All Inclusive Private Trip To Chengdu Giant Panda Base And Leshan Giant Buddha

If this review was based solely on Evan as a guide, I would have given 5 glowing stars- he was fantastic! He was knowledgeable about everything, polite and his English was amazing. The pandas were just adorable, the whole experience there was unforgettable. The second part was the Leshan Giant Buddha seen from the river cruise. This was spectacular to see and Evan gave us all the details about it. Unfortunately, it was over 2 hours away. Other reviews on here had described the lovely, comfortable car. We had a regular ( pretty smelly) taxi. The driver had his window fully down the entire journey, including the expressway. By the time we arrived in Leshan, I was cold, had sore, dry eyes and earache. When we've paid almost £200 each for this trip, I expected something far more comfortable. For example, in Xi'an, we paid less than half of this cost and had a luxurious minivan with individual leather armchairs. We had a really lovely lunch at a local restaurant, but I struggled to keep it down on the journey back. This was a 3 hour ride back, and the whole journey was spent listening to the driver hawking up the contents of his nose and chest and spitting them out of the window. This day was supposed to be the highlight of my trip to China, but it was drastically spoiled by the cheap transport offered and the driver experience. Evan was faultless as a guide, but pick a cheaper option with better transport, or just skip the Keshan part and stick with the pandas.

It was well organized private tour to the most important two places. Panda research center was well organized and my private guide Tom was very active, talkative young man. We saw both giant pandas and Red pandas as well. After that we drove to Leshang. We had a nice private lunch before taking the river cruise to see Giant Buddha. The car was clean and comfortable. Driver was very good. Then they dropped me back at the hotel.

The tour to the Panda Base and the Giant Buddha with Ling was fantastic! First, Ling guided us through the Panda Base in Chengdu and gave us interesting insights into the pandas’ lives. She took us right to the spots where we could observe the animals up close. Afterwards, Ling tailored our lunch at a lovely local restaurant to our individual preferences. We then drove to the Giant Buddha. The driver was very experienced, so we were able to avoid long traffic jams. Ling’s explanations on site were comprehensive and very easy to understand. She repeatedly pointed out various photo opportunities and provided an interesting historical insight into the history of the historic site. Ling also told us a lot about her hometown of Chengdu and gave us valuable tips on sights throughout the country. Thank you, Ling, for your dedication and kindness. We would gladly give you and the driver a 10 out of 10 if that were possible and recommend the tour 100%.

This tour was one of the best days of the trip! The panda base was amazing and we saw 3 month old baby pandas - so cute! The trip to the giant Buddha is well worth it. The journey is about 2 hours each way but the transport was so comfortable that it went by really quickly. We opted for the river cruise option and it was really enjoyable. The lunch in Leshan was brilliant too - crab dumplings one of the best things I’ve eaten this trip. What really made this tour stand out for us was our guide Fifi (sorry if I have spelt her name wrong). She was wonderful. She was incredibly friendly, funny and knowledgable. She provided everything you’d expect from a professional guide but made us feel so welcome it felt like we were hanging out with a friend for the day. Thank you Fifi!

My wife and I had a great experience with this tour at Chengdu. Even before it started, there was great communication from Lily, our tour operator. She also followed-up with us during the tour to ensure everything was going well. It went well indeed. It was great! Amber, our guide, did an awesome job! She was super nice an professional. We went first to one of the Panda's bases, the one in the city. She knew exactly were to take us and at what time to avoid the crowds. She was very knowledgeable and friendly. After a little shopping time, we went to Lashan. She gave us very interesting commentary during the 2 hr ride as well as rest time. Once in Lashan, she took us to a very nice restaurant for lunch where she order some regional dishes. It was one of the best meals we had in our China trip. We went then to visit the giant Buddah on a boat ride. It was very nice and interesting. She did, again, a great job with a lot of historic explanations. Mr. Zhou, our driver, did also an awesome job in a very nice and comfortable car. He was too very professional and friendly. So in summary, it was a great private tour and a day that will bring fond memories for life. Highly, highly recommended! If we return to Chengdu, we will look again for Lily and Amber! The way all tours should be!

I have given this 5 stars purely on the basis of the visit you the panda sanctuary which was great. However we also saw the stone Buddha which was a two hour drive away in another province and it was just too much to do in one day. Just stick to seeing the pandas.

We booked two private trips with Westchinago, both which were fantastic. Dujiangyan Panda Volunteering Experience (full day), and a Chengdu Giant Panda Base and Leshan Giant Buddha (full day). We were so lucky to have Lynn as our tour guide for both days. She was wonderful, giving us insights on what to expect for the tours, as well as the city of Chengdu. She was very helpful making suggestions for dinner and other sites we might want to visit during our stay in Chengdu. Prior to all this, as soon as we made the booking, Lily reached out. She explained what she deeded to book the tickets to the panda bases, and a little before the trip, reached out again to explain clearly what we should expect at the panda bases. Both days, we were picked up at our hotel on time. There were two of us, and we were in a comfortable vehicle with a driver, in addition to Lynn. On our way to Dujiangyan, Lynn found out it was my birthday, and she took it upon herself to surprise me with a birthday cake at one of the local tea houses! On top of that, she also informed my hotel! When I got back that evening, there was another birthday cake waiting for me in my room. Thank you so much! Both Lily and Lynn were fantastic in going above and beyond by doing this. The next day, we visited the Giant Panda Base, and Leshan Giant Buddha. Once again, after being picked up at the hotel, Lynn ran through the itinerary for the day. She kindly volunteered to take many pictures of us at the panda base, and was flexible with our time there. We stopped for a delicious lunch before proceeding to the Leshan Giant Buddha. Lynn told us where we should be on the boat for the best view of the buddha, and it did not disappoint. It was a long day (about 10 hours), and totally worth it! This company genuinely cared about ensuring our experience would be memorable. We were so happy with the communication, execution of the itinerary, and our wonderful tour guide, Lynn. We highly recommend this company, and will work with them again on future trips to China. For people who can not walk fast and long distance. The shuttle bus is useful. But still have a distance to walk to where the panda are. They have disable friendly slope, who can not walk down the stairs. Good facility

Booked our trip with Lilly - who was fantastic at communicating with us. Yana was our tour guide and she was fabulous. She was very knowledgeable and knew where to take us to see the Pandas and got great photos at the Buddha. Also - the lunch was one of the best - we told her what types of food we liked and she orders an amazing meal for us - we even tried the preserved eggs. Highly recommend this tour!

We had a great experience with our tour guide and driver. Lin (Amber) is a very sympathetic person, very knowledgeable and patient. With her deep experience, she helped us to going through the mobs smoothly. Panda experience was unforgettable since we could see some of them eating and playing outside. The Giant Buddha was also very interesting, despite the distance that we had to go through (almost 2 hours). Considering the distance of the 2 attractions, I recommend the tour, which makes possible to see both in the same day.

Great day trip if you're short on time in Chengdu, my guide Lucy + our driver were both excellent. She knew the best ways to see as many pandas as possible in the time we had, and it was wonderful to have someone handling translations, tickets, food ordering, etc. Highly recommend!

We used Westchinago for our tours in Chengdu and Beijing, and I can wholeheartedly recommend this company. Lily Chen was our main point of contact, and she did an outstanding job organizing everything. She's highly professional, extremely knowledgeable about travel across China, and really understood our preferences. Communication with her was seamless and efficient. Lily arranged all our tours with great attention to detail. The guides provided were excellent—fluent in English, informative, and incredibly helpful throughout. The vehicles were spotless, comfortable, and driven by skilled, courteous drivers. Wonderful full day tour to see the highlights of the surrounding area. We went in the morning to see the pandas which were adorable. There was even a 4 month old out soaking up the sunshine. Then we had a spectacular local lunch in Leshan followed by a hike of the magnificent giant Buddha. Our guide Sharlene couldn’t have been more lovely. Her English was excellent and we learned a lot at each step of the journey. Her food recommendations for lunch were also very helpful and we learned a lot about local delicacies as an added bonus!

Had such a pleasant trip to see the pandas and the Buddha in Leshan! Demmi the guide + driver arrived punctually at the Hotel. Then, she showed me all the nicest spots for pictures and told me all about the pandas and Chengdu. We had a great Lunch and then a very nice boat ride to see the Buddha. Everything went well from the reservation until the end. The car was very spacious and clean, smooth drive!

Chengdu Giant Panda Base is the closest one to the city center, as compared to a few others (e.g., Dujiangyan and Wolong), with plenty of cute pandas to observe. I went on a rainy day and many pandas were out and about, super adorable. Observed two panda cubs feeding on the mom and mom got tired of them and tried to push them off, very cute. Compared to the panda base, the giant buddha is a much longer drive (2+ hours) and not as memorable, but still a must-see. Guide Rosa is very knowledgeable and demonstrated a genuine fondness for the pandas, even after years of guiding guests to the different panda bases.

Fifi was such an amazing tour guide!! Having a private van for just our family of 4 made the day so enjoyable. On our own timeline we had a great time touring the Panda sanctuary. The drive to Leshan was long but we rested and got more cultural info from Fifi. Lunch in Leshan was AMAZING and the buddha was so inspiring. Highly recommend Fifi and her team!!

Fi-Fi was amazing and so fun! My teenagers loved her! We would not have managed to fit everything into one day, or have figured out the transportation on our own. The arrangements were smooth and painless. Our guide and drivers were on time and very knowledgable. We were at the panda base early and managed to spend almost an hour alone with one panda who showed off for us. Fi-Fi managed to navigate us to the best spots at the park and we were out of here before it got too busy. The Leshan Buddha was awe inspiring, but I enjoyed the train trip seeing some chinese country side even more.

I really loved the trip, it was very well organized and the only trip offering both attractions in 1 day. Sharleen was my guide and she was patient, informative and a pleasure to be around. The bears are terribly cute and a joy to see. Lunch was excellent and seeing the grandness of the Buddha was very memorable. Overall a great day and highly recommend.

A packed day, Sharlene was very patient with us having 3 small children 6/4yrs and 11mnths. She found a great balance between letting us get the children sorted and pushing us along in order to meet the train and boat ride in Leshan. Very good English and guided us through the day with as much information as we wanted. Time keeping was excellent and very informative about what was going to be done.

I booked two day tours with WestChinaGo through Lily Chen - Dujiangyan Panda Base Volunteer for the day, and on day two, Chengdu Giant Panda Base and Leshan Giant Buddha by High-Speed Train. My outstanding guide and wonderful driver were Sharlene (Wen Wen) and Mr. Gao. It is impossible for me to say enough positive things about Sharlene. She provided me with a wealth of information and was also extremely organized. It was difficult not to cry when we said goodbye because I felt I had gotten to know her so well in just two days and that we are now good friends. My entire experience with WestChinaGo was perfect from the first time I corresponded with Lily. When I arrived in Chengdu, my driver was there to meet me; and when I got to the car, Lily called me to make sure I had arrived safely. This gesture made a big impact on me because it showed how important her clients are to her and immediately made me feel like I was in good hands. The tours I took were both great. The volunteer program allows you to get up close to the pandas and feed them (twice). You really feel part of their daily lives. The second day, we went to the Panda Research Base in Chengdu. This was such a special morning. We saw pandas in both of the nurseries - one baby panda a month old and the other one about 3 months old. They are so precious it takes your breath away. Then, we took the high-speed train to see the Leshan Giant Buddha. Sharlene took me to an excellent restaurant for lunch before we took the boat to see the Buddha. It was much more impressive than I expected. Fortunately, there was no scaffolding, and we had perfect weather. I had allowed myself an extra day in Chengdu to return to the Panda Research Base. Sharlene gave me excellent tips for that day. I was fortunate enough to again see baby pandas in both nurseries, and then I spent several more hours enjoying the other pandas at the base. Sharlene had told me about a sightseeing bus that would take me from the Panda Base to Jingli Street for about $1.50. I was the only non-Chinese on the bus, but everyone was very friendly and helpful. Being an older woman traveling alone, I was nervous about being in Chengdu by myself. However, Sharlene was so thoughtful and caring. I immediately felt at ease with her, and she gave me the confidence to enjoy my extra day. I want to thank Lily, Sharlene, and Mr. Gao for providing me with so many unforgettable memories.

Even before our trip at the end of Mar'19 we were very pleased with the service we recieved from 'West China Go'.I emailed Lily several times with queries, she was quick to reply & always answered in great detail. After booking we had to change the date which Lily arranged for us without any problems. Our guide Winnie was brilliant & added to the great experience. We had plenty of time at the Giant Panda Base before catching the train to see the Leshan Gaint Buddha. We were so lucky as the Buddha had been under restoration but on the day we went the scaffolding had been removed.I would definitely recommend the company, the trip & Winnie( excellent guide) they all went above & beyond. What a wonderful day with Flora and Mr Jo!! Thank you so much Lily for organizing a perfect day of Panda viewing, Big Buddha sighting and the beautiful ancient fishing village/grottos. Flora spoke amazing English and was a ray of sunshine and knowledge. I would highly recommend this tour. Because there we 3 of us they opted to use a minivan which was an added bonus for our day!! Both Lily and Flora have provided many restaurant recommendations for the rest of our stay. The Pandas were in out if force which made a highlight to the day!!

Myself and 2 friends recently did 2 days of touring Chengdu and had a fabulous time. Lily was very helpful communicating with me to ensure we had the best 2 days and Flora our guide was great. She spoke English really well and was fun and informative to be around. We thoroughly enjoyed all the sights of Chengdu especially the Pandas!

We recently visited Chengdu, and and were very excited to visit the Chengdu Giant Panda Base and the Leshan Giant Buddha since these are two major tourist attractions in Chengdu. Once we booked the tour, Lily, promptly emailed me to discuss the details. Our guide, Andie, was wonderful. She was very knowledgeable, and she spoke English very well. The Panda Base was amazing, and it was really neat to see so many Pandas and baby Pandas. Make sure to get there early to avoid the crowds. The pandas are also more active in the mornings when it is cooler. The high speed train to Leshan was also great, and the Buddha was massive and an awesome sight to see. We ended up taking the boat ride to get a better view of the Buddha. This was a great tour, and I would highly recommend it to others!

We had a wonderful day with guide Winnie. The panda preserve was interesting. Saw a cute baby!! There is quite a bit of hilly walking to see pandas so people with mobility problems might want to pass. The Giant Buddha is amazing!! And Winnie took us to a family run restaurant for lunch which was some of the best food I've ever had! Highly recommend this tour and request Winnie!

After long and detail research on tour guides for Pandas in China, I found Lily. And i was amaze by the amount of 5 stars review she had. So I contact her, and finally book with her. And I can tell you hands down, the BEST decision me and my wife did for our 1 month vacation in china!! Not only she was AWESOME in Chengdu, but she even took the time to recommend other tour guides for the other cities we were visiting.....and ALL of them turn out to be also great tour guides. Lily not only made our trip memorable, but also she as human being is extraordinary. So easy to sit down and chat with her. We even met her daughter, beautiful and smart Lily Jr. So yes! Do yourself a favor and book West China Go! We were bless and glad we did! The memories and good times we had were possible because of lily and her company!

<p>Best tour ever! And best tour guide ever!!! So glad that I had Amy as my tour guide. She was so easy to connect to that it felt as if I am accompanied by a friend and not a tour guide.<br/> Amy picked me up sharp at 7.45 am from my hotel and we hoped into the travel company car and reached Giant Panda Base. Since we reached there at around 8.15, which was pretty early, we avoided all the rush and got good view of all sizes of Pandas one red panda actually walked past me casually!!. Amy also helped me pick up the right souvenirs.<br/> We left the Panda base at around 10.45 am and went to South Chengdu Station to catch the high speed train to Leshan scheduled for 11.40 am. Amy shared more information about Chengdu and Leshan during the 1 hour train journey. We then headed to a local restaurant where I had some delicious food. Tofu soup was the best!!<br/> I opted to take a 30 min boat ride to see the Giant Buddha as I felt it was wiser than spending time and energy in queues to reach the Giant Buddha. Hiking trip takes you too close to the statue that you dont get a good view. The view from the boat was amazing and I would highly recommend doing that. You also get a Sleeping Buddha View if you do a boat trip. <br/> We then took a return train to Chengdu at 4.10 pm. This one took a little more time than the morning train but we were back to Chengdu South Railway Station by 5.30 pm. I was then dropped back to my hotel with some recommendations on where to have dinner.<br/> I am definitely going to visit Chengdu again for a longer duration next time to explore more of Sichuan heritage and I will contact West China Go and Amy again. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOLKS!!</p>

<p>My wife and I were led by Jamie Jing of West China Go Travel Service on this tour. We enjoyed a good time in both the Panda Base and Leshan Giant Buddha due to Jamie's professional planning as we started early in the morning visiting the Panda Base due to the potential pre-National Day crowd. We were fortunate to see very active Panda having their breakfast and manage to mingle with a red Panda who came right up to our feet. We were blessed to see these cute animals in their natural habitat.<br/> For lunch Jamie took us to an old reputable restaurant in Leshan that serve all the popular food in Chengdu.<br/> We took the ferry to view the Giant Buddha from the river instead of walking/climbing the stairs jostling with the crowd and not able to view the full Buddha. It was a wise decision that travelers should consider when visiting Leshan Giant Buddha.</p>

<p>Lily was a great guide which was full of knowledge and very friendly. This tour not only gave us enough time to enjoy the Pandas in the morning, but by taking the high speed train, we were able to visit Leshan and the Giant Buddha in the same day without rushing. I highly recommend this tour if you need to fit in both these great locations in one day.</p>

If you do not have enough time to visit both attractions, this tour is an excellent option to do it in one day, without rushing and comfortably. I must highlight that Evan, our guide, was very professional, kind, and attentive throughout the tour; added to the fact that he facilitated the visit to the reserve by taking us through areas that were not as saturated and we avoided the crowds, in short, this option is worth it, I highly recommend it.
