Itinerary
Start your adventure with a scenic drive from Chester to the Victorian seaside town of Llandudno. Stroll along its sand and pebbled beaches, wander its famous pier, and take in the stunning coastal views.
Next, cross the iconic Conwy Suspension Bridge into the walled town of Conwy, one of Britain’s best-preserved medieval towns.
Your journey continues to the historic walled town of Conwy, where you’ll have free time to explore. You may choose to visit Conwy Castle (additional cost), see the Smallest House in Britain on the marina, or walk along the medieval castle walls. This stop is also the perfect chance to enjoy a traditional Welsh lunch, and we recommend Fisherman’s Fish & Chips on the main high street.
The adventure continues as you journey into Snowdonia National Park, the second largest national park in the UK. In true BusyBus style, you’ll go off the beaten path and have the chance to spot native sheep and wild ponies before taking a short walk up the Ogwen Valley to capture some memorable photos. Many guests consider this the highlight of the day!
The tour then continues to the picturesque village of Betws-y-Coed, a perfect place to stretch your legs and explore. Here you can browse traditional shops, pick up souvenirs, and take a look at the old train station that adds to the village’s charm. It’s also an ideal stop to enjoy a refreshment — perhaps an ice cream on a warm day or a hot coffee when the weather is cooler.
The tour makes a stop at the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, one of Britain’s most remarkable feats of engineering and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This true icon of Welsh industrial heritage offers a chance for those feeling brave to walk across the aqueduct alongside kayaks and canal boats. Don’t miss the opportunity to capture a photo from the middle, with the River Dee flowing far beneath your feet.

Absolutely one of the best tours we’ve taken. Our guide Shelley was informative, fun and helpful along the way. I’m so glad we went with this tour. I don’t think we would have seen so many places on our own. These tours know the terrain and know how to get you in and out to see the sites.
Everything was very well organised and Alan was soo friendly and nice. We were held up by one passenger and he managed it very well and we got a quick trip to last stop squeezed on and bedtime was happy. Highly recommended
We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of North Wales with Tania. She had lots of great stories and was a very dynamic guide. The stops along the way provided a real variety. The views in the national park were stunning. Highly recommended.
Anne you made our day from Chester full off fun as soon as we boarded the bus the scenery was lovely and your chatter had us in stichers even when I had problems getting off the bus when the step decided to play up!!!!! Keep up the good work busy bus is lucky to have you the day could not have been better ❤
Perfect day out in North Wales with Adrian! We thoroughly enjoyed our tour today. Adrian was pleasant, polite and funny! Knowledgeable and answered everyone's questions. The timing of the stops were timed well, not too much, not too little. I would not have minded a bit more time in Llandudno, but that is me. The remainder of the stops were perfectly timed. The tour was very interesting to us Canadians who don't know much history of Wales. Adrian made it interesting, and with a few jokes thrown in. We prefer a smaller tour, and this one I believe had 16 tourists - just a perfect amount. If you are wondering about this tour - just book it - you won't be sorry you did! We would do it again! Adrian was a wonderful guide. I felt he gave us the opportunity to see as much as we could in the time we had. He valued every minute and we benefited from it. We had plenty of stops to explore and have time to ourselves. Fabulous tour. Thank you Adrian
Wonderful Landscapes. Wales are so underrated ! The guide and the driver, Ann and Paul, were great too !
Anthony was our driver .Excellent driver full of interesting information.Lovely guy especially when singing with us on the last bit of the journey.
A lot packed in to one day but very well organised.Anthony, the guide ,was great what a character! Beautiful scenery and historic landmarks.Well worth the money
Shout out to Shelly our guide , informative , funny and very professional. Outstanding place to visit the scenery in the Ogwen valley was spectacular would highly recommend
Was sold out online - very popular! so originally disappointed as my trip to Chester only consisted of 3full days (2evenings) and I’d fancy seeing North Wales. However emailed them and managed to get a last minute cancellation - was so excited. Walked up to the station (20mins from my hotel) and had breakfast whilst I waited for the trip to begin. The mini bus was on time and off we went. The lady driver (didn’t catch her name) was extremely knowledgeable and as I sat up front was a very curtesous driver to other drivers. Each stop was long enough although I think the last stop could have been a little longer. Great value for money, Busy Bus was easy to spot and I really enjoyed my day.
We loved every bit of seeing North Wales, it's incredibly beautiful and we are planning to go back some day and stay longer. The day we took part in the trip was really hot, over +30 C, and we think the air conditioning in the minibus didn't work properly. At some point our guide opened the bus windows and there was a nice breeze in the back of the bus where we were sitting, but then it was almost impossible to hear what the guide said and some people started to complain about the draft. I'm sure the number of heatwaves will increase in the future summers and I hope the AC in the bus will be improved. I also wondered why we were told to meet the guide at Chester railway station at 9.15 sharp; the bus was already half full and late when we entered it. Where did the other travellers get on the bus??
Adrian tried his best to keep a tough group of travelers entertained though out. Instructions for each stop are clear. Thanks !
You get to see a lot of different places in Wales, driver was super friendly and informative about the different areas. Truly a very nice experience.
Had a great day out on the North Wales trip..Frank out driver was excellent.
We had a lovely experience on this bus tour. The itinerary was well planned, taking us to several beautiful places with decent stops and enough time at each location to roam around, explore, and enjoy the surroundings without feeling rushed. Frank, our guide, was extremely competent, friendly, and knowledgeable throughout the trip. He created a fun and humorous atmosphere that kept everyone engaged and made the journey even more enjoyable!
Excellent tour. Great choice of stops - good variety. Timing was also good. (Helped that weather was excellent). The driver was brilliant often under very crowded road conditions. Highly recommend.
Ann was a wonderful guide in every way possible!
Great tour! Tour was paced perfectly. Great adventure in beautiful Wales!
Ann was a great guide. She continuously shared information as we drove throughout the day. Her timing for the activities at the various stops was perfect and pacing in general was wonderful!
Very much enjoyed it. Saw various sites of interest with no driving or hassle. Got up to speed on the bus then hopped off to see the sites. The guide Shelly was interesting and fun. Was impressed with the variety she used to keep it interesting.
After a late start , trip content provided a good taste of the area and what there is to see. Anne the driver/ guide tried her best to amuse a quiet bunch except for one participant who didn't stop chipping in the most inane loud remarks which all tried to ignore ( but on 16 seater what chance) except Anne bless her. A major concern was the driving. We are not Amazon parcels being delivered. One handed driving whilst drinking from a can and , for the most part, whilst not. ..Clipping kerbs. All acceleration and braking. As a PSV license holder, passenger safety and comfort fell short of what I would expect. Considered alighting mini bus at first stop to get the train back. Glad we didn't in the end because the content was worth the price but standard of driving not for the faint hearted.
Such an amazing day! We were unsure if this was something we were going to enjoy but I’m so glad we booked. A lovely tour of North Wales, seeing some beautiful spots. Our tour guide/driver for the day was the lovely Ann(e). Very knowledgeable and extremely funny. Some great tunes on the journey as well (as we did the Welsh tour all the songs were from Welsh singers/bands). I’d recommend taking raincoats because the weather can change quickly especially when you go into the valleys. The rain doesn’t spoil the day at all, you might not be able to get the best views but what you see is still breathtaking. The lunch stop was in Conwy lots of places to eat but we decided to use our time better and visit the castle (entry fee not included in tour). Well worth a visit! I’d suggest taking lunch with you so you don’t waste time eating out. The tour was well worth the money and lasts for 8 hours. A special thank you to Ann(e)! She made the day totally fab. (And yes I did find your selfie on my phone after 🤣).
An amazing tour with beautiful scenery and historical sights, enriched by the tour guide's fascinating stories and recommendations.
That was an great experience and sightseeing.
Was a fantastic trip my friend has been on this before and suggested to us to do the same trip there was five of us it was a laugh from start to finish with Lee very well acknowledgeable love the banter and the music a lot of effort has gone into making the trip special we'll definitely do it again
This tour was amazing! We got to see so many beautiful locations in one day and learn so much from our fabulous tour guide, Lee. He was incredible at driving and telling us the history of certain areas.
Excellent tour but Shelly the tour guide was the star of the tour. Places were beautiful despite the rain but her extensive commentary, sharing loads of information and humour made the trip extra memorable and sets it apart from other tours where that personal touch doesn’t exist. Would recommend to anyone looking to cover a lot of lovely sights but in a more personal way.
Our guide Shelly was amazing! I learned so much information and saw a variety of sceneries. I definitely recommend this day tour!
Shelly was a great guide - knowledgeable, accommodating, and friendly- Even though the weather wasn’t the greatest, we really enjoyed exploring and learning about North Wales. The map with Welsh words/info was very handy and the phone charging ports aboard the bus were convenient. Highly recommend~
We had the best day with Frank, who was an excellent and informative guide and kept the tour fun and interesting for everyone. The air conditioned bus was very comfortable and there was a good mix of stories/ commentary and music. The Welsh countryside was every bit as beautiful as we had hoped and this was a great way to take it all in. Take comfy shoes and rain jacket for exploring at each stop. I highly recommend this small group tour.
I had a great day seeing the sites of North Wales. The tour is a small group everyone kept to time and I felt the tour was good value for money. Highly recommended.
Worth every penny. I travelled to Chester by train and stayed across the lot from the station at The Queen hotel and that was the pickup point for the tour. Amazingly convenient. Our guide Shelley was top notch, the day was well-paced and the stops were grand. Highly recommend. Hope you get this guide!
Great way to experience the variety to N Wales. Loved the walks in Snowdonia and over the astounding aqueduct. What an engineering marvel. Appreciated the chance to get out and walk a bit frequently. Be prepared for rapidly changing weather. Adrian, our guide, was knowledgeable, witty, and played fun games with the passengers. I would prefer half the talking though, and less loud music. It clashed with the serenity of the countryside.
We had a super tour of North Wales with Joe. He kept us informed of history and factual information for all the stops. His driving was great and he kept us to time in each of the stops. What a nice guide. We felt we had a real flavour of North Wales and would like to revisit in the future.
Frank was a good guide and he helped us understand about the places we visited . He also shared interesting stories about the places and played good music during the tour . One feedback from my side , instead of the 30 mins in Llandudno, more time in Conwy castle would have been beneficial . Still enjoyed the tour, thanks for the wonderful service .
What an amazing day. It exceeded all of our expectation's. Joe our guide was so informative and kept us all entertained from the start to finish. The scenery was absolutely stunning. A lot of stops and history was packed into this tour. Lots of memories to take home. Thank you .
Beautiful places, awesome tour guide and nice team of various nationalities…..friendly Australians, Germans, American, Indians and Spaniards. Great experience all round. Shout out to Lee for making the ride fun, educating and entertaining. Thank you. Cheers!!!!
The spectacular scenery cannot be described. You must see it. Fascinating tour! Highly recommend! Lee is a trip.
Just amazing. The views and the driver were perfect!!! My 6- year old son and I had a wonderful day. Thank you busy bus! We’ll do it gain
Jerry, our tour guide was excellent. Wonderful commentary, a lot of information and humor, to keep the tour enjoyable. Beautiful area of Wales with a chance to wander around and explore. A much do!!!
It was one of the best one day trips I've ever experienced. Apart from the picturesque sceneries of Wales, this became one of the most pleasant experiences because of our tour guide. He was well versed in everything relevant and was very fun to hang out with. Throughout the journey his commentary of the sights made it more interesting. Well worthwhile for the money you pay. Highly recommended.
Had an amazing time on this day trip to North Wales. Shelly was our guide and was so knowledgeable, keeping us informed and entertained during our ride. The views were breathtakingly beautiful.
Our Wales tour was better than we could have imagined. Just enough sites, plenty of history and a great driver to get us back whilst we dozed after a very full day. Lee is phenomenal. The man knows his stuff, tells great ‘dad’ jokes and even pulled the wool over our eyes for a great laugh. I won the selfie contest and will proudly display my Busy Bus patch. Hope to return in the future. Lee said it best; this is an introduction to Wales to decide if you’d like to return to explore more. The answer is yes!!
Wonderful tour. Adrian was knowledgeable, humorous and attentive. I’d readily go with him again. He made the day for us.
Our Busy Bus tour guide Shelly was wonderfully knowledgeable and enjoyable to spend the day trip with!
Tour leader was good but as we had no choice but to sit on the back 4 seats, we were not able to see a lot of what was being talked about whilst driving. Also as 2 males and 2 females we found the back row seating very tight and uncomfortable. No option to rotate seats with other passengers was provided even when requested. We covered a lot of area and saw many sights, however due to inclement weather I feel the time spent in some stops should have been shortened and others lengthened to adjust to the weather conditions. My main issue with this tour though is the size of the bus which was on the small side considering that you are on it in cramped conditions all day.
It was the best tour I have ever taken. I didn’t know very much about Wales , and it’s beautiful. Our guide Garry took us on a spectacular journey
Fabulous tour of North Wales Fantastic driver Lee had great stories and music and kept us entertained the whole trip
