About Activity
Today’s activity focuses on China’s iconic Giant Panda and the pioneering conservation efforts safeguarding this beloved species. In Chengdu—the heart of Sichuan, where 70% of the fewer than 2,000 wild pandas reside—we visit the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. Founded in 1987, the center simulates a natural habitat and houses rescued pandas. Here, dedicated researchers share insights into their ongoing work to preserve both wild and captive populations.
