch were not so great (food OK but nothing special) and there was a constant stream of tourists all doing the same thing - I realise there must be an arrangement with the local people but it did not feel very authentic. The waterfall was more impressive than I was expecting, so a good end to the day. Overall a good tour and would recommend.
The tour itself was immaculately organised from start to finish. Our tour guide New was amazing, and very insightful into the national park, and twin pagodas. She was very helpful and ensured we all had an amazing experience. I couldn't have asked for a better tour guide, as well as the tour itself showcasing the beautiful scenery of Northern Thailand! I would highly recommend this tour for those who want to see the beauty of the mountains, hike the forest & try the coffee in the village !
Well organized. Great sites and trekking. Goy was very friendly, positive and informative! A thoroughly enjoyable experience.
We enjoy this trip, have a lot of fund. The guide Son very nice, polite and helpful. The driver Rong very nice and good driver. We love them
Full day tour, very busy, with short stops along the way. Felt a bit rushed at times, with lots of other bus loads of tourists around
To get another day tour with Yo-yo? Sh… up and take my money! For the price we paid, we received a priceless experience. If you’re hesitating, you’re doing something wrong! You’ll get a full day (literally) of northern Thai culture, animated by a dope guide (at least our was - ask for Yo-yo to make sure).
Had a great time visiting Doi Inthanon, Wachirathan Waterfall, and a small local village. The scenery was stunning and the waterfall was super refreshing — you’ll definitely get wet, so bring a rain jacket and a change of clothes! A wonderful experience overall and highly recommend this tour.
Our tour guide was great! I really enjoyed the tour to the national park. The hike was beautiful and not at all challenging. 100% recommend!
A great tour to do while visiting Chiang Mai, different to other tours as you’re up in the mountains. Our highlights were the waterfall and the trek & coffee experience with the Karen people, felt very authentic compared to other experiences with the tribe. Our guide New was so good and attentive, great photographer ! Our only critique is the price is slightly high for what you get compared to our tours with similar amount of activities!
Nice tour and friendly guide. Picked up on time from the hotel and lunch was outstanding. Would definitely recommend.
Great day visiting the mts and national park, rainforest and highland village life. Great tour guide and driver, wonderful experience. Full day ended with night markets as it was a Saturday.
The hike was very picturesque and worth it. The top of the mountain was foggy and rainy so we could not see the pagodas clearly. The lunch was decent and the tour guide (Amy) and the driver did their best to keep us informed. The local guide for the trek was very sweet and tried very hard to inform us about the flora and fauna inspite of her limited English.
I got attached to a group from Korea, other than that , the trip was amazing. Great nature, Great Food.
Pickup was prompt/ in time. Your guide (Mit Mew) was great. Explained the itinerary in detail at start of tour. Gave good explanation for flora and animals in the jungle along the way. Kept the group moving. Offering to take questions all the time. We really enjoyed the hike. Got to see amazing waterfalls and Hmong villages. The lunch was delicious and fresh. Very organic tasting. Van ride was comfortable. I would highly recommend JOINUSTHAI tours.
Bring your own water! Activity description states water is provided, but you get one bottle at beginning and one small bottle with lunch. It is not enough water on a hot and humid walk through the jungle!! Other than that we had a great time. We live in a cool climate and the lack of water was an issue for us. Fortunately you can purchase bottled water at the lunch stop, unfortunately that is at the end of the hike.
