A large guest house with 10 rooms. Ideal for a stop over. Not told in advance that if you want a cooked breakfast you have to pay extra. We wanted continental so not too bad although it was a little basic.

Lovely staff very pleasant and nothing too much trouble. The gent that was on Friday7th and the young girl thursday 6th tea time need a massive well done amazing customer service. Thankyou . Not a 5 * I'd say more 3 to 4. Carpets throughout are stained and windows quite dirty bit of diy needed as a little tired. Its clean but not 5 star clean. Car park is very small hard to park. Breakfast was very nice but very misleading when booking it says pay for breakfast online but this is apparently for continental only which we didn't have so very confusing. There is an additional charge for anything cooked not stated when booking. Needs information changing. Plenty of tea and coffee in rooms an a biscuit treat, nice big comfy bed. Pillows are tired though and flat. Rooms are very warm at night little fan dosent cool it down any. Hairdryer, iron and toiletries provided. Nice tv & WiFi. Overall lovely stay but needs a little tlc. Was only ever one member of staff they were rushed off their feet. thankyou guys for a pleasant stay. 😃
Stone Villa is an Oasis in historic Chester, with spotless rooms, nutritious and delicious breakfasts, and friendly staff who take a real interest in helping you discover the best tourist activities of the area. Our room had remarkably comfy pillows and beds, and double paned coffee mugs to keep tea and coffee hot!
Where to begin... We stayed at Stone Villa for two nights over the weekend recently; to say it was disappointing would be an understatement. When we arrived there were two employees sat behind reception, neither of whom even stood up to greet us, and certainly didn't ask to help with our bags. The room itself was fine - clean, but very small. The stairs creak a lot and the whole building just seems like it needs a lick of paint truth be told. Breakfast - the food was decent, the service was appalling. Looked at me like I'd just invented fire when I ordered a hot chocolate, and said they would be unable to make a cappuccino for my girlfriend. Not exactly 5*. I don't know who or what provided them with this accreditation, but I have a few questions for them... This would all be minor if it was a 4*, but I have stayed in 4* hotels that are considerably nicer (and cheaper) than this was. I don't know how they can be labelled as a hotel when they don't even have a bar - a B&B or guesthouse would be more appropriate. On the Sunday, while watching telly in the room, the wifi went down. It remained off all night - still wasn't back up and running when we checked out the next day. No mention of it from the staff whatsoever. How do you not have a backup wifi in a 5* hotel? I was going to give this 2/5, but just writing this has pissed me off to be honest. 1*
Disappointing stay. Arrived at 7pm. Still light out. Yet, no one to greet us in reception. Only saw one staff member, but she didn’t greet us or gave us information. There was not hot water in the shower. And there was a dirty glass in the bathroom. We mentioned this to the one staff member we saw and she was incredibly defensive. Breakfast was disappointing, too. Overall, seems like management is absent and the staff members are left there without much training.
