Rooms are ok nothing special, the rooms are in desperate need of a update. Marks on head board and they have been like this for going on 3 years, leather ripped etc. the tvs aren’t smart TVs everything just feels abit dated. Spa facilities definitely need some attention. Not very clean and half of the facilities are out of order again this is nothing new on a previous visit it was the same. I gave it the benefit of doubt but seems like nothing has changed. The bar/restaurant is a welcoming place and the outdoor seating area is really nice overlooking the canal. However be careful what you order as the food is sub par along with draught larger dirty lines and can be tasted in the drinks. The breakfast is ok nothing special. Over all for the price it’s acceptable ,but it seems a shame because the location and the grounds of the hotel are beautiful and well maintained. Improvement definitely needed it could be something special.

Everything you could wish for. We arrived Saturday there was a wedding on , a bit noisy at night Eventually it went quite about 1am. When you book I would advise you to check on any events. But it was a wedding. Besides that the swimming, spa facilities were amazing the swimming included with hot tub, and saunas. The bar and restaurant were close to hotel entrance. We ordered room service all I can say the fish and chips were superb it came on a tray beautifully laid out .Hubby was in heaven , darts on TV with fish and chips. Staff were lovely. Thank you for a special stay.
Booked a night for my sister’s 65th birthday. It was a lovely surprise and we both really enjoyed it. Food was superb, staff were friendly and so helpful and the room and the spa were amazing. Just what we both needed after a stressful year. Will definitely be back.
A hugely disappointing experience. Sadly, what should have been a relaxing, luxurious spa day turned out to be an incredibly disappointing experience, and one that left us both feeling completely let down. From the moment we arrived, the welcome was cold and uninviting, with the reception area itself feeling freezing. Not ideal when you’re sitting around in a wet robe waiting for treatments. Throughout the spa, there were visible signs of mould and mildew in multiple areas, several facilities were out of order, and the general condition of the place felt dirty, dated and tired. It was far from the standard you would expect from a spa experience. One of the biggest frustrations was the hydro pool, arguably one of the main attractions of the spa. I spent the first 45 minutes of our visit asking staff to turn it on. I had to leave the spa to go back up to reception 3 times to even find a member of staff during this time and was STILL left waiting. When it was finally switched on, the main lights were left glaringly bright while the hydro pool lighting remained off. Hardly the relaxing atmosphere you come to a spa for. The door connecting the spa to the main pool was also constantly being left open, allowing cold draughts into the area and enabling non-spa users to wander in and out. There seemed to be very little control over this, which further took away from the peaceful, exclusive experience you would expect. The food included in our spa package was another major disappointment. What used to be a lovely buffet spread has apparently been replaced with a choice of just three tiny tapas-style dishes, with no complimentary drinks included. The restaurant seating area was equally tired, with visible mould along the window sills. Just ending our morning with more reasons to avoid in future. What makes this particularly disappointing is that this was once somewhere we associated with luxury and relaxation. It’s an experience I had been looking forward to for years, and the reality fell so far short of our expectations. Between the cleanliness issues, poorly maintained facilities, lack of attention from staff and disappointing food offering, the experience simply wasn’t worth the money or the time, and the Lion Quays spa no longer has a right to call itself luxurious and relaxing. We both left feeling extremely let down. It’s such a shame to see somewhere that used to be so lovely decline to this standard, but based on our experience, I wouldn’t return or recommend it in its current condition.
All I can say is wow, What an amazing place, stay and experience! Myself and my partner stayed here for 5 days at the beginning of October along with family. We had our wedding booked here for the 1st and we’ve been planning this with Sophie our wedding planner for the last year or so. It was more than we ever imagined, Everything went so smoothly and the team worked so hard to make our dreams come reality. Our wedding was perfect. I honestly could not fault a single thing, everybody has said just how incredible the day was and it was all thanks to the staff here. They were amazing from start to finish. We’ve stayed here many many times before and we still can’t get enough. We spent a few more days after enjoying being newly weds and we continued to be looked after. The spa manager and staff are amazing and made us feel so special. We always book in for a few treatments and always look forward to them, they’re so good! Dan and the restaurant staff were brilliant also. We honestly can’t thank everyone enough for their time and efforts. The rooms are great, the stay is relaxing and everyone is so friendly. Our favourite place.
