Purichat was an EXCELLENT guide! Knowledgeable, funny, helpful and very patient. She knows so much about all we saw from the temples to the markets. I would encourage booking her on a Sunday night so you can experience the Sunday market. It’s huge — with so much look at.
We had the most wonderful time with Uthaiwan. She showed us around Chiang Mai and then brough us to the Night Market where she picked out some snacks for us to try. I would highly recommend using her for a tour around the city!!
The dinner was awful, food served right out of big pot. That’s not a meal being being cooked in front of us, never got the drink at the end of the trip. However , our guide was pleasant.
May was awesome! We missed the original tour day because of a delayed flight. She made alterations to see us the following night. She was patient and understanding with my 10 year old when we needed to make an unexpected shopping stop for shoes. Overall the tour was great. Great history of temples and Buddhism. Also great guide to markets and street food. Showed us amazing spots! Highly recommends
Our guide Ae was awesome. Great walking tour around the city. We felt like we were visiting a friend who was excited to show us her city. We chose to do the tour in the evening/night because it was so hot during the day. We really enjoyed ourselves.
My wife and I like to arrange a walking tour the first day or so in a new town. It usually gives us a good feel for the town and history of the area. Our tour guide, Wuthikorn, definitely exceeded all of our expectations. He was extremely knowledgeable, communicated clearly, personalized the tour for us and all around made it an enjoyable and informative time. We would highly recommend Wuthikorn and when we return to Chiang Mai would definitely spend time with him again.
Ratana began with clear communication leading up to our tour. She then helped me complete an unexpected errand before the store closed. We had engaging conversations, and she shared so much of her experiences and knowledge as we walked through the city/ate. I wish our time together was longer!! Thank you, Ratana, for helping make my Chiang Mai trip memorable!! ❤️
Seriously, i feel weird even writing a review because our day was not a service; it was just fantastic walk with a friend🤍 felt like we know each other for quite a good life time. Lot of perspective to Buddhism and philosophical aspect to Thai culture. History of seperated kingdoms with Chiang Mai different aspects of history and architecture of temples and pagodas. Hidden places in the evening chinatown and sneaking around flooded sandbags muddy alleys and bridges. a lot of suggestions to my next days in Thailand...and friend for a lifetime. : ) Thank you so much!:) and see you in Iceland!:))
Guide was knowledgeable, fun, and took us to places that suited our interests. Modified the tour to make it the best possible experience for us. She was wonderful!! Would highly recommend.
Fun tour guide who showed me the city as local would enjoy. Took me to an excellent restaurant in the water. The live band music was totally A+ and the food was super. Went to local market for trinkets. Got fish pedicure… fun! Thanks so much.
This was our second tour with Tanya because we had such a good time with her on the foodie tour a few years ago! She was punctual, already waiting when we arrived, and we started with a temple and ended with some yummy dessert. Along the way, Tanya gives recommendations/connects for anything you may be interested in doing or seeing in Chiang Mai. From Michelin-star restaurants to teaching us fun things (that are not available on the internet!), this tour had it all!
Tanya was so accommodating and fun. She tailored the experience to our needs and wants. She provided wonderful information about the culture and city. Would highly recommend!
Charin was excellent! He took us around the city center, some temples, night market and a restaurant to get a beer. He knows so much about the city and about everything in general! We enjoyed his tour and his company so much! We hope to see him again 😊
The best tour guide period. I cannot say enough about Wuthikorn (Boy). Funny, great stories, very knowledgeable and full of surprises. Being a local he was able to show great places, avoid the crowds and many amazing places to eat and drink. He made the tour outstanding with hidden treasures and secret places. Only take his tour. 10/10
We took this tour on our first full night in Chiang Mai. It was a great way to get acclimated to the city. Our guide led us through temples and explained the history of Thai Buddhism and culture. We ended at the night market. Guide was very knowledgeable and helpful.
This was a really great tour of temples and a night market! It was really cool to see everything at night vs the day. I highly recommend this tour.
A nice and informative evening. Great intro to Chiang Mai temples and city! Absolutely recommend a great time.
Our (my wife and I) guide was Tanya. We had an excellent time, learned a lot about the history and culture, got to know her a bit (she has an interesting background), learned some basics for eating here, and got some pointers for navigating around town. She knows a lot of history about the area and its culture and it was great to get an overview with all the things to see here. Tanya took time to point out local spots for services and products to support the community so we could come back to them ourselves later during our stay when we had more time. She provided an enjoyable evening for us, giving us plenty of ideas for more to do. I highly recommend the night tours because things look different from the day under the evening lighting and everyone locally is starting to go out, so you get to see a lot that you might not notice during the day. This is one of those you should book early if you’re going to spend a few days in town so you get the lay of the land for the rest of your stay.
Aei was wonderful. We learned so much from her. She was warm and welcoming. Customized the tour to ensure we got everything we wanted from it. Showed us some unique experiences and was incredibly knowledgeable. We loved every second and would highly encourage you to book this tour with Aei!
Purichat gave us a wonderful evening. It was so much more than a city highlights tour. She shared her knowledge of Buddhist life and philosophy with joy and respect. We tried regional foods we would have never even looked at - as she explained the different regional seasonings and flavors. Then we spent some time at a restaurant on the river enjoying conversation. We really felt like we were out with a friend instead of on a tour. Highly recommend!
This was a perfect tour to add to our honeymoon. As we did not have any local knowledge being from the UK, we had an amazing tour with Charin showing us around Chiang Mai. His knowledge is second to none and, his experience being a monk earlier in his life really provided us with a unique insight. I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see the temples at night followed by a trip around Chiang Mai and a visit to local markets.
I travelled to Thailand..Chiang Mai Summer 2023 looking for answers after spiritual awakening after long years of being sceptical and scientific. Before my trip I had an experience that made me realize I had to search my spritual journey through Buddhist teachings. Naphat percieved and saw me deep inside and as much as she could express with heart and mind she managed to create a deep soulfull tour in the most sacred spaces in Chiang Mai showing the way of meditation and mindfulness. She is special and pure gold. (Btw sorry for my english)
We went on our honeymoon and wanted to take a sites tour. Naphat was a great guide and offered recommendations of what else to see after our tour. She took us to many temples (remember to dress accordingly!) and we were also there for the Lantern Festival (Loi Krathong). There were special events going on that we got to see. We also added on a food tour where she took us to our favorite night market (we went back several times). Highly recommend to get your feet wet!
Charin was an incredibly knowledgeable guide and knew so much about the Buddhist culture. Be sure to ask him as many questions as you have because we learnt so much during our tour. We explored some local areas that aren’t prone to too many tourists, so that was already a great experience in itself. Highly recommend this tour if you are culture lovers!
Wuthikorn was very knowledgeable, friendly, and kind tour guide. He knows everything about the city and foods. He gave us lots of great tips and ideas. We also got to sample a lot of foods and learn about some of many temples. He was so nice of picking us up from our hotel for our convenience since we didn’t know our way around. We had a wonderful time with him. We are very happy to recommend him as your guide . We would certainly use him again if we come back yo Chiangmai Thailand.
We had an amazing time with our Guide Naphat. She had a deep understanding of the history of Thailand and Chiang Mai, was extremely friendly, and gave us great street food advice! I would recommend this tour to any first timer in Chiang Mai.
Loved my tour of Chiang Mai by night with Boy. The temples were so atmospheric without crowds. His knowledge of Chiang Mai and Buddhist history and culture is astonishing. Also got to eat delicious street food and chat with Boy like old friends. A great evening.
We had this trip on our very first day in Chiang Mai and it was a perfect introduction to buddhism and also set up an atmosphere that still follows us during our trip in Thailand. The visit in the meditation center felt very special, authentic experience. Charin explained a lot about buddhism and we could ask him freely. At the end he took us to the food market where he showed us delicious food. Charin, we are very thankful for the time spent with You, I wish You the best!
We had a great evening with Charin, such an insightful person, having done many tours of Buddhist temples throughout South-East Asia this was the first that really focussed on Buddhism itself and it’s teachings as well as showing us the highlights of Chiang-Mai. Charin took us to a meditation centre where we had the opportunity to join the monks (and novice nuns) in prayer. This was one of the most special experiences of our whole trip as it was off the tourist trail. We really enjoyed our time with Charin and would highly recommend to anyone visiting the area
I had a wonderful evening with Tanya. We visited a few temples, shopped a bit, ate some local food and talked about life in Chiang Mai. Tanya knew which places to visit and shared some interesting information. She is very pleasant company. Very enjoyable time! Thank you Tanya!
Boy (Wuthikorn) is a perfect guide. He showed us the temples of Chiang Mai, explained us the history, religion and culture. He is a really nice and friendly guide and I would definitely recommend this tour if you visit Chiang Mai.
Easy to use, quick reply, visited everywhere we wanted to go and more. Learned a lot about chiang mai and tasted some local foods.
I had an amazing time with Purichat on my first night in Chiang Mai! She took me to temples which were gorgeous at night and she educated me on Thai culture and history throughout the tour which I appreciated. The night market we visited was also fun and the Khao soi was delicious. The cat cafe she rook me to was also very fun and unique and I couldn't get enough of it! Because I was a solo traveller, Purichat also made sure I got home safe which I appreciated. I definitely recommend her for your next visit to Chiang Mai!
Ok first of all extremely hard to understand her English I do have an accent my self but we couldn’t understand half of any explanation, so we went to the meeting point at the lobby of a hotel and we meet this Mexican couple and we told them about our tour they want to join us so we said ask the tour guide when arrive and asked if you can join, so she arrived and it was a private tour so she said if we were ok she didn’t have any problem so we agreed, we did the temples which we couldn’t really understand anything then we walk to the night market and try insects, chicken skewers some fruit and a papaya salad which is the best, our guide was very nice I have to said very sweet, then her husband pick us up and we went to a restaurant to have a beer and talk for a while then they dropped the couple and then us and we tip them 400 baths which is a nice amount and the husband ask for more money for the other couple and I said excuse me we asked your wife to charge them and she said to us that it was a private tour so if we were ok she had no problem and we accepted he toiled the TIP and drove back to the hotel were the other couple were dropped and collected $30 extra dollars besides the $50 I already paid and the 400 baths I tip them Very disappointed I wish I didn’t spend my money on this tour it was my worse experience because everything else in Tailandia was a dream come true for me.
What a great little trip. Kawalin was an excellent guide & firstly took us to see a couple of temples explaining how old they were & the history of them. The most spectacular gold stupa was one of the highlights of the tour. We then went in to the local market where Kawalin introduced us to some local delicacies 2 types of Thai sausage & a flattened banana kebab!! We could have tried other delicacies but declined...... I think you can guess why, but they are there to try if you want to! Our next stop was a small meal of a curry of our choice which we sat & enjoyed in the market with all the hustle & bustle going on around us. Delicious 😋. Our last stop was a drink in the quirky ‘cat cafe’, where cats which cannot be looked after for some reason or another are taken in. Some are roaming around others are in large cages, but you can sit over looking the river enjoying a relaxing drink. Kawalin & her husband Ping are excellent hosts.
There was nothing magical about this tour. Our tour guide was a knowledgeable and very lovely lady who spoke English well. However, her accent was so heavy and non-English speech pattern made it near impossible to understand her. Tour guides we've had on other tours always have been excited about their cities and very upbeat, her affect was flat. We were 2 couples and the husbands became quickly upset and disengaged with the tour. The ticket promised meal and 1 beer per person. We got no beer after 2.5h and we had to purchase the majority of our food other than some snacks purchase by the tour guide. We toured an evening food market which was interesting but each time we asked her to provide us a sample of food we received a full-sized portion which we paid for. She should have had it prearranged with vendors that we were touring and would be sampling foods, small portions. We called the tour short at 2.5h as we were so frustrated with the experience. I contacted Viator who contacted the vendor to notify them of our experience. I was not looking for full reimbursement but some reimbursement for the no beer and food portion of the ticket would have been great. We paid $95 Canadian for 4 and have been offered $5 CAD to compensate us. 2-days later, we purchased a TukTuk ride for 3 hours and the driver provided us a great tour of Chiang Mai within the old city and the surrounding area as far out as the silk factory. He even acted as our photographer. We choose this tour because of its 5-star rating and previous reviews which we rely on. I am not sure if this tour guide was new. Overall, we were very disappointed in this tour experience and unfortunately, I have to give it a very low rating based on our experience.
Kawalin and her husband Ping were excellent . Prompt and very friendly and helpful . Booked through Trip Advisor though this is a With Locals private tour . Kawalin showed us several local temples and explained a lot about temple culture and the history of Chiang Mai . She then took us to Warorot market and gave us samples of street food before we ate a meal with her in the market .Explained about local foods . our final trip of the night was to Regina Restaurant which is a cat cafe / antique shop overlooking the Ping River . Kawalin and her husband then drove us back to our hotel . we didn't feel pressurised for time and Kawalin actually spent longer with us than the time we had been allocated . excellent value and excellent guide for a private tour .
This was a fantastic tour. Thanks to Mae, our tour guide, we were able to experience the wonderful old city of Chiang Mai and the beautiful temples and lively street markets. The sights were amazing, the smells and activity was amazing and we ended in this little cat Cafe enjoying a beer and talking for a good hour about the culture. This is an amazing tour, recommended for anyone who wants to get a great lay of the land.
Kawalin and her husband Ping were very prompt and kind. We had a fun evening of seeing some temples and other local sites. We went to the food market and tried lots of different foods; my husband even tried one of the grubs! We had the local sausage which was filled with lemon grass. It was so delicious! It was fun to try the local favorites of Chiang Mai, and Kawalin was very good at also finding vegetarian dishes for my daughter. We really ate well! We also did a little gift shopping. Kawalin helped us make our purchases. We went to a cat cafe. It was wonderful to sit with the cats in their kennel rooms. I had expected them to be loose in a cafe while we had tea or something, but it was still nice. We also bought a couple little things at this shop. At the end of the evening Kawalin and Ping dropped us back at our Airbnb which was very kind of them. I would definitely recommend an outing with Kawalin.
Kai is an excellent and charming tour guide . He knows a lot about Buddhism and Thai history. Highly recommend having any tour in Chiang Mai with him.
I had only one night in Chiang Mai. This was an informative tour with a pleasant guide. I got to see the highlights from the old city and learn a lot about its history. I experienced the local food at the night market. I highly recommend this tour to first time visitors.
We had a really great experience. Met with Purichat who took us to most beautiful Temples in Chiang Mai. We heard about history of the city and Buddhism. Than we moved to street market and to the river. Very good time spent with guide. Fully recommended. Felt cosy and comfortable.
Purichat met us at Wat Phra Singh temple where she told us a lot about the temple and the history. We then walked to another temple nearby as she continued to share with us the history of Chiang Mai. After the temple we took a red truck to the local night market and walked around, we tried delicious Koi Soi so yum! After we walked across the bridge and went to a restaurant sitting on the Ping restaurant, we sat with Purichat for about an hour chatting about life and having fun. We had a great evening with her and she speaks great English, would recommend!
Thank you Purichat for the lovely night, me and Alex enjoyed your company, the yummy tastings and the beer/music! Hope to see you one day in Germany!
I took an evening local tour with Minty and had a fantastic time! She was friendly and knowledgable about all of the places she took me! She knew the best places to stop for a photo (and even anticipated me wanting some), and found great street food. It was my first night on my first solo trip, so I was a little nervous and she really put me at ease. I mentioned to her that I had cats at home and she took me to a great cat café by the river. Overall an excellent evening!
My husband and I had a wonderful tour with Purichat. We especially enjoyed exploring the local market, local dining and bar. I highly recommend!
We booked an evening tour with May (Purichat). Her upfront communication was great and we met her close to the first temple (Wat Phra Singh) of which she knows a great deal and helped us understand a lot more about local culture and deepened our respect for Theravada Buddhism. Of course the temple is also magnificent and well worth the visit. During our quick walk to the more modest Wat Phan Tao temple we learnt a lot about the history of Thailand and the various old kingdoms from May. I had also asked for some specific local foods and it wasn't long after we arrived at the local market that we managed to get some of that, and also sat down for a great local curry (spicy, but was still OK for me). Our fantastic evening ended at a local bar where May presented us with delicious fruits we had never tried before (mangostine, lambutan) and local beer, overlooking the river and mesmerised by the light reflecting in the water and the sounds of live music drifting in. Thank you - we had a wonderful evening. I recommend this to all, as May will adapt the experience to your needs and preferences.
Aucun intérêt , long et sans consistance , à ne pas privilégier . Chuté sans intérêt , visite village et marché inutile, seul le temple est pas mal mais décevant car trop récent pas dans le style de ce que l’on voit.
