The experience was brilliant, informative and hassle free. We were pickup from our hotel first thing by our tour guide, drove to the pandas and then guided around. Our tour guide knew exactly where to look for the pandas and helped us navigate the crowd. After this we went to a restaurant near the giant Buda, it was perfectly timed and the food was good. Between the pandas and restaurant our guide gave us advice on the area, history on the region and the Giant Buda. Then it was time for the boat tour for the giant Buda, Its very hard to describe how surreal it is seeing the Buda, its a must see. After this we were drove back to our hotel. The tour was perfect for us. And I would highly recommend it to anyone.

This was a great experience. Sandy was amazing, so attentive of making sure our group was fine the whole way. She provided great knowledge during the day and would definitely recommend as a tour guide.
We had the pleasure of going to the Panda Base/Giant Base with our driver Mr Zhou and our guide Jacky. Jacky did an excellent job of making sure we were in the right place at the right time to capture the best photos at both sights. It is not easy to see both of these major tourist attractions in one day, but U2Panda made it possible for us and let us spend as much time at either attraction as we’d like. If navigating large crowds and getting great pictures/videos in extremely crowded tourist attractions is a priority to you, U2Panda is the way to go! I cannot recommend their services enough.
We had a wonderful time! Jacky is an amazing guide and made our experience unforgettable. Would highly recommend this tour to other travelers.
My son (17 yo) and I took this day trip with Daisy. She was an amazing guide. Telling us all about the Panda and Buddhist culture. We saw a lot of very active pandas then headed on the 2 hour drive to Leshan. It was such a smooth ride by our driver Mr Chow. The Buddha was amazing to see from the short ferry ride. Then we stopped for lunch on a good street in Leshan. Such a fun experience! Daisy also provided tips for after she dropped us in central Chengdu. A wonderful experience and so easy for us. Highly recommend this tour and Daisy as an exceptional guide!
We were very pleased with our guide, Abby. Her English is very good, she has good communication skills, and she goes above and beyond to make your trip enjoyable.
We had an amazing day doing this trip we were picked up from our hotel at the agreed time and taken into Chengdu to meet our guide. From there we headed off to the Panda Base where we had to queue for around 20 minutes to get in. Once inside we saw some Red Pandas first before going on and seeing 11 Giant Pandas it was an incredible experience. We were then taken to Leshan which took around 2 hours, first we stopped off at a lovely local restaurant for lunch which only cost 120 RMB. Before heading off to see the Giant Buddha which was truly amazing, we were then dropped back in Chengdu (at our request). Our guide and driver were great and we would recommend this tour.
Both locations were well worth the visit. Sophie was a great guide, good quality van and safe driver. The boat was the best option for seeing the giant Buddha
We had an amazing day! The pandas and Budda are not to be missed! Our guide, Abby, couldn’t have been better. She is so friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. We would definitely recommend!!
This tour was fantastic !! We were met on time in our hotel lobby by our wonderful guide, Abby. She was so warm and friendly from the very beginning, we felt perfectly at ease. Her wealth of knowledge about the pandas and the operation of the panda base was stunning. My wife and I learned a lot of new things about pandas and were happy to know they have such a place of importance in Chinese culture. Our driver, Chow, was also very friendly and provided excellent transportation. During our ride to Leshan, Abby provided an in-depth history of the Buddha and added some interesting anecdotes about the area. We had a wonderful lunch before the visit to the Buddha and she chose some excellent dishes for us to try. We strongly recommend U2panda for any tour from Chengdu, and particularly, Abby, the best tour guide ever. !!
Lois took us to the Chengdu panda base and we loved it. We went on a cool day in the morning so the pandas were very active! Lois knows a lot about pandas! After a great morning we took a 90 minute ride to the giant budha. A perfect restaurant for a tasty lunch, then a short boat ride to see the carved monument up close. A 90 minute drive home completed a full day. Thanks Lois!
One of my favourite days in China - I have lived here for 2 years. The panda sanctuary was great and to see them being looked after was amazing. We went in the morning and beat the huge crowds. Seeing the Leshan Giant Buddha was also magnificent- it truly is one of the seven wonders of China. Our tour guide Abby spoke better English than us and was incredibly helpful answering all our questions and giving us the facts about the two sites. I would recommend to everyone but go in the winter and in the morning!!!
We had a full day excursion to see the Panda base reserve and the Giant Buddha. Our guide, Abby, was punctual, kind, and provided us with all the information we needed covering both activities and general information about Chengdu and China. We also had a personal driver, who drove safely and was very nice. We highly recommend this excursion!
Our guide Wency was fantastic. We were the only 2 people on the trip so a car picked us us promptly at 730am and we headed out to see the pandas. Our driver had supplied us with bottled water and iced coffee which was a nice touch. It can get pretty crowded near the pandas even on a quiet day so be prepared to jostle for position when trying to take photos. Wency was very knowledgeable throughout and at the Panda centre we saw many pandas climbing trees, playing and eating. You need to go early as once they have eaten they just sleep. It’s is a beautiful area and very picturesque, be prepared for a good walk! From there we drove 2.5 hours to Leshan where we stopped for a dumpling lunch in the town before heading to the boat. It was a Monday and fairly quiet so there were no queues and we boarded quickly. We paid an extra 30 yen for a seat inside once on the boat, this is optional and they serve you tea or coffee in this price. We headed down the river to the Buddha which is spectacular, the biggest stone Buddha in the world. The boat stops for photos before returning back up the river the journey takes approximately 40 minutes. Our journey was by car so much quicker than if you were on a bus and waiting for others so we were very lucky. Wonderful day for us would highly recommend especially lovely Wency!
Chaotic and didn’t get the tour we paid for. Didn’t tell us they didn’t have the tickets until after 2.5 hour drive! No refund offered
Abby was a great tour guide and went above and beyond to ensure the trip was as much as possible customised to our needs. The was engaging and spoke English very well so we could ask here a lot of questions not only about the sights of the day but also about China and traveling the country in general. We not only had her but also a separate driver just for ourselves which we hadn't even realised when booking so definitely worth the money! We did the panda park first which essentially is a large zoo with only pandas rather than a range of animals. It's quite large and would be confusing by oneself so following Abby who knows the place in and out was definitely a bonus. It filled up with people very quickly so keep that in mind when deciding what time to leave in the morning if you want to get the chance to take some (many?) cute panda pics. We then went on to the Giant Buddha which was about 90 minutes drive away. This meant we saw a bit of more rural China on the way but also got quite tiring on the way back. While the pandas were definitely cute and are obviously a must see when in Chengdu, we liked the Buddha almost more. Just amazing how they built this into the mountain so many years ago and it felt like a bit off the beaten track, especially as a Western tourist. All in all, an amazing day trip and if you can afford it, we'd definitely recommend this private tour!
Xiexie Daisy for a dream private trip to see the pandas! Daisy knew exactly what time to visit so that we could see pandas playing and posing for the cameras! I’m a teacher and her English was simply perfect, she knew so much about the pandas and could answer all my questions. Afterwards we went to see the biggest stone buddha in the world. Daisy knew the best shortcuts and made everything fit into a tight schedule without feeling rushed. Thank you again Daisy for a 5 star experience!
Our guide Shelley was excellent! She picked us up early to reach the panda park early enough and navigate us through the crowd to see many pandas! We were brought to a fun place for lunch with amazing cuisine and then head to the giant buddha area to get a ferry! An amazing site that can’t be missed. We were dropped off at the hotel with enough time to enjoy dinner in Chengdu.
Abby was an absolute delight. She really knew her way around the sanctuary and helped me get some great photos. We had some great conversations about our cultures and shared many laughs. She was also very knowledgeable about the history of the Giant buddah. We had a great lunch and made great time. Very fun and informative tour. I hope I get to take another tour with Abby some day and I wish that for anyone else visiting Chengdu.
Joy was very attentive. She contacted the hotel reception beforehand to make everything easy. Her explanations in perfect English were all very interesting, she told us about the history, traditions, religious beliefs and even science behind some local phenomena. The chauffeur Zhou was also very nice, he taught us some Chinese and his driving was very smooth, making us comfortable on the way from one place to another. I would totally recommend this tour ☺️
We recommend the services of Sheldon. Very nice and attentive guy. He brought us to a typical restaurant with delicious food.
If you go on this tour, I highly recommend you ask to leave Chengdu early (6:30) and tell the company what your priorities are -- I would think it should be relatively easy to customize as it is a private tour. We left at 8 a.m. and by the time we got to the pandas, 90% of them were napping because they are fed at 8 a.m., according to our guide. There is also a particularly famous panda that people were lined up to see. Our guide did not ask our interest in waiting to see this panda; we just walked by, probably because we needed to get on our way to see the Leshan Buddha. The crowds were extensive (as was our experience at every attraction in China), so that was not surprising but did make it a bit of a competition to see the pandas. We were able to see one panda awake and moving for about 20 seconds. The visit to the pandas felt rushed; having come thousands of miles to China, I would have gladly taken more time, so in retrospect, I would have shared this preference with the tour organizer ahead of time and gone earlier and/or skipped the Leshan Buddha. The buddha was interesting, but I am not sure it was worth the long drive and quick zip through the panda zoo. I also would have appreciated more information about the Leshan Buddha and Buddhism from our guide; Chinese tour groups on the boat appeared to be getting more information from their guides. Our guide was nice but reserved and maybe a bit rusty after years of pandemic-related lockdown. But my hunch is that the company has all the infrastructure to be able to create a great, customized tour, so I encourage you to give them a try.
Great tour. Fen knows about Pandas and Chengdu. She knew the perfect time when to see the Pandas. Very knowledgeable and friendly. I highly recommend this tour 👌
Lucy, Lisa & Mr Driver were great companions for my day in Chengdu! :) I really enjoyed the sights! Would recommend!
This was such a fantastic day of adventure and knowledge! Our guide (Lucy) knew exactly everything that was needed to be known and where to go when we saw the pandas in the morning. She truly loves to give you all the knowledge she can about where she grew up. She even gave us great recommendations on what we can do on our free day before leaving. Highly recommend doing this tour when in chengdu!
Tour consisted of visit to Chengdu Panda Research Base and a trip to Leshan to see the Buddha statue. Clara was our guide and was engaging throughout, and provided many insights into the region as well as the history of the landmarks that we were visiting. Overall an excellent day out with a great guide and driver!
Teresa is a friendly guide and conversational in English. Gave good recommendations during lunch and provide good explanations throughout the trip.
We've decided to engage this 1 day tour even though exploring Chengdu on our own is very easy by using their subway system because of the distance to the Leshan Buddha and all the attraction tickets already included. They even provided us with a private chauffeured car which is in a excellent condition. Our guide, Teresa is a wonderful lady and she's very informative and guided us through the entire tour smoothly. At the end, she's more like a friend to us than just a tour guide. Keep up the great work Teresa!
Our guide Judy was great. Pandas were amazing. I think the 3 hour drive each way for the Giant Buddha is not worth it. The local food on the Leshan Mountain was delicious. The Buddha was giant, as advertised. But I'd skip it next time. Just see the pandas and find something else to do for the rest of your day.
We had Lucy Liu as our tour guy for the one day trip to panda base & giant budda. First of all, she was very knowledgeable, not only about the tour itself, but a lot of other things, such as Chinese Literature. We chat a lot on the way to panda base & giant budda, which was very sweet during the long distant driving. But, Lucy knows very well when to stop so we could rest as well. Second, I like the way she treated us like we were her family. She would tell us what was the right price to buy local specialities. The whole day with her, we didn't feel pressured. We felt very comfortable with her, which we valued the most important thing when we travel around. I would recommend Lucy to anyone who is going to visit Chengdu or other nearby cities.
Lucy our tour guide was very good! Had very good English and very accommodating to our personal needs. Knew where and when to go to see the active pandas and skip the queues, saving so much time. Drive to Leshan Buddha required emergency stop which we were very grateful for. Gave us different options for lunch depending on budget. Took some good photos of us with Leshan Buddha. Very knowledgeable of Chengdu including restaurant recommendations. Awesome!
I only had one day in Chengdu and was hoping to make the most out of it. I booked the one day Giant Panda and Leshan Giant Buddha private tour. I was worried because of the distance between the two sites but it turned out to be super easy. My guide Carol, who spoke English perfectly was super helpful. Her and the driver picked me up at 7:30 am to drive to the Panda Research base. During our drive she taught me about the city of Chengdu and the pandas. She’s very knowledge and knew a lot about Chengdu’s history. I saw many different kind of pandas and Carol was able to navigate through the park very smoothly. She always knew where to go, to see the next panda. After we saw all pandas, including the red pandas, we headed to our next stop - Leshan Giant Buddha. The drive was quicker than expected, it roughly took 2,5 hours. Carol was able to tell me interesting facts about the tea plantations and areas between Chengdu and Leshan. Upon arrival, Carol took me to a local spot for lunch. The food was delicious and the atmosphere very nice. Afterwards we went on a boat ride to see the in rock carved Buddha. I would recommend taking a boat because you have the best views of the Buddha. Our boat changed its’ position a few times, for all guests on board to get the most amazing pictures. Not only was Carol super helpful throughout the trip, organizing all the tickets in advance and having a route organized, she also recommended a hot pot restaurant for dinner to me, and even wrote down all the things I should order. I can highly recommend her and the tour.
Overall it was a very good experience. Our tour guide Kay was very helpful and friendly. He speaks fluent English and has provided a lot of interesting information about Chengdu. The food and restaurants he recommended was delicious and reasonable priced. The driver was also very professional. It was a very pleasant experience and I would recommend to anyone who is considering in a private tour for Chengdu! Also thanks to Kay for helping us rehome a stray dog that we came across in LeShan!!
I thoroughly enjoyed my day tour with Cecila- she was so knowledgeable, helping us navigate the Panda Base to see best sights amongst the throngs of people. Also visited the leshan Buddha by boat which was amazing! Great lunch and coffee stops, great company and shared so much history with me.. couldn’t recommend more highly
We had Cecile take us to both the Panda and Leshun Buddah in a one day tour. We knew most of the day would be in the car because that's what you sign up for when you select this tour due to the Buddah being 2.5 hour drive away, but the car and driver were very comfortable and the journey felt quicker by Cecile letting us pick music to play on the car speakers and us having a sing song in the back. Cecile was fun and very personable telling us stories about her life. She was very enthusiastic about the pandas and took lots of pictures for us on her phone to send to us later. The pandas were fantastic and it was great we were picked up early to see them having their breakfast before they went off for a mid-morning snooze. We could have done more in Leshun as we drove all the way there and only saw the Buddah for about half an hour on the boat. It was good, but maybe more history and info on the area would have been more interesting. Lunch was traditional and really tasty. We let Cecile pick as it was a local restaurant and we had no idea what was on the menu, but it all was all really yummy and extremely cheap (about £3 each for a big meal)! Would recommend if you're not in Chengdu for long and want to see both attractions in a oner. You can easily do both yourself without guide but by choosing this tour you get the comfort of the driver and Cecile guiding you where to go. Only downfall is that it's to a strict time schedule in order to miss traffic in the evening so by going on your own you'd have the freedom to spend as long as you want in each area. We left earlier as well due to one of our friends booking an opera that evening so it was good Cecile and driver accommodated and got us back in plenty time for her to see the show.
If you have time in Chengdu this one day Trip is a must see. To start the day you will visit the Giant Panda Park in Chengdu. Then immediately following you will head to Leshan to have a nice lunch in a local restaurant (food was amazing!!!) in Leshan. Cecile our tour guide was top notch and very informative. We had some challenges with the boats to the Giant Buddha not running do to fog. She quickly shifted gears and made sure we got to the Buddha park and got some amazing photos. If you love Pandas and culture this tour is hard to beat. Cecile was an amazing guide and the Driver did an amazing job transporting us safely to and from Leshan. This tour is highly highly recommended!!!
Had a short but comprehensive trip at the Panda Base, which was extremely productive given the crowd! Had a great local lunch before visiting the Giant Buddha, recommended by Lucy - our awesome tour guide. Lucy was informative on the places where the car passed, making the long journey an enjoyable and educational one. Understood more on the city, food, culture, people, and green tea! Will strongly recommend Lucy!
Lucy was wonderful.. Very accommodating and able to adjust tour to my pace (pretty quick!) We experienced a local lunch and even allowed me to visit a teahouse at my request. Highly recommend this!
I finally met the pandas. Chengdu, a misty city, my first impression when I first came to this city with Cecile.I thought the trip will be tough as it keeps raining all day but she still managed to make it a fun one, you can never get bored when she's around. Especially, the panda babies... so soft and fluffy as if you can grasp them with a hand. I could never forget that feeling. I believe that it really is the kind of trip that foreigners were looking for in China.
The trip started with picking up at the hotel .After 2 hours country side view we arrived Leshan Giant Buddha. Our guide Lucy told us a lot of interesting stories. The buddha is ameizing .Then some local wet market visiting .we tryed many kinds of snacks there and experienced the local life.My son likes the local snacks very much .The highlight was tea terrace hiking and handmade tea ourselves. We had an excellent tour there.
My wife and I would warmly recommend the Panda park & Leshan bouddha excursion. Lucy, Our Guide, was fantastic ! She made our day. She has a lot of stories to tell and Lots of information / knowledge to share during the day. Our driver is skillful and warm and nice man. It was a great day for us....
My friend and I had an amazing tour with Cecile first we went to the panda base which was amazing!!! Then we made the journey to Leshan and even though the weather was pouring with rain so we couldn’t do the boat but we still enjoyed seeing the giant Buddha’s head and the surrounding temple. Cecile Was super knowledgeable about the places we went and was also super lovely
We only could book a private tour, there was no other option. It was a little bit expensive. The panda tour was very nice. After that we went to the buddha. It was a drive of 2,5 hours. Before the visit we had lunch at a local restaurant. The tour guide was sitting at our table so we also had to pay for his lunch. The food was very good. Our tour guide spoke very good English and he was very helpfull. The tour was exactly as offered. We had a nice time.
It was a very nice trip. We’ve visited the Pandas early in the morning, so it wasn’t very busy at that time in compare to the afternoon. Our tourguide was Kay, his English was very good. He was helpfull and not rushed, so he was a nice guide for us. After the Pandas we went to a local restaurant for lunch. The Buddha was very nice to see. We didn’t climb the Buddha but we went with the boat. We had the time to take pictures. The trip was very long to get to the Buddha, 2,5 hours from the Panda. Also the price was a bit expensive. But we really enjoyed the tour and we recommend the tour for other people who wants to visit the Pandas and the Buddha.
Great visit to the giant panda, thanks to Cecile no waiting time whatsoever to get in the park with Giant Panda, Red panda, if you get lucky you can touch them. The buddha is an amazing sight, really impressive and worth the drive. Our guide took us to a local sichuan restaurant, where spice and flavor where perfectly balanced as all thing should be.
Panda base is a big and nice facility which I think is worth to visit and Buddha visit is a little far away but in my opinion it is a good chance to view some countryside. I do recommend this tour.
From start to finish Lucy was brilliant very friendly, very knowledgeable and spoke excellent English. Even though it was raining she remained cheerful and ensured we had a fantastic day. I would highly recommend u2 Panda and if you are lucky Lucy will be your guide.
I had Lucy who is an energetic, fantastic, and knowledgeable tour guide. We accomplished so much in one day. Lucy’s communication is fantastic; and Lucy was extremely helpful throughout the whole tour. The tour group I was with was a fun collection of individuals as well from around the world. We started with the Chengdu Panda Tour first and then went to the Leshan Buddha Tour. Lucy was also helpful in helping me locate my wallet at the airport which I had misplaced earlier upon arrival. It was wonderful, I’m extremely grateful to have had Lucy as my tour guide and to be part of the Space Pandas :).
Cecile was an awesome guide- very well informed, answered all our questions well and introduced local food and snacks. Very friendly and nice! The drive to the buddha was a bit ) long (2.5 hrs) but she told us it would be and its quite a smooth ride in aidconned car. Definatly recommend seeing buddha by boat- was very enjoyable, not too cramped and got much better pics then would have if you took the stairs!
Was worth it. Started with 35 min drive to see Pandas followed by 2 hrs drive to Leshan Budda. Lunch was NOT included, but it was cheap. Our tour guide Kay got us local cuisine for an inexpensive lunch. It was nice cruising with a guide that knew the Panda place. It was like going to Disney on a fast pass on every ride. We completed the Panda Breeding grounds in 2 hours, then drove to the boat in Leshan. After an amazing lunch, we sailed to the Budda. It was so cool. Returned to our hotel by 6pm. Very Satisfied .....
