Enjoyed this so much! Very easy to navigate- once I’d downloaded the voicemap app, it was a really smooth process. We had an earbud each so we could listen to the tour as we walked along. You can pause any time you like - we stopped for drinks near the Eastgate Clock and even visited Sick To Death exhibit on the way round. Lovely route seeing lots of interesting parts of Chester and hearing the ghost stories along the way. Loved the fact we could do this at our own pace and fitted into our weekend. Just make sure your phone is well charged (mine ran out right at the end but thankfully had just finished the tour!) and use earbuds with Bluetooth if you can, rather than trying to hear the audio from the phone
We usually live self guided tours, but this one was disappointing. The facts themselves were very interesting but we missed the directions at many critical points as the app did not re-direct us, additionally the route at the cathedral does not exist so we had to go a different way. We also felt that huge gaps inbetween the information points was unhelpful, even a few words like, keep going, you are nearly there, would have been useful.
I thought I would try this as no ghost tours through the week. Myself and my family really enjoyed the audio ghost tour.
This was an excellent way to see Chester in a different way and I would definitely recommend doing this walk once the sun has gone down and there are less crowds
Really enjoyed this tour. It gave us some really interesting insights, was very atmospheric and a took us on a great route of the City. Thoroughly recommended!
Fascinating. I like the tale of sarah and the fact that you see so many distinct features and interesting places. Good tour easy to follow. Not sure if its just today but the gate down the side of the chapel was locked and shut.
I found this tour very interesting, the guide was informative. I also liked the fact you could stop and start it. Chester is a beautiful city to walk around and has history everywhere you look. The tour takes you to some interesting sites like the City wall
The tour guide was amazing, he really involved my daughter Cleo. We both really enjoyed the tour. It was very informative.
Very informative, and very easy to follow all instructions. Can pause if you need to. Really enjoyed the tour.
Excellent, well worth the money. The trip was fantastic. We went in the dark so is was a bit more of a spooky experience. Highly recommended.
It was very informative easy to follow instructions. And you can pause the instructions if you need to stop and it will pick up were you are
Clever technology. Good attention to detail and a little expedition around Chester. Our 14 and 16 yr old we’re not as enthralled as the adults. But they are a tricky customer these days :-)
My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed this little ghost tour. Something you can do at your own pace but it took us just over an hour and that was at a casual pace. It's amazing that you can be directed round the route and it knows when to give the info and even tells you that you are off the route (even though I wasn't but hey, the lost function is there). It would be good if more sites could be added, I'm sure there are lots of spooky goings on in Chester. We definitely recommend this tour and suggest using headphones due to the traffic /town noise.
A very informative, engaging and exciting tour. The instructions were clear and automatically stopped when we stopped for a drink. I would definitely recommend and would love to do it again at night.
Really good ghost trip which highlights some lovely features of Chester including the city walls - really enjoyable doing this in the light spring evening
Fantastic. Well worth the money . accurate directions easy to follow and throughly enjoyed it . It was a great way to discover Chester and see things you wouldn’t usually notice .
The tour was really good; it was a good walk round a city that we know well, pointing out information even about parts that we had seen many times, the Bear and Billet for example. We managed to lose track of where we were supposed to be on a couple of occasions. At the bottom of Northgate Street the instructions said to turn left when in fact the map was taking us right and then left down Bridge Street. The app helper soon told us we were going off piste and the on-screen map put us straight almost immediately. I would definitely recommend it, it definitely added to the day out.
Very good value for money. Very knowledgeable and entertaining commentary. Saw parts of Chester we would not of found by ourselves. Would highly recommend.
It was nice to be able to pick the tour up when we wanted to rather than having to do the tour in one go.
Very enjoyable, but it would have been nice if accessability issues were more prominent in the info, my wife struggled with the steps, she managed them but would have appreciated a head's up especially if doing the tour in the dark. Otherwise a brilliant tour very informative and enjoyable. Have recommended to my daughter for when she is in York
Great tour and very informative. Saw parts of Chester we probably wouldn’t have seen. Would definitely recommend.
