Seeing and being able to go into some Buddha temples and sites at night was special and beautiful. We learned some interesting background and insights. Several times, especially at the beginning of the tour, it was difficult to understand what was being explained. Mr. Saman willingly took photos of us at the key spots. The food at the food court in the nighttime street markets was excellent, flavorful food. There was no tour or commentary related to the street market.— just made a beeline to one of the food ares and bought us a dinner dish and dessert. Our start time was 6:30 PM and we were done at 9:30 PM and on our own to get back to the hotel.

Itinerary
Wat Phra Singh is one of the most famous and most attractive temples within the walled old city of Chiang Mai. The temple, which is also known as “The Monastery of the Lion Buddha” is an active temple, with many monks and novices living there. Wat Phra Singh dates back to the 14th century when Chiang Mai was the capital of the Lanna Kingdom, and is one of the finest examples of classic Lanna style temple architecture. **The duration included traveling time from the Meeting point to an attraction.
Wat Phan Tao is one of the oldest temples in Chiang Mai. The temple's first structures were built probably in the late 14th century. Located within the old walled city, just next to Wat Chedi Luang, Wat Phan Tao is well known for its exquisite Lanna-style 'viharn', the ordination hall, entirely made of teakwood on a stone base.
Wat Chedi Luang, also known as “The temple of the Great Stupa”, is an impressive temple ruin. The construction of the temple lasted from 1391 to 1475. Although the temple collapsed in 1545 due to an earthquake, it was for centuries the tallest building in Chiang Mai. The massive and very impressive chedi (pagoda) dominating the area is its most prominent feature. Wat Chedi Luang is also famous for once housing the Emerald Buddha, one of the most important religious relics in Thailand, which can now be found in the Wat Phra Kaew in Bangkok.
Just outside the old walled city center of Chiang Mai, Wat Lok Molee is one of the city’s older temples. The temple that is also known as the Wat Lok Molee houses one of the largest and most impressive chedis in Chiang Mai. The massive chedi was built in 1527 when it must have dominated the area. The chedi contains the ashes of several Kings of the Mengrai dynasty, who ruled the Lanna Kingdom from the end of the 13th century until 1558 when the Burmese invaded the Kingdom.
Chiang Mai Night Bazaar is the most famous market in Chiang Mai, and one of the top tourist attractions in the city. This night bazaar consists of street-side stalls selling mostly clothing and handicrafts. You will also find a wide range of (street)food and snacks at the market. It is here where we will enjoy a simple meal and a dessert. After that, it's time to say goodbye to your guide. You can take a tuk-tuk back to your hotel (not included) or further explore the Chiang Mai Night Bazaar on your own.

We had a wonderful time. Our guide was attentive, professional, and cared about our desires. We were extremely pleased with his narrative and his attention to detail. At the end of the tour, he helped us get a ride back to our hotel, which was greatly appreciated all in all everything went fine.
Great tour with Maggie, very informative, and seeing those temples at night was a much better experience than during the day ! The lighting puts them forward a lot better than natural light, and the temperatures were great ! A great tour, reccomend highly.
The guide was well versed in Thai culture and history. Very informative, interesting excursion! The temples are beautiful as the buddhist doctrine that the Thai people ascribe to !
We had an absolutely wonderful time on this tour!! The temples at night were beautiful and felt like a far more intimate experience, the tuk tuk ride was fun, and our guide Tu was exceptional!! So smart and with his history of 11 years as a monk, he truly invited us into the history of chiang mai and buddhism in northern thailand. We enjoyed the night market as well (one small hiccup was Tu initially accidentally walked away prior to paying the khao soi stand, but he came back quickly and it was not a problem!) I would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone visiting chiang mai.
1) the pick up location was at the gate across from Burger King that was sent via email was incorrect; it was at Burger King across from the gate 2) not a food tour- it is a night temple tour via TikTok 3) the tour guide kept saying she had a budget for food ( very hungry at 830 after visiting 3 temples.) she should have told us what the budget was and offered a desert other than mango and sticky rice ( like ice cream.) 3 of the 5 participants did not want mango and sticky rice and no alternative was offered ( I guess that increased her budget for the next group.) 3) after getting our dinner, she left. She should have stayed and offered cultural information and talk over dinner 4) no introduction of the participants at the start of the tour 5) information at each temple was adequate
Nice tourguide, Good information and good food
We enjoyed our tour with Tick very much! He was super informative and gave us a lot of knowledge that other wise we wouldn't get while being very friendly. Dinner at the end had great options
We had such a great time on the Chiang Mai Temples and Market Tuk Tuk Night Tour. The family and I found it so much fun, and it was a brilliant way to see some of Chiang Mai at night. Our guide Tik was absolutely awesome — friendly, knowledgeable and made the whole experience really enjoyable. He looked after us brilliantly and helped make the evening one we’ll remember. Would definitely recommend this tour to anyone visiting Chiang Mai. A great experience from start to finish! 🛺✨
Mr. Saman was my guide today. He was the perfect mix of funny, informative, and aware. Took plenty of breaks on the hike, even though I didn’t need it, others in our group did. Easy enough to understand and he was obviously passionate about teaching us something. Being from the area was a nice touch, he knew the wildlife and flora well. Sweet guy. Hike wasn’t that strenuous. Could be hard on your thighs a bit if older
Ammy was a fantastic guide. Very informative and knowledgeable as well as passionate. Brought the experience to life.
A nice nighttime journey for some local temples and market shopping, this is a good beginners tour to the city.
We had such a lovely time it was my partner and I plus one other person. The tour was at night so wasn’t as hot or busy. Our guide Tik was so lovely and knowledgeable. He spent plenty of time explaining everything and telling us all about the history. This tour was so worth it and reasonably priced.
This is a really nice tour if you’re into the religious background of Chiang Mai and temples. Personally just wanted a fun way to see the city and felt like this tour was not the right fit for my family and I. It focused solely on temples and religion. We went on the tour thinking it was short and sweet overview of Chiang Mai. After about 1.5 hours in temples, we were too hungry to go on. If you don’t buy a ticket, you’re basically just standing around too. Thankfully our tour guide was so gracious about leaving early and just going to the night market on our own. They even gave us some money that would have been used for the night market portion of the tour for desserts. Jane was an understanding tour guide but I personally wouldn’t recommend this tour unless you’re deeply into learning about Buddhism and Thai temples.
Great tour with a wonderful guide. A night of beautiful temples, culture, night market, and fun. Great group of people I got to meet on the tour and would highly recommend.
We went to several temples and a market. Maggie was our guide and she is what makes this tour so special. She is a very sweet person and has a passion for the Buddhism and Thailand. Thank you Maggie for being a part of our Thailand story and letting us get to know you and your culture.
Had a great experience, Saman was a great host. We learned a lot.
Nancy was a great tour guide! We really enjoyed learning from her. She was very knowledgeable and took the time to answer our questions and explain Thai culture. Riding in a tuk tuk was also great. Ended at the night bazaar where Nancy got us a dinner and dessert that was delicious! Would recommend this tour!
No doubt the best evening we have had in Thailand this year The tour guide was so knowledgeable and so kind, and fun. Such a lovely tour with a guide that made it rememberable
Nancy was wonderful explaining the history of Thailand and especially Chiang Mai. She brought the colorful history alive with proudness, knowledge and love. Add bonus is her great photos of me in her great city.
Great way to see the Temples at night. Our guide was very knowledgeable and made sure we all had the best experience 🙏✨
Jane was an amazing tour guide. Gave us lots of good info on the history of the temples and of Chiang Mai. Great food recommendation - the Khao Soi. Yum!
Excellent and informative tour. Temples were especially beautiful at night. Jane was exceptional! Highly recommend.
This tour was great and the more time I spent in Thailand speaking with other people, the more I realized it. My tour guide Saman is a lover of Buddhism and really wanted to teach me about the religion and practices. We went to many temples in Chiang Mai and he explained so much. I realized how helpful he was when I went to other temples in Thailand with other people and realized they didn't know what I had learned from this one tour. I don't think I appreciated it fully until afterwards. (I was very jetlagged, but he was so engaging). The food part of this tour is not the central part of this activity, but we did end up at the night market and I got my choice of food from several booths - all of it was great and he sat with me and explained the market to me. As is mentioned in this tour, they leave you at the market and you find your own transport home - which gave me time to explore on my own. The tuk tuk around town was great fun and the easiest way to get around from temple to temple. Please remember to dress respectfully. Thank you Saman!!
Tik was lovely, very knowledgeable and generous with his knowledge! The temples were beautiful at night and the night markets are so vibrant! Thank you Tik!
The guide was very knowledgeable and personable. The TukTuk can be a little unnerving in the traffic, but after a while you get used to it.
Chiang Mai is beautiful in the day but magical by night! The temples are basically deserted, you will have them all to yourself.
Jane was very very good! Very nice and interesting experience!
Saman was excellent! Very knowledgeable. Very kind and answered all our questions. Highly recommend!
Tik was very informative. Great time.
Jane was our tour leader & was a super lovely person, she was also very knowledgeable . Viator kept us informed about the whole process throughout.
Had great fun riding around in the tuk tuks. Jane was a wonderful guide and would definitely recommend to other families. Our daughter is homeschooled and learned a great deal in such a short time. Thanks so much
Jane was a fabulous tour guide. Appreciated the information about temples and the Buddhist religion. She was very accommodating and generous.
Really nice and knowledgeable guide that looks after all the details from praying method to food preferences. Goes far to please you. Good job.
Very good informative experience, learnt a lot from our guide.
Really good experience. Our guide Ata give us all explanation we need about Chiang Mai and thai culture.
A great trip, incredible temples. Jane was fantastic at explaining all the culture and religious meaning. I would recommend
Phenomenal tour. Ms. Jane was a very knowledgeable tour guide. Highly recommended!
Wonderful tour of the main temples and Sunday night market. Saman, our guide, was awesome, knew everyone at the stops, and was very knowledgeable. Traffic was light since it was Sunday and the weather was pleasant. About 2 and 1/2 hours of temple visits (3) and then a very tasty dinner at the night market. We got some chicken Pad thai and mango with sticky rice, delicious! Thank you Saman for a wonderful evening.
Amazing temples, great fun zipping about in the tuk tuk and a tasty meal to polish it off. Our guide did a great job, very knowledgeable.
Saman was wonderful! Definitely recommend! Visited 3 temples and then had dinner at a night market. 10 stars out of 10 stars!
Jane was extremely knowledgeable and attentive to the group. I loved seeing the temples at night when they weren’t so busy. The night market was busy but wonderful.
Jean/Jane was an excellent guide I’m glad I had her for both tours! I was able to do two tours one in the morning in the evening.
Saman Duangkhan was friendly and took care of us and shared a lot of stories and information. We took the 6:30 pm tour, which was great as the weather was very pleasant. Accent was difficult to understand sometimes but still a good experience. Topped it off with a tasty Thai dinner.
The most wonderful experience visiting these temples at night with Margaret. She made the whole experience beyond amazing and special and can only wholeheartedly recommend this tour. It felt like I got the special inside tour from a local—which is exactly what I love. The night market was beautiful clean filled with music and amazing. Margaret even shared gyozas and mango treats with me which i appreciated oh so much. Thank you for the special night Margaret—you are a Star. 🌟
I really enjoyed the tour, although it was quite short. Beautiful temples. Great guide. Delicious food at the night market.
Our guide was amazing we love to spend time with him. It was very nice his explecations. All the ride was very good peper also.
A much more spiritual experience than Bangkok, our guide, was so well informed on all things Buddhist and the temples he showed us were stunning. We finished the evening with tasty street food in one of the many night markets listening to an excellent band. Highly recommend this tour
Not as described trip in Tuk Tuk less than 3 hours. After an amazing holiday this was the first disappointment! Definitely not value for money. Only one market visited where we felt abandoned well out of the city and had to pay for own transport back. Good choice very limited to a couple of items on just 2 stalls!
Tik was very nice and had a good knowledge of Buddhism and the temples. It was very interesting, the ride on the tuk tuks was very fun and the last stop on the night market was a great way to end the tour with some very delicious food!
